Hi OC Remix community, my name's Drew. I'm 18 years old and I'm a hardcore gamer. I mostly play shooters, fighting games, rpg's and action games. I'm also not really new to the site, rather new to the forums. I've known about the site for about a year or so, just never registered. The music on this site kicks ass, just thought I should say that.

Hiya! Foxkibble here!
I've been listening to the amazing tunes here at OverClocked for a couple years now,
and decided to Join the forum and post around.

Keep up the awesome work Peeps!

New guy here. I'm a sound designer working in the game industry. Previous projects have included Bionicle Heroes, Tony Hawk's Project 8 and Neverwinter Nights: Wyvern Crown of Cormyr. Currently working on a 360 project that I can't really talk about.

Anyway, I've been known to play keys in bands on occasion, and I sometimes rip up game tracks when I have a free weekend.

Glad to be here.

Yeah, I've loved the awesome compositions and great artists this site boasts for a while, as well as the discussions it hosted. I noticed how there are a lot of serious gamers like myself here, and there were a few benefits I could have from posting here. Well, ironically, my main question was answered before I posted it.

On Mike Tyson's Punch Out for the NES, I had no idea how to do the special punch. I noticed in the demo that there was some special move, that was really good and would help me. I tried for soooo long, all these complex button combinations.

And then of course, I find it that all you have to press is Start.

I felt like a total fool, but I figured I would post the incident anyway; it's pretty funny.:)

Yo, it's a pleasure to finally be able to talk to some of the awesome people who make all this fantastic music, and all the great folks here on the forum. I've been a lurker for a few months now, and a listener for God-knows-how-long. I decided to join the elite ranks of the OCR forum when I realized that 99% of every other video-game / music / well-anything-really related forum was pure crap.

Well, that's about it. I can't make music worth a damn, but I enjoy character design and art in general... I'd love a chance/ excuse to show off any of my stuff around here, sometime!

I hope I won't be too obnoxious as a newb! Thanks, see you all later.

Hey everyone! Just signed up on the forums. I've been an OCremix fan for a long time... and been wanting to compose/remix for even longer.

About Me:

My real name is Trevor. I'm 22. Going to school for Vocal Performance major on scholarship. Apparently I can sing, so they give me money. lol I'm thinking of going into Game Design though... its been a dream of mine... problem is, i have MANY dreams. So i'll probably end up being 80 and doing everything on the planet, and never settling. lol

I'm into competitive powerlifting, but i'm not a fatty like most of them. lol I lift like a powerlifter and look like a bodybuilder. I'm also really geeky. I listen to FF Piano Collections when I lift. For some reason, it doesn't relax me, it motivates me. Crazy huh?

I just bought a Keystation 88es. I looked up some reviews by others on this site, and I went and tried it out. I can already play so i'm not worried about learning.

I hope to get to know you all, and learn a lot on composing and remixing.

~Peace

I'm Jere, but when I write I go by Altus Audacia because it's latin and has that consequent "foreboding destiny" about it. I essentially quit everything to be a musician and resolved to launch myself to fame and fortune by introducing my music through several mediums such as this (I'll garner support, then start a Jere-should-be-famous petition...), so I'm currently working on a few remixes. Been a fan of this site for many years, it'll be nice to eventually contribute.

I sure read a lot of it, though :-P . Well...I'm a lurker no more! :-D

But I still have dial-up!

'Morning all. I've been listening to OCRemix for about 4 years now. I was stoked when we finally got the radio feeds. Online gaming gets much, much more satisfying when the right songs are playing. I'm an IT Tech from Texas, Microsoft Certified Professional, and college student. Which is good, because it's easier to pay the bills when you've got a great job. Hope I get to know a lot of you well, and further hope I can get some music out there. Currently, I'm working on mixes using Linux distributions and open source applications. Not that I wanted to make anything hard on myself, just wanted the challenge. Other than that, I play guitar when I can, and I record live with some friends as well. A few of those sessions eventually get remastered, but who knows?, maybe they'll end up here one day.

Look forward to hanging out with you all!

Hey I am new, well just new to the forums.

I am Amesuki, I am fifteen, and I love Retro Games. I live in England, and I also own many keyboard, but my new laptop doesnt support them >.<!

I am a boy!

Well my favourite music artists are:
The Prodigy
MSI (Mindless Self Indulgence)
And Sex Pistols.

I love Retro Gaming and I own over £4000 worth of games and consoles. I currently have around 30 Consoles! And 1000 Games, so I tend not to get bored! Weird enough I do have a girlfriend. I was in a band called Systemize, but that went down the pan.

Anyway I hope to get good tips on Remixes and also meet some cool new friends

Just steer clear of unmo....oh, never mind.

I'm sad now... Seriously, I ship out to IET, and come back to find out like a quarter of the board got banned in the Sidebar Jihad, and then within a month, the Forums shifts, Unmod gets nuked, and VGDJ goes belly up. I seriously feel like I did when WizKids took over Battletech, I'll get used to it, but it won't be the same.

Anyhow, Newcomers, enjoy the new OCR!

Not really a newbie but I'm thinking of returning to these boards after what has to have been nearly 2 years. So I guess to most people here I am new.

I must say the first few topics I've looked at have somewhat dampened my enthusiasm for returning, especially seeing that the artwork that used to form a signature has gone rather downhill.

In short, I'm a guy in England, a guy who likes other guys (OMFG QUEER!!!!1) and someone who doesn't have much tolerance for idiots.

At my core I'm a nice person though, even if I do come over a little more aggressive than I intend to.

Greetings everyone!

My name is William, and I have been browsing this site for a few years now.
It has always been a source of inspiration, but I am also envying the people here with the talent and determination to give the lovable tunes from the past the shine they originally deserved.

I have a dream, something I want to accomplish in this life, and it is to one day contribute with my own remix on this site.
I'm familiar with a few different programs, mostly Reason, and I play the guitar regularly. But I often feel crippled, because I can't release the music I hear in my head, due to lack of theory.
This is propably because of lack of talent and will, but I am determined to do it one day, even though it will take some time.(Hopefully OCR hasn't been destroyed from natural disasters or the end of the world or anything)

Anyway, I'd like to everyone who even read my introduction of myself. Hope to see you out there!

/William

Yo everyone!

I found this site sometime ago but then lost it and was unable to find it again.
Th past January I attended the Video Games Live show and picked up the Earthworm Jim Anthology by Tommy Tallarico... later that evening we ended up hanging out with Tommy, the Video Game Pianist, Aktrez and Jack Wall at Denny's when they came in and were seated right next to us.
Becasue of Tommy I found this site again becasue he's really into the communtiy here.
He told me to check it out and the URL is even printe din the Earthworm Jim booklet.

So I been hanging around here since January and I'm hooked.
Within my first few DAYS here I had 2 discs worth of music downloaded :)

I finally decided to join the fourms!

I've been listening to stuff on OCR for a number of years now, and have always kept up with events here, I just never got around to actually JOINING the forums.

Well I have now.

I am 21 and I am about to get my commission as a 2LT in the US Army. Not too much time to myself so I doubt I'll be posting all too much.

I enjoy RPGs and Action/Adventure games. I like shrimp and purple hi-liters. ...and that's about it.

Looking forward to being a part of the community as opposed to just watching from the outside.

I've been downloading mixes for quite a while, but this is my first time in the registered user's seat. Anything you want to know about me, check the profile. If that doesn't answer your question, just send me a message and I'll answer it as best as I can. Unfortunately, I have a knack of disappearing completely from forums from time to time. There are times when I absolutely cannot login because I have loads of work or I'm on holiday.

Not really a newbie, per se, but I've been gone for a LOOOONG time. I've decided to come back because... well I followed Justus here. :P

I want to be a remixer, but I am at a disadvantage due to the fact that audio development in Linux is still kinda shaky. Of course, I won't let a little turbulence scare me off of this flight. ;)

Oh yeah, and I'm poor, so if I wanted Windows (which I DON'T want) or a Mac (which I could totally live with), I couldn't get them anyway. I'm lucky I have a midiman usb uno and VERY lucky that my parents bought this keyboard for me.

I'm making my first remix right now using my Casio WK-3500 and Rosegarden, which is the best MIDI sequencer for Linux as far as I can tell. It doesn't sound half bad if I say so myself... but all I have is a 19 second piano part that isn't even half done yet. But on the up side, I learned my way around Rosegarden and how to mess with stuff like reverb and chorus. I would try to get some of the more advanced effects on this keyboard working, but I don't know how and I probably won't need them anyhow. At least, not yet. I wish I had a bank list and controller list for this keyboard but I can't find one on the Internet, which should be a vast store of knowledge. <_<

I don't expect my first remix to be anything spectacular, but I'd like to get some feedback and learn from the experience.

Hey all! I'm also new here; I've been mooching off the albums and remixes for awhile but have just recently joined. I used to do a lot of tinkering with Fruityloops... 3.4. I hope once I get to college I'll have the time and money (for programs and such) to learn how to compose half as well as most of you people. I've wanted to for a long time, and I'm doing my best to pick things up along the way! I hope I can make some sort of difference here.

Hi. My name is Silvio, I'm from Romania and I currently work for an indie game developer in my country. So far, we're close to release one finished project, a space-based real time strategy in 3D called Galactic Dream: Rage of War .

I don't know if I'm allowed to post any links so, if curious about the game, feel free to search it on Google. One question: Where should I post to request soundtracks to use in our projects?

Hey all, I am new here, and plan to stick around.

I am definitely a mooch of mp3s here, and have no shame about it.

I am different though: I am actively seeking to benefit and promote any game music makers that want my help. NESkimos were the first band to introduce me to this amazing genre, if i can all it that. Since then I have been a big time fan of the typical Minibosses and the Advantage. I am fascinated to find so many bands doing this stuff through myspace: vomitron, bitshifter, entertainment system, powerglove etc

so I guess I lean more to the 'rock' side of remixes, but it doesn't mean I dont have passion for what all of you guys are doing. Let meknow how I can help you.

And I will always something to the effect of "God Bless" because I take up my identity in Christ. That doesn't mean I am unrealistic or a social hermit or critic, just new.

so God Bless!

Another new one, here. I am completely unadept when it comes to music but I do thoroughly enjoy it. I've been partaking of OCRemix for maybe 8 months to a year now. I'm a college student in her last semester, freaking out about finding a job in my wonderful field of 3D Character Animation. Post away, friend. The number of posts here at OCR is directly proportional to the number corresponding to the various rankings you refer to, i.e. under my name is the label "Chrono (+800)" signifying that I have amassed over 800 posts in the nearly two years being a member of this forum. The regulars don't post as slowly as I do, normally, but some of us are content to stick with our favorite threads (http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=6741) and not many others.

You'll get your first ranking as soon as you reach 25 posts.

EDIT: Also, that is one kicking sig, yo. Axel is da man... er, VGCat, in this case...

Hello. My name is Alexis and I am addicted to video game music. :-P

Yeah, I have a feeling nobody reads the n00b introductions, so I'll just keep it short. I'm a music education major at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. My main instrument is viola, but I also play violin, cello, double bass, trumpet, baritone, kazoo, french horn, trombone, and piano. Ummmmm, yeah. I'm thinking maybe after school let's out this year, I'll give this remixing thing a shot. Probably won't get on this site since everything I've heard so far is pretty awesome, but it's worth a shot...

I'm Obi (nickname), I'm a latin nerd from Puerto Rico and I came to this site after hearing of the great videogame music collection it has from magazines like Game Informer and others and I though, "why not give it a quick look", and I end up becoming a member :-) . I'm currently downloading remixes from mega man, sonic and zelda but if you guys know of other great songs, please tell me and I'll check them out as soon as I can.

Glad to be part and hope of hearing frpm everyone.

Hey, I'm new here obvoisly. *newblet in training* I really won't be on the forums all that much to tell the complete truth, because I've got a lot going on right now in my life. Currently working up my credit to get the loans to enroll in Full Sail for computer animation. Since I like the design part of video games more than the coding, that's why I strayed away from the actual video game design program (which has jack for designing games).

That aside, I have found this beautiful place, and have come to rape it of it's contents for my OWN! Of corse with rightfull credit given. Nice meeting every, peace for now.

Funny story. I'm @ Full Sail in CA

I've been listening to VG music for years now, but when I found this site it was like a miracle. I never knew there were people making remixes of songs I'd known and loved. And they were damn fucking GOOD remixes too! So now I've finally joined into this fantastic community so I can give my opinions of the amazing works of art that such incredibly talented people have and still are sharing with us.

VIVA LA OC REMIX!

I'm obviously new to OCR, but I'm also new to the remixing scene. I have always been a big Sonic fan, was recently looking for game music online and stumbled upon Hedgehog Heaven :-) . A brilliant compilation/arrangement if I do say so myself. That's what lead me to OCR. Having only been on it for a short while, I think it's a fantastic site - which has just given me the nudge I need to try my hand at remixing.

That's it for now folks...later

Yea I'm new. Hi everyone I'm Soramaster. I love video games. I play them all the time and I love the music from them. I also like the music from this site. You all did a really good job doing the remixes and stuff. I'm making one right now and to me sounds good. Back like 5 to 6 years my grand mothers died and before that I would always go down there and play the games on SEGA and SNES but after she passed away my uncle tried to keep the house but couldn’t because something of taxes and when he was living there the pipe in the place broke and water was everywhere and even on the games and stuff and after that hey didn’t work. So around 3 to 4 years ago I wanted to play the music from the games. That year my mom got my sister a keyboard because she said she wanted to play music but she never did and every time she left I would always sneak in there take the keyboard and bring it into my room and try to play it and then when she comes back I would hurry up and put it back in her room. But after a while she said she wasn’t going to be able to play it so she let me borrow it because she said she might try to play it. And I would practice everyday every hour trying to play it. If it wasn’t for that I would not be able to play music but I can. I can SMW music DKC music and some others. And of course real music like Beethoven ‘Fur Elis’. I have my own keyboard Yamaha Portable grand DGX-205. And I’m real good at music. I still have to learn something’s. when I’m old enough maybe around 22 or 26 I want to be a music teacher. Like I said I am in the progress of making a remix and it is from a game.
Also what program to you all use to get MP3 instrument sounds? I use FL =’Fruity Loops’ but is slow and I don’t have a key for it so if I can’t find a good one I will have to buy it since it’s a demo and I can’t save the instruments and stuff . I can use export to MP3 and assigning it the MP3 wave sounds.
Also my email is inuyasha90@comcast.net (inuyasha90@comcast.net) and I will soon have one at Soramaster@yahoo.com (Soramaster@yahoo.com) I do not have one at yahoo so please don’t email anything to Soramaster@yahoo.com (Soramaster@yahoo.com).

Thanks for welcoming me and stuff

Yes, I'm a noob.

Hi! I've been listening to OCR tunes for yonks and loving every note, so I decided it was about to time to join the forum! Um, about me... I'm male, British, and I have (in my opinion anyway...) at least a bit of musical talent, I've got about 0 experience though, but I'm taking grade 1 piano soon...

Uh... I'm already a member of several forums, so I'm hip with the whole business of not spamming and that.

Oh yeah, I love fruit smoothies.

Hey, I've been coming to OCR for a couple years actually but I'm just now joining. I'm 24 and I'm very much into computers (especially Linux) and videogames (of course). Anyway if anyone one has computer questions message me and I'll do my best to help you.

Hey y'all! I'm lekkin, and just thought I'd introduce myself here. My brother led me to this site, but I don't think he's on the forum. Anyways, I absolutely love the site, great music. I prefer orchestral and piano stuff, not really one for techno or rock stuff. I love Christ, and he is the sole purpose of my existence. As for what I do, I'm on the internet a lot (mostly on a forum for teen writers, I like to write 8) ), I also like to compose, I use Finale Printmusic (really don't have the money for anything better...). I play tons of video games, my favorite are RPGs and strategy games. I'm a Sophomore in High School, I love school minus the homework, and maybe not chemistry so much... too much memorization, I love concepts better. I love singing and playing piano, but the thing I'm best at is definately math. I'm a math geek. Anyways, enough about me, now to go out into the community!

Hi there, I've been coming to this site for about three years now and decided to sign up. I wanted to sign up mainly because I just got a Wii not to long ago and set up a wireless router for my DS and want to start adding some friend codes. I love the community around here and while I will probably not post too often, I will post when I feel I have something to add to the conversation.

Looking forward to the fun.

Ah, a fellow math enthusiast. Welcome to OCR. Make sure to check out the Math thread...if it's still around, that is. I don't like chemistry much myself, but I suppose it's important to understand.

Oh, you might like to check out the OCR christians thread too, seeing how you're christian and all.

Yeah, there are lots of threads, teams, clans, and groups on and about this website, so make sure to peruse them all and find some that you like.

Hi, everyone. :) I'm Ren and I've been lurking for a terribly long time. :P

There's not much interesting about me. I play enough instruments to make someone's head spin, and I love to play video games and sing in my off time. I'm a writer by trade and an amateur mixer, though I could use a lot of practice there before I try to post anything.

Other topics include: I am a vegetarian, a lover of strange music, and I tend to say things that I regret... a lot. ;)

Perhaps I should hide, now. ;)

Hello everyone! I am Shark. I've been listening to the music here for a couple years but never had the courage to join... *blush* Anyway, I have very little audio editing experience, but the little I have involves cutting and pasting with Audacity. I tinker on my keyboard every now and then, can play some chords and melodies on my acoustic guitar, am your average self-taught percussionist/drummer, and I can sing. That's about the extent of my music knowledge.

I love working with computers, my favorite game is Chrono Trigger, and my favorite game music is Chrono Trigger, and that's about it. See y'all on the forums!

As Shark before me said, Chrono Trigger is the best game ever and every time I hear any version of the Far away times, I remember how awesome and touching that game was.

Yo. I've been hanging around like a shadow to a lamp post in a dark alley, sulking...waiting, and downloading. I don't voice out much, but lurking is what I do as an avid insomniac. I off-handedly compose keyboard pieces, but as for remixing, I don't know where to start. Or I do, but I haven't realized it yet. Gotta start somewhere. Hope to come out of the shadows, someday. Wish me luck.

Hey all,

I just finally gathered the courage to join this awesome community that is music and video gaming. You can refer to me as A.S.F, or my gamer tag Mirage, whatever works for ya. I hail from New York, but I'm at a really... "interesting" job in Boston. It sucks, but a job is a job. I've been gaming since the dawn of my life and I don't see that changing anytime soon...*eating ramen*

I don't currently have the equipment to start remixing right now, but I do have like... too many ideas. I play pretty much everything nowadays, so the whole thought about what do I dabble in has pretty much diminished into sawdust and shadows.

However, I'm glad to have such a warm welcome here. Thanks and take care!

djarikraz
06-02-2007, 06:24 AM
Well, another day, another lurker finally shows himself to the forumboard.
Hey all, I'm sean, ala djarikraz.
Been a lurker to the ReMixes on this site for quite some time, through the changes in the site over the years, all the different ReMixes showing their colours, yatta yatta. I've been too afraid to show my face around the forums, due to fear of it being at par with Something Awful's forums, but after reading through, it turned out not to be as bad, or at least from what I've seen.

I've always been huge into video games, and the music behind them. My oldest memory of my gaming life has been Megaman 3 when I was 4 years old. My oldest memory of being intrigued with video game music has to be when Final Fantasy III(VI) first came out and hearing Tina's Theme during the opening credits. I'm 20 now if that helps with my time spent with gaming and the likes.

I have always been a gamer throughout my life, and will continue to do so throughout the rest of it. My favorite genres are Shmup Games (Gradius, Ikaruga, RType, Anything that really requires practice and patience) and RPGs. I do like an occasion game of Guitar Hero, Fight Night, and FPS games as well. I however will not play Football or any other sports games aside Racing and Boxing; and I don't even really like boxing as a sport, just the Fight Night games.

I've been a musician since I was 9, and have always loved transposing my favorite tunes from video games far and wide.
My biggest accomplishment thus far has been transposing the entire Opera House sequence for my Wind Ensemble in High School and then playing it at our Final Concert of the school year, after practicing it nearly half the school year, going through all the tweaks, flats, sharps, crescendo fixes, etc to get it just right.
I've also transposed Tank! and Rush from Cowboy Bebop for Jazz Band at my school as well, and unfortunately didn't play Tank at any of our concerts, due to our lead trumpet was unable to hit all the highend notes.
I've also transposed Dark World Theme from Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past for Pep Band, in which we played a bit of it during halftime of one of our school football games, and made all the gamers out in the stands jump around with glee.

I've been making Electronica (ambient trance mostly) for 2 years now, with the help of eJay programs, and since last year I finally ventured into the world of FL Studios, and have now also moved into Reason. I've been planning on making a ReMix for quite some time now, as it has been a huge dream of mine to have a song to call my own on this site. I'm finally at the point of being ready to make one, my only step I have left to make now, is of which game/song I want to do it of.

Wow, you jumped right into the traditions here, djarikraz, welcome.
I like doing my homework before tossing myself into a fire. We had a sort of June/August Month theme back at my old forum board (rest in peace freqremixes.net) and seeing the Boss Month here, just reminded me of that, so I felt compelled to make a sig for it, even being the newb that I am.
Unless you meant something else...then I just feel even more newbish.

Naw, I'm impressed, alot of new posters take a while before they even format themselves a sig.

06-02-2007, 07:04 AM
Haha awesome. I love using photoshop every chance I get, and if that means a new sig, I'll stay up for hours just to make one that fits that forum/site for me. I've always wanted a Giga Gaia sig, and I just happened to luck out that this was Boss Month.

DragonFireKai

If you like using photoshop, my suggestion is getting in touch with Bummerdude and Doulifée. There's a nice sig shop that they run.

SomeCrazyGuy

Sorry I didn't make my first post here, but I suppose a short introduction is in order:

...Ur, nope... I've got nothing.

I guess basic info will have to do:

Age, as of the current-present timing in which is of the time which is now: 20

Meaning of Name: I asked a friend who knows Japanese if they could create a transliteration of the screen name I often used online, which is SomeCrazyGuy, and this was the best she could give me... I'm basing this on my faith that she both knew Japanese well enough to do this and that was wasn't being a jerk, and didn't tell me a collection of swear words or some other nonsense.

Why I am so long-winded:
1.) I am a perfectionist
2.) I am not perfect
3.) I am too proud to let #2 get in the way of #1, which means that I often have to type unneccesarily long messages to feel that it is ready for public eyes, which, by then, are too impatient, or as they like to call it, 'have lives'.

...:
You will notice that I put a... Well, I'll just say 'quite a few' elipsis in the internet novels I call 'posts', which tends to become an endearing character trait, or as other people tend to call it, 'enraging and unneccesary annoyance'. So, all I have to say to you is... Get used to it.

Musical Genious, I Am Not:
Title says it all, m i rite/1

Why are you posting at 2 in the morning?:
I work overnight, so I sleep during the day and post at night, so no, I'm not just a loser who stays up too long, frequenting message boards... Well, not JUST that, at least.

Yeah, that's about it, I hope we have many years of you tolerating my grating, annoying presence! Good day/night!

Hi!

Since for a couple of days that I register here, I will like to introduce myself... I'm samusmmx, I also register to submit any type of arranged files from the midis I just basically done. Of course, I didn't came for a competition or something, nop, just to share my works that I'm doing. Most of the music can be basically from my favorite video games, others will be from my own, if I inspire myself to do one.

Anyways, that's all I can say, hope I can meet people here. See ya! =D

Enjoy your stay newblets!

Seems I've gone and made a few posts already before noticing this thread.

Dr. Wilhelm here, but you can me William or Doc, whichever. The "Doc" comes from a group of friends of mine I play Guilty Gear with on regular basis, my favorite character to use being Faust (hence the name).

I've enjoyed numerous remixes here on the site for a long time now and wondered why I never made an account here in the first place. So now I'm finally here.

I like what I'm seeing of the forums so far and hope I don't make a fool out of myself in them, heh. Glad to be here.

06-09-2007, 01:45 AM
Yo. My username is Ultranoir, which I took from a description of the movie Brick, and it's a slight reference to the fact that I love trenchcoats, which are often associated with the film noir genre.

I'm a friend of Dr. Wilhelm's, and I have a hard time with his precision using Scalpel Enema, and the amount of meteors he pulls out. I'm an avid fighting game fan, with a weak spot for SNK (even the bad games), usually playing Street Fighter III: Third Strike and Guilty Gear. I've liked many of the remixes on here, particularly the work of Snappleman, as I love hard, driving rock and metal music.

I hope to make a lot of friends on here and be a part of what the Doc has said is a friendly community. Most of the forums I've been on sucked, so I'm hoping for you all to prove my opinion of all internet communities wrong.

Glad to make your acquaintance, ladies and gentlemen.

So I'll start with my first question: Where do I drop my creations?

By the way... I'm about to get married next thursday :-D

Anyway, I'm Kizyr. I've been listening to stuff off of OCR for somewhere around 3 or 4 years now, and I'm always checking back to see when anything new is released. I only just joined the forums once I heard about Pixietricks' work on Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword (since I'm also a huge Civ fan).

Couple of my favorite artists here are pixietricks, Reuben Kee, and GrayLightning, among several others. Not to mention that the Chrono Symphonic and Project Chaos albums were incredible as well...

Hello, I am new.

Basically I found this site when looking for a Chrono Trigger - Battle With Magus Remix...The first I heard was Black Wind Rising, By Star Slazman. And wow, was I impressed.

I decided to join and see what was up on the forums and such. Well, to tell a bit about myself, I'm basically a 3D Modeler & Animator, along with a few experience in Graphic design. I got two good friends who work with me in a group called "M-Productions" where we simply make video's usually making fun of certain aspects of human society. I am the animator, the other is the composer, and the last one is the story writer and concept artist. I'm hopeing to get them to eventually join here as well.

Hello, hello, good people of OCR. I am CobaltDelta (Call me Cobalt, if you will.), and I seem to be the epitome of average-joe users. I have no remixing talent whatsoever, but that might change in the future, if I can ever get off my lazy rear-end and study some advanced composition techniques. I assume I'd be good at remixing - nine times out of ten, I can play a melody by ear, provided it isn't too obscure (For example, I could play the opening theme from Mega Man 3, but playing Hideki Naganuma's "Bomber Barbara" from Sonic Rush might be a little more difficult for me.)
I have moderate skill with computers, but desperately need to brush up on my software knowledge (Seeing as how I have next to none.) and some of the more technical hardware skills.
I also play video games to an absurdly unhealthy extent, which might just be why I'm here. Recent favorites of mine include:
Sonic Rush, Jet Set Radio Future, Ace Combat 5, Ace Combat Zero, Mega Man (All of 'em. I'm a Mega Man fanatic.), Star Fox (Most of the games I enjoyed, with the exception of Assault and Command, which I could complain about for hours.)
I'm a bit of an audiophile, and the majority of the music you'll find on my 60GB Zen Vision M would be OC Remix along with a few various other video game soundtracks. I just don't care for much mainstream music. (Hah, that's hilarious. "Music." *Chuckle*)
Also, I'm a bit of a Grammar Nazi. Not to the point where I'll chew people out for poor grammar, but I'll usually tend to spell things correctly, and will at least try to keep proper grammar maintained throughout my posts.
I look forward to my stay here at OCR. Nice meeting you all.

Hiya. You should probably already see my name before you start reading this post, but for manner's sakes, I'm GigaShadow. Been checking out this site for about a year or two now, always admiring the remixers and their talent. For the past couple months or so, I've got this urge to at least try to do some remixing of my own, and well, what better way to be introduced to the whole remixing community then by joining the OCR forums?

Uh, more about myself, as I'm sure alot of people on here are, I'm a huge video game and music fan. Tastes for both can be quite erratic or odd. Pretty hard to get a good feeling on if I'll enjoy something or not at first glance. Besides those two, I've become quite a comic book nerd over the summer. Wednesday has become my new favorite day of the week, for whatever new comics come out that day.

In case you can't tell yet, I'm for the most part, sarcastic and laid-back(which I use as a nice way to say lazy...). You'd have to work pretty hard to get on my nerves alot.

As for music itself, I know more then average about musical theory and such, and while I do play the clarinet, I'm not that good(hey, at least I'm honest). I'm more interested in making music then playing music(which totally makes sense. Totally.), so whatever tools remixers use to make their remixes should interest me quite alot.

I am developing video games and hope I can get some directions in here, so I can include nice music to my game projects.

Hey everyone, the name is Mitch. I just happened to stumble upon this site one day, and as fortune would have it I just happen to love video game music, and remixes! It appears to be a match made in heaven to be sure.

I hail from the great land of Minnesnowta and travel around the country quite a bit for business. I dabble in music production and know my way around programs such as Reason and ACID, but I currently am not very talented. Which sets me apart from the contributing artists on this site.

Anyway, I'm glad to be a part of the OC community.

Hello, my name is Rozovian, and I'm a video game remix downloader. (Hello, Rho.)

I'm working on a couple of remixes I'm hoping to complete and submit soon, and thought I might as well join the forum. I'm mostly into Metroid and Zelda, but play most of the games my gamer brother buys. There's a number of nintendo consoles in our house, plus a ps2. Then there's a number of Macs, but that's not as important. I'm also an avid origin debater, but that's as irrelevant here as the length of my beard (which will remain a secret for now, more so than my sex). Greetings from Finland.

Call me Rho.

So, hi. I've watched this site for years, but haven't gotten as far as to sign up on the forums until now. The site seems to have changed quite a bit since last time I was here, but anyways.

I've studied music production for half a year, but had to cancel to go on with other, more important studies. So I'm proficient with Cubase, although I no longer have access to a full version. At this time I'm on the lookout for free software to use as a substitute. VSTi support is very important there.

I play the guitar, and I'm currently working on some rearrangements of songs from the Final Fantasy games. I'll also be looking at songs from the original red/blue Pokemon games and Metal Gear Solid. My genre of choice is metal, but my remixes can cover a broad spectrum. There's reggae, jazz-esque tracks and slow piano-based arrangements as well.

If you want to know more about my musical taste you could look me up on last.fm under the name Avenius. That was my introduction, see you around!

Helllooo theree! I'm a newbie remixer, in my arsenal I have Reason 3 and... well yea, that's really my entire arsenal. I've enjoyed listening to OC remixes for about a year or two now, just got around to making an account on the forums here because I've recently had a strong desire to learn how to make good music and my goal is to get one of my own remixes up on OCR! Yea, I know it sounds insanely typical and almost like ever other newb's dreams but I wanna see if I can really do something with it. Other than all of that I suppose I don't really have anything else to add... so hello again, OCR community.

Hello and good night OCR!

The new newbie and fanboy is here;-Fanboy!

I'm just another fan of music and videogames and sadly, i lack the skills to play any instrument, and with my teenager-voice i don't do much singing either. Thank heavens for that.

Another swede, like AmiEvil and Another Soundscrape here, but as you probably figured i won't contribute with more than my thoughts i the forums.

Like many others i too have lurked around here fpr about a year, enjoying the music and so on.

Oh, and yes, i have a total lack of imagination and thus my worthless username.

Now you know what there is to know. :)

Hey. I'm CyAnIdE. Spelt like that cause I can't be arsed finding all the special characters that I use in my gamertag whenever I log on v_v.

I'm a former member, who forgets what name he went by back then v_v. Regardless, I regained interest in the site about 3 months ago when I first heard about a few of the projects you guys had running.

You then released FFVII VotL and I decided I was going to reregister, just to give you guys a congrats, and to hopefully get involved, start remixing again, and start some projects.

One of my favourite ReMixers here is bLiNd, who has earned a godlike status imho, closely followed by Sixto.

I don't know what else to say really, I'm Aussie, I'm against politics mostly, I see it as a way of pushing your way around others' rights and opinions.

See y'all round!

Hey, OCRemix. I'm new, just joined today! I've been watching the progress of this site since way back in '01. Since then I've wanted to join, but back then I was totally unprepared to make that kind of step. To be honest, I still don't think I'm ready.
But I'm here now and I'm so ready to be a part of this place...if I can learn how to make a tune with a synth, and once I get one, hallellujah. Anyway, I don't know anything about arrangements or collaborations or even about making music. But I did come prepared for one thing, and that's my voice.
I haven't had any training for it, but many have heard it and enjoy it. I figure, if I can at least sound decent on a mix, and actually be heard, it'd be a dream come true. I'm not gonna try and let someone else do all the work on a song, so if someone could point me in the right direction concerning a fine synthesizer, I'll get right on it and try my hand at a song. So far, my interests are Sonic, Mario, Zelda, and Mega Man. Can't go wrong with the classics, right?
Anyway, I'd love to hear from you guys. I've been watching you for years, now I want to come in and say hello. Thanks for reading, guys!

You can do it man. I'm going through a similar time with learning production values. I hate bothering with production at all. I just want to write my song and be done with it. But I'm thinking that I don't want to ALWAYS have to collaborate everytime I wanna make a mix. So I'm taking my freaking long sweet time trying to learn all that I can. The hardest part is not having the best equipment or money. There's a chance that it could be true but I'd hate to think that there's no way I could make a passable mix with my current stuff. So I'm gonna try and garner some skills around here and see how good I can make my current stuff sound. It's HARD yo! Let's do it together! ^_^

Gooood morning, OC. I just arrived yesterday, and I had no idea there was a 'hello newbie' thread! Pretty spiffy.
Anyway, I hail from Tennessee, and like I said in my unneccessary 'lone newbie' thread, I've been watching this place for years, but I never had the guts to come in and say hello. Well, I'm here now.
I think my favorite game music is Sonic, mostly every Sonic game there ever was (minus the Game Gear and such, I wasn't priveliged-sp? enough to have two handhelds back then). One of the things I hope to accomplish here is finally learn how to make a remix. I think the first thing I'd go for is a remix of the Launch Base Zone 1 from Sonic 3. I've heard great mixes for that song, but it's never been done the way I had in mind
Oh, and I'm a huge Mario fan. If there was one costume I could have for Halloween (I know I'm 26, but I haven't had a good costume in 15 years...I miss the candy!) Anyway, music is my life. I can't work without it-literally. I go to work everyday with my mp3 player and fill it with the likes of OC Remix, Tally Hall, and ICP-not my musical inspiration, but it keeps me hopping.
My musical inspirations are the like of Josh Groban, Vertical Horizon, and OC's own Jillian Goldin. Her vocal talents are so amazing. My wife and I even sang the Lover Reef song on our wedding day. We're both singers, but I think my gal's a little too shy to make her debut here. She's as good as I am, so I'll see if I can't convincer her to join someday.
Anyway, I'm about out of words for now, so thanks for reading, guys. I look forward to taking my first step into the mixing world soon!

I would like to say hello. I myself lurked for a while before I felt the unresistable urge to join this awesome group of musicians and gamers. 09-18-2007, 06:29 PM
Hi I'm Senshi. I've been a fan of OCRemix for 3 or 4 years now, and decided to join after evaluating that the forum had cool people and not people looking to jump down your throat for an opinion not exactly that of the Collective.

Anyway, I've had a MacBook for about a year, and did some work on Garageband. I also used FruityLoops a litle bit on my family's XP system, and was looking to get some additional experience before upgrading and trying a full-on Remix.

I used to play tenor saxophone, but I'm really a musician, but I am a gamer. I've been a Nintendo fan since 1989... which makes me OLD I guess. =/

But really I love music and I love video games. I hope I can learn a lot here, and get back into music. I really did enjoy playing sax. :)

One question... how do I get those cool titles and names under my sig? And is there a forum to practice signatures on? Thanks

The Author
09-18-2007, 06:47 PM
The titles come with postcount (don't take this as a justification to post only to raise your postcount). The name you add in your user CP. Extra titles (like remixer) comes from getting a mix posted. As for sig, if you want to make one yourself, go for it, however there are some threads where you can ask for someone to make one for you.

Alright, since this is the place for introductions, here's mine:

Just a little note, though: I actually signed up here a LONG time ago, like, a few years ago. How many exactly, I do not know. However, I never got a chance to post anything. This was mainly because of constant distractions. And over time, I forgot my username and password, so even when I wanted to post, I couldn't.

Ok, now for the actual introductory stuffage:

I'm pretty laid-back, although from time to time, I'll make smart-ass jokes. HOWEVER. I only make those types of jokes when appropriate. I also make a point not to post in a topic if I have nothing relevant to say, even if the topic is immensely intriguing.
Also, as it may not be painfully obvious, I am a musician, currently working on material for my first album, a rock/heavy/electronica/classical/ambient hybrid under the title of "The Voices of Defeat". (I can see the eyes rolling now, lol.)
I'm also trying to remix a few tracks, but at the moment, I'm finding it easier to make completely original material than to remix. Why, I don't know. I'm currently working on a remix of the opening theme and the Dolphin Park music from WaveRace 64, and "Speed Nation" from RidgeRacer 64. I actually have a list of tracks I'd like to remix in the future, such as:
Gorgeous Castle stage - Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon
End Credits - Perfect Dark
Cruise Control - RidgeRacer 64
Speed Highway at Dawn - Sonic Adventure
Angel City - Blast Corps.

But yeah, the only one that I've actually made some progress with is the WaveRace 64 remix, which I've titled as "Azure Crescent".

I also work in other fields of art, such as drawing(anime only, though, lol.), literature(I have a bunch of stories I'm working on now. Trust me, you do NOT want me to list all of them.), and photography. What can I say? I love art, lol.

So, by now, your eyes and your mind are probably screaming, "when does this guy shut up?!". Ha ha. I realize this is a little long and filled with possibly irrelevant information, so I'll stop my intro here. So, this is my long overdue, and insanely drawn out way of saying:
"Hi. I'm new." ^^'

Geez...that site is huge,I remenber the first time I entered this site searching for Final Fantasy's Tactics songs,I still remenber the expression in my mind saing "oh my,how can a site can be so perfect",by the way...as a fan I did not comprehended the hard work that was been implied on that site, for me were just download and hear,but...now I understand, this site shows to us people that the life are much more than a list full of problems; what can be better than hear "Summoner's Love" in a sunshine day,or "Cry of the Chasmal Critter Chain" when you are sad and sober,in a happy day just hear "Meribia Nights" and foreget about the problens, but,if you are not the emotional type, then you will find perfect musics for your liking, shake your bones with "Ada's Groove" or jump to the sky hearing "Fire Cross".I'm Alexandre,Agua da Chuva, and I am hored to make part of such a wonderful site likr that :-o

Hey remixers,

I just wanted to post and say that you guys are seriously off the hook. my friend found out about Voices of the Lifestream via Evil Avatar, and I found my way over here and perused the remixes. I've got to say, I'm overwhelmed. I love music, and hearing these remixes has been a great blend of enjoyment and nostalgia.

I wanted to give extra props to all the FF7 people, and also McVaffe, who did a simple yet amazing remix of Relm's theme from ff6, which I haven't been able to stop listening to. You guys are sick!

I also just wanted to know what software most of you all use, and if you maybe know of somewhere I can go to learn how to use it? I have acid pro 6 (i think 6) right now, but I have no clue how to use it. I have a lot of ideas in my head, but can't do anything with them.

We know, we ARE awesome,

Kidding aside, we appreciate your feedback, but there is already a thread for comments about VOTL here, http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=11896

Also, for the individual ReMixes on the site there is a review thread for each mix (http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=514), as in your case Mcvaffe's mix is here, http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=514

And for your last few questions, there was a thread about who uses what here. (http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3753)

Usually skating around the products forums (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowTopics.asp?ForumID=1) is helpful.

EDIT: My google-fu has reveled tutorial videos for acid. (http://www.softwaretrainingtutorials.com/acid-pro-6.php)

yeah dude! I wouldn't worry about haters...music is music, and what matters most is creativity, not what means you go about producing it. I have no idea how any of you made your remixes, I just listened to them and smiled a lot, and that means good music to me. The only time I would maybe knock a program would be songs coming from garage band, because although those songs are cool sounding, from what I understand most of the songs are already done for you.

Thanks for the dude who made the post in the beginning with the links, I'll definitely check them out!

I registered on here... well, I forget when but it seems like a really long time ago.

I forgot about this place until I got an e-mail about the Voices of the Lifestream thingy and remembered about OCRemix.

And back I came.

It only just occurred to me that it may be worth my while becoming an (at least semi-) regular posting person on the forums here, so "Hey there! :D"

So while I may not be a newbie chronologically speaking, I'm a newbie for all practical purposes.

Anyway, welcome new folk. There's some soda in the fridge and microwavable popcorn in the cupboards. djp hasn't gone to the store yet, so that's about it right now.

They basically edit the thread title to say YES or NO right at the start of it. Obviously, YES means its in the queue to be posted.

I THINK that's what you were asking?

Hi all, I've been a fan of this site for years but just now decided to join the community. My name's Richard, I own a video game guitar tab site, http://www.gametabs.net which I just recently redesigned. Hopefully some of you will find it useful in your remixes. I haven't remixed anything yet, but I'd like to start soon. I just downloaded and listened to the Final Fantasy 7: Voices of the Lifestream album, and it is absolutely incredible. The quality of remixes in that album is just amazing. I'm about to write a review a glowing review of it on my site. Anyway, nice to meet you all.

ok well now that i know what snacks n jackson is i can honestly say i want to cry in a corner. However, i have searched far and wide on this site in help, faq, and forums to try and find out why we all have titles i.e dan hibiki, ryu, big boss.

AKA what do they represent???

AKA what do they represent???

Your post count silly head! When you hit over 25 posts you get the "snacks N jaxson." when you get over 50 you get "Dan hibiki." Over 100 is "goomba" (from super mario bros) and so on. they are all basically video game characters that represent how many posts you've made on the boards.

Hi, I'm Zach. I've downloaded songs from this wonderful site for over a year. I'm incredibly sleepy... I'm procrastinating a lab report due tomorrow. I feel like I'm spewing info all over the place, but at least I employ grammer good, er, grammar well. I'm in the 11th grade. I'm on my highschool drumline, and it is quite rocking. We won the percussion caption at our last contest, and that means uber kewl. I know I want to pursue a future that has something to do with music, or at very least, have an avid hobby that deals with music.

I'm incredibly busy (for me that is) with physics, calc., my highschool band's last week and a half of marching season, and various other personal activities. With that said, I might not be on, except maybe once every week or two. After marching season I should have a little more time.

Aww, had an introduction all typed out and page doesn't load. I'll type up a summed up version, then.

I'm Ibby.

I've never been a part of the OCRemix community, but I've been remixing videogame music for a little while. I've been entering the Dwelling of Duels competition for almost two years under the name Kidd Cabbage, and even got first place last month with a huge Dragon Warrior, Wizards and Warriors, and Willow megamedley done up in orchestral metal. My music tends to end up a type of frantic metal. I play guitar and I haven't really dabbled in much electronic music. If you feel like acquainting yourself with any of my music, it's all on my webpage, which is linked through this profile, or if you're lazy, click here (http://kiddcabbage.scott-bloom.com).

Also submitted my first OCRemix a week or two ago. Wish me luck on that.

Anyways, hello all - I think that was the point I've been trying to make.

Edit: And God, I'm having a tough time trying to get used to having the newest posts be at the top of the first page, as opposed to the bottom of the last.

I'm Sui, I've listened to a fair amount of OCR mixes...and I've actually come to ask if there was anyone who could do a band arrangement/print out the score for one of their remixes for me. I mean, if you remix you have to write the music out...so I imagine there must be someone who's willing to do that! XD

Hey all, I go under the name of Flexstyle and I'm an avid gamer (although my scope is currently extremely limited), and a house/dnb/trance producer of about 2 years. Other musical experience includes about 4 years of violin (quit a few years ago though) and about 3 or so years of piano. I'm also a trained sound man for my church, and have been for several years.

If you feel like checking mah stuff out, you can do so at www.acidplanet.com/flexstyle (http://www.acidplanet.com/flexstyle).

My primary game is currently the open-source shooter Tremulous. Usually I'm on the Dretch*Storm server under the names "his nose," "|TSR|TheLittleGreenMen," and "[DRU]Vortexx." Yeah, you needed to know that.

I probably won't be super-active on the OCR forums as I'm a regular member on several other forums too, but I thought I'd at least sign up. You'll probably see me around a little bit at least.

Let's see here...I've recently downloaded every single stinkin' torrent the site has to offer (all the remix albums, plus the "all the remixes from the site"), and of course I love a lot of the music I've heard here. Most notably stuff from zircon, bLiNd, Leifo, FFMusicDJ, and some others.

I'm also trying to learn a bit of graphic design...hmm, what else is there to say? Oh yeah, I'm 16 and I live near Phoenix Arizona.

So HI!

I would love to record something, but I don't got no recording equipment. :-PSucks don't it?? So I need to know if any one near Jackson, Michigan does.... I'm also interested in collaborate work!! Also, I'm going to have a concert in the spring at Loomis Park Baptist. All OCRemixers invited!! You might be surprised what you hear! *hint* *hint* I am experienced as I've got superiors in music festivals, and have been the church/choir/quartet/ensemble pianist for 2 years. (Well, more like 1 1/2 but who's counting?) Thanks for taking the time to read this! Thanks all for making this site my main online destination!!

Tenacious FT
11-04-2007, 07:19 AM
Greetings Overclockers, this is FT speaking and it looks to be a rather Tenacious morning! I'm a newcomer to OCRemix forums, but have been listening to their tunes from time to time for about a year now, and after noticing the disturbing lack of Mortal Kombat mixes, I decided to register so that my voice could be heard. But don't worry, I'm a veteran of forums like these. That's one less person you'll have to educate in Netiquette.

I'm a big fan of Tenacious D, as well as many classic rock bands, but my head's so full of jagged metal that I don't really have much room for anything else, unless it sounds epic, so I'm more of a fan of remixes that sound more like rock anthems than anything else. Another reason why I'm here: I notice a sickening absence of rock remixes.

Anyways, during my endeavors to get these unholy qualities purged from the site, I seek to have a fun, occasionally silly time here at the forums. Here's hoping I last for a good week or so!

This is my first post here at OCReMix.org, so I will welcome myself and share some information about me. I learned of this site by downloading video game remixes from a P2P file sharer. I noticed that all the best remixes were from OCReMix.org. I checked out the site and downloaded all the big bundles of remixes. I love them. They are all I listen to anymore. My Ipod only has OCReMixes on it. I strongly salute all the remixers for their incredible amounts of talent. I have become inspired to make my own remixes, as well. I am very amateur, but i wish to become like you. I am very proud to be a part of this community, and i wish to learn from the best.

Yo. I'm AD. This is my livejournal - although I haven't been making much use of it lately. Those golden statues you see everywhere - those are me. OCR worships them five times a day.

Basically, the only thing you need to know is that I'm a misanthropic alcoholic that is superior to you in every way. When I'm not being a cynical son of a bitch, I actually give pretty good advice - though it's usually the kind you don't want to hear.

I know a fuckton about the comic world - particularly DC, less so with Marvel (and a handful of the indie comies). Ask questions about comic books, expect to get a treatise.

I am your average, run of the mill liberal democrat. I don't use my brain, I just kind of follow the crowd and hop on political bandwagons - but I do like to pat myself on the back about how righteouslly progressive I am. Like, I once killed a puppy to show how pro-choice I am. I also believe that the federal government should set up an environmental gestapo to enforce environmental concerns (it's like this: either drive a hybrid or recycle your cans, or the government black bags you and sends you to re-education and indoctrination camps - ie. public school). I believe that all wealth should be redistributed, and anybody who has the audacity to be financially well off should have their assets seized and effectively forced into slavery. I fully embrace a fascist and dictatorial regime that tells us all what to do, say and think and makes the world a place so that nobody can be hurt (by themselves or others) or ever be offended by anything. It's for the greater good. Es Lebe Amerika! Vote Democrat.

Like many others I've listened to songs from the OCR community for some years and have always been impressed. I've played music for years in different bands and groups but I've never had the patience (until now) to sit down and actually learn a bit of software good enough for it to make the sounds I want it to. It has always seemed easier to tell the drummer what to do or tell the 2nd or 3rd guitarist "play this." There's always too much to fiddle with in the softwares but I know that if I can ever grasp these concepts... I'll make some cool stuff. Looking forward to learning.

P.s. - Main instrument is electric or acoustic guitar but I also can manage on drums, piano, and some violin.

I'm sure I'll be asking for a lot of pointers/help on the "help me I suck" forums.... harharhar

Hey, I'm Mason. I play guitar and a wee bit of keyboard. I can only afford to be using GarageBand at the moment, but I hope to acquire Logic someday soon. I've been a member of the forums for a while now and have made a few posts.. but I wanted to properly introduce myself here.

I'm called Kirie in a few places around the web, I'm 21, and of course a big video game fan. I've really enjoyed this site and the remixes for a long time now, but have only recently been active here.

Probably very obvious that I'm shy, but have been trying to get over that. I don't play music myself (except maybe a couple really simple songs on the keyboard) even though I'd love to really learn someday. To put it simply.. a self described big video game dork, who also enjoys web and graphic design.

Um, I guess that's it really, I don't want to go on a tangent or something. But It's really nice to meet all of you!

Heylo everybody - I'm a LONG time lurker (a year or two at LEAST) who just decided to finally establish an official account for no good reason.

I'm a freshman up in WWU (Washington State) studying international diplomacy and linguistics while trying to not play so many video games (hard to, what with Oj-Box/WC/Galaxy/Z:TP). LOVE music, have all the OCR albums and can play clarinet and piano (albeit not spectacularly). I come from a military background as well - spent my high school years attending an American HS in Naples, Italy.

Hi all. I've been listening to OCRemix for a year or so now (I was mostly introduced to it through listening to the Hedgehog Heaven and Project Chaos albums), and I thought I'd join in the forums. I'm used to messing about with MIDIs, either composing or arranging them, but I've never really got the hang of using stuff outside of the General MIDI set.

I'm actually trying to make a remix at the moment based around Theme Hospital (specifically, a number of the things the Announcer says set to "Fortune", one of the songs on the game's soundtrack). I think what I've got so far sounds pretty good, but I'll admit that it's probably a long way off OCRemix standards because it still relies on GM. I'm also using Microsoft DirectMusic Producer, which I bet will have some of you rolling your eyes, and I'm having trouble finding free instruments in the format it takes (.DLS). Anyway, feel free to have a listen to it and make suggestions (although the introductions thread is probably the wrong thread in which to say something like that): http://www.mediafire.com/?8wl1dbg3ljj

Greetings!!! I am a complete newbie to this concept, but I am looking for ways to expand my musical creativity. I am a guitar/bass player from AZ. Recently, I did some music clips for a friend who was designing a new game mod for his guild. Counterstrike was the name I believe. I enjoyed the concept and now I am looking for other ways to get some music out there. I also work with an international music collaboration site and have many other msuicians/artists who might find this type of site interesting and challenging.

I will try to lay low and get a feel for things here, but I wanted to say hello and get my foot closer to the door.

Howdy. I recently joined because I finally got around to torrenting the Project Chaos soundtrack, which is by and large quite brilliant.

I've been doing some S3K stuff myself, including remixes of material from the PC version, but I honestly don't feel it's worth posting around here since I'm rendering handmade MIDIs (i.e., non-humanized) through MidiG with the aid of some free soundfonts and such. Sounds not very great in other words, but I wouldn't be averse to having someone else cover it.

I'm a poor college student who composes in his free time; I don't have the materials or methods to do any serious performance and recording of this work, though the compositions in and of themselves are of decent quality at this point, I would say. (In fact, I think that Freezepop ripped me off!)

Greetings everyone, I'm Michael :). I'm 17 (18 shortly), live in Australia...on a farm :|. I thought after a few days since downloading "Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream" (which blew me away, some of the most awesome vgm rearrangements I've ever experienced) I thought I would join up and see what it's all about here.

I'm rather interested in doing my own rearrangements/remixes, I've never done one before however, I've had some experience composing some original midis, and recently I've learnt about VST and Soundfonts, I only have free VST and Soundfonts at the moment but hey, you do have to start somewhere :).

So I am just popping in to introduce myself and I will be looking forward to remaining in this community, hopefully for a long time :).

Long time lurker here (5-7 years at least =/), finally decided to make a forum account. This has always been the one site that I visit at least 20 times a day and I love all the remixes here. I was actually drawn here by Kazaa way back in the day because I was looking for Super Mario RPG songs on it and I found a djpretzel remix in the results and decided to download it, I've been a huge fan of this website ever since. Keep it up guys I really appreciate and love what you're doing here. This place is sanctuary for me, all I have on my iPod is OCR music and video game soundtracks.

Many thanks,

Hiya folks. A newbie to the forums, but a long time lurker on the site that finally got around to registering. Especially after the encouragement we got to register, at least for giving feedback to the wonderful people making the music if nothing else, at the panel at Anime USA this year that DJPretzel, Liontamer, and one other person from here(I feel so bad, but I can't remember names worth a damn) ran. Amazing amount of talent here. And I'm still enjoying the promo copy of the Final Fantasy 7 Voices of the Lifestream album I won there for being able to identify the remix as coming from Final Fantasy 9. :)

Narroo! I'm hoping to Re-Mix some songs...If I ever figure out how to...I need a Walk-Through! Wahh....
There is a good forum that explains lots of stuff about remixing. You can even ask questions about whatever tools you use and some remixers go there to share their secrets.

G'Day all!

I've finally found the perfect website for me! No I'm not one of those wonderfully talented people who mix these fantastic tunes, I'm just a class-four 'nerd' who adores some of the music that can only be found on old video games. I grew up playing Sonic, Sonic and more Sonic, and the brilliant melodies from those old games still run through my head every day. As if they weren't good enough already you musical magicians have gone and turned them into REAL music! OMG! I love it! Seriously guys, people like me would PAY for this music! Of course I realise that I'm in the minority here, but lo and behold I've found my herd! OC Remix rocks!

Nope. You can choose only from the preset ones that are in your User Control Panel, under "Edit Avatar".

You only win when you understand how to pronounce my original screen name: Archaeapyric
or maybe my second: Hierpagos

I first came to ocremix.org nearly a year ago in search of a piano version of J-E-N-O-V-A, and ended up accidentally torrenting about 1000 songs from here. I got hooked on the music and kept coming back for more! The Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream Music Video Competition prompted me to finally make a forum account. I'm not that much of a gamer (the only video game I've ever completed was Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows this summer), and I have no experience with remixing. But I'm hoping to change that soon!

I'm brand new here, and without any knowledge...

How do I download songs without BitTorrent? I was trying to downalod MM3: Blue Lighting, and whenever I clicked one of the links marked "download" it just took me to a place to listen to it...

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but that's what this thread is here for, right?

Meh, don't feel bad, what ya gotta do is right-click and choose "save link as" in firefox, or "save target as" in internet explorer.

And WELCOME.

Thank you very much! I would have thought that would have just saved the link, but it worked just fine when I tried it.

Time to go raid the archives!

I'm in the same boat as Metal_Rich. Especially as I was the one who said that we should sign up

I hope to have fun here, and who knows, I might just get introduced to a whole load of new music through other people's remixes

Hello! Bstraw here. I love the site, and the awesome remixes. I've made a couple of (bad) songs myself, and I am looking for ways to make them better. Thanks for the welcome. :)

Hello all newbies, enjoy your stay.

Remember, don't feed the trolls, and the WIP board (http://www.ocremix.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16) is your friend:wink:

Hi all. I'm Krys666. I love video game music, but I guess that's why were all here!

I also like heavy metal, jazz, classical, abit of everything else apart from rap and opera! lol

I'm very interested in making my own remixes/rearangements. I'm having abit of difficulty, I've checked the forum but cant find anything that realtes /exacly/ to what I need.

Anyway, great site! =D
