  1. https://youtu.be/Nw1CIsfYfo0 The winner of my poll for this upload was DKC2 which contains so many great songs, David Wise is a very talented composer indeed. I didn't plan on doing this particular song, I had thought about Lockjaw's Saga for a while. When I listened through the DKC2 OST I got some ideas for Lockjaw but this one, Flight of the Zinger, just spoke to me in another way I couldn't resist. So haunting, yet so beautiful, fits so well to the stage's surroundings. This remix kind of includes and embodies the current thoughts and feelings I carry inside me at the moment. Anxiety for having less time with my family (by driving 2 hours a day to work), the bad conscience when I can't put as much time on what I love the most (family and music), a bit of fear from starting a new assignment (it's always there, when going into something unknown). But as much as I feel that, I had a blast writing this remix, amazing original song that gave me many cool ideas to choose from. It also encourages to never give up what you really love despite how hard it could be to accomplish that. What did you feel when you listened to this? What memories do you have from this game? Thanks for listening! /Neon X
  2. Hey everyone, after almost a year of being busy, I went back to practice producing and experimenting and it turned out to be Trance this time! I know there's a surplus of Stickerbush Symphony remakes out there, so I hope you can still enjoy this one! Kind regards!
  3. aka "Brambles" aka "Stickerbrush Symphony". Playing the Donkey Kong Country series on the SNES is one of my fondest memories of my childhood and this is another magical track by David Wise and my favorite of Donkey Kong Country 2.
  4. UPDATE JULY 17th Latest version with slight mix tweaks. Bass gets its own little climax at the end of the transition / buildup so it doesn't feel like it just keeps hanging there. DESCRIPTION I decided to come back to a remix project that I never really finished to satisfaction. I shared an earlier version here on OCR and now I'd like to share the updated version. This remix combines two tracks from the Donkey Kong Country 2 soundtrack (SNES): "Bayou Boogie" and "Stickerbush Symphony". Original composer: David Wise. This is an updated version from an earlier attempt, titled "Swamped with Nostalgia" I replaced some instruments and added my own recorded bird song samples. After some problems with mixing I decided to go with a "less is more" approach and cut away samples and instruments to maximize the elements that I like. Newly added is the acoustic guitar chords, created by NI's Session Guitarist, which gives it the flavor I had been looking for but couldn't produce the first time. The transition between the two tracks now does what I wanted it to do all along! The overall structure and most instruments have remained the same. So has difficulty mixing and mastering (I slapped on a Maximus preset and tweaked that a little until it sounded right to me. Then came back the next day with semi-fresh ears to do a final tweak.) Here it is, for your enjoyment. [REMOVED OLD LINK. SEE LATEST ABOVE]
  5. So in an attempt to challenge myself and prove my insanity, I took David Wise's Haunted Chase and somehow someway turned it into a German Polka. I threw in Grant Kirkhope's Creepy Castle from DK64 too. This WAS NOT EASY to turn from Minor key to a Major key. But I did it. Somehow. and now...in retrospect...I ask why? I also made a music video...With puppets. That I built. Music Video: I also literally bought a German alpine VST just for this cover. HUGE THANKS to Luis Vasquez for Mixing/Mastering this stupidity. This is really my first legit professional (?) remix. I DO plan to submit this to OCR. Original Tracks:
  6. So I came up with this wacky idea to have an actual theme song for Krazy Kremland. I managed to kobble together this "Its a Small World" version of "Welcome to Crocodile Isle" with a tad of the Gangplank Galleon thrown in. I also wrote partial lyrics to it that I had the idea of a "Nuka World" style chorus singing to it. Its a Little Isle of Talking Crocodiles Krem Land's really fun if you avoid the bees Rides have Broken tracks and there's a lot of bees Its a Little Isle of Crocodies Come down and Stay A While And you'll see Lots of bees lots of bees a few trees and more bees Its a Little Little Kremland after all! I'm debating if this could be OCREMIX worthy. My samples are crap, but its a bit forgivable because its all calliope music. I suck at mixing, and singing. If anyone wants to collab on this and make it better I'm all ears. I also plan to make a music video with puppets of this. Example of my previous DK puppet video:
  7. This remix has been a work in progress for a long time. I wanted to mash together a number of favorite tracks from the Donkey Kong Country and Land series of games. I had a lot of trouble getting things to work well together and ended up pretty much abandoning the project (very disappointed). I decided to swap out a few instruments for the new FLEX synth in FL Studio and managed to at least finish the thing. It is definitely not at the quality level where I would have liked it but I don't want to really continue working on it either. I'm posting it anyway. I still find it personally enjoyable PS: ever since I started sharing tracks on OCR I've been having this nagging voice in my head that keeps saying "They're sure to point out the lack of humanization". This is one of the toughest things to get right for me and I don't need the added pressure from voices inside or outside my head Now, no one is actually putting that pressure on me; its just my insecurity. I'm trying to let it go, as well as weird ideas of supposed expectations people have of me.
  8. Hey guys! This is my take on the Stickerbrush Symphony theme from DKC2. I went for a Joe Satriani feel on the overall track, I hope you guys like it! https://drive.google.com/open?id=15bq3BVBAGtGuEGPSmdlFuQ5oAi8XNPI_
  9. Hey guys! I went for a 70's progressive rock vibe on the Mining Melancholy song from DKC2. I would really appreciate some feedback on my remix! Thanks in advance! Here's the track https://drive.google.com/open?id=19bdhBVMXV2Yw4JNO0EJePApFyERmksLt
  10. I decided to import my older remix into FL Studio and see if I can make it better using proper VSTi's. The result is a more relaxing version which features some of Spitfire Audio LABS' free stuff (synth pads and frozen strings). It still needs some tweaking, and I'd like to get other people's opinion on the overall balance between the different sounds/layers (my ears are toast!). I'm definitely happy with the vibe of the piece though it would be nice if it were longer. Then again, longer might make it boring after a while. Things I'm already aware of: pads need smoother transitions and maybe some dynamics automation drum beat needs to be less robotic What do you think? Anything I'm missing? Previous version for reference:
  11. First submission here, I wanted to share my orchestral remix of DKC 2's Haunted Chase. Mostly orchestral...I added in a bunch of door slamming type effects to capture the feeling of going through the level's gates. Original: -Juke
  12. Original Title: Forest Interlude Description: Forest Interlude is one of my favourite tracks ever. DK land is also one of my fav games on the GB, so I decided to make an arrangement based on DK Land II OST Style. Link to the Track:
