  1. Hello folks. I published new version of this cool theme from Undertale. I made some some changes to the previous orchestral version, adding piano, a little bit improved mixing and so on. Here is the original:
  2. I have been itching to work on another arrangement for what feels like an eternity, thankfully now that I'm finishing up with Uni I've finally had the time! Here's an orchestral arrangement of the opening music to Undertale; Once Upon a Time. The samples used are predominately from Spitfire's BBCSO, as well as Heavyocity's Forzo for brass, VI Labs Ravenscroft 275 Piano, Spitfire LABS music box, and for percussion I used a mix of Albion One and HZ Percussion. I'd love to know what you think and of course any critique is always welcome
  3. Yo! I made new orchestral arrangement for this Deep Castle theme from Mario & Luigi series. The original composition is beautiful and calm. While keeping the same feeling, I also transformed it a little more epic when the drums come in. The original:
  4. Hi folks, I wanted to share my interpretation on this theme. Golden Sun is one of my most loved games, played it when I was a kid and many of you probably know this theme/game, so I think no introduction is needed Also, I always write original music, so this is my first rework Please be merciful with your judgement!
  5. Hello. I really like this song. It's probably my favorite Nintendo song ever and I think it's criminally underrated. I think an orchestral remix would be cool. Kirby Super Star is one of my favorite games ever and I'd like to hear a remix of it (no pressure of course) or at least give it a listen. Anyway, here's the song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHRqcXV8vhk
  6. Hi there awesome people! I finished my new fantasy music composition, which includes elements like strings, piano and drums. Kind of waltz style. I'm interested to hear any feelings that might wake inside your soul, so feel free to give feedback p.s. I drew the artwork in Krita, if anyone is interested.
  7. Hey All! I started this remix after seeing a lot of other people on YouTube making remixes for their dream Smash Bros. characters. I tried to make it sound like music you'd hear on a stage in-game so I wanted it to be really epic and exciting. I'm still pretty amateur when it comes to orchestral composing so I was hoping to get some feedback on the quality of the song and some advice on where I should take it since it's not finished yet. A few things to note: I don't have access to any super high quality orchestral VSTs so I've been trying to squeeze the best sound quality that I can out of free VSTs and the ones that come with FL Studio The drum loop to me seems really repetitive, which is because I actually used an orchestral drum loop for the whole percussion section (I don't have access to orchestral drums either, lol) I'm still struggling with the mixing and mastering for the song. Balancing orchestral instruments is pretty tough and I'd be open to any advice on how to do a better job! I'm not sure if I'm using the various string sections (violins, violas, cello, bass) correctly. I kind of just put the notes in the places I thought sounded best I'd love to hear people's thoughts on the track and any feedback for making it better! Here's my track: And here's the original song for reference: Anyways, Dragonborn for Smash!
  8. New version out now! I tried making varying the velocities as well as adding some instruments to better suit the softer parts. I think I'm ready for review now! The idea behind this remix was to recreate one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite games. I always wondered what the Objection song wound sound like with some more oomph, so I tried it out myself. Libraries: Hollywood Strings, Hollywood brass, ProDrummer Old versions: Version 1 Source
  9. I finished my new original song "Virtual Quest 1". It's kind of futuristic theme, composed with video games, movies and animations in mind. This is my first release where I use synth and orchestral elements together. Here is the song: How did you feel about this song? I'm very interested to hear your thoughts about where you would hear this kind of music.
  10. Hi there! I released my original composition "Battle 1" on YouTube! Features orchestral instruments like strings, brass, choirs, big drums, woodwinds... When I composed it, I had this battle atmosphere in mind, but it also could be a very fast paced adventure scene :). You can listen to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0PPXemYoXU Feedback is much appreciated. For example, how do you feel the mix balance in overall?
  11. Hi! It's been a while since I've asked for feedback. I made an orchestral cover of the Mass Effect main theme. What do you think? Arrangement improvements? Mixing improvements? Instrument swaps? By the way, this song will not be submitted to OCReMix for consideration. Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. Update: My cover: https://soundcloud.com/willpisani/main-theme-mass-effectv10 Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVm_ljDSdwA
  12. I thought it was about time this classic game soundtrack got some love. This has been one of my favorite soundtracks since I was a wee lad, and I'm stunned that there is nothing on OC Remix for it. This is my first attempt in a long long time at a remix, and I think it has finally reached a point where it needs some fresh ears. There was going to be a much longer version, but I can't seem to get what I want to work, so after many months of piddling and getting nowhere, I decided a short version would have to do...for now. All instruments are from the EW/QL Hollywood series except the piano which came from Ensemble 88 (which came with my keyboard). This is the closest to the original as it sounded on my beloved Apple IIGS that I have found so far
  13. Hi there, I postet this piece almost exactly five years ago in a very early version (it was actually more of a MIDI mockup) and now in the last few weeks I've been working on it again very intensively. The whole thing was recorded with new and – hopefully – more realistic orchestral samples and re-arranged here and there. I would be happy to get some feedback, especially on the mix or the sound in general and what could be improved. Synthetically realizing an entire orchestra on a PC is really a science in itself (at least for me) and I must honestly admit that it took me at least two to three times as long for recording and mixing in the sequencer that for the actual composition in the notation program. On youtube with excerpts from both score and sequencer Thanks for your feedback Dustin
  14. Hey folks, there's a contest being held on a subreddit for covers of battle themes for games, so I decided to throw my lot in with this piece. Please enjoy!
  15. Hi all, I figured I'd post an original piece of music that I did a while back and was fairly happy with. Let me know what you think! Trouble Brewing I've been trying to create as authenticate an Orchestral template as I can in Cubase, using the Eastwest library, so any thoughts on authenticity would be great. Thanks for listening!
  16. Mute City - F-Zero Orchestral Remix OCRemix newbie here. I recently got into putting bits of music together and it's quite a lot of fun. I submitted this piece already but figured I'd drop it in the forum as well. Let me know what you think!
  17. If I wrote the soundtrack of a traditional JRPG, the airship theme might sound like this. What if there's no airship? Of course there's an airship.
  18. Hello guys, i made my own interpretation of a battle theme for an rpg like "Final Fantasy" for example. The beginning is inspired from "Donkey Country 2 - Welcome To Crocodile Isle". I still don't know how this piece should end, but i hope you will like it :). https://soundcloud.com/zoda/open-your-mind-battle-theme-wip
  19. Hi friends! I just released my 5th album Search for a Lost Reality!! Search for a Lost Reality is a concept album that encompasses the search and discovery of our own true identity. In this album I fused chiptune with modern electronic, orchestral and rock music with a classic video-game flare. Listen here: http://smarturl.it/searchforlostreality Lemme know what you guys think!
  20. Hello everyone. It's been a while since I posted, as the Army has been keeping me busy. This is supposed to be the Stark theme arranged in a sort of war movie hymn style. Thank you for listening.
  21. Hi! I want to share another music piece of mine, called The Tale of Twin Flame. It's an interpretation of rare romance phenomenon. I hope you guys enjoy it, thanks!
  22. Hello, I wanted to share two recent tunes here. the first one is an ambiant composition with female choir, 12 chord guitar, flutes, delays, textures and drums that conveys advanture and danger. The second one is a Metal track with guitar solos, bass fills with wah wah pedal and a heavy and tight drum. Hope you guys enjoy it!
  23. Hello fellow musicians and music lovers, I actually managed to complete something for once! Let me share with you this orchestral remake that I did of the classic 1989 tennis game for the good ol' Game Boy. (Link at end of post) From the Soundcloud description: In addition I might add that the track seems a little out of place for a tennis game. The feeling I get from it reminds me of sitting at a desk and finding myself lost in thought. Coming up with a plan or maybe mustering up the courage to finally talk to that cute girl in class. It has a hopeful vibe to it. "I'm going to do this, even if it is challenging!" My orchestral take on it just makes it way more epic! I'm kind of proud of it really. I'm setting this to "Completed" because it is "done" as far my initial intention is concerned. When I do finally get more professional sound material to work with in FL Studio I will consider it a new project when I try to make the transfer to that. Your feedback is still welcome of course. I already know it needs better mixing, dynamics and humanization. Maybe you can tell me what a good alternative would be to the bass alternating octaves at 16th notes. I figure that would be tough to play in real life? I rather not that the speed suffers. Enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/user-227517766/ace-on-me-gameboy-tennis-bgm2-remix Source:
  24. Hello again Here is another WIP for a remix I'm working on. I'm trying to create a medley comprised of tracks that feature a certain pattern of notes and have similar chords. I had the following in mind: 1. Aerith's Theme (FF7) 2. Halo theme - bonus ending (see video at end of post) 3. Mermaid theme from Donkey Kong 64 4. A track from Xenoblade titled "Thoughts to a friend" The status of this track is that most of the FF7 part is done. There is a notable drop of instruments near 1:10, which is where I last quit. The Halo part is probably 50% done. I need to work on the ending/transition to the next part, which is tricky because I have to go from 3/4 time to 4/4 time. Part of the mermaid theme is already in there at the end, but I haven't done any original work on that yet. It just sits there as a placeholder. I could use some feedback on the transition parts and the overall composition. I've used MuseScore 2 with some fancy soundfonts, but it will probably need to move to FL Studio eventually for more control over channels and humanization. I'm also taking suggestions for a more fitting title Enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/user-227517766/the-day-gamers-lost-their-girlfriend-wip Sources: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIqKWLkm2-g The bonus part starts at 3:20
