  1. (Please be Aware I'm French, so my english is known to be sometime quite ... Frenchy. Sorry for that.) Edit : • 07/08 @22:57 GMT+2 : Fixed Version as Ready for review ! More info on Materials, and writing. Also Final Name ! • 07/04 @1:35 GMT+2 : Wip Update With bridge to part2 • 07/04 @08:23 GMT+2 : Wip update With Completed part2 with more source material (Sonic's Genesis robotknik(s), Final-Fantasy VI hear-alike, "Batman" hear-alike, and some other micro-cameos) Hello World ! I'm coming back from the dead since my OCR01946 of ... 2009 (with another account since I've lost the other one's email Long time ago). Anyway here it is, an "Orchstral" Rework / Whole new sight on the Infamous "2Players VS" of Dr Robotnik's Mean beans Machine. I think I've already heard the original tune going endlessly in mind-breaking loops for Something like 18h straight when I was younger. Two decades after that, I'm up with a W.I.P. of an expiation of sort. It's meant to be a First track of an upcoming series called "Eggman Plays The Orchestra" so it's voluntarily meant to be "huge" as a "catchy" announcement to what's coming next. As usual with me it's written with a lot of ostinato's and Staccato's, with distinguishable part. The main part's are written in 4/4 for the first one (Dr Robotnik Mean bean machine), and alternating 9/8 and 12/8 for the Second part (Mainly Eggman theme from Sonic & Knuckle as a base). The song name "La méchante Machine à Haricot" is a straight French translation of the "The Mean Bean Machine" locution, which fits quite well for Eggman's behavior and being, I thought. I Hope it sounds at least pleasant for your ear or your mind (if you have the same Sega's puyo-puyo trauma as I have). Hoping for feedback, hopefully the unpleasant one's are the most important to go through so... Don't hesitate to be rough ! Best Regards, C. The Song : • mp3 : http://www.brigato.fr/files/CBLMMAH.mp3 • Soundcloud : The Original Materials : More materials from : Various Sonic/S&K cameos, Final Fantasy 6&7 hear-alike (Intro from FFVI, Jenova from FFVII, Kefka From FFV6I, Decisive Battle from FFVI...)
  2. It's basically nearly complete, I just need a way to increase the lyrics volume without making it's own backtrack overshadow mine, in which you can't hear the originals track at all. Thanks for listening!
  3. Hi, everyone. Aside from a few entries on one of the ongoing album projects, It's been too long since I last submitted any remixes to OCRemix. I'm looking to change that. Here is a rough draft of a remix of Midna's Theme and Boss Defeated tracks from Zelda: Twilight Princess: Rough Draft: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KnMyYf46W7eDlUZW1lSlUyTDg/view?usp=sharing 1st Revision: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KnMyYf46W7c1pBLThUUldHS2M/view?usp=sharing 2nd Revision: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KnMyYf46W7bGtwWjlvV1VnWTA/view?usp=sharing Original tracks: A few particular things I'm looking for feedback on are: 1. The transition at 0:42. My aim was to create the feeling of suddenly waking up from a dream, but is the transition too abrupt? 2. Is the arrangement too conservative? 3. From 2:48-3:28 does the mixing get too crowded as more instruments are added? That has been a weakness of mine in past tracks. If there are any other issues with the track, I would most certainly love to hear feedback on them. I know the english horn sounds a bit wonky and I've been working at it to tighten it up, but sometimes it feels like CineWinds has a mind of its own. Thank you for listening!
  4. Hello! This is my attempt at making a remix for the notorious F.A.T.E. music from the MMO Final Fantasy XIV. I was going for an old school Arch Enemy (Burning Bridges era) and Nightwish feel, so it's heavy as fudge but with piano and violin accompaniment to make it also soaring and epic. https://soundcloud.com/dremorachurl/the-second-eyes Here's the original track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJSM4tAeEAA
  5. Just something I started on a couple weeks ago. I like the Fear Factory theme from DKC a lot and I've been on an 80s kick lately. I dunno. Could use a bit more variety I suppose? Link to WIP Original theme
  6. Hi everyone - I tried to mash up the FF6 Airship theme from the World of Ruin with Frog's theme from Chrono Trigger. This was a tricky remix, since individually these songs are stylistically independent. But I played the melodies over each other, and thought that it was a great enough fit to try a remix. I experimented a lot with different instruments for leads, especially for Frog's theme. Normally I would never use a trumpet but here, it felt just right! Hope you guys enjoy it!! Any feedback appreciated, good or bad. Always willing to learn to get better Remix Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opa-ADmpmsU Source (FF6 Searching for friends): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnvZ6Dqv7Ws Source (Chrono Trigger Frog's Theme): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp7PYi5b8jg
  7. Everybody Super Sonic Racing! I am looking for singers who want to help with vocals on this track so i don't have to use a spot holder. The vocals are currently being covered by a simple Saw till i can get my hands on the vocals for this song as I can not do this song justice with my singing voice. The final will not have the Saw in it and obviously an actual ending.
  8. Hi guys! About a year ago I submitted a Remix which got No'd with some constructive feedback. I went back into my DAW and fixed hopefully most of the complaints and critics. I hope someone is able to give me a review on the WIP and see what else needs fixing before I resubmit. Thanks a ton!
  9. Multi-Track Drifting Source: The Final Exam (The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks) Inspiration: F-Zero The original tune was composed by Manaka Kataoka, the lead composer for Breath of the Wild. So why not get some BotW hype started with some lo-fi orchestra hits? Comments welcome!
  10. Heard my roommate playing one of the asteroid levels the other day and I heard a lot of potential for this one track. Let me know what you think of it, I'm particularly proud of the solo
  11. The hot summer inspired me to make a remix of the NES game Star Tropics. It's a remix of the dungeon theme. It's still far away from being finished - but I hope you'll enjoy it. Original game track: >>> ---------------------------------------- Newest version of my remix: 1.4 >>> >>> https://clyp.it/ggch1nth Have fun and enjoy the awesome summer time! ))
  12. I had an old account that I hadn't logged into in about 7 years (2010) and needless to say I don't have that info anymore. If any of you remember Arsal, hey! Anyway, I'd been working on a remix of the Besaid Island Theme on and off for about 8 years or so and I finally reached something I liked a few months back. A bunch of my friends have suggested submitting it to OCR, but I really feel it's not quite there yet. Remix in question: And in case you're not familiar with the original source: Main things I'm looking for advice on are the drums and the ending. Some people I've shown this to say the drums are too repetitive. I personally love them as is, I'm more curious if it's really that glaring of an issue rather than advice on how to fix them. What I do need advice on how to fix though is the ending. It pretty much just exists because I don't wanna do a fade out for a song like this, but I don't think it's particularly good as is. I would like to eventually submit a remix of this song to the site, but I wanna get this version solid first even if it's not solid enough to submit. Thanks!
  13. Hey, this is the first time I've posted anything here! I'm a big fan of what goes on here, so now I'm trying to get involved. I'm a big fan of the NES Mega Man soundtracks, and battle music in general really. This track here is my favorite boss battle theme from the Mega Man series. Arrangement-wise I'm mostly happy with things. Though I've played music for a long time, there's still a ton I don't know about audio production, but I think this one is sounding pretty good so far. Original: Mine:
  14. Out of my first attempt of making a Maniac Mansion remix I've finally made a little bit more complex one. Check it out here: Original game track: >>> -------------------------------------------- Newest version of my remix >>> 1.1 >>> >>> https://clyp.it/y0v1j0f1
  15. Original Title: Forest Interlude Description: Forest Interlude is one of my favourite tracks ever. DK land is also one of my fav games on the GB, so I decided to make an arrangement based on DK Land II OST Style. Link to the Track:
  16. Hey guys! Just looking for some general feedback on this remix. I'm at that point where I'm not too sure what else to be adjusting / paying attention to. I feel like the arrangement / mix are in pretty solid spots, but I usually end up forgetting about / missing something. Always good to have another pair of ears. Of the top of my head, I know I want to go back to a few of the synth parts and make 'em a bit more entertaining to listen to / more dynamic. (Also heads up, I think listening to the stream on box distorts the sound a bit) Thanks in advance for your time. https://app.box.com/s/a2gcbj5uau85sn6mlx0kb5xog16dscm5
  17. Hip hop/Rock fusion. Need to add another half to the song: https://sites.google.com/site/vspaine/wips/Kingdom%20Plantae%20M.mp3?attredirects=0&d=1 Feedback appreciated. Cheers Original:
  18. Hi there, first post on the forums, but I was hoping on getting some feedback on this song I made a while back. Unfortunately,I got a little too giddy, and released it without really checking it over a whole bunch. First thing, I can't easily put out new version of the song to listen to because FL Studios does not like rendering out the song without some glitchiness/weird stuff happening to it. I'll have to fix that eventually ): but for now I can only post videos. A few things I know I'll fix is the panning and volume of certain instruments. I was working on speakers because I didn't have headphones at that time, but since then bought a nice pair and was hoping to fix that up. The other thing is the equalization! I really can't get the intruments to sound well/dont know how to EQ them properly, specifically the xylophones/flute. I'm using the EWQL Gold library and FL studios if that helps anyone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w7PUkkS2yI
  19. Hey up everybody - so I've been fiddling around with this for the last few weeks and figured I'd throw it up for any feedback/thoughts that people might have. It's a 7-string guitar, heavy, atmospheric, RIFFZ version of the absolutely excellent Mt Gagazet theme from Final Fantasy X which I have affectionately titled 'Riff Mountain' just because. There are a few fudged notes so I'll be re-recording chunks of it, I've not done a great deal of mixing on this and it has no mastering whatsoever because that's an arcane and unknowable art to me, but nevertheless- feedback would be appreciated! I think it's decent, I'm just not sure whether the arrangement is where it needs to be. Cheeeers!
  20. This is our first remix, uploaded to Soundcloud and feedback is appreciated. It has been recently submitted but, not yet uploaded to OCRM. Thanks a lot! Digital Season.
  21. I made this last summer and it would be nice to hear some feedback! (like:what you think of the genre choice compared to the original or if it´s interesting enough to listen to etc) It´s very simple (montuno piano and trumpet melody) cause it was intended for a cover (i just signed up here so i hope i´m using this forum as intended haha)
  22. Going back to my original roots and trying my hand at house music again. This time i thought should give some love to one of the must overlooked Sonic games of all time, Sonic CD! So who is the real hedgehog here?
  23. Break out the sunscreen and get ready to empty your shoes alot because its about to get sandy up in here. Be sure to keep those candles lit too.... damn ghosts! Any sort of feedback is appreciated!
  24. Soundcloud Link This is a remix that is a little different than normal. It took me a little while to think of what to call this. It's somewhat ethereal and surrealist in feel due to the echo, bending, and fading in and out of parts. This is an arrangement of Protoman's Whistle Concert, or the epilogue from Megaman III. I arranged the track for 16 french horns, taking advantage of a 4 octave range from G1-G5. I finished the arrangement fairly quickly and did the recording in about 4 hours, recording all 16 parts in a single session. I then spent about a week editing it. The editing was slow for 5/7 of those days due to me being out of town and only able to work while on the road when I wasn't driving (I split the driving with my wife). The editing was quite a monster task, using many plugins and effects, and extensive automation. I am satisfied with the result. Everything in this track is created with live recorded french horn and effects plugins. Nothing else.
  25. Once again, I decided to try to experiment with style and arrangement to make a unique take on a classic VGM theme! If I were to give it a title, it would probably be something like "Hunting for Ridley". Whadya think?
