  4. This is what I have so far: http://www.newgrounds.com/projects/audio/1034740/preview Constructive criticisms welcome. Edit for evaluation: Source (original VGM): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3jl0fTTvHk Current version of remix: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/712132 The only difference between this and planned submission is the addition of rapping. If it's submittable now, it's submittable as a full rap song.
  5. Hey OC Remix folks! We are DrKrake vs Jellyfish. We've been remixing video game music for quite a while (since 2009), but never really felt the itch to submit anything to OC Remix. Instead, we had a short-lived run on Newgrounds and mostly only uploaded our tracks on YouTube on random occasions. For this Christmas, we decided to release all of our stuff in a big free package and did so in the Super Musical Entertainment System! It's a massive collection of 33 tracks spanning various electronic music genres - trance, goa, house, hardstyle, and everything inbetween. You can grab it (for free, of course) on Bandcamp: drkrakevsjellyfish.bandcamp.com Most (but not quite all) tracks are VGM remixes. As a little special for the OC Remix forum, I'd like to list all tracks with their original sources: 147 (Intro) - not a remix, but uses samples from F-Zero X (N64) and Nagano Winter Olympics '98 (N64) Welcome to Marihuana Kart - trancy remix of the Mario/Luigi/Royal Raceway themes from Mario Kart 64 (N64) Voll Auf Stern - short remix of the infamous Starman tune from many many Mario games Fuckin' Party - hardstyle-ish remix based on the Cameroon theme in Super Soccer (SNES) Snowland - trance-ish remix of the Frappe Snowland theme from Mario Kart 64 (N64) Finish Line - trancy remix of the Mario Circuit theme from Super Mario Kart (SNES) Super Club Bros - housy remix of the infamous main theme of Super Mario Bros (NES) Ein Erfolg - short remix of the Level Clear theme from Super Mario Bros (NES) Romanina - trancy remix based on the Romania theme in Super Soccer (SNES), uses Nina's voice sample from Tekken 3 (PSX) Stellungswechsel - short remix of the Change Court theme from Super Tennis (SNES) Tor für Deutschland - football goal theme based on the Ireland (nope, not Germany ) theme in Super Soccer (SNES) Clowns R Funneh - not a VGM remix, but a remix of the Clown College theme from The Simpsons Archives - psytrance-ish remix of the Archives theme from Goldeneye (N64) How High Can You Get? 16. Spent a week on this thing, mostly trying to compress and reverberise without it sounding like complete garbage. I've been playing the guitar for over ten years and have written lots of music over the years but never really learnt how to record or use DAW's. I only found out what compression did about 5 months ago, which is embarrassing. So, still learning the vast nuances with actual music production and 'sonic space'. I was originally going to use the old six-string for the lead bits in this but couldn't get a recording that didn't make my ears bleed, I don't even have an audio interface and the only hardware I DO have is an Akai - LPK25. All the samples I've used are free ones and so are the VST's. Original:
  17. Hey there! Thought this was as good a place to start as any now that I'm wanting to get active on the board. This is a remix I did around a week ago of a track I really enjoy from Sonic Heroes, the Emerald Challenge theme. It's mostly electronic and house influenced, and while I didn't intend it to completely branch out arrangement-wise, I think I got a few nice ideas in there. I considered throwing some guitar and bass work in there too, but alas, it didn't work out. Here's my mix. Gonna mark this as Finished since it was indeed finished by the time I posted it here, but I'm open to making improvements.
  18. Here are some of my recent and old projects I've worked lately. As of now I trying to revive my soundcloud and youtube out of their graves but anyway I hope you guys enjoy. 20. Hey guys, been listening to lots of OSC artists of late and it's encouraged us to get back on the video game remixing after a few months away from it. Here's our newest remix, Spring Yard Zone. The original song was a sleazy verse and cheesy chorus to begin with, so we've tried to further stretch the sleaze and cheese! Ha! It's somewhere between RnB, FutureFunk and good old cheesy 80s electro Hope you enjoy it and happy remixing everyone OSC
  21. Hi erverybody. I did this last week so let me know if you like it. I tried to make it salsa and peace. Thanks for your comments.
  22. Hey everybody! We just finished a video of our newest cover from Sonic and would love to hear your guys thoughts! This is an arrangement I made that was heavily influenced by this very strange album from MACINTOSH PLUS (here: https://beerontherug.bandcamp.com/album/floral-shoppe), as well as some timba music I was listening to at the time. Enjoy!
  23. I'm looking for sega genesis sounds, specifically sonic 1, 2, 3, 3&k I have searched and searched and I'm kind of frustrated because I can't seem to get anything to work on garageband, because that's the only program I have at the moment. I have found the Ultimate Sega Genesis Soundfont but garageband wont read all the different instruments in the .sf2 file, I need to split the instruments to separate files, but after trying that, they would have no sound. I have searched forums and nothing really helpful either, maybe now that it's the end of 2015 something has changed...? I hope so! If you know something please share it!

  25. Hey everyone! It's been a looong time since I've posted anything, or have even been on the OCRemix website haha but over the course of a few days, I've put together what I think is my best video game remix to date. It is a jazz version of Hydrocity Zone. My composition is a combination of acts 1 and 2. It was done completely by myself and made entirely in FL Studio 11. This is a WIP because I still need to adjust volumes and finish the improv section, which you will notice is the part with just the drums and bass. If anyone wants to be on this track, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. It would be neat to have another artist from the OCRemix community improv on this track. The cover art for this track got effed up so it looks really bad but I'll fix it. Take a listen and let me know what you guys think!! Also, how do I change my username on here? lol https://soundcloud.com/brian-williams-20/an-evening-at-the-hydrocity-cafewip
