Had to listen to this one a few times through to figure out what I think about the vocals. I think Larry has some good points on the overall feel within the track as well as some intonation issues, but I think that overall it doesn't come to a point where it drags the rest of the track below the bar, since there is a lot of good going on with it. Definitely somethings to take note of for the future, and it does end up being close in the end, but I think it gets by as-is.

This is pretty! Agreed with the others mentioning that this would fit really well in a movie or a trailer or something. The leads were definitely the part that felt the most robotic on the sequencing, but I think when put in the whole of the nice orchestration and overall personalization it's not a dealbreaker. Great use of tempo variation, though, I think that is what really sold the mix for me.

This is super peppy and a lovely listen. Really enjoyed the overall 80's vibe and Heaven's guitar playing really add a nice touch. Love the overall details from the instruments to the harmonies. To nitpick I felt that the section near the end was a little crowded and some of the instruments got lost but the main instruments mostly pull through. Not a deal breaker!

First off there is some great part writing and fantastic energy here.
I generally never fully timestamp a piece but rather go by the overall feel and whether there are enough call backs to the source. That being said I do think this one is on the edge due to some wide sections that stay a little too far away from the source. Rexy has some good ideas on ways to put more source in, so I hope you take them to heart and send this back to us!

Yeah, I think Kris has this right in the end, I feel like this just doesn't strike home enough in terms of the source being recognizable. I think some adjustments could be made to fix this without too much difficulty, and I hope you do so! Other than that, the production is crisp and clear, I enjoyed listening!

DragonAvenger got a reaction from HoboKa in OCR03890 - *YES* Soul Blazer "I'm the Soul Blazer"
We don't have lyrics, and while a lot of it is straightforward there are a couple sections that I couldn't quite understand.
The bass that comes in has a pretty fun sound and sets the track up nicely. Nice groove overall. The synth that comes in after that is a bit thin and shrill, but it doesn't take away from the track much.
Smooth's performance is good, though I felt like a lot of the lyrics for the chorus are repetitive and some what uninspired. This becomes really noticeable when you have the chorus followed by the bridge Gillard by the chorus. It lasts from 0:45 to 1:27, nearly 45 seconds. It feels like a lot of chorus/vamping. After that is the party I can't really make out bit definitely feels more inspired, and another hero verse to the end.
I'm a bit torn here because the middle repetitive section cuts a lot odd momentum from the track. I'm curious what others think but I do think in the end this has a lot of good aspects and a solid performance. Good luck on the rest of the vote.

Looks like all the original judges get to get their second opinion. I remember parts of the original, and listening to the new version I can definitely tell there was a good amount of work put in to add more variation. I do think that some sections still feel a touch samey, but it is a huge improvement and I wouldn't call it an issue any more. I'm going to agree with Gario this time on the grittiness being more of a stylistic choice here, through I suspect you ruined it down from the last version.
    Thanks for the second pass!

Definitely a super happy mix, it reminds me a little of OA's earlier works. Really loving the beefy bass here, especially since it doesn't over crowd the rest of the instruments. The themes are recognizable and there's a lot of extra details added in. Not much else to say here to be honest; nice work with SAC!

I can hear the issues the others are mentioning, but I am not as bothered by them as the others. Really love the style change, and the bass is kickin'! Great energy overall, and while it gets a tad repetitive towards the end I felt it didn't overstay it's welcome. Nice collab between you two, hope you both work together again!

Yeah, pretty nice adaptation to some new instruments and an overall change in the feel of the track. Realy solid work, could easily stand alongside the original tracks.

Definitely not something I expected here. Introspective is most certainly the right description here. Love the smooth style, and the instrumentation is just right. Really nice solos and direction overall, and while I'm not personally a fan of narration tracks, I can still see that this fits pretty well as a whole. Great work getting the extra help here, it made a difference to have the guitar solo played live, and the smooth voice of Stephen is mixed well into the track.
    Great work!

I can see what Gario's saying here, though I don't think it's below the bar. There's still some changes here and there that vary things up that I didn't feel like it was too much. I can see this going either way, but I'm good to do on this one!

Had to listen to this one a few times to really hear the source connections. I'm a bit on the fence here, because the connections ARE there, but they are not the most recognizable without some careful listening. That being said, I found this to be pretty creative in regards to really changing up the style and soundscape of both the original tracks.
Production-wise everything sounded clear, and the soundscape was fun, but I felt some sections seemed a bit mechanical, especially the string stabs. Not a deal-breaker, just a note.

So for the FF6 Kickstarter a number of people were able to get a remix request. One person requested an Crazy Motorcycle and Crazy Bus in an acapella style. Mr. Zieja was game enough to take on such a challenge, and the result is amazing. I was laughing out loud at the end when I first heard this.

I was not expecting such an energetic and unique take here, and I actually had to take a moment to adjust. Nice work on pulling off such a radically different (and fun!) take on this source. I do think the second half suffers from being over-cluttered, but I was able to hear the main parts clearly enough and it doesn't bring it even close to a NO.
Hopefully someone can confirm our correct, but I think this source was the one that Kikuta said was his favorite when he was asked (by me!) at the Otakon Q&A years ago. Fun times and this mix is lovely.

This arrangement is really fun. There's a ton of energy and overall it feels both lighthearted and driving at the same time. guitar work is excellent, and the solos were really solid.
I think Mike provided done solid advice regarding the production. The mids are definitely really dominant here, and it's taking over a bit too much. I all also agree that al lot of the elements feel fairly distant.
A little nitpicky, but the wild howl at the end clashes with the notes. It's more distracting to me than anything else, and I feel like it sounds out of place anyways.
This definitely needs to hit the front page. I hope you adjust some of this levels and get this back to us!

Harpsichord sounds easy more up front and the live trumpet makes a huge difference. Definitely some great changes here! I will nitpick that the trumpet is probably a little too up front at times, but as a former trumpet player it didn't bother me too much.
Overall I'm good to go on this with these changes. Thanks got getting back to us!

What a chill theme! You guys have definitely taken this to the max level of relaxation with some great instrumentation choices and very smooth performances. I enjoyed that there was a good changeup between the leads where nothing overstayed its welcome.
I do think the duo between the violin and the harmonica at 2:06 feels a little awkward as they both take up similar space in the mix and feel a little bit 'clashy'. Nothing big enough to be a deal breaker, just a critique.
    Very nice!

I think this is pretty close, although in the end I do agree with MW here. I like the grittiness of the track, but I think it gets to be too much grit when multiple instruments that are gritty are combining. The arrangement overall is pretty fun as well, though I agree it can get repetitive. I think, though, that if there weren't other elements bringing this down the arrangement would be OK in the long run. A more definitive ending would help, though.
The biggest element to me is toning down (not completely removing) the grittiness, especially in the busier sections. Hope to hear this again!

Overall I think this works out. The sources are definitely obvious, and the arrangement ideas are pretty sound. I think overall the track feels a little stiff, but that also feels intentional. I think the lack of highs and the overall subdued nature works for what Eino is trying to accomplish here, so that doesn't bother me as much. Nice work overall.

I'm on the fence here. I thought the track was pretty creative, especially considering how pretty much all of the vocal clips fit pretty well into the track. That being said, I do think they end up being overused here. Along with that, certain clips end up being a lot lower in volume compared to "I don't understand what's going on here" which was very prominent, to the point of being distracting. I think adjusting the volume on those clips might help bring a little more focus onto the music as well, while still being a focus. There's a lot of variation here, but I feel like there are a lot of elements here that add up to making the track sound pretty repetitive. I think the constant sound wall of words is the biggest factor, but a lot of the other elements are used gratuitously.
I think it's pretty close here, but needs a few adjustments to bring down the repetitiveness a touch and to make the track a little more varied. Good luck on the rest of the vote!
