  1. Hello everyone! I'm currently working on a Secret of Mana medley, with heavy riffs and cool orchestration. It is far from finished, but I thought I could do with some fresh and critical opinions to keep me on track, as I tend to over-listen my tracks when I'm working. Regarding the song, there is four different parts, and more to come: The intro, based on "Fear of the Heavens", but with a complete opposite feeling (hence the title). I wanted to turn the earie/mystery inducing feel of the original into something more like a fierce-warrior-marching-against-the-gods kind of epic stuff. I may have managed it (you tell me), but I feel the part still lack something, in the build-up maybe. The second part is made of really cool boncy riffs, based on "Dancing Animals", but I may have been a little to much side-tracked in the end. No orchestration here. As in the source name, I want this part to sound like a giant bear headbanging. The third part is the exact same thing as the first part FOR NOW, but I'm planning to give it more personnality in the future. I'm keeping the same kind of mood (and the same source, of course) The fourth part is a really lazy draft concerning "Spirit of The Night". I wasn't sure if I would put it here now or not, but then, it happened... ^^ Here, I want to have really emotionnal solos and this source is rather perfect for it (I personnaly call this part "Spirit of Metaaaaal"). The transitions are a bit off (mainly between 2-3 and obviously 3-4). I'm open to ideas! I'm rather confident regarding composition, I'm far less concerning mixing/mastering, so I am reaally open on this subject. Thank you for your feedbacks (and sorry for the poor english, it is not my mother tongue) The sources: The ReMix in progress: The old versions:
  2. Trying my hand at Electronica with possible my favorite S&K song of all time... Lava Reef / Hidden Palace Zone! S3&K was my favorite game and first game I ever owned (Yes I had both the S&K lock-on cartige and Sonic 3) growing up so I figured why not tip my hat to the game that made me love video games. Keep doing Great things SEGA!
  3. Once again, I decided to try to experiment with style and arrangement to make a unique take on a classic VGM theme! If I were to give it a title, it would probably be something like "Hunting for Ridley". Whadya think?
  4. Hello, My music track for review. The music is from The Guardian Legend NES game. Below the original tune. Original tune:
  5. Soundcloud Link This is a remix that is a little different than normal. It took me a little while to think of what to call this. It's somewhat ethereal and surrealist in feel due to the echo, bending, and fading in and out of parts. This is an arrangement of Protoman's Whistle Concert, or the epilogue from Megaman III. I arranged the track for 16 french horns, taking advantage of a 4 octave range from G1-G5. I finished the arrangement fairly quickly and did the recording in about 4 hours, recording all 16 parts in a single session. I then spent about a week editing it. The editing was slow for 5/7 of those days due to me being out of town and only able to work while on the road when I wasn't driving (I split the driving with my wife). The editing was quite a monster task, using many plugins and effects, and extensive automation. I am satisfied with the result. Everything in this track is created with live recorded french horn and effects plugins. Nothing else.
  6. Song Here : Tough Love - Undertale (Heartache) Changes - I've made the bass part more prominent and have more pop. - Added a trumpet part to the melody in some parts. - Added a tambourine. - Added some strings. - Made the piano part more stronger in parts where it should (Ex. At the end and at the beginning of certain phrases). - I've also removed a slight distortion in the clarinet(It sounded really muddy and gross) Feedback is greatly appreciated as it helps me get better at arrangements.
  7. Break out the sunscreen and get ready to empty your shoes alot because its about to get sandy up in here. Be sure to keep those candles lit too.... damn ghosts! Any sort of feedback is appreciated!
  8. Basically a piano rendition of Great Fairy Fountain where I took some of the motifs and structures of Chopin and combined it with the melody of the original song.
  9. Out of my first attempt of making a Maniac Mansion remix I've finally made a little bit more complex one. Check it out here: Original game track: >>> -------------------------------------------- Newest version of my remix >>> 1.1 >>>
