Instrumental & Vocal Skills (Other)

  1. Instrumental interlude to the album I'm doing did. Touhou vocal emo forever Reina is a better trumpet player than Kaori-senpai mp3: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8406298/lastremote.mp3 wav: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8406298/lastremote.wav So I guess the source is kind of dark but I shifted it to a major key but tried to keep a melancholic feeling before shifting to 4/4 time, where it gets kind of fun? I tried. Also tried not to overstay the song's welcome so it's a short song. I like short songs. Just now realizing I didn't use the melody at 2:20 of the original... oh well source: More songs like this one (they all have vocals though): find your way Or check out this other song I tried posting. touhou post-metal Thanks for your time.
  2. Hello everyone, this is a remix I started a few years ago, kind of forgot about it until recently, so I decided to keep working on it. It is an oriental ReMix of the "choose your character" theme from mario bros 2. Any feedback is appreciated! Source : WIP 1 --Edit-- - Added better and smoother transitions - Removed a few pitch bends and mordents - Hard panned a few parts - More varied Drums WIP 2 --Edit-- tagged as Mod-Review --Edit-- Got a lot of feedback so gonna revert to WIP and keep working on it --Edit-- CURRENT VERSION back to Mod Review, here are a list of things I did: - More varied and dynamic bass line - Relaxed the timing and velocities of plucked instruments, more strumming - Added small variations to melody - More cohesive reverb - EQed piano and brought volume up so it sticks out more - Added Pizzicato to one part - More humanized flute and erhu through volume automation - Brought bass up a couple dbs. - More realistic pitch bends done with pitch automation instead of samples I always feel like my arrangements come out quieter than other people's. Probably because I don't compress as much as I should..
  3. Game: Chrono Trigger Original Track: Corridors of Time Link to Remix: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/628213 A couple of days ago i was messing with my guitar, and found an interesting chord progression that i liked. I then randomly noticed that with some adjustments i could make Corridors of Time work in that chord progression, so i made this arrangement. What do you think?
  4. Hey all, my most recent cover. Doom 64 is next. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VntCh7i5fvA

  6. Hey guys, It's been a while, but here is my new cover/remix. I kept it pretty simple, though wrote entirely new drum lines. I used Sonar Platinum, Dimension Pro, Massive Metal Bass, and Addictive Drums 2. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBykHrWObQs
  7. Ok, so here's my latest remix from Sonic the Hedgehog 4. It's a mix of Lost Labyrinth Zone, Acts 1, 2, and 3. I actually salvaged this from an old, sub-par, western style remix of mine and made it into more of an electronic dance piece. The majority of the song is Act 1, with small parts of Act 2 coming in at around 1:17 and 2:18. Act 3 is added in for the remainder of the song at 3:07. You can listen to it here: http://tindeck.com/listen/admxa And these are links to the source material: - Lost Labyrinth Zone Act 1: - Lost Labyrinth Zone Act 2: - Lost Labyrinth Zone Act 3: I'm pretty proud of this remix. As an amateur, I consider it my best work yet, but of course, I'd like to get some other people's opinions on the sound quality, things that could be improved, and on the composition as a whole. Please let me know what you think, and I'll see if I it's good enough to submit this to the judges.
  8. Took a bit longer on the mix/master with this one to get rid of some of that middy blurriness and garbage. Still not perfect, but I'm rather proud of it!
  9. Not going to submit this one, just something I've been working on. This is an arrangement for 2 guitars, a flute, and a cello. If you can, let me know how the mixing is, I think it's decent, but I'm always looking for mixing/mastering tips. 10. I have never played Skyward Sword in my life, but i think Fi's Theme is the most beautiful piece ever made for this saga. So i felt like making a remix of it: Source: Fi's Farewell - Game: The Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword Link to Remix: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/93823550/%5BFinished%5D%20Goodbye%20Fi.mp3 For the first time in my life i tried to be not conservative with a remix (Well, the first half is still conservative), but the the second half is basically my own take on the motif. I hope you enjoy it.
  11. I just want to spread the love a little bit. This project I recently finished has roots in OCR and it's time to close the loop. I first heard about this site over 10 years ago and have been following it loosely since. In the last year I completed my first "Nerdcore" instrumental album. I wrote it up on my blog if you want my thoughts in text : http://sotgdc.blogspot.com/ but if you just want to get to know me through the sounds , check out the following link : http://angrycrow.bandcamp.com/album/gametheorytothesecondpower I've also made music for an indie game in the past ( more to come ) so.. if you're looking for completely original material : https://angrycrow.bandcamp.com/album/spark-of-life-ost otherwise, come see what's new on my SoundCloud profile! https://soundcloud.com/angrycrow I know it's a lot of links. But I , like many of you, make a lot of music. Thank you for taking the time to listen! See you soon OCR!
  12. Hi there! I'm new in this forum ! I was playing and creating some DOOM level with a friend, and then I had an idea, create a song using DOOM's sounds! So I made it, and I just finished it! I called it "Baron of Hell (Tribute to DOOM)", a mix between dubstep, orchestral and rock styles, I tried to create melodies which remind the overall atmosphere of this incredible game! I hope you'll like it! I've just submitted my track for the Judge Pannel. Best regards from France! https://soundcloud.com/thegadget/baron-of-hell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9LSJtgm9aU
  13. ...To a metal remix of Brave Fencer Musashi music. It's good. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFsBr7ESzPM
  14. My band chiptune rock band Marshall Art was invited to contribute a B-side to a split single by our good friend AutoRemi-PK, and we happily obliged. FREE DOWNLOAD: http://weeklytreats.net/album/18-autoremi-pk-marshall-art SOUNDCLOUD: https://soundcloud.com/marshallart/the-lost-art-weekly-treats-18 "The Lost Art" was originally part of the concept behind the Marshall Art suite on our debut album but was left out in favor of a more cohesive piece. The song is an alternate ending; a "bad future" companion to the cheery anthem which eventually took its place on the album.
  15. Hey guys, I just finished a new YouTube video--it's an arrangement of Dragon Roost Island inspired by Tetrimino's arrangement of the same tune. Check it out!
  16. http://michiharuruko.deviantart.com/art/Original-Game-Project-MajiKana-Update-509944191 https://shsys.bandcamp.com/album/majikana-unreleased-ost Two tracks I made for an indie game, MajiKana, along with an extra track made to just test what could be done with YM2612 sound.
  17. https://youtu.be/V5p5_bA5Lvc?list=PL3i37PRu37O1p385PTx2wqaOXuVvKnF0N For today's video I'll be covering the Stage 1 & 6 music from "Batman: Return of the Joker". Specifically, this is a cover from the original NES game released in 1991, which was composed by Naoki Kodaka. About the cover, I tried to keep it largely the same as the original, including original tempo and key, but added my own solo near the end of the track to change it up.
  18. If you liked my Monkey Island tune that was recently uploaded, you probably should check out this one and maybe you will like it Some feedback would be appreciated!
  19. https://youtu.be/yBJttAcXxFA A pretty basic cover of one of Uematsu's epic battle themes, heavily ELP/prog inspired. Hope you enjoy it!
  20. Hi Guys, I'm starting to seriously get into video game music covers and remixes. Here it is what I've done so far (names are clickable links)
  21. Here's a small composition I made. If anyone knows any way to improve it, and is kind enough to share it with, then that would make me tremendously happy. If anyone doesn't know a way to improve it, but liked it nonetheless, then I'd be happy to hear it as well. You know, for my ego. https://soundcloud.com/jorik-bergman/riomp3
  22. Original: https://youtu.be/si8HiBgcg_U My Remix: https://youtu.be/PsDAdgGIynI Hope you guys enjoy!
  23. This isn't even mine but I'm posting it. If you need a track for a jungle level in your indy game, get in touch with this guy: https://supdoodle.bandcamp.com/track/safari Trev
