  1. Trying to get this done in time to sub for Halloween! Not too spooky, but rather chill, ghostly and ethereal. 'Spectral Lover' WIP 2 Spectral Lover.mp3 I found the source in a video on YouTube featuring the various ports of a visual novel game called Dead of the Brain. Not really my cup of tea generally, but the artwork and atmosphere is stunning. The OST however, particularly for the FM Towns port, is magnificent; classic 90s redbook audio if ever I heard it. This particular song caught my attention and I knew I wanted to do a ReMix of it instantly. Very basic, but with gorgeous chords and a simple but beautiful melody. I've elaborated on the source a lot. It was basically 4 tracks of instrumentation, so there was ample space to build on its very solid bones. Here it is: Source: Dead of the Brain ~Shiryou no Sakebi~ FM Towns - Track 02 02.mp3 I've still got a ways to go with it. I need to add some breaks into the transitions.. you'll hear where it's lacking. I also need to work on the percussion more. I'll vary it up a bit more soon, and add some cymbals, because I haven't found the right one yet I also need to work on the bass line in the major sections a LOT! It's next on my to-do list, for sure. I've also got some sub melodies and harmonies to add too, with some other effects, filter work & mixing. I've put this together in two days so far, and I have a day and a half of being able to work on it before time runs out for me to submit in time for Halloween. Let me know what you think, and push me to the finish line!
  2. Howdy everyone. My most recent submission was rejected, and I would like to ask for help! I am reworking some of the remix's composition, especially the beginning. I've posted both the submitted version of the remix [Reshiram/Zekrom] and my current WIP [Minccino] below. My biggest hurdle in re-submission is this: the judges' most prominent critique of this remix is the mixing, which to be frank is something of which I understand very, very little. I've tried to learn what I can over the years, but I always get lost in a soup of foreign terminology and differences in audio which I have trouble quantifying or sometimes find indistinguishable. So... I would love to find someone who could shape this up for me. (My DAW is FL Studio 20.) Otherwise, I would appreciate feedback in the most layman terms you can possibly give. link to the Judges Decision thread Here's the original version I submitted (and which was rejected): Here's my current WIP version:
  3. Hi everyone! This is the first remix I've ever worked on, so I wanted to base it on a track I love. That happened to be First Steps from Celeste (an incredible game). The atmosphere it creates when opening the player to the game is immaculate. And the retro tuning of the instrumentation I adore. When developing it, I wanted to somewhat modernize it whilst retaining the emotional and atmospheric beats of First Steps as a whole. Hope y'all enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/metris-77761303/celeste-first-steps-metris-remix
  4. Hi! I published my new original music track "Neptune". It's very chill music with synthesizer, piano and orchestral elements. Check it out on YouTube: Feedback is welcome!
  5. https://youtu.be/gMty2oMZ5pg One of my recent favorite tunes from DKC 2 composed by David Wise. I had a lot of fun making this absolute chill banger and I hope it shows.
  6. Something special coming... glow ball juggling with original music piece! What do you think about the whole production?

  9. Hoo-boy. Here we go. So this is my first post to OCR. I'm very, VERY new to remixing and I'd like some general feedback on this track I've been working on. I'd eventually like this to be something akin to what you'd hear on GameChops or Radio Cutman which is to say, a downtempo, lo-fi, hip-hoppy remix a la @FUSION42's Mabe Chillage (which I absolutely adore). I only have maybe half of the track hammered out so far (about up to the chorus), but I'd like some feedback on it before I go any further. Soundcloud link
  10. Hey there! I'm a big fan of the Animal Crossing series and the music is a huge part of why I love it so much. I recently collaborated on an arrangement of the 8PM music from Wild World, which is one of my favorite pieces in the series. It's such a simple and sweet tune, and we decided to give it a little bit more of a live feel. I'm using an Arturia Beatstep Pro to drive the drums and the Soniccouture Canterbury Suitcase EP VST for the keys. A full gear/software list is in the video description.Last but certainly not least, the wonderful Ifnot provided the guitar performance, including that wonderful solo at the end It was a blast to make. I hope you like this little rendition.
  11. Sup everybody. So I wanted to try out some new sounds and make something more chill than I normally have. I pictured a star lit sky when I made this. Maybe it could be used for a platformer/side scroller with a night stage or in outer space. Arigato simply means thank you in Japanese as I found inspiration from other artists to make this. Peace.
  12. Want to officially release this on an album with art and such but eh you know don't really have a budget so an unofficial Soundcloud release until I can acquire the rights to this bad boy. Do I need to mention Soundcloud's terrible upload quality?
  13. Hey there guys. I recently finished this simple little trance track and thought I'd share it here for anyone who likes relaxing trance music. This track actually came about as I was playing with the Mandachord in the game Warframe. You can make silly little songs with it and play them in the game as a bard character to buff your allies. I also had Orbital on the mind as I was adapting my silly Mandachord song in to a full track, and this was the result. Of course, "adapting" is kind of a stretch here, since you can only make very basic loops with the Mandachord that are only four bars long with simple drums, a bass line, and a melody. You're also limited to a D-Minor Pentatonic scale and a BPM of 120 to boot, so the resulting "song" can only be so complex. But I see the limitation as an interesting challenge when I try to turn it in to a full track in FL Studio, so I enjoyed the process a lot. I've actually done another track like this in the past, which turned out a lot different from this one in terms of the song's overall tone. Anyway, I hope you like it. Feel free to lay out any criticisms you may have. I'm always open to it.
  14. Hello people. Wanted to share here one of my work. It isn't supposed to become an OCR thing, but just wanted to share it with you, as i think it's one of my "best" work so far. Even if i'm still a noob with synth and i still have a lot to learn about mixing. But anyway, here it is, any kind of feedbacks, even harsh ones are welcome, as my goal is to keep on improving =)
  15. Here's a remix I began working on of Road Taken from Fire Emblem Fates. Currently only a short WIP: ReMix: Road Taken Trap Remix Source: Never really done trap before. Trying it out. The electric piano in the beginning is way too static for my liking right now so I will flourish that. Any feedback is appreciated; thanks for listening. EDIT: Also don't know how I feel about that lead panned to the left.
  16. Guitars by @Furorezu and bass by @Furilas Thanks, guys! Feedback on the mixing will be very appreacited. Thanks. REMIX: https://www.dropbox.com/s/doio4d9cm5medj7/GS - Full Moon.mp3?dl=0 SOURCE:
  17. Hallo! This is a Fairy's Fountain mix that I've been working on. I like it so far, but I'm not sure what to do with it next. Any suggestions are appreciated. I am considering having someone do the sax solo live and extending it a bit before the end. https://soundcloud.com/ericfausto/hey-hey-hey Thanks in advance for feedback!
  18. This was a song I remixed a while ago, but frankly, it wasn't good by any means. So I'm deciding to "use tackle" on this one again with a little more style. ReMix: Bubbles Shining Over the Sea ReMix Source:
  19. I'm a big anime fan and fan of the classical scores used in the alot of anime. Gurren Lagann or Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan is a pretty good short mech anime with decent scores. My favorite Gurren Lagann instrumental comes in the final battle between Genome and Simon as heard here (All of You, Get Fired Up!- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3X4_2...). This track samples from it and with some drums and piano to make chill Gurren Lagan Mashup. It's somewhat vanilla but it's chill Enjoy.
  20. h i . I'm muon 24, from seoul, south korea. I make dream like music. ambient/chill/dreamy/wavy shit.
  21. Hello everyone, This is my first post here, but I've been lurking on your remixes for a while now. I'm in love with the "Title theme" song from Ocarina of time, and I thought it would be a good idea to remix it, I hope you will like it. This remix is a really chilled one, take a sit, close your eyes, and enjoy it. Feel free if you have any feedback. Thanks
  22. Made this little ReMix about a week ago. I was inspired by Django Reinhardt (I added a couple "yeah"s in there, something he did on his track "Minor Swing", and tried to make it sound a bit more vintage) and a similar ReMix by Adrian Holovaty of the Super Mario Bros. 2 Overworld theme. I submitted it a couple of days ago, and I'm wondering what you guys think of it. This is the first thing I've uploaded to this site. Hope this upload works, as it's the first time I've ever done something like this on a forum: I couldn't embed it, so here's a hyperlink instead.
  23. The track is 65% there just need an ending and some EQing issues but let me know what you guys think!
  24. I'd like to know what you folks think. I've been working on this one, off and on, for quite a while. Thanks!
