  1. I don't know how often remixers check out these suggestions, if ever, since artists might prefer to create by inspiration, but I wanted to take a chance. Have you thought how well the SMW and YI castle themes might fit together? Well, of course, you might say. YI is a sequel after all. Right, and it's only fair that someone should combine them together! Here's what I've got so far (sorry this is unprofessional but I can't describe this as well as I want): Begins with first 10 seconds of YI Castle Switches to start of SMW castle to 21 seconds Resumes YI to 18 seconds, but in the same tempo and beat as SMW Resumes SMW to 40 seconds Repeats YI 10-18 seconds Resumes SMW to 50 seconds Themes switch back and forth sometimes combine together I wish I could somehow get the music out here the way it sounds in my head but this is the best I can do. (I would even record myself humming it if I knew how to upload it here) Basically, the two themes are stretched to fit together and jump around each other while sometimes riding the other, all in a groovy rock song. Think I'm on to anything?
  2. Ah yes, how could I forget all of that. Fun races became difficult torture and you got too much work for too little reward. And I had so much trouble with the race against the octopus and the bubbles I nearly lost my mind. However, I did enjoy searching for the hidden keys in the tracks.
  3. I should know this, what did you mean by the "jump through a ton of hoops system"? It's been awhile since I played the game. I do remember how I hated trying to control the planes and hovercrafts, and the coin challenges were annoying as anything. One thing I did like was the booster systerm where let go of the A button when you hit a zipper and you would go faster. It was a great feeling. Sorry for the late reply.
  4. Isn't that the same music from the Bowser battle in Super Mario World?
  5. Oh yeah, that's another one I like! I can already hear a loud rock remix of that playing in my head. "For pigs the bell tolls!" *rimshot and booing* For some reason the space songs were the first to come to mind. Maybe all of the track songs could make good remixes.
  6. Dave Wise can cook up some great soundtracks, and Diddy Kong Racing is another good game with good music. The three space songs include Spaceport Alpha, Star City, and Darkmoon Caverns, and could hold some remixing potential (especially Spaceport Alpha). You could make a medley out of 2 or 3 of them and I think it would sound good as rock, orchestra, or a combination of genres. A few remix names that come to mind include "Monkeys Return to Space!," "Planet of the Chimps," and other corny names like that. What do you think? The website Galbadia Hotel probably has a DKR soundtrack.
  7. I agree! I love it too. In fact, I plan to play it for an upcoming recital. The song is prety easy until the last page when it changes to a different key with 5 sharps! But I've almost memorized it now and looking forward to surprising people at the recital. Video game music can rock!
  8. Hello again everyone! I had an interesting idea for a new OCRemix youtube video someone could make, if they desired. (I would like to make this myself but I don't have the right equipment to do it) Hre's my vision for it... Song: Sonic & Knuckles rAAw Battery OC Remix by Jivemaster Video name suggestion: S&K Battery Zone: Fully charged and highly caffeinated Video: It starts out with no music and Sonic or Knuckles are just beating the boss before the level Flying Battery Zone. The boss leaves, they look up and see the overhead ship in the sky, and (possibly) the shot has been edited so the name of the song and/or video is printed on the side of the ship as it passes by. The character then enters the level and the song begins. At first the video is just different shots of the 2 levels from Flying Battery Zone, but soon it starts to get completely insane (just how I like it). There are different shots of other Sonic games/cartoons/etc. with crazy things happening. I thought it would be cool to have shots of characters in machine levels, and maybe some neat clips from Sonic X or other cartoons. Scenes could be edited to fit the music so they are sped up, slowed down, played backwards, turned upside-down, or the colors are inverted. (I also thought it would be funny to have some characters from Sonic X, like Eggman, move their mouths to match the words "It's a battery!" in the song) Specific scene ideas: In the Battery Zone, Sonic is getting thrown up and down by those large swinging balls. In Sonic Adventure, Metal Harbor, Sonic is bouncing across the flying robots. Super Sonic is shown in many games pulverizing the enemies. Thank you for your consideration. I would love to see this happen. Sorry I didn't read any of the following posts made here.
