  1. Hi, This is a piano arrangement I made from ff10 : "Daughter of the Summoner" and "Someday the Dream Will End" I've the idea of these arrangements a long time ago, but I didn't manage to get sthg enough complete. By merger of these two arrangements, I feel the result coherent I'm afraid to have a little accelerate at the middle part (1'30). But, I think it's negligible. Is it annoying? Any feedbacks? Points to correct?
  2. Hi everyone - I tried to mash up the FF6 Airship theme from the World of Ruin with Frog's theme from Chrono Trigger. This was a tricky remix, since individually these songs are stylistically independent. But I played the melodies over each other, and thought that it was a great enough fit to try a remix. I experimented a lot with different instruments for leads, especially for Frog's theme. Normally I would never use a trumpet but here, it felt just right! Hope you guys enjoy it!! Any feedback appreciated, good or bad. Always willing to learn to get better Remix Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opa-ADmpmsU Source (FF6 Searching for friends): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnvZ6Dqv7Ws Source (Chrono Trigger Frog's Theme): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp7PYi5b8jg
  3. I'm trying to make this sound as listenable and polished as it can be, so if there's any feedback, that would be extremely helpful. I've made the track using Default VST's just tweaked enough to sorta emulate the vibe of the instrumentation, I also made this track with just the rough idea of the original song, then as It developted, I began using other VST and automation cips to make it more interesting sound-wise... that culminated in the Tabla break which came into my mind after I took a nap. Hopefully you enjoy it. That's what I want to achieve. Update: The song has been EQ'd and tweaked to be more subdued. Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX0hU7jQ5O4 The NYC Streets Break or Tabla Break has a tempo change and some changes in the strings chords to complement the piece in general and I didn't want it to sound like a medley. https://youtu.be/RgIE6Pb_MFE?t=51s And finally I threw in UNATCO's main melody in the very end. https://youtu.be/nBPK_oXeJgA?t=22s
  4. The hot summer inspired me to make a remix of the NES game Star Tropics. It's a remix of the dungeon theme. It's still far away from being finished - but I hope you'll enjoy it. 5. I had an old account that I hadn't logged into in about 7 years (2010) and needless to say I don't have that info anymore. If any of you remember Arsal, hey! Anyway, I'd been working on a remix of the Besaid Island Theme on and off for about 8 years or so and I finally reached something I liked a few months back. A bunch of my friends have suggested submitting it to OCR, but I really feel it's not quite there yet. Remix in question: And in case you're not familiar with the original source: Main things I'm looking for advice on are the drums and the ending. Some people I've shown this to say the drums are too repetitive. I personally love them as is, I'm more curious if it's really that glaring of an issue rather than advice on how to fix them. What I do need advice on how to fix though is the ending. It pretty much just exists because I don't wanna do a fade out for a song like this, but I don't think it's particularly good as is. I would like to eventually submit a remix of this song to the site, but I wanna get this version solid first even if it's not solid enough to submit. Thanks!
  6. Hey, this is the first time I've posted anything here! I'm a big fan of what goes on here, so now I'm trying to get involved. I'm a big fan of the NES Mega Man soundtracks, and battle music in general really. This track here is my favorite boss battle theme from the Mega Man series. Arrangement-wise I'm mostly happy with things. Though I've played music for a long time, there's still a ton I don't know about audio production, but I think this one is sounding pretty good so far. Original: Mine:
  7. Out of my first attempt of making a Maniac Mansion remix I've finally made a little bit more complex one. Check it out here: Original game track: >>> -------------------------------------------- Newest version of my remix >>> 1.1 >>> >>> https://clyp.it/y0v1j0f1
  8. Original Title: Forest Interlude Description: Forest Interlude is one of my favourite tracks ever. DK land is also one of my fav games on the GB, so I decided to make an arrangement based on DK Land II OST Style. Link to the Track:
  9. Hey guys! Just looking for some general feedback on this remix. I'm at that point where I'm not too sure what else to be adjusting / paying attention to. I feel like the arrangement / mix are in pretty solid spots, but I usually end up forgetting about / missing something. Always good to have another pair of ears. Of the top of my head, I know I want to go back to a few of the synth parts and make 'em a bit more entertaining to listen to / more dynamic. (Also heads up, I think listening to the stream on box distorts the sound a bit) Thanks in advance for your time. https://app.box.com/s/a2gcbj5uau85sn6mlx0kb5xog16dscm5
  10. Hip hop/Rock fusion. Need to add another half to the song: https://sites.google.com/site/vspaine/wips/Kingdom%20Plantae%20M.mp3?attredirects=0&d=1 Feedback appreciated. Cheers Original:
  11. Hi there, first post on the forums, but I was hoping on getting some feedback on this song I made a while back. Unfortunately,I got a little too giddy, and released it without really checking it over a whole bunch. First thing, I can't easily put out new version of the song to listen to because FL Studios does not like rendering out the song without some glitchiness/weird stuff happening to it. I'll have to fix that eventually ): but for now I can only post videos. A few things I know I'll fix is the panning and volume of certain instruments. I was working on speakers because I didn't have headphones at that time, but since then bought a nice pair and was hoping to fix that up. The other thing is the equalization! I really can't get the intruments to sound well/dont know how to EQ them properly, specifically the xylophones/flute. I'm using the EWQL Gold library and FL studios if that helps anyone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w7PUkkS2yI
  12. Hey up everybody - so I've been fiddling around with this for the last few weeks and figured I'd throw it up for any feedback/thoughts that people might have. It's a 7-string guitar, heavy, atmospheric, RIFFZ version of the absolutely excellent Mt Gagazet theme from Final Fantasy X which I have affectionately titled 'Riff Mountain' just because. There are a few fudged notes so I'll be re-recording chunks of it, I've not done a great deal of mixing on this and it has no mastering whatsoever because that's an arcane and unknowable art to me, but nevertheless- feedback would be appreciated! I think it's decent, I'm just not sure whether the arrangement is where it needs to be. Cheeeers!
  13. This is our first remix, uploaded to Soundcloud and feedback is appreciated. It has been recently submitted but, not yet uploaded to OCRM. Thanks a lot! Digital Season.
  14. I made this last summer and it would be nice to hear some feedback! (like:what you think of the genre choice compared to the original or if it´s interesting enough to listen to etc) It´s very simple (montuno piano and trumpet melody) cause it was intended for a cover (i just signed up here so i hope i´m using this forum as intended haha)
  15. Going back to my original roots and trying my hand at house music again. This time i thought should give some love to one of the must overlooked Sonic games of all time, Sonic CD! So who is the real hedgehog here?
  16. Break out the sunscreen and get ready to empty your shoes alot because its about to get sandy up in here. Be sure to keep those candles lit too.... damn ghosts! Any sort of feedback is appreciated!
  17. Soundcloud Link This is a remix that is a little different than normal. It took me a little while to think of what to call this. It's somewhat ethereal and surrealist in feel due to the echo, bending, and fading in and out of parts. This is an arrangement of Protoman's Whistle Concert, or the epilogue from Megaman III. I arranged the track for 16 french horns, taking advantage of a 4 octave range from G1-G5. I finished the arrangement fairly quickly and did the recording in about 4 hours, recording all 16 parts in a single session. I then spent about a week editing it. The editing was slow for 5/7 of those days due to me being out of town and only able to work while on the road when I wasn't driving (I split the driving with my wife). The editing was quite a monster task, using many plugins and effects, and extensive automation. I am satisfied with the result. Everything in this track is created with live recorded french horn and effects plugins. Nothing else.
  18. Once again, I decided to try to experiment with style and arrangement to make a unique take on a classic VGM theme! If I were to give it a title, it would probably be something like "Hunting for Ridley". Whadya think?
  19. Just thought I'd do some work with the Low Pass filter on my MPC, and rock some chopped up funky drums. Got a nice vocal sample from Greg Nice "Got's To Be The Shurshot" to add in more Hip Hop flavor. It's cool becuase it's a Hip Hop beat that's in the 3/4 time signature, which you don't hear too often. Also, I really went to town with some of these VSTs. I tried to use some of the most over the top synths that were still appropriate for the song. Just a little somthin to nod your head to. Hope you enjoy!
  20. Hello, My music track for review. The music is from The Guardian Legend NES game. Below the original tune. Original tune:
  21. Basically a piano rendition of Great Fairy Fountain where I took some of the motifs and structures of Chopin and combined it with the melody of the original song.
  22. A dance mix of Ice Cap Zone (I know it's overdone, but I'm a little new to remixing and I wanted to start out familiar with Sonic songs I knew well) that I made not that long ago. I considered it complete at the time, but it isn't quite as good as what I'm making now. [EDIT]: Revision 1: This is a fairly big revision, suggestions and criticism would be very appreciated. [EDIT]: Revision 2: Okay so now I think I understand decent flow and sound design and think I have something good enough for re-evaluation. Current Version of Remix [The One that is up for Eval]: https://www.dropbox.com/s/sj93vytk0ncj09g/Ice Cap Zone Remix [Very Revised].mp3?dl=0 Oldest Version of Remix (Just to show the serious amount of progress I've made since then & record-keeping purposes I guess): Original song: Thanks in advance!
