  1. Hi there! Once again I made a dnb-rock-styled track, but this time with the ORIGINAL melody, lyrics and (of course!) my own vocals . I was inspired to write the song by the story of "Green Boots" and the plot of the "Celeste" game. Each of us has a mountain that we want to conquer, and it often happens that when we get to the top of this mountain, we realize that this is not the limit and that there are higher peaks that we have not yet been to. The song is about that . Available on Spotify, Apple Music and any other music streaming service you like. And of course - Bandcamp! Thanks and have a nice day!
  2. Howdy everyone. My most recent submission was rejected, and I would like to ask for help! I am reworking some of the remix's composition, especially the beginning. I've posted both the submitted version of the remix [Reshiram/Zekrom] and my current WIP [Minccino] below. My biggest hurdle in re-submission is this: the judges' most prominent critique of this remix is the mixing, which to be frank is something of which I understand very, very little. I've tried to learn what I can over the years, but I always get lost in a soup of foreign terminology and differences in audio which I have trouble quantifying or sometimes find indistinguishable. So... I would love to find someone who could shape this up for me. (My DAW is FL Studio 20.) Otherwise, I would appreciate feedback in the most layman terms you can possibly give. link to the Judges Decision thread Here's the original version I submitted (and which was rejected): Here's my current WIP version:
  3. Someone mentioned this track at some point in the discord and it stuck in my head and I love it a billion, so I've been working on a remix. There's two versions of the track that I've seen online. Having never played the game, I represented them both. Originals in their various versions: Here's my remix: Enjoy, and lemme know if I should submit it as is or not.
  4. Hey guys! This one gave me a LOT of work, but it was fun! I went for a Liquid Tension/Dream Theater vibe (minus keyboard stuff), I figured it would sound great since it has all these different sections. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, hope you like it. Let me know what you think
  5. Dear OCR community, I have a small Youtube channel which features VGM focused on old DOS or retro games (Lands of Lore, C. Keen, Major Stryker, etc., see this link). Since 2017 we (my buddy and I) have been working on a full album of original independent and alternative rock music Wuxpoint, and we have our debut album out today on all mainstream platforms. This album features invited independent artists, some instrumental tracks, and a mixture of influences like electronics, acid-jazz, funk and beyond. We heavily used iconic analog hardware devices (Mesa Boogie, Bogner, SSL 4000, Roland Space Echo, old Eventide units, etc.) throught all the production process, resulting in a "retro" sound. The Single preceding this album is currently on airplay on 9 community radios in 3 countries (US, FR, LUX). If you'd go for some VGM feeling, I'd suggest you first check the following tracks: A raindy day (ambient electro) Downtown trip (outrun-like, driving your car near the coastline with some twists) Uptown mystery (P&C mystery rock puzzle) Farewell (acid-jazz vibes, Keen stuff) Recycled minicycle (Boss fight in hardware mode, including different boss patterns) Enjoy it at the following links: 𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘺 https://open.spotify.com/artist/4lquyxfpbX8y75TuhJ9iV2 𝘋𝘦𝘦𝘻𝘦𝘳 https://www.deezer.com/fr/artist/156634612 𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘦 https://music.apple.com/fr/artist/wuxpoint/1603565072 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘣𝘦 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnB-EzFSBR4od4werfrENqA Thanks dear OCR Community!
  6. Thanks to the talent of @TeraCMusic, @VelkkuEvilBastard, @pixelchips and @Dextastic, here is a remix from "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" to celebrate the holiday season ! A huge thank you to everyone involved in this project -- you guys are the best ! HAPPY HALLOWEEN !!
  7. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EFNHcmgTKX-XVvsCTZwJJ46WpIgkuuI1/view?usp=sharing Please let me know what you think! I whipped this up a few months ago and just realized I could actually post it here. It's very trailer-esque.
  8. Ready to have your face melted into oblivion via sonic decimation? The type of sounds you will hear are in the vein of the TB-303 and the Access Virus. Here is WIP 3 of Acidity! It's an acid synth fest with additional distorted synths.
  9. https://youtu.be/_xPqx0-ssXw Star Fox remix my buddy, Tee Lopes, and I recently had a lot of fun putting together.
  10. Here's a new original comedy song about dating apps! Let us know what you think. https://youtu.be/30zBNZ2a5B4
  11. A remix from a game that's not out yet... Why not? This song has lot of sentimental value to me cos this teaser song from Deltarune Chapter 2 (if that is what it's called) was released to Twitter by Toby Fox around the time my firstborn son was born. I had the idea for this cover/remix all the way back then, but because of the family situation the music making needed to take a backseat. Took me 10 months but better late than never, right? Musically I am in my comfort zone here - heavy but melodic - but I wanted to have a pretty faithful remix from the beginning and then go to my own direction still trying to sound similar enough to the original's tone. I played an octave down guitar riff around the middle, sounds pretty gnarly! Also this is the first time I actually played the keyboard parts myself, yay me! Enjoy! Original song by Toby Fox
  12. This is a playthrough video of the first single of VMK's debut album "Platinum Wings." A passion project inspired by popular shoot 'em up video games of the 1990's such as "Thunder Force," "Touhou," and "Raiden." 13. Here's a sequenced demo I made -- inspired by one of my favorite books. Before recording anything I'd really like to know what you guys think of it and what needs to be improved. Thanks in advance
  14. Hi there fellow video game music fans. I just released my new version of this epic theme from Strikers 1945 II. Devil's Tower is going to be hot... The original song:
  15. Hey guys! This is my take on the Stickerbrush Symphony theme from DKC2. I went for a Joe Satriani feel on the overall track, I hope you guys like it! https://drive.google.com/open?id=15bq3BVBAGtGuEGPSmdlFuQ5oAi8XNPI_
  16. Hey guys! I went for a 70's progressive rock vibe on the Mining Melancholy song from DKC2. I would really appreciate some feedback on my remix! Thanks in advance! Here's the track https://drive.google.com/open?id=19bdhBVMXV2Yw4JNO0EJePApFyERmksLt
  17. Did this for Dwelling of Duels this past month. Haven't submitted here yet, because I figure it might be considered too conservative. I can always go back and insert another part or two, but as someone who sometimes just enjoys listening to a straightforward take on a tune, I'm kinda reluctant to. So if anyone has any ideas, or thinks it's good to submit as is, I'm open to your 2¢.
  18. Small teaser for my latest album "Exit" (c) 2018 P.s. Also my other albums available here: Single - Inside Out New Single "Airdrop" Full Album Exit Album "Wind Between Us" (c) 2010 Album "Round The World" (c) 2015 My Piano Album "Dandelion" (c) 2014 Album "Letter From The Past" (c) 2011 Album "I Will Remember" (C) 2008
  19. Hi everyone, I always enjoyed the music from this community, so I decided to give it a try (this is my first contribution / submission). I made a Rock Medley of six Final Fantasy 7 songs: Birth Of A God (focus of the track) J-E-N-O-V-A Hurry! Main Theme The Prelude Opening Theme This is the link to my track (I made a video, showing when I play which song), please forgive my mediocre video editing skills: The original songs can be easily found on youtube (I don't want to make this post too large embedding all six videos). The dominant song in my remix is Birth of a God. This is the original: I hope you like it. Feedback is appreciated, of course. The_Music_Channel
  20. Hi friends! I just released my 5th album Search for a Lost Reality!! Search for a Lost Reality is a concept album that encompasses the search and discovery of our own true identity. In this album I fused chiptune with modern electronic, orchestral and rock music with a classic video-game flare. Listen here: http://smarturl.it/searchforlostreality Lemme know what you guys think!
  21. Hi there! I'm Paul. I'm new to this website so I'm not 100% how it works but, I've seen some really awesome stuff though and I'm glad to be a part of this community! I've just started my own journey of creating metal versions of classic retro (and maybe some modern) video game music. I've started with a very well known theme that's probably been done to death, but I'd like to think I put my own spin on it. A Swedish melodic metal twist perhaps? Anyway... here it is! Hope you all like it! Peace!
  22. Hiya! I added a cover of a Castlevania-song here, so I might as well plug my main band Evil Bastards From Hell. We play 80's and glam inspired Rock Metal but with a bit more of heaviness/dirt. As our motto says, "Sick Riffs, Dirty Lyrics & Rocking Metal" If you like Mötley Crüe & Ratt, but with a bit of Judas Priest thrown into the it then it's up your alley! Here's our new EP: Oh, btw I play the guitar and sing backing vocals
