  1. Heya everyone! I used to do quite a bit of remxing around here, but it was back a couple of years ago so I figure a lot of people here don't know who I am; You may have heard these; http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01341 http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01304 In any case, I've since then started a band called Contemplator, and we just released a full-length album, "Sonance", mixed and mastered by Colin Marston of Gorguts/Krallice/Dysrhythmia. It's somewhere in the middle of Dream Theater, Opeth, more extreme metal like Gorguts, Martyr, and a serious dose of VG influences. Live violin and viola (and cello) on the album are courtesy of Jeff Ball, another OCRemixer you might've heard of! So yeah, come visit us on Facebook, go have a listen to the album on Bandcamp or Youtube! I'd love to have your feedback on the music too! If you're really curious about the composition/recording/production process for the album, we also produced a short making-of video with footage from the studio and some blurbs about how we made this thing. https://contemplator.bandcamp.com https://www.facebook.com/ContemplatorBand/
  2. Hey man! Thanks Yep, it's that same Antoine, but he is playing guitars in Contemplator (not on the tracks on Bandcamp though, this lineup happened after the recording of the EP). I actually also played in Augury for a short run replacing Forest on one tour and a couple of local shows. Thanks for the support man! If you feel like it, we're playing tomorrow (this saturday) in Quebec City supporting Symbolic
  3. Hey guys, just released a new single/b-side/outtake - hope you guys will like it. This one is a preprod demo, so it's me on guitars/bass + programmed drums. I also mixed/mastered the thing to -14 LUFS/13.5dB RMS avg as an experiment on less loud and more dynamic mastering. Your feedback is welcome http://contemplator.bandcamp.com/album/orb
  4. That's some awesome feedback, thanks alot! Your comment about melodic content is interesting - it really has never been my strength, and it's something I'd really like to work on in the future. Thanks for taking the time to listen
  5. Hey! Been a while since I've been active here, so HEYA, was making remixes a few years ago around here and on VGMix (sadface), but I've been honestly pretty out of touch with the community lately. Just released my album last week; finally got to release an album of original material. It blends pretty much all my influences together - it's metal, it does get a bit over the top at some points, I haven't made any compromise to try to be accessible or easy to listen to. There is some VGM influence in there, of course So, please have a listen if that sounds like something you could dig! http://contemplator.bandcamp.com/ Enjoy!
  6. THANKS a lot! Heeyyyy yeah I'll definitely do that!
  7. Awesome, thanks guys Paul, my game remixes are starting to get a bit old haha You'll find a couple of 'em here!
  8. Been an incredibly long while since I've posted here, but bear with me - I released my first original album last week. I figure some people here will like the music since it's heavily influenced by VGM in general. If you feel like giving it a chance, it's a professionally produced album I've put alot of work into, amd I hope you like it! http://contemplator.bandcamp.com/
  9. Very nice, I actually went back to my old remixes to see if there were new comments. Quick'n'easy.
  10. Dark Corner is definitely one of the weakest tracks I ever did, so no worries. It has some redeeming qualities, but overall, I just went way overboard. So it's OK. Go listen to "This Fate" now
  11. Not necessarily a good thing. It might actually raise flags for the producer and make him think you're really desperate/trying to get your first gig/not up to the task. Only things I can think of is get your name out there, send resumes, keep your eyes open for opportunities, and don't give up after a week. If you're looking into getting into the games industry, seriously consider brushing up your sound design skills, download trials for audio engines (fmod, wwise, xact...), get familiar with the concepts of how audio in games work, get the books, etc.
