Yo. I'm new-ish here. I <3 the FF series, and Castlevania

I swear to god I'm stealing that name someday and using it for something. The movie Hackers would have been SO much better if this was a name in it.

He's being silly and pointing out that one of the reasons that people are being friendly to you so quickly might be because you're one of the few ladies on the forums.

That, and as I stated before, your name is excellent.

So yeah. I'm from Finland. And no, there are no polar bears here and no, it's not -60 C cold here. I'm a girl. At least I believe so. I listen music 24/7. I like some anime series, such as Bleach, Yakitate!! Japan, Serial Experiments Lain, Samurai Champloo and AIR.

What else... My IQ is 135. I love rain. I have 6 piercings. I play Warcraft, Final Fantasys, Zelda + 1000 other games (and YES, I still am a girl). I hate Hugh Grant. I love autumn. I own a cat. Blah, that's enough about me...

Don't get me wrong: I might be "newbie" to these forums but I've been around OverCloked Remix for... gosh, I cannot even remember how many years. I was just too lazy to register. Then suddenly I got this urge to write reviews to my fav remixes so here I am.

Off to write some reviews...

//p.s. some people might remember me from AHS

That's good. But do you love Rainman?

Actually pretty good, at least compared to the education level around Europe. Well, NOKIA comes from here, so...

But do you love Rainman?
If you mean that thing in your siggy... I gotta confess I don't even know what it is. If you mean yourself... ummm, sure?

:o Someone loves me! :o

The thing in my "siggy" is a picture of the game art for Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, remade for the GB*C* and titled Link's Awakening DX (hence the reference), and a picture of Ansem from Kingdom Hearts in honor of June As End Boss Month, respectively. The other crap is fan badges.

I was referring to me.

I'm Kanthos, a programmer and soon-to-be remixer/arranger. I'm from Canada, and am just finishing off my masters in artificial intelligence. I play piano and sax, as well as dabbling in a few other instruments like various percussion (including drum kit and mallet percussion), bass, and clarinet. I've never done any remixing before, but have a lot of good ideas for a few songs, so I'll hopefully be submitting remixes here soon. I listen to about 45% jazz, 20% classical, 25% game music, 5% musicals (Rent and Wicked especially) and 5% rock/other (mainly U2 and Great Big Sea). I play World of Warcraft (Kanthos is a level 45 mage at the moment on Steamwheedle Cartel), Oblivion, most Final Fantasy games, and various other RPGs.

07-03-2006, 06:11 PM
Hello there... I'm Felipe Cotti, 18 years in this planet. Living in Brazil, more precisely in an egg called Belo Horizonte. (everybody knows somebody directly or closely indirectly, it's incredible.)

Since 1999 I had contact with the INTERNET. I passed through the ICQ fever, years later I spent almost 2 years in the extinct TotalFF Forums, it was such a nice place. Then I became a blogger, just some months before almost every brainless teenager in Brazil started having one. Then I had contact with RPGMaker, and a very basic of ROMHacking/translation... Then I met Chrono Trigger ^^', that I still think it's the best game of any style of any console ever.

I love gaming-related issues, but I never got too much deep information. And about 2, two and a half years ago, I started messing with music, my actual passion. Until I turned 15, I never payed too much attention to music. Then I watched "Wayne's World" and the car scene where the protagonists perform Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" defined me. Soon I defined my musical style, that can be resumed to one thing: I damn hate 95% of actual music in a general way ^^'. I love game music though; I think that it offers even more potential options than "normal" music.

Well, there's much more about me, but if you guys wish, I'll tell in another way.

Regards to you all,

Cotti.

Ps.: I visit OCR regularily for almost 2 years, but never came to the forums ¬¬'

Hey OCR, I'm Eli, a.k.a 173 and am now 16 years of age. I've been listening to OCR for a few months now but I never joined the forums. I decided to do so when i met analoq and another mixer (I forget who, sorry) at the Anime Expo in Anahiem. I felt bad because i didnt really know who they were, but im new, but they told me about themselves and they were both real cool guys.

I can't say i've ever really made music, but i love listening to it. I've been really into music for quite a while now. Some bands im listening to now are, Fishbone, Cibo Matto, Razed in Black, Bis, One Block Radius, and Buckethead to name a few.

I've been playing games for as long as I can remember, but now i've branched out and instead of only playing video games i play a good amount of tabletop games as well.

I don't know what else to say, so i guess thats it for now.

Hello, mah childrens. I am Tekk, 17 years old, and I've been coming here sporadically to get tunes for a year or two now, but I figure it would be boss to stick around this time. What got me into this site was a love for videogames and a local DJ at the college radio station in my town who plays a funky specialty show. I've been listening to music my whole life, been passionate about the drums for five years or so, the guitar for a month, and hopefully I'll be able to mix once I become more intelligent on the subject. Yeah...see ya'll around.

Hello all. Name's Eric, 20 years old. I came here under a friend's recommendation.

I'm a huge video game fanatic (who here isn't?). I love practically everything that has something to do with video games, especially the music... I guess that's why I'm here. I've been playing games since I was three... I guess that'd make me pretty experienced. I love nearly every type of game, except RTS games. Like my sig says, I'm here to critique (and enjoy some good music), not post remixes. Hope to get to know everyone!

Hey whats up guys? My name is Shaun, 25 years old, from Menomonie, WI.

I've been playing video games ever since the NES days and i bought a used atari right around the same time! :D I've loved the music of video games ever since i've started playing but never really got into collecting the music until about a year ago. I just love the OCRemixes of my favorite tunes. Some of them i dont like as much as the originals but most of them i think are great! Hope to see you all around the forums. Looks to be a very big community here!

Hey there! I have been making Game remixes since 2001.

I also became obssessed with the music from Drakengard two years ago. I mean COMPLETELY obsessed. So much in fact, that I went to my old school music teacher Mr. Burke, and asked him to help me take three songs from the game, and convert them into a composition for the school orchestra........Trust me it was a long three months. The reason I did that was because I wanted to change certain parts of the song....and to extend other parts, namely Chapter 6: In the air.......and Chapter 10: on the ground.

Aprt from that I usually make my own mixes at home.
However.....These have been all on a program called Music 2000 for the ps1 (yep still using it even today in the age of 2005.) I also started using Music Generator 3, purely because you can rip from cds to your songs.

I have ALWAYS been interested in video game music. FRom playign Super MArio World and falling in love with the forest of illusion theme (and the vanilla dome one), I've always had a clear interest in vg music. First inspirations include Super Mario bros 3, Super R-type, Mario all stars, Sim city snes, and the legend of Zelda link to a past.

I've also been following this community since 2002. Love that Street Fighter 3 Mcaffee theme! And...so many others. I've seen so many other music sites come and go, such as vgmix.com, and that midi game music website....in fact that was my first ever music site that i went to regularly. Good to see you haven't kicked the bucket and are still alive and kicking! (Personally I liked it when it was more blue around here, but hey.)

Yeah so I@m just saying hi to the ocremix community. Hopefully I@ll be able to upload some songs in the future. I would have uploaded my Drakengard orchestra remixes....but they use real insntruments....and I@m not sure if they're allowed. So I guess I'll have to start trimming my music 2000 and music generator songs fit for public use!

Once again.....thanks everybody! For contributing to video game music and helping it stay alive!

Hello all! My name is Jason, A.K.A. JSMc. I'm 23 and I live in Orlando, Florida. I've been a big fan of the OCR site for three or four years now. I just started listening to VGDJ about two months ago, and since have become interested in the community. I've even gained interest in creating my own remixes; something I've never thought of before. I'm no stranger to forums, so I know all the rules that apply. Anyway, I hope to get to know everyone and become involved in the community.

One more thing, I've noticed that most people use punctuation and correct grammar on this site. It's very refreshing to see that on the internet.

Err... hi. I'm K-Star. I'm an 18 year old Nintendo fangirl and I love the music on this site! I first discovered OCR when I was searching for the background music from when the save/load robots do their thing on Mario Paint and I ran across the remix for that music when I googled the song. That particular music used to scare the crap out of me but the remix here helped me overcome that fear. (I was searching for a rendition of the music just so I could try overcoming my fear without hooking up the SNES and playing the game because I didn't know how to hook it up, nor did I have my parents permission to do so.) Since then I've downloaded many other remixes and I've made a remix of my own that I'm considering submitting but I doubt it's good enough at all.

Hi, I have been a long time downloader and just thought I get into the community. I registered a few months ago, but I was too busy to do anything. Heres a little about me. I am a gamer, not a big one because I have some other stuff I need to do. I help manage a gaming clan, and im part of the call of duty 2 division. Im currently going to college and starting my business in a few weeks. Im a programmer, web designer, and graphical artist. Im studying computer science in college and will get my business completed after I graduate.

I love this site, the music, and just looking around I like the community. This site is really awesome, I do not know how I came here, but i am glad I did. Expect me to donate a few times later in the year.

If you ever need help with computers, programming, web design, or anything else you can always ask me. Ill be looking around in the community and posting too so ill find a few tech problems there. Thanks for the awesome site and remixes. You guys are really great!

Hey sup. I've been coming to this site for ages now. Really I love the music thats made here. Its just good fun and its interesting to see the different styles of music that are out there and what certain songs can be remade into. I like when a remix surprises me though where I'd go "whoah I'd never think of that". I joined really cause I'd like to share my opinion on some things and well maybe make a few requests. Also my interest in remixing someday myself would be another. But thats enough of that and once again hi.

Hello everyone! My name is Blake, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada! I'm a new fan of OCR (just discovered it a few days ago), but I've been enjoying video game music for the last 4 and a half years.

I'm a fan of video game music, I watch anime (specifically Kamisama Kazoku, and I'm a Dragon Ball addict) on a irregular basis, I'm learning a bit about the powers of Wikipedia (heh heh), I like hockey...and I'm 14 years old. That sums it up.

I'm not much of a rearranger sadly at this state (though I want to try Propellerhead's Reason), but I'm interested in learning the art. Mostly I'm here to have a great time!

Well, I hope I have a cool time here and get to know everyone all right!

Hi all.

This would be my 2nd post. Had a quick look for a newbie thread but obviously missed it

First off thanks to all the contributors for such a stunning array of game soundtrack remixes.

As I said in my previous thread I've always had an interest in music reproduction - especially in gaming. It's been a very inspiring trawl through the tracks on here and hopefully I'll find some time to submit one myself.

Thanks again :D

I'm an avid anime fan and a fan of Eurobeat/Techno/Gabber and lots of other types of music from all around the world. I'm a fan of Genesis games like Toejam and Earl and PuyoPuyo, and also enjoy strategy/simulation games like Civ4 and Command and Conquer. I plan on enjoying myself in the unmod forum. have a nice day

Erico-Super Bard
07-23-2006, 03:39 AM
Greetings all! Erico the Super Bard, at your discretion. I've been jamming to this site for years, and using it for all sorts of creative inspiration for my writing, first in my Fanfic days (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/55667/)

and now afterwards, as I aspire to be what many dream of being; a published author. I find I can't really write anymore without some track or another pounding in my ears. As a matter of choice, I've loved Mega Man first and foremost, but time and experience has taught me to appreciate some of the other things available.

"Eutopia Pegasi", for instance, is one Remix I'll stick on repeat for days when I'm slogging through tender moments. Love the airy vocals on that.

I play my DS when I've got the time (Which isn't much), I write when I don't have time, and I'm always, ALWAYS listening.

What is done here is one of the grandest, most noble things being done on the internet. Through reinterpretation, you reawaken old nostalgic dreams...

And create new ones. For that, I thank you.

Thank you, all of you.

-Erico

Hello all. I've been a fan of this site for...oh, since I was twelve. About 5 years now, so I decided it's time to give my input on this wonderful website (quite a while to figure that out, I know). Anyway, I have been involved in music ever since I can remember, and video game music appeals to me the most. Actually I am currently working on a remix. Hopefully, all goes well, and perhaps you'll see it here :D.

I have also been an avid gamer since I was about 7. Like many, Super Mario Bros. was the first game I 'mastered'. I believe I beat it in about 7 minutes once. I have played many other games across the platforms, but I'll remain a Nintendo fan to the end 8).

Hope to see you all soon,
~Robo

Why hello there. I am GregZor and I come from the far away land of OverLooked Remix where I have been an active member for about a half-year now. I love alot of the remixes at this site.

You do like Puyopuyo.

So I was shuffling through the memberlist today and I stumbled upon my old account here that was last accessed nearly four years ago. By a seemingly random stroke of luck, I remembered the password and decided to revive this idle account (I was going to register a new one here today anyway).

Anyhow, a little background info about me: I'm Psythik (formerly known as ScYtH pre-2005), I'm 17 (18 in August) and I live in Arizona. I have about three years of musical experience under my belt, and about a year and a half in writing/composing/whatever you want to call it. My favourite music genre is Trance, but I also enjoy all kinds of music, including Hip-hop, Jazz, Rock, Classical, etc.

I plan to eventually do video game remixes, however, I am still very much inexperienced when it comes to making music; I would like to learn so much more before diving into the world of OCRemixing.

If anyone's interested, you can check out some of my work at the following sites, to get a taste of what I can do:

http://music.download.com/psythik - Currently the homepage to my music downloads. As of this writing, only one song is available, which so happens to be my latest complete creation at the moment...

http://myspace.com/psythik - Home to some of my older, early creations. I would not consider most of these songs to be high-quality works, since they were created from me just messing around in FL Studio in the early stages of my music-making hobby (hence the reason why they don't appear on my download.com page).

http://psythik.net and http://psythik.com - I've been planning on creating a website to host my music, however, after nearly a year of buying the domains and establishing hosting, that Coming Soon page is still there. I do have a half-way-finished design for the site, but with me being somewhat of a perfectionist, I will not open the site until I'm 321.2468% sure that everything is ready to go. :P

Now that I think about it, I have no idea.

I found the word when I was looking at a Gaelic dictionary website.

I'll look for one.

Edit:

Gaelic Name: Nathair (Approximate pronunciation: na-CHair. N, a in cat, T as in
Chin, h - silent, air.)

That's funny, I could have sworn there was a "í" in it.

I want to learn how to remix and make songs again, but I dont really have money to spend. (not anymore...) Im sorry if you've heird this alot (and I know you've did), but can you link me to some current topic that helps me to learn how to use any remix programs? I went through it a could of times, and alot of the links were dead/topic deleted.
(I also check on how much bad judge results on the remixes...just....wow o_o)

Greetings and salutations "young blood" and welcome to the world of the OCR forums.

With being new, it is understandable that you are reluctant to post, worrying about you embarrasing yourself and all, but worry not, for that is all part of 'growing' here.

The first place you guys should start is the "training grounds" known as general discussion (http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=1). That is the portion of the forum where you can talk about basically anything related to the world of remixing and gaming, as long as it is work safe of course. Please do refrain from asking for any sort of "requests" in any form, be it remixes to programs to osts. OST requests, as well as anything besides freeware/shareware, are frowned upon here, considering that they are illegal, but of course if you are searching to purchase said ost or program, you are more than encouraged to do so, as long as you are polite in how you address your question :D. Also, if you wish to request a certain remix of a song to be made, you are more than encouraged to post your request here (http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=2). Please do keep in mind that your request will not always be answered, so do not have your feelings hurt if your thread does not get any replies. It isn't anything personal, it is just that remixers are busy and often do not have time to do a remix for you, but you might get lucky, so don't hesitate to ever at least ask :D

Once you feel that you are ready to gain your 'sealegs' and explore the rest of what ocr's forums have to offer, you should explore Politics Philosophy and Religion, where you can find many different discussions on many of the more 'controversial' topics on people's minds. Please do keep in mind that everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether you agree with it or not. It is NOT encouraged that you engage in a 'flamewar', also known as agressive arguement, with anyone on this forum, regardless of the reason. You will risk getting yourself warned and even banned. It is not worth risking your account, as well as your 'good name' tarnished over a silly arguement, now is it?

If you ever have any technical issues regarding....well....anything technical, then post your questions here (http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=23) *which happens to be the exact portion of the forums that we are in righ now :D*. Please do keep in mind that it is a technical assistance forum, so do not ask anything about remixing in any form or about anything random. Remixing questions and advice can be saught here. (http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=7) Please do refrain from asking the basic question of "how do I remix?", of course :p

Noticing those nifty little images that people have under those posts and want one of those for yourself? Well, thos are called "signatures", and there is a special place where you can go to request to get one of to call your very own! The "Ye Olde Sig Shoppe" (http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=41441) is just the place for you, where you can request just how you would like your signature to be made. Please do read the first post of that thread in it's entirety so that no confusion may come up between you and whoever may see your sig request.

Having problems with your coding? seeing and wondering why it isn't simply hyperlinking instead? (ljekjelkjdlkjelkjdlkjd) Well, this thread (http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=85913[/url) will teach you all you need to know about how to use the coding the forums use. At first it may be a hassle to learn, but once you memorize how each function is done, you won't soon forget them :D

Well, I hope that covers everything. If you guys ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I am always available to help out the every day new guy. I was once one, I know how it was like :D

Goodluck and happy posting!

Hi. Doulifeé has stored all of the badges (that's what they're called) on his webpage. These were taken from the "Unmoderated" forums (which I don't recommend posting in until you get a good idea of how it works.), in a thread dedicated to these badges. Douli has organized them alphabetically, so you should be able to find what you want. If you don't, try PMing him or one of the great sig makers this site has, and ask for a badge of the theme you wish.

First of all, I feel like an dumbass for posting in the wrong forum section, in a new thread. :) Prior to posting a new thread, I actually looked for a introduction-section, but completely missed it. Guess I need glasses after all...

Anyways, to make things a easier, hers my introduction-post again, this time posted in the right thread:

Greetings fellow game music lovers. Smile

Since I'm new around here, introducing me properly seemed to be a good idea.

I'm a 26 y o hobby musician, mainly dealing with rock in its many various forms. Ever since I first heard the title theme for Bubble Bobble, game music has always had a special place in my heart. That's a relationship that has lasted for 18 years so far.

I've been into music making for about 10 years, and has developed some decent skills during that period of time. Currently I'm working on an arrangement of the Kakariko towns theme from Zelda. Yeah, I know it's been done before, still, I hope I can make something fresh out of it. I have some ideas for an arrangement of the title theme from Iron lord as well, so if the judges here at OC remix finds some potential in my first rearrangement, I might be encouraged to take on the challenge of remixing Iron Lord as well. Might post a work-in-progress mix of the Kakariko arrangement to recieve some feedback as to whether I'm heading in the right direction or not.

Some of my favourite game themes are: Iron lord, Monkey Island, Zelda, Gianna Sisters, Mega Man e.t.c.

Just view my profile, should you be curious to find out more about my interests.

This took too long to write for it to only be seen by two posts a page back.

Mario Murderer
08-29-2006, 09:38 AM
Greetings, fellow Video Game Remixers.

My name is Mario Murderer (aka MM). I have a huge interest in music in general. I am a HUGE Deep Purple fan ever since when I was 2. I'm 15 and I play a guitar, I can also play Drums, Keyboards/Piano, Bass, or any other rock instrument. I don't know how to read music, though, I teach myself songs.

Some Bands that I currently like are:
Deep Purple
Megadeth
AC/DC
Queen
Led Zeppelin
Metallica (are OK)
Pantera
Marilyn Manson
Slipknot
Drowning Pool
Crush 40
Hardline
Axel Rudi Pell

My favorite Guitarists are
Ritchie Blackmore
Steve Morse
Joe Satriani
Dave Mustaine
Marty Friedman
Angus Young
Darrell Abbott
Mick Tompson
Jun Senoue

Ritchie Blackmore is my hero.

I have a lot of favorite bands, but they're all too many to list. I recently saw Deep Purple live for the first time in May in Sydney (my home town). They were absoloutly amazing! I'm in a band, and we might post up remixes sometime. Hey, if you wanna chat about music or anything, just give me a PM and we can become buddies.

Cheers!

Hi, everyone! My name is peristalsis and I've been following the site on/off for a few years I think. I've been wanting to get into ReMixing since who knows when, but studies and other stuff's gotten in the way. I believe that's about to change, since I currently have lots of ideas and, hopefully soon, you'll be hearing about me in the ReMixing world.

Hello and welcome to the boards.

Make sure that you read the tutorials, especially Gorveg's (http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=85913). It'll teach you the basics of posting (and expected behavior, I think).

One little tip though: try to avoid using copious amounts of emoticons. They tend to clutter a post.

For the sake of your sanity, I recommend you either stay away from unmod or stop bringing attention to your gender or your self image.

In fact, unless you are japanese, drop the -chan, it'll make your life a lot easier.

This is the eshman checking in. I've been visiting the site for a year or so now and it feels a lot like my home away from home. I've been wanting to get into the remixing scene for quite some time now, but I'm going to beef up my PC first, so it'll probably be sometime towards the beginning of next year before you see any work by me, if it makes it through the panel.

'Til then I'm working on game development and design albeit as a side hobby. You can check out some stuff by me here:
http://www.gamingw.net/forums/index.php?topic=49444.0

and here:

They're basically in-the-works stories and game development, but it's a sample of things to come.

Hey all. I've been visiting this site for years now, downloading remixes. Got led here looking for a remix of Shadow's theme from FF6 and lo-and-behold here I am. Just wanted to say hi, and figured this would be an OK place to put a big "thank you" to all the judges and remixers that have worked hard to make the music aspect of this site what it is. Hell, I've started playing games just based on a good remix :D

Anyways, I figure I might as well join the forum aspect a bit cause I get bored at work and feel like I could stand to fill the gap.

Hello, patrons of OCRemix. I call myself Twilight in Zero. You may call me that, TiZ, or Trent. Whatever suits your fancy.

I've come to the site for quite a long time whenever I wanted to hear a unique take on a song I really liked. Nothing I've heard here has ever disappointed me, I'm glad to say.

I'm highly anticipating the site projects Summoning of Spirits and Project Chaos. I check the site projects board every day to see if PC's come out yet, and I've been following SoS since early 2005, though I've only just now started posting on the boards.

Since I've said just about everything I think is neccesary to know about me, I think I'll stop here. I hope to enjoy you, and hope that you enjoy me.

alright, after my stumbling introduction, I got slammed, and the treads locked.

So maybe it was a good idea to look around, and find this forum.

I just paly for fun, and am rated about 14-1500 on yahoo.
I prefer blitz, 10 minute games are fine, as I can get thru openings quickly.

Personally? I am a HUGE fan of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. I go to as many shows as I can each year he tours\ wnet to Gainesville "homecoming", and Atlanta, and also with my g/f in Mansfield ( great woods).

I am a longtime poster on the Heartbreakers message board, and on the Bill Maher messageboard.

I've heard that downloading AIM slows the computer down, so Im reticent to do so.
I don't speak "computereese"/ so please don't load me down with tech specs.
Just hold my hand and tell me

No worries, man. Might I make a suggestion about easing yourself into the OCR community? The best thing you can do is to simply lurk about the forums for a little while, just until you get the vibe of the forum. Read the FAQs, don't post "favorites threads," and try not to piss people off.

When in Gen Disc, just be casual and yourself. When in PP&R, be open-minded and don't act stupid. Oh, and enter UnMod at your own risk.

Be a "newbie" not a "n00bie."

As for AIm slowing you compy, I can't say I've heard anything of the sort, unless you're operating on a stone age machine. I don't know, personally, as I use Trillion (http://ceruleanstudios.com/learn/) for all my IMing, rather than AIM.

Just as a side note, most of my stuff, if not all of it, will be recordings of live performances... Cause I write for the little groups I do at school. If anyone would like to make a request on what song they would like me to try, just let me know. Hello newbies and welcome.

Hello everyone.
I've known about OCR for a long time, but I never registered. The reason is, I've been composing and arranging for a couple years, but until this past summer I knew absolutely nothing about electronic sampling and production, et cetera. I'm still studying up on mastering skills, so when I feel confident enough to do so (and maybe when I get a VST pack) I'll start busting out remixes of my own. :)

I think thats a fair statement. I, for one, can't play a single instrument, and wouldn't know where to start in making a mix. The one thing people in common have on the boards is an interest in video games, and music. Not necessarily in making music.

Ah...I'm not good at these things people like to call "introductions". I'm just an average boy obsessed with anything and everything videogames or music (hey, whadda ya know?)

I've been a fan of this site for a long time, ever since I discovered a correlation between the remixes I'd found on dogpile a year or two ago. I'm trying to become a composer, but I've yet to figure out what I'm doing (I got Fruity Loops about a week ago, and I'm starting to get the hang of it)

Beyond this tinkering, I go to school, work at Wendy's, march, and play WoW.

I was at Video Games Live in Seattle last year, it was the best night of my life. I've decided to become slightly more active on the OCRemix forums beacuse I want to maybe become a submitter someday. I've recieved good imput and plan on sharing more of my Sax solo's to OCRemixes here in the hopes of getting good enough to start writing chords. You can hear one of my solos here, http://www.zshare.net/audio/a-storm-in-the-desert-solo-mp3.html

Hi.

Im new here.... I only really discovered this site about a month ago, and I suppose that the vast number and variety of songs on this site really influenced me to try doing my own remixes.

Hi all! I'm new here.

...

No, really. I haven't been on these forums for what, two, three years perhaps? Can anyone tell me what's happened since way back when? I left roughly around the time Spram's mind snapped.

I see.

If I was able to sing, I would provide a song, but for now, think: We didn't start the fire...

Spram Snapped, he left the forum
Vortex became a stripper
Mahaboo's a pimp lesbian
Sex-ed thread, orgy thread
Hi thread Bacon Thread:

We didn't start the flame war, it was going on, ever since the place's been live.

Ghost of Dave thomas, Force of light,
Someone died, Unmod RPG delight
Anime Remix, Guy's wife's pics
New titles, more banning and an all out board war!

We didn't start the flame war, it was going on, ever since the place's been live.

Twisted and Sera, gorveg's alts
flame wars, Prot's banned,
Tragedy, comedy, and a sidebar that killed many!

We didn't start the flame war, it was going on, ever since the place's been live.

Unmod.org, Unmod wiki, Pixie tricks
New judge, new shirts, new podcast
More remix, and a new server!

We didn't start the flame war, it was going on, ever since the place's been live.

Obviously, I will never be a songwriter.

Greetings everyone, I've finally decided to join the forums instead of just lurking to find good remixes. I've been here a lot of times but never thought about what the forum is really used for aside from reviewing the remixes. Now that I finally joined the community I will hopefully be able to start learning these music terms spoken so much on these forums(I have no idea what SID/Bassline/synths to give a generalization of what I don't understand) The goal is to finally be able to remix music myself.

Hey, re-introducing myself. I'm link89. I've been a member of JZForums for 2 years and a listener to OCRemixes for about 5. I'm a sucker for anything Zelda or Final Fantasy.
Thanks, I hope I can be an active and valuble contributer to the forums.

Hello and nice to have you on the forums and I look forward to hearing your music.

I love your sig, btw!! Haha!

Hey, Wassap, I'm Hirosuke. Well, thats my alias. TimE, I have a strong suspicion that your name is Corey Bero, from my US History class.

About my personality: I'm cheeky and sarcastic. I don't have a problem with you untill you annoy me, wherein I will inform you that you have done so. Tell me if I piss you off, and I'll apologize, simple as that.

Anyway, I'm currently working on a Protoman mix in FL Studio demo 5.0, and it isn't going well  . I could seriously use advice. AIM is Malkavian Crowt, and EMail is Jeranthehero@yahoo.com, I would appreciate if someone with some talent (READ: everyone but me  ) had a listen to what I have so far and critiqued me.

My hobbies: playing games (like you WOULDN'T have figured that out already  ), watching movies, farting, writing poems, playing paintball and hanging with my friends... :P

I can be quite sarcastic at some times (read: all the time) but i'll hope you people have enough patience to handle the gibberish which i type here, okay?

I'd like to post some of my works here, but they aren't remixes, so yeah~~~

Watch out, it's another obligatory "I'm new" post from a newbie...

Hi there! I've been visiting the forums for at least a year now and have never really had much to say, but I figured it was about time to register anyway. Hopefully my stay will last longer than 5 posts and I won't have too many people calling me a noob, but beggars can't be choosers.

So, yeah - that's about it. Hello!

Arek the Absolute

Hello all,

my name is Timothy Anderson, but i just prefer Tim, i mean saying my full name would be a waste of perfectly good time when you could be doing things like painting a picture or something...anyway i'm rambling now

I joined in the hopes of contributing some stuff, or just helping out with any projects that go on here.

i'm 20 years old, from australia (yes the stories you have heard are true) and currently i am studying music production..apparently next year i'm supposed to be a registed Pro Tools operator, apparently i get a t-shirt from Digidesign for free, bless their hearts :D

Hopefully i'll be submitting some stuff of my own, but for the moment i got a few more video game themes to work on and some short film stuff (useless update 5)

So if anyone wants help with anything like mixing tips or wants a free mastering done (still working on getting perfect at it) drop me a line

Thank you,

Tim

So Hi

vgnerdmaster
11-09-2006, 02:15 AM
Greetings and salutations, all.

I'm vgnerdmaster, or DP if you want to call me that, all my friends do. I'm 19, currently sober (actually I never drink but I thought it was worthy of mention), and just signed up obviously. I've been around the site itself for awhile though, just decided to finally register.

I don't have issues posted on the forums, but I probably won't bother with it much. Too busy with college and actually listening to the music done by skillful people. But who knows, I might get some crazy urge to review all the songs I love. It'd also be fun to do a little remixing myself, supposing I can figure out what the heck I'm doing and actually do something decent. OCR has great music to be sure, but it's lacking in battle music.

Oh yeah, those torrent things. They didn't work for me awhile ago, but now they do. So if anybody needs to yell about bandwidth, blame me, since I've been html-ing for the past however many months for however many songs... Not that I'll pay attention to the rage or anything.

Anyways, thanks for the warm welcome and the useful information Arek, as well as calling me a "young blood." I'll remember that one.

Now to find a place for my actually important question and the reason I finally registered.

Hey. I'm new here, and it's a bit nerve racking, considering you all (or at least most of you) are older than me, me being 14 and all. Anyways, I've been listening to the songs here for the past few months, and I just decided to join. I have at least 40 of these songs on my mp3 player, and although the other kids at school find it odd that I may be listening to video game music, the songs here can be very good. I want to make songs like these when I get older, as I'm starting to get into the programming bis myself. I can make small .midi files, and small computer programs. I'm hoping to eventually make songs as good as some of the ones here, as a large amount are proffesional, and could help me with my future proffesion. I'll let you get back to whatever you were doing before you decided to read this, as it's late, and I've got school tomorrow :P. See ya.

I find the usage of those short forms to be a bit annoying. It really degrades a person's outlook. Like, I'm really into mmorpg's and other online games, because I like to play games with other people. I don't like talking to people who talk like that, it makes them look stupid, to be blunt. It's funny that I usually type at least twice as fast as everyone else who talks in short forms, so even when I type with perfect grammer, spelling, and punctuation, I still type faster than the other people. I use computers way too much, but it's just too much fun. I also love the video game genre of music... lyricless techno, I guess. I find that most lyrics in songs are degrading. I like video game music, because for one it usually has no lyrics, and two, it always has some melody and keeps to it, changing it a bit in a predictable fashion. I also dislike random things, or chaos. Songs that I listen to many times become better for me each time I listen, because it becomes more predictable.

Well to come back to the original meaning of this thread.

Hello! i'm 360Degreez, and finally found what i'm looking for right in front of my nose.

I'm an amateur musician and since i played the game "Zelda" on the NES i love the tunes used in games that are meant to be catchy, simple an not boring after being looped 20 times.

Motivated by OCRemix i've just started on a Dance-remix of the Zelda3 (a link to the past) intro-tune (yes, the one with the rain and thunder) and i can't wait to give you guys a preview just to know what you think of it.

Now... let's look where i can upload tracks.......

See ya later,

Paul (360Degreez) from Holland.

As far as music goes, I attempted composing back in high school, but sort of fell out of it at college. Now the most I do is jump onto the piano when I hear something that sounds interesting to play (including original video game music, as well as many of the remixes here).

Proficiency: Piano - high, Violin - mid, Guitar/Harmonica - low

I think that's about it... oh, and Hi Bahamut!

Greetings all!
I have been listening to the amazing remixes on OCR for almost a year and now I finally decided to get my lazy ass into gear and register on the forums. I must say that I appreciate everything this site has offered me, half of the songs on my iPod are from OCR. :)

Anyway, that ends my short but meaningful intro and I look forward to contributing somehow, I am not much of a ReMixer but I am sure there are other ways I can help. Anyone need and webspace? lol :)

P.S. Props to Zircon and Pixie, just found VGDJ recently and I can't get enough of it.

Howdy folks!

Same as the guy above, I've been visiting the site on and off for probably the last four years, and I'm just now getting around to registering! *L* I've got a pretty decent collection of original work from the site already spanning all genres of games and music. I really like the idea of responding to admiration for someone's work with original contributions of your own- in essence it sets up a dialog between the works and provides venue for mutual fans to discuss favorite memories and moments.

So yep, that's me! Occasionally a bit long-winded, but overall a nice guy! ;) Thanks to all the mods and contributors who have made this site possible!

Hehwo, my name is Homeswar RUnner, and this is a Websi-eyi-eyi-eyi-wait.

Ahem.

Let me start over then.

I'm XFactor, formerly known as X, sometimes called xonic, and othertimes having put an Infinity after my name. I'm new to the whole ReMixing thing, I've always been interested though.

If I seem familiar, that's because I'm an established member at STC-Online, the unofficial STC comic continuation, and a random load of spriting sites. If I'm not familiar, it's because you've never been anywhere near there. :p

I'm sort of an oddball, will do things slightly crazily, and, OH YEAH! I'm insanely hyper as well. Hyper. Hyper hyper hyper. Wanting sugar sugar sugar. Now-er now-er now-er? Er, I guess. Like monkeys guess. With pie. Or not. Maybe the pie is cooked OVER NINE THOUSAND degrees, thus burning it to a healthy CRISP.OF DELIGHTFULLY BUTTERSCOTCH FLAVORED DOOM.TO UBER COOK THE GREATNESS OF IT ALL.

If I didn't make sense right there, don't wory, you're completely normal. If I did, then I love you, will you marry me? Please?

...anyway, I hope I don't accidentally get meself banned like I never have done. (I always say that at every forum I've ever joined and I've never gotten banned so there :p)

Well, I'm off. I haveta perfect my remixing technique. I pretty much suck right now, to be honest.

I enjoy PMs that are random, and I enjoy PMs that are round. I also enjoy cherry flavored ones. PMs that have ReMixing tips are WELCOMED. My grandmother is Irish. Three men went in a bar, carrying a large mirror. The sun is a mass of incandescent gas. I HATE BABIES....
*talks like this for days on end*

...and that was how I slayed the dragon of ForestLand.

Wait, you're all asleep!

...That makes me sad.

Hello. My name is Joe or The Faceless Pianist. Whatever you'd like to call me.

I like video games and music a lot, so I decided to join up. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time on my hands to do a really cool, involved remix but I do plan on doing a few piano things. Hopefully, I'll become a better pianist in the progress.

Here's a little about me in general. I enjoy having philosophical discussions, biology, reading, eating, riddles, and word plays. I'm a laid back sort of guy and I'm not afraid to be honest. I look forward to meeting people because meeting people is fun!

The Unmod forum is a really good idea. I assume it helps keep the other forums nice and clean. And thanks for the cookies. I like cookies that don't kill me :).

Hi, I'm FrozenHope. As a music (and remix) lover, I wish I'd found this place sooner. So much hard work and inspiration has gone into these songs that anyone who visits this site and takes a look at the songs is bound to realize video game music has just as much quality and potential as other types of music. This place has definitely inspired me.

Hello! The name's Ashleigh but I prefer to be called Ranger-270.

I found this website just a few minutes ago, and I must say it's a good looking site! I heard about OCReMix in a gaming magazine I used to read, but I never got around to visiting. I'm female, 15 and I live in Australia. I'm a BIG video game music fanatic, and all the music on my MP3 player is video game music. I also own a PS2 and DSLite. I'm a Metroid fan-girl, and now own Metroid Prime Hunters.

Hope to see you all 'round mates!

This forum is strange as fuck.

You newbies may have less trouble adjusting to these new forums than the ones who've been here for a while.

Good luck.

(WHERE THE HELL IS THE QUOTE BUTTON? Oh, found it.)

I don't know, the vBulletin is hella faster than phpBB2 on my home, slow-as-fuck connection. But I also have images disabled, so I wonder if that means anything.

I've lurked for over three years now, no idea why I've never made an account.

I'm continually amazed by the amount of talent present here. Although I've never attempted a mix myself, I do realize the sheer amount of work that goes into each one. Keep up the good work guys! :)

Welcome all. Enjoy your stay and for the love of all that may or may not be holy never ever accept home made baked goods from the denizens of UnMod except on the second Tuesday of each month.

I'm just kidding of course, don't accept them then either. ;)

Hi everybody. I'm a proud 15 year old Texas resident/OCR enthuisast. I've been coming to the site for quite some time, and am a big fan of many works, but it took me this long to become a member. I know a few people from IRC, and would love to meet more. Feel free to get ahold of me on aim or whatever.

Well, I probably win the award for "longest lurker ever"... I've been here since AE was around. (and I still wish he'd submit more mixes - his Mega Man stuff is amazing)

I have no idea why I haven't made an account until now, just lazy I guess... *sheepish grin* I'm into mixing now myself, use FL 6.4 (yeah! beta!) and a bunch of VSTs.

What else... well, I play trombone. I'm a Texan. I like Monty Python. I believe that FFVII wasn't the greatest game ever made. (oh noez!!11!) I don't find Dane Cook funny. I prefer Pepsi. My favorite TV show is Metalocalypse... Basically, I'm an odd one. And I do firmly believe in the pudding snacks.

Hullo, all. I've been coming here since it had the remix prefix and finally decided to check out the forums, so I figured I might as well post in here. I don't have much else to say about this thread, so that's it.

Some have comps running with downright obscene monitor resolutions and when viewing on a comp with a lower resolution pics appear huge. Basic sig rule is don't try to be an ass (ie. purposely stretching a page). Just try to accommodate all parties involved but understand that sometimes that isn't possible.

As for your English, you're doing very well. As long as we can get your point, and I must say a very fine job you did, all is swell. Welcome to the boards.http://www.ocremix.org/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif

Ja, I'm new here. I actually registered about a month ago, but didn't bother to post until now.

I'm currently working with FL Studio 6, but I won't be doing any remixes until I figure out everything there is to know about FL Studio and how make music not suck, which will probably be a while.

(Also, my name was originally going to be "Big Jack", but I accidentally put in the wrong email address there, and had to create a new account, so now I'm stuck with this stupid zero in my name)

You leave my very welcome alone!

Also, people ought to put more thought into their user names, methinks. Being stuck with something like n00b15#2 is not very becoming.
