Hi,
My name is Will and I've been a fan of this site for most of it's existence, and at this point I feel like I can start to give back to the community, so I'll be headed to the WIP page after this.
Shameless plug:
I currently run a video game music tribute show each week called the 8bit Extravaganza. (http://www.otwdesign.com/8bit/)
If you are interested in the idea we're looking for help and critiques as well!
Thanks again for all the great work over the years and I hope to contribute!
-Will
Hiya people
I am Xac or also known as Tankooni
I have been a fan of OCR for a loooonnngg time but i never decided to join the forums or stuff.
I am a programmer(still learning and only know basic stuff), I love Video Games and Music.
I am going to give remixing a try at some point in the future but it may be awhile before I have anything of quality.
I mainly play two games on the computer, which are Guild Wars and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.
Well I am off for now.

The game in general seemed like it was just missing that addictive element, so i quit playing.

Do you guys know that game you played when you was a little kid, that made you search for it as if there wasn't any other? Thosethat aren't available on wii's virtual console nor as a remake for gba or ds?
Well, I was starting to think that those memories would remain as a part of my past, but then, apparently from nowhere, a link leading to a strange site named "OCRemix" popped on google, and all that nostalgia suddenly made me remember those long playing hours...
I feel that it would be unfair not to thank you, remixers, webmasters, forum admins and else, for all the effort you made in making this site what it is today.
Long study hours (almost ten per day...:sleepdepriv:) are less painful when you hear things like "All the world in one girl" (super metroid)
So, that's it! Keep up the good work!:-P
Sup everyone I'm The JXK, I produce my own music and I've been a fan of the site ever since I saw Mario Bros Z by alvin earthworm (the story gets cliched and a bit to obvious :<- even up to the point where I "reintro Snappleman, Ashne & Norg's original remix for my own personal use"- BTW one of the best songs ever, remix or not:razz:).
Expect a remix from me soon.

hi guys im very excited to finally get a damn account to ocremix, i have been visiting this site since 2002 but i only ghosted in the shadows downloading music and while its one of my favorite websites ever, i never actually opted to create an account.
when i heard the news that ocremix was selected for the street fighter 2 hd remix music i almost shat myself and finally decided i had to be apart of the comunity instead of trolling about behind the scenes listening to all the great tracks that the artists of the site produced with no actual feedback from a fan.
i am a hardcore old school gamer and i absolutely love games and this site has helped me facilitate the love for gaming in some ways. so here i am and im hoping to be a helpfull member of the community.

I'm new here 8)
From the first and last (page 1 and page 201) I got (start numbering here)
1) Always talk about the most funnestest of issues, there will be flame. There is always flame.
2) FFVII is the bestest game ever. People who say otherwise are poo poo heads.
3) Start new topics early and often. It doesn't really matter what topic it's in. It gives the Mods something to do when they have to move it. I know they love that.
4) Feed the trolls. Wouldn't want hungry trolls.
5) The 'terms and conditions' box you check when you sign up is a formality. Not really so much rules as guidelines, and not really so much guidelines as words that you're too lazy to read. The agreement should be: DO YOU SEE THESE WORDS AND UNDERSTAND YOU CAN'T CLICK NEXT WITHOUT CHECKING THAT BOX?
6) I am obviously some sort of insane super hero that is better than all of you. The sooner you come to terms with this, the better off for all of us.
7) US is a term best used when you agree with me. For your sake, you should always agree with me.
EIGHT) punktuation an spelling another stoff is not necesary u no if u just type stuf that some 1 wil figuri it out 4 u an u won have to worry bout junk like that so jus type stuff out n hit teh reply button 4 win!11!!!
9) Constructive critisism is: This sux! Learn 2 <BLANK>!
10) The louder person wins the argument.
Ten is all I feel like coming up with. My soundcard gets here Monday and I get to put that on and start playing around with it. I'm trying to dig back into my nostalgia and decide what I want to work on first. I'm considering doing something from Armored Core: For Answer, which is what I'm playing now. If it plugs into a wall and plays a game, I have it. Atari through PS3. As far as replies and reviews go, I'm pretty lazy, so if I take the time to actually think out and articulate what I mean, it's a good day. If and when I reply, I prefer long sentances with wordy descriptions complete with punctuation and usually spell checking. I reserve the right to not reed 1337 5p34k or cell phone text messaging, and not care what you said, even if it was directed at me. I'm a self described ass. This will become MORE aparent the longer you all tolerate me. In my defense I have been asked if I'm alwalys an ass, and the answer is no. I do have to sleep sometimes... As for right now I need to get away from the lazy and make an OCR signature.
In conclusion:
Hi!
Here I am!

Heya, name's Jason, people typically call me Jason.
I been gaming for a good while, ever since I was fascinated by an 8 bit plumber flinging fireballs at turtles. I've been secretly downloading remixes for quite some time, but it was only recently that I found the urge to contribute instead of merely mooch.
Every new album that OCR releases seems to be better than the last. I was fascinated by the release of a FFVII album, and Project Chaos has some of the greatest songs that make Chinese food delivery bearable.
Some of my favorite games include Bioshock, Chrono Cross, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Super mario RPG, Classic shooters like oldschool Doom and Duke Nukem, The Halflife series, Gitarooman! and occasionally Soul Calibur when I'm feeling frisky.
I'm currently playing WoW, after dabbling in a few mmos I figured it's about time I reach endgame in SOMETHING, and what better mmo than WoW?
I'm saving up for a keyboard, and I hope to add remixes from Golden Sun, Gitarooman, Mystical Ninja, and of course some Final Fantasy.

Hi, I'm a 21 year old female sitting here in California. I've had a long interest in music and sound (no thanks to a dad who has a giant discography of sound and who builds his own speakers =D ) and have been using FL Studio since version 5.
I haven't done a lot (if any decent) original work, but I'm trying to improve and release something I feel comfortable with.
Well, I hope I enjoy my stay here. ^^

Well, after grabbing music from here for the past 4 years and lurking on the facegroup group for the past few months, I finally decided to reg an accout from my phone. So yay. 've been listening to game music since almost right after I received Link's Awakening way back in 93. Ah, well, to good times!

Howdy.
I've first come into contact with OC ReMix when I somehow read a newspost about VotL. I was really impressed by the album and have been around here as a lurker ever since, checking out the other albums, looking for new albums, listening lots of ReMixes and discovering who is who around here.
So now I've decided to become little more active in the OC ReMix community. I'm also playing a bit with creating ReMixes, though it will take a while until I'll actually learn to produce something that most people here would want to listen to...
I'm a developer/programmer and have very little experience in producing music. Not that I don't know anything about music (I did have basic music lessons so I can read notes, etc, albeit with difficulty...), but I don't play any instruments, nor do I have any experience with software like QBase/FL/etc.
Right now I'm fiddling with LMMS (http://lmms.sourceforge.net/) which is very basic but it runs on Linux (my primary platform) and is easy to learn. So someday perhaps something good will come out of it. ;-)
So a big hello to everybody! And everyone responsible, congratulations with this wonderful community and keep on going!

...So I've been lurking here so long I can't even say. I've been anonymously downloading music for years now, but I've never had any contact with the OCRemix community, it seems. After discovering that OCR has a TF2 server and playing there with some members of the community, I've decided maybe I can change that.
I can't remix, and I'm unfamiliar with the terminology people use in reviews. I'm fairly experienced in music, however, and I have a synthesizer -- just no idea how to use it. ^_^;;
In any case, uh. Hi. You guys are awesome.
Hey guys
I'm brand new here. Name's Doni. I'm a producer/DJ and to be honest game music has been probably my biggest influence. Megaman 2 + 3, Chrono trigger, final fantasy, soul blazer, earth bound, and more recently Okami.... it's all classic stuff. Actually game music today is mostly just garbage compared to what it used to be even considering the huge technological gap.
Just wanted to say whats up and I love what you are doing here. I've actually just completed my first remix of a track called "Ode to Lisa" from Soul Blazer for the SNES and I'm going to be submitting it soon. If you want you can check it on my myspace, it's pretty cool :)
Increase the peace

Hey all! I was very into video game music through high school and college when I stumbled upon Relics of the Chozo back in 2003. I fell in love with this web site and all the great mixes. Fast forward through 5 years and 2 bands, I am thrilled to be back. This time I'll be throwing my hat into the ring with some IDM/Industrial/Alt. rock influences. Here's a sampling of some recent original work: http://www.virb.com/wallonia.
I'm very much looking forward to meeting, learning from and working with all of you!

Knew him very well actually. We were best buds for many years. I remember being here as well, we used to talk about it all the time in fact. I was hoping there were more who were still a part of this community that have spoken with him, but people move on and things change, cant stop life. The part of the reason I'm back here is to start remixing again, but I think the larger majority of it is so I can put together an album for his family. But I'm not talking his work, they have that. Rather remixes done in his memory, of games that he loved. But I digress and thats on another thread all together.
Thanks for the welcome and I'm glad to see someone who (may have) knew him.

Hey all. I just decided recently that my goal is to some day compose video game music professionally, and I was referred here by someone on gamefaqs.com.
I am 19 years old and a pretty accomplished clarinet player. I study music at the University of Vermont and am about to start my fourth semester. I enjoy competitive ultimate frisbee.
Some of my favorite games musically:
Double Dragon (NES)
The Legend of Zelda: ALttP (SNES)
Super Mario World (SNES)
Paper Mario (N64)
Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
Curse of Monkey Island (PC)
Grim Fandango (PC)
Warcraft II (PC)
My current goals (starting small!) are to get proficient at piano, and purchase/acquire/become proficient at Sibelius, Protools, etc, and to get my MIDI controller to work (DAMN YOU WINDOWS VISTA DAMN YOOOOU) I also need to work on ear training, hearing chords/melodies, dictation etc.
If anyone has advice on how I should start getting acquainted with this site or other advice, I would very much appreciate it. I look forward to meeting you all!
Peace and love

hey, i play ultimate out at ithaca college.
sibelius is a good choice, but unless you'll be doing everything live you should start with a program like FL studio, sonar, or logic. protools is great in a recording setup, but there's more functionality in a more basic daw. and it's cheaper, by a lot.

Herro everyone!
Looooong time lurker here. When I found OCRemix BigShellWestBristol (http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR00945/) was on the main page. I've checked out the forums from time to time, but mostly just the Judge's Decisions board. However, after attending MAGfest and seeing how great the community here is, I've decided to get involved on the forums. :)
I'm a physics student at UNC Charlotte. I love board games, video games, and music. I "play" guitar and bass, by which I mean I'm better than just playing Smoke On The Water, but I'm not even half a SnappleMan. :-D In terms of remixing, I don't really have any experience. I got form-lettered back in '04 for some crappy thing I did in Project 5. I'd love to get better though, so expect to see me hanging around the WIP boards!
Anywho, nice to meet you all!

Hello everyone!
I just joined today, though I've been a fan of the site for a few months now. I figured I'd join the community, see what I could do to contribute to the site.
I'm pretty much a nerd, and video games and music are my two biggest hobbies.
When it comes to video games, I suppose I like RPG's the best, but I like strategy and puzzle games as well. And I can't pass up a good platformer, even if there aren't that many around anymore. My favorite games include stuff like Legend of Mana, Okami, and Lost Odyssey (by the way, someone needs to remix some of that;-)), to Super Mario Galaxy, Tetris, Portal, and Myst.
I have an N64, DS, Wii, PS2, 360, and a decent computer.
I like both listening to and playing music. I play flute and piano, but I play the former somewhat better I think. I'm not incredibly technic either, mostly relying on tone to get a good chair in orchestra.
I have always loved synthesizers, though I've got no access to one of my own. Coming to this site sparked an interest in digital music, so maybe someday I'll learn to remix... We'll see how that pans out.
Anyway, after my long-winded introduction, I think I'm ready to start poking around a bit.
See you guys!

Hey~ ^^
my name is Belly and I'm 22. I live in germany so probably my english may be not that good.
I love to play the piano and I'm also taking singing lessons for three months now.
I work as a voice actress and I really love this job ♥
A couple of years ago, I started to translate japanese anime openings into german.
Please take a look at my youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/strawbellycaky) if you want to hear some of my work.
I joined the board here cause I wanted to contact Joe Redifer.
I really like his 'ROBOVoice' Remix and I thought about making a german version of his remix : D
But that wasn't the only reason for me to register I really like a lot of remixes here.
Keep it up guys!

Hi everyone!
I've been downloading songs from OC Remix since 2001, went away from the site for a while, and now I've rediscovered it. I love hearing all the unique arrangements that people can put to some of my favorite game music, even if not all of them are my cup of tea.
My favorite series/games include Mario, Zelda, Katamari, Phoenix Wright, Kirby, the Smash Bros. games, and recently, Chrono Trigger. I've been gaming for a long time (I still have my original NES, and it still works!) and I like both new and old-school games. I joined this site to add some reviews of my favorite remixes and to keep up with the community.
I play piano (although I haven't in years) and I love to sing. I'm looking forward to meeting members of the community here. :)

Howdy there, just another Newcomer to enter the fray! I've been a massive man of OCreMix for quite some time now, I first found out about some of your remix's via lastfm I started listening to the Video Games Music station a few months back and soon realised "Boy these OC people do some good stuff" and from them on I've got a few of your packages(FFVII and Chrono Trigger symphany included)
Although currently taking a course in Video Games Development, I realise that alot of my friends had little no realisation of how music was made. Now I've always had a keen ear for music and decided that it could help me prehaps when coming up with my own game concepts if I start to look in music, how its made and what makes a good track and improving on my own knowledge of music(While having a few laughs along the way)
I'm currently a newbie at remixing and making music so I'll look around as I'm sure there is a few helpful topics already posted for that kind of thing. However if anyone could suggest a good newbie friendly program for me to look into that would greatly help me :)
Anyway enough about my quest for music for now, abit about me I suppose. Well I'm currently 18 years old and a Student of video games(as already mentioned) with of course a big passion for games and music in games. (Old to new, from the beeps of pong to full scale symphonys) As for my own music tastes, well I'm somewhat of an Early eighties thrash fan(Metallica in the early days, Anthrax, Megadeth and many more) although I happen to like most types of metal music bar most death metal. I like to play my bass guitar(Just started a month back but getting better) and enjoying the odd beer or twenty.
Anyway enough of that for now! I'll whip myself up a signature/avatar in photoshop and hope to get to know you all soon!

Long Story Behind the Name.
Anyway The Name OCR was being tossed around the internet and I took no notice of it. It wasn't uuntil I heared what you guys can do for myself that got interested. I listened to Storm in the Desert by Tyler Heath on a video on youtube and decided I had to have a download. That led me here. Now I am addicted.
Im an A level Student from The Rhondda Valley's in Wales. I'm studying English, Media, Drama and inevitably, Music. I play Several types of Flute and have just started on the Piano.
Im an unashamed nintendo fanboy.
And While i may not really be up to much writing remixes, unless I can get some software, I really do appreciate all that goes on here.

Greetings OCR! I've been a major fan of this site for quite some time now and have finally decided to join the community. I would call myself a novice mixer hoping to progress my skills in music-making, and what better way than using the video game music I love? If you have any questions about what my music tastes and abilities are, feel free to ask!

Hey, OCR. I've been a long-time lurker (since late '04 or early '05) and registered in '06 under the name Artemis Winter. I just recently did a collaboration with Xaleph over at AnimeRemix and decided to pay a visit back to my roots; so I made a new account under the standard name I go by and release under.
I'm a vocalist rather than a remixer, happy to work with anyone with good ideas, and looking forward to lurking a little less lurk-tastically these days. :P
This song was officially released recently ( http://www.animeremix.org/remix/96/ ). Lira provided some amazing vocals, it's good to see she came back to visit ocremix. (Apologies for IE users, patch will be incoming to fix some formatting issues).

I'm a videogame nut and a music nut, so naturally I like videogame music. I play a little bit of guitar and I'm also studying to become a Sound Engineer, so I want to start making my own tracks soon. I hope I can become a Remixer here, but for now I'm just a forum-dweller.

Hello, all. I've been going to this site for years, and joined a WHILE ago, but have never really gotten into posting.
I've loved video game music for a long time. The first game I remember where I absolutely loved the music was Final Fantasy IV (back when it was II in the U.S. (and I was in the 6th or 7th grade!)). Needless to say, I'm pretty psyched about the new FFIV album coming out!
Don't really game anymore, but the music never gets old to me.

Hello my friends!
How are you all doing? I am Cuda. I've been a listener of OC for a few years, finally decided to join up on here and check it out. Since OC Remix is going to be in my town in August, I thought it'd be a good place to keep tabs on things.
I've been playing bass for 3 years steady now. I love the 5 strings. Can't have Bass without the Low B. I play alot of NES and SNES music. Import midis into guitar pro and such. I've been playing Guitar a bit, I just need to get the feel to it more than anything else.
I've finally gotten around to trying to re arrange and modify some songs. I suppose this is the best place to learn new software and techniques for that too.

i've been writing chip tunes and video game music since i was 12, now im 26. good times. Used trackers forEVER. specifically Modplug. recently switched to Reason because i felt like i outgrew Modplug. its cool though, things are finally starting to sound like they do in my head.
hope to hear some good music and maybe learn a couple tricks and talk smack on the internets. word.

Hello all. Kirby D. Oak here. First of all, it's too bad I hadn't found this place sooner. Then I wouldn't have had so many songs to listen to at once. Not that that they were bad. It just took a good while.
Anyways, I wish I could contribute. I always have songs running through my head, a lot of them video game songs, and I do try to think up different ways of humming them. Unfortunately, I don't have the skills to actually convert what's in my head into actual notes and arrangements. Oh well... Who's to say what's in my head would be worth it anyways.
At any rate, you need more Pokemon avatars available. Like... any would be good.

I've been watching and listening to music from this website for several years with enjoyment, but a few days ago i finally decided to join the group with interest with the community, maybe learn about music moer in depth than i know (which isn't much compared to the group of people here at OCR).
But Im just here saying hello, and im always willing to listen to music here while getting to know some new people I've never met. Maybe i can make some friends here.
If you wanna know bout me or not just say so.
Its been years since I've been part of a forum, so yeah. I dont know how a few things go here, like introductions. Hehe.
But anyways, Hello OCR!
Dj Mokram
03-07-2009, 07:27 PM
Hi everyone,
Got to be honest: this site rocks.
I never expected to stumble upon such dedicated and talented people, all in favor of making (and often re-visiting) video game music.
The work done by this community is just amazing, I just wish I had found this place earlier.
Anyway, I'm Dj Mokram, I'm from W.Europe. I love doing music & listening to it too.
Been working in various styles for some time, I've never really thought that I could do VG music... at least before I found OCR that is!
I'm kind of an "old timer" I guess, since I started gaming during the NES era, but believe me, those 8bit tunes never really got out of my mind (Rockman or Castlevania songs sometimes haunt me at night you know. :dstrbd:).
So, long story short, I'm a big game (& anime) music fan.
I will be trying remixing a little bit, and in the meantime, I thought it was time I paid my due respect to fellow composers, here at OCremix.
I'll try to modestly contribute in my own way. I'll listen, I'll learn, maybe I'll even evolve, but in the end I may be able to share some of my knowledge with other and help too.
Hope to see you around. ;-)

I figured I should introduce myself or something eh. So hello OCRemix community!
I have been visiting the site for a few years now but decided to become more active. I am often inspired by the music I find here but I lack the musical talent to remix for myself at the moment. At some point in the future I would really like to pursue remixing as a hobby but for now I am involved in other things that require a lot of time and effort.
I am currently involved in a few flash projects as well as other graphics oriented projects. Hence why I say my time is currently taken up with things outside of music. I do enjoy listening to a play list of songs from here while I am working on those projects and it really helps keep me motivated and moving forward with things.
At any rate I will not babble on but wanted to say hello now that I have an account registered :)

Well, hi everyone,
I've actually been checking this site in sort of a "lurker" type way for a bit over a year now (since I saw somebody use jproject's "The Ken Song" in a wrestling music video. I kind of thought to myself at first that since I'm not actually a remixer, and am mostly just somebody who really likes and appreciates the work you guys put in, that maybe I'd be out of place. But, since everybody has generally seemed nice from what I've seen here I figured "what the heck". As for a bit about myself, I'm a 21 year old dude from the province of Ontario, I'm Straight-Edge, grew up from the SNES era, do a bit of vid-capping and video editing every now and then, played trombone in high school, and am probably the only Survivor fan around here.
I've been a fan of music in general for as long as I can remember and probably have been a fan of game music since I first heard "Corridors of Time" while playing Chrono Trigger back around 96. But hey, I'll wrap this up before I ramble anymore by saying that I just wanted to say "hi", and hopefully I can contribute to this forum, be it through reviews, opinions, or just general chat.

*Gulp* alrighty then...introduction time. *Breeeeeeeaaaaaaathes in*. Whew...
Hello everyone . My names Kyle and I'm (obviously) new here. I've been listening to tunes off this site for quite some time now, but now listening doesn't do everything it once did. I've just listened to some of the work off of "Summoning of Spirits", and that was the straw that made me feel like I need to tell some folks firsthand just how awesome their work is as I listen to them.
Anyways I hope to be friends with (at least) some of you as time goes on. Take care :<.
Sir_Downunder
04-04-2009, 10:42 AM
*Rubs back of neck* Technically I've been here since last year, but better late than never, right?
Anyways, the name's Sir_Downunder (Or just Downunder if you want) and as you guessed from the name, I'm from Australia, I'm 19, and despite having both and acoustic and electric guitar, can't play for peanuts because I wasn't consistent. I lurked this site probably for a good two years or so years before i basically said 'screw it', and decided to join up last September and haven't regretted it since.
I've been playing videogames since the SNES days (Along with an insatiable craving for Megaman X games) and had a love for music forged from doing school production after school production (with my last one being a broadway) that really kicked off in my teens (rap at first, before switching over to rock)
I'll just wrap it up before i start to really waffle on. Hopefully I'll get off my ass soon and kick myself into gear into getting some mixes on the site.

*scratches head* Where to begin... a name I guess? Okay, well, name's Jared. Call me sefirosu (Sephiroth in Japanese) or sef, for short.
Umm.. I'm 16 and live in South Carolina. I play a little acoustic and electric guitar and bass, some violin, but mostly cello. Depending on certain circumstances, I'll be up for some remix work. So if you need a cellist, lemme know!
Uh... *rubs hands together* I've been lurking the site here for about a year, downloaded Voices of the Lifestream (in case you haven't guessed, my fav. game is Final Fantasy VII), then had to get an account to share my thoughts on the songs and the awesomeness thereof.
Well, I'll cut this off here. I hope to make at least a few friends while I'm here!
Later!

Hello everybody!! I'm also new here, but I've already visited this great community some years ago and I'm amazed about how it has grown since then.
As you can see, I'm a mexican guy, I'm 24, I love videogames (Megaman is my favorite series :D) music and I'm a graphic designer, and I have to admit that I'm a fan of Sixto's musical work hehehe!
I'm part of a newly created group of independient artists here in Mexico, we are producing a comic (it's more like a manga, though) and we want to promote it, I was thinking about composing a musical theme for it, unfortunately, none of us know someone with great music abilities capable of make it, so I came here asking for your help, if possible...
Perhaps it's too early to ask a favor so big, but we know you can do it, if someone wants to help us, we'll be honored to give him/her credit for the work, and we'll find a way to reward this great help. You can contact me through here or via MSN.
If I need to post this request on another sub-forum with more details, please let me know.

A thread specifically exists for people to introduce themselves. You don't get to make your own.
As for your sig question, does it really need to be asked? Just look through your forum preferences to figure out how to set up your sig. If you need a sig, just make one.

I found out about OCRemix by going to my local laser tag arena, where they played some amazing remixes, so I thought I'd give it a try. About two years later, and I'm now posting in the forums.

Hello there. I'm new to these forums, but not exactly new to this site. A quick little backstory-ish:
I first stumbled across OCR while looking for some Shinobi III music and downloaded the only remix from that particular soundtrack by one Mr. Rayza. Since then, I've been dropping by the site pretty frequently, indulging in the many musical offerings here. That's right ladies and gents, I'm a lurker from ALL the way back in 2003.
I'm not sure if being a stalker on OCR for nearly six years deserves a medal or a straitjacket, but regardless, I think its high-time I ditched my voyeuristic ways and tried to take a more hands-on approach with a community whose music has impacted me in a positive manner. Hell, I even bought an OCR Jersey a couple years back.
So that's my wee little testimony. I could write up something a little more extensive later, but I think its better if I put my money where my mouth is.:-P Can someone tell me if I've missed the cut-off date for donating to that fund-raiser? I feel like I should give a little something after all the bandwidth I've sucked up for the past few years.
Edit: Donation's all taken care of. Hope it helps.

Hey, everyone. My name's Jonathan. My friend Makai showed me this site when I asked if he knew any good music centered communities (specifically FL Studio). I gave a listen to some of the remixes and songs around here, and they sound incredible. I'm hoping to learn some new things while I'm here, make some friends, and hopefully critique some tunes and get my own music critiqued by you guys. Hope to see you around.
By the way, I'm a no-name acoustic artist, doubt you've ever heard of me, The Runaway Rescue. If you're interested in hearing my music, just let me know, or just look towards my future posts. :P

Hey OCRemix,
Noob Rig1015 here. Looking to make an impact on the site. My sisters friend Kyle recommended I look up this site after posting my FFIV Prelude Remix on YouTube. Wish we had something like this about 7 years ago, love the concept of the site. I've been rearranging VG music since 1996 and am looking to share/contribute to the site as much as possible.
If any other Noobs or members are interested you can see my original works here at soundclick (http://www.soundclick.com/amrus) and my various remixes here at YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/rig1015).
Thx

Hi at all, I came here to submit my music and to gain experience.
I mainly use Finale and FL Studio 8 to produce my music, and I'm still learning :p
So... I hope that I can learn a lot on this site and look forward to hearing those awesome tunes :D

Hey, my name is Andrew. I came here from the TF2 server that you guys were hosting and its been a blast playing with you guys so far. I have no experience in remixing music but I definitely have had some simple experiene with FL. I highly enjoy vgm so hopefully when the time comes I will be able to remix some samples for you guys :)

Hey. Name's Koru as far as everyone is concerned. Played oboe and flute for a while, but as far as composing and remixing goes, I have no clue. I'm trying to learn but I honestly think my role here will probably be feedback more than anything.

Greetings newcomers. Welcome to OCR. Due to the recent outbreak of various illnesses, and to keep in good standings with the health department, we've begun screening all new OCRians. If you'll kindly form a line right over there by that door, our resident doctor will check for any viruses, prostate problems, hernias, lumps in your testicles and/or breasts, yeast infections, runny ears, watery noses, happy feet, idle hands, wandering eyes, drifting minds, and other assorted health and/or mental issues.
Enjoy your stay!

Hello everybody,
I'm a newly registered member, La Yinn. I've been browsing this site for quite some time now and after lurking the forums a bit I decided to join this splendid community. I'd like to properly introduce myself first. :-) (Close the topic if it's against the rules, though I did read the forum rules and it didn't say anything about these kind of topics)
So yeah. My real name is Alex, often referred to as La Yinn. I'm 16 years old and I've started producing around last year September, though I only really started getting into it around January this year. I use FL Studio (and as for everybody around my age, I do what I can with free VSTs and effects. Low budget. :( ), but I'm trying to get into ReNoise aswell.
I stumbled upon this site a few months back via the Newgrounds profile of Zirconmusic. (Well, that's his/her NG account name.) I'm a Newgrounds member myself, though I rarely post any audio there anymore due to the general unhelpfulness of the reviews. I'm giving OCRemix a shot because I believe this community has a lot to offer. I've listened to a few tracks on this site and they all sound, well, professional. I'm hoping to find a fun and helpful community here, to improve myself as a producer aswell as having a good time.
That's a bit about me. *waves*

Welcome to ocr. :D If you're looking for feedback on your music, remixes go here (http://www.ocremix.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16), other songs go here (http://www.ocremix.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=19).
Hi, ladies and gentlemen.
I finally joined the forums after checking out the music here for so long. I have to say, I'm an inspired fan. This site combines my two loves!
Anyway, I'm studying to be a game designer at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh: Online. Since the college is online, I have a lot more time to do what I enjoy doing and less time on the road which is what I was doing before I transferred. The long drives were relaxing and pleasant, however, but that's another story.
I was in band in high school. I fell in love with the french horn. Unfortunately, I do not own one myself (money's a bit tight), but I do take one from my old high school whenever I need it. I'm lucky to still have that bit of talent in me. The horn took me places. It's an odd instrument, but I'm a pretty odd guy. I was the only kid in high school completely obsessed with video games, after all.
What else is there to say? Well, I have a few ideas in the back of my mind for some jazz mixes of a couple of songs, but I believe they'll stay there for awhile. I'll just hum them to myself until I rummage up some mixing talent to compliment my compositions.
Until then, I'll just listen in awe of what's already here!

Well, I came in...I have been a fan of this site for at least 5 years now. I finally decided to register and maybe I might rock some seemingly unrockable melodies (http://www.pressthebuttons.com.nyud.net:8090/audio/RainbowRoad.mp3) (that's not mine)...I'll probably end up creating electronic mixes instead D:> Anyway, I'm a metalhead and a Sonic fan, currently working on a Fan Game "The Great Four" Other than that I'm not too busy (except working), being out of school for nearly a year now X•

Hello all. I've been a fan of OCRemixes for years, and signed up on the forum quite a while ago (just noticed it was Apr 2007 lol) I have a song I remixed that I may post here soon. I did the best arrangement I could with my current tool set and my knowledge to use them, and hope that I can maybe get some positive feedback on it.
Though I've been creating original music for years (over 10) and some random arrangements of songs, I believe I may lack the equipment and knowledge to make a remix worthy of OCRemix, and financially it's just something that I can't do, and even if I could I'm not sure I would pay the loads of money just to support a hobby.
I look forward to interacting with you all and listening to your music as well.

Hello everybody! I'm Thiago Ribeiro from Brazil. I don't know how to speak english so good but I'll try my best to join this community and learn a lot of stuff as possible.
When I was in the final year of my highschool, I knew about the OC Remix (I'm in the college now doing Social Comunication: Multimedia).
I specially like to compose movie music clips and there's an example of my work:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaBRhVlqAmo
I gave all the credits to the artists, this site and the company ( Nintendo, Sega ). If you know about remixing and want to ilustrate your work, pm me. I don't know about animation yet (2D or CGI) but you can send the videos you want in.
Thanks to All!

I suppose I should make use of this topic.
It's about high time I registered here. I've been going to this website for the longest time, and loving the remixes ever since. I've been making original music and remixes for a number of years, and for some reason, never thought to go on here and register.
I'll admit, I was intimidated, as I know my music is absolutely no where near the quality of even the moderate remixers on this website, and didn't necessarily want to feel as though I would decrease the quality of the forum by wanting critique.
But hey, you've got to start at the beginning of somewhere where the majority of users are music and audio-oriented, hmm?
So, yes. I plan on soon showing a few of my remixes on here and getting some critique, and getting to know as many of the forum members as I can!
oh yeah and i guess talk about other things in general on the other forums but that's for later

Well, I think I've been lurking here long enough to commit and write a post. Hi everybody. =)
Beyond introducing myself, I want to start off by thanking everybody who's contributed to or helped to maintain this site. For several years now, OCR has provided me with a wonderful source of consistantly quality music. I see a level of passion here that I don't see often. I'm not a musician at all - I've never written a note, nor have I tried to play an instrument. But I have a great deal of respect for people who can tell a story, or relay an emotion, or simply just have fun, all through the use of sound. The music here has been absolutely inspiring, so thanks again for this wonderful site and all the hard work you've put into it.

Hello! I live in Athens, Ga. I've been doing occasional remixes along and along, and used to frequent VGMix before it got hacked/fell into a state of disrepair. I have to admit, I was previously intimidated by the submission process here. This will be my first serious attempt at getting stuff into OC Remix. I'm really looking forward to taking advantage of the wealth of advice and criticism available in these forums and hopefully giving back with my own information [poor though it may be].

Good evening OCR.
I'm Count Veizatun II. I'm an avid listener of OCR so it was high time for me to join(Well I joined a while ago but haven't posted until now because of school) But i'm here now, and that's what's important. I'm big into cartooning and such, but i'm also trying to compose music for my own youtube series.

I suck at animating as of yet, but in the meantime i got puppets. Because everything is better with puppets. One thing to note about me however...and this might shock some of you...or not, is that I DESPISE Anime! So if I ever post my artwork here be prepared to see you're favorite anime characters being blown to bits by a legally retarded communist dictator. FYI I'm not prejudice...I hate all anime equally, so don't worry about a thing. So with that in mind I look forward to getting to know all of you. cheerio.

Hi, I'm Paradigm. I discovered this site a few days ago. I had always seen songs all over the internet with the OC ReMix tag on them, but thought it was just an umbrella term. Much to my surprise it's an actual site based on music, and video game music, no less!
I'm a jazz trombonist and bandleader myself and I hope to make lots of submissions- that is, when I find some recording equipment that doesn't amount to a Rosetta Stone mic in my bedroom. If you're interested in my help I'd be happy to provide recordings if you think you can somehow improve the quality of my recordings and find a way to compensate for how dead my room is.

Herro, as you can see just a bit above me my names shasticusus. I enjoy music and wanna know how to remix it but vaguely know where to begin. Once i DO figure out how though I'll most likely put them here if at all possible.
I plan on doing some lurkin' around soon to find a guide or something on remixing stuff. If any of you could get back to me on how to it would be much appreciated! =D

My name is Aaron. I've been checking out OCR since it's inception. Been a long time listener and I have always loved the place. I've no idea why it took me so long to join the forums... always got sidetracked by other things I guess. But it's good to be here. I like what I've seen of the community and hope to become a part of it.
One question I have is what, if any, worth does having vocal skills do here? I've always thought it would be cool to try to collaborate with someone that needed a male vocalist for their songs. I can't play any instruments and I have never used any remixing platforms, but I do have a good voice. Regrettably, I have no proof of that online as of yet, but I will put something up at some point. So, if anyone ever needs a male singer, let me know and I'll try to work something out.
Thanks for reading my dull intro. :P Hope to make a lot of friends here.

Woa, your text is all in red.... neat.
What kind of voice do you have, bass, bari, tenor, lyric, pop, etc.? Performers are always welcome on OCR, as long as they're willing to share their talent with others (as you seem to be).
Welcome to OCR :-P.
Darth Magus

You can change your font color at the top of the text box. :)
As for my voice, I was a Tenor 1 that could dip down to baritone, so I have decent range. I'm not the greatest at sight reading, but once I get hold of a tone I can follow it easily.
Good to know, though, that I would not be shunned just because I'm not an actual remixer.

he was commenting on the fact that no one (except for wacky, once and a while) uses font colors since they're a little five years ago.
you should get into barbershopping, like some of the other guys on this site (escariot). best way to improve your voice.
contribute to the site in the form of posts and stuff in general, and put that you're a singer in your sig. the best way to get collab requests is to be known for what you do - that's where i get all mine, i'm one of the better sax players on the site and have a couple remixes to prove it. fishy's known for being a guitar shredder, pixie's known for melting 16-year-old boy's ears off...you get the picture.
another way is to pop into projects and volunteer your abilities for anyone who needs them. i know lufia's getting off the ground, and link's awakening and super dodgeball are still chugging along.

Ah, right... guess it's just a thing I do. Nothing special meant by it. :D
I have barbershopped a bit, but it's been a couple of years. It was a lot of fun though. I'm trying to get involved in a community choir but I haven't had much time as of late. Hopefully I'll get the chance soon. And yes, I know all about pixie. Well, her songs anyway. She's a great vocalist, someone I admire, along with Injury, Star Salzman and whomever the singer is for Game Over. I like your stuff too. I've been a Super Dodge Ball Fan since I first had a Nintendo. Great fun game and excellent music. Were you also involved in NBNG?
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll be sure to use them.

I've downloaded about 400 remixes, downloaded some of both ssf2t albums, some of kong in concert, some of chrono symphonic, kirby, radical dreamers, and all of the sonic 2 and 3 and knuckles project albums.
Just saying hi and that hopefully when i get a great laptop later in the year (when win7 comes installed) and get regular internet access again in march. I'll try my hand at remixin. until then, later.
BTW, i'll add twitter/myspace/facebook link/profile, avatar, sig, etc. later on probably thursday. Well maybe not a sig I don't have any good ones.

Hi, I'm Damileth ((real name's somewhere on my profile or whatever x_x)) I'm not really super new to ocremix, about a few years ago I stumbled upon the godly list/torrent that had over 1000 songs of video game remixs, many I still listen to today... but i've never actually stepped in.
Bunch of stuff is going on in my life right now.. and i'm slowly turning back to an old passion of mine that i've unfortantly slipped out of in the past 3-4 years. Music. I'm trying to teahc myself the piano, I need to start playing my sax some more... and I kinda wanna learn the guitar some more, but I just don't know where to start... so much other stuff I want to do too... but I need to take it in time.
Anyway... i'll probably lurk around abit... see if I can get any tips/pointers for doing any of what I mentioned above... and maybe get into the ReMix'ing part of this community. ((still have no idea what kind of synth or equalizer program to get in the first place, but i'll cross that bridge when it comes XD))
anyway... hi.. and.. yeah *fidgets*

My bad man.
Man, first post on the site and I make a fool out of myself lol.
...hi, I'm ÆI, or Andi...or ÆI. if you want. I don't mind.
I found ocremix...a few weeks ago, maybe? and downloaded some songs, followed by some albums (all awesome...so far, anyway), before finally deciding to join today.
I learnt (along with most other second generation Chinese immigrants) piano for a few years, so I can play...reasonably well, i think. I'm better at improvising though.
I can sing as well...but I've never really learnt anything about singing apart from some techniques acquired during school choir practice...
As for mixing, I can do it, but so far its been 6 months of fiddling around with virtual knobs and sliders, the effects of which I half understand from a semester-long year 9 music tech class ...I made some songs along the way too.
...erm, yeah. introduction finished...

Hey, I'm zerossoul. I've been listening to songs on OCR for at least 5 years. About two years ago, I was inspired to join the fray. so I started gathering VST's and such, and learning different programs. And now, I finally got to the point where I feel confident that I can do some arrangements.
I've been playing the paino for 10 years, and the cello for 7. I can play the guitar, but I'm not that great. I grew up in a very musically inclined familly. Both my parrents are in a bluegrass band, and my mom teaches orchestra.
I have one arrangement that I'm currently working on and would like to get some feedback, does anyone know the best way to do that?

Remix Challenge
07-09-2009, 05:00 AM
Warning! Challenger approaching!
Hello. I've been browsing this site for several years, enjoying the music and contemplating joining these forums.
It was time to stop thinking about it and just do it.
I am not a Remixer. I may become one someday, who knows. But neither am I just a random lurker. No, I have a different purpose here.
I am the Remix Challenge. What does this mean? Several things:
It means there are some games with excellent soundtracks that are either underrepresented or not represented on this site at all.
It means I am here to change that.
It does not mean I am here to tell you what to do; on the contrary, I am here to give ideas, to possibly dispel Composers' Block. And, of course, to see Remixes made of songs from some darn good soundtracks. To inject inspiration of my own unique brand into this community.
I am aware that there are probably plenty of people here with a similar purpose. But...
They are not me. That is all that matters.
Now, serious mission statements aside, it's time for my personal introduction. My name is Remix Challenge; You can call me by my screen name, or you can call me Katie. Your choice.
As I said, I am not a Remixer; I do, however play the piano and compose my own music. I'm not going to say I am a pro piano player; I am good at it, however. I have recently ordered Cakewalk Home Studio 2002--because it was cheap and because Dr. Fruitcake recommended it in his FAQ, which may or may not be outdated. I really don't care.
I do love music, video game music especially. I'm not a big fan of heavy metal or rock-type music, though there are exceptions. I dislike rap.
I will try not to let my musical opinions get in the way of my Remix Challenges.
That is all.
Good day!
Hi everyone. I just stumbled across this forum and I noticed here's some pretty useful stuff. I'm an FL Studio user, not very experienced though. I have no "musical education" at all and I don't know that much about "remixing" or what it actually even means. :D
Anyway, I'll post some of my songs, (I've made like 10 or so) and feel free to point out anything you like. I really would like to know how to make this stuff.
So.. See ya around. I'll be probably asking a lot of dumb questions in the near future. :>
Edit: Bleh. I just noticed the "Newbie Introductions" sticky.. D:
Hey, I'm RDX. I mix and arrange myself a little, however I've had to use freaking Mixcraft to do my songs, so it's been kind of tedious (Since I own a MIDI keyboard and it doesn't even support it) and the sound quality has been terrible.
However I plan on getting FL Studio one of these days. I'd say I'm only half decent at this point, but that'll change with time, I guess. I'm a little clueless when it comes to technicalities though, and music is just a hobby for me, it's not much of a passion, so I don't really know how far I'll get.
Instead of babbling on and on like other people seem to have, I'll just stop there. I don't know how active I'll be, I guess it depends on whether or not I decide to continue putting time and effort in becoming a better musician. So I'll see you around...maybe.
Oh, and I have an awesome voice, or so I've been told. I've never seriously tried singing. So if I ever find a way of singing I'll let you know...maybe.
That's a lot of maybes.

Hello to all,
It was pure coincidence that I stumbled upon this site after finding something about the FF4 Remix torrent and, although it makes sense that a site like this would exist somewhere on the inet, I've never seen one or searched for one. It's a pleasant surprize as remixing video game themes is a hobby of mine inbetween my normal production :)
Background... I was a member of pHluid back in 2000-2001 under the name ej*Quo but admittedly I was INCREDIBLY newbie at making any sort of music at that time! I've since gotten much much better in all aspects and my focus has turned primarily to hip-hop but I still dabble in drum n bass and of course, video game remixes.
I have over 1,000 unique productions under my belt, 80% of which are quality, and about 50-60 being remixes from video games. I'm going to be making my first submission soon (today) and I'm hoping I have the time to catch up on the forums here to familiarize myself with the culture of the site.
Does that work for a hello? (((I'm a ranter at heart)))

Sup guys. This is ZaxCG2 otherwise known as Zax... or my less extreme name Zach. (Everything is extreme when you put an x on it).
I've been hanging around the site for the wealth of like 6 or 7 years I want to say... I would come here, listen to some good music, download the tracks I like. It wasn't until last weekend during my first time at Otakon, an anime convention in Baltimore, that I realized I would like to start getting into the community more.
The OC Remix panel there was a blast... pretty much the highlight of my whole weekend there. It was then that I realized that I should try and give back to the site which I've held on to for so long and buy a few T-shirts! Instead of grabbing some and moving on, though, I was cut off and ended following a group led by liontamer (http://www.ocremix.org/artist/4755/liontamer) all the way down 4 stories of the convention center to a booth (apparently you could only sell things in a certain room?). I'm very glad I followed though, because it gave me a chance to chat with everyone from the panel and get my shirt signed by anyone I could find. :D Can't believe I got to meet djpretzel (http://www.ocremix.org/artist/4279/djpretzel), too!
So yeah, everyone from OC Remix that I met, I just want to say thanks for being awesome. It was nice talking to you all!
Also, the FFIV album is so amazing. It was really enjoyable listening to it on my trip home! Kudos to everyone and anyone who worked on it!

Oh it feels good to finally be on here. After years of hearing Halc talk about this wondrous community, I finally felt up to joining and seeing what kind of music I, myself, could contribute. I've been writing for sometime now, but have only recently turned focus to remixing like Halc and Chthonic, my personal influences from my hometown. I love what everyone does here and look forward to becoming a part of it all!

i'm a DJ from St. Louis that has been producing for around a year. i've only got about 10 completed tracks, and only 4 of them i ever play at shows because of the mastering. there's a DJ and audio engineering graduate in StL that offers professional mastering services for a relatively inexpensive fee, but i'm pretty sure he just applies the same mastering chain to everything, which is something i'm really not interested in. i inquired about his services before i found this out, and now he keeps bugging me :|
anyway, i came here when i posted one of my remixes from Zelda: Link to the Past on YouTube, and i got a comment from a user here. i sent him a message and he gave me a lot of pointers on the track, so here i am. i'm here to learn more about making sounds sound better. i already know i'm good at making quality tunes, i just want them to sound shiny and sparkly.

Hello people. This is the ever lurking Haburi. I've been familiar with this website for quite a while and am greatly in fond of some particular zelda remixes as well as some metroid ones. I come here mainly to enjoy listening the results of great amounts of musical talent and devotion.
That being said, I am part of a new project involving the revival of MREO. (Metroid reorchestrated.) Expect a thread about that to be made soon.
So... uh. Hi. :3

hi all!
i came across ocr only...around february, i think, when i downloaded voices of the lifestream. i was pretty much hooked by the epic sounds i heard and almost died of happiness when i found out that there was MORE. a lot more.
i'm not a remixer. i haven't even done anything musical in the past year. i just really love what goes on here. i joined because, well, i want to see more of how things happen here. maybe one day i'll come across the means and the patience to tackle my own musical endeavours.

So, my second post after helping someone out in my first post! I'm Laurens, 19 years old, and I live in Holland. I just finished college with final exams last year (on the highest level possible here), and will be doing the education "Composition And Music Technology" on the High School of Arts Utrecht, in Hilversum. I've been playing piano for 10 years now, also play a bit guitar and I'm a house DJ and producer.
The genres I like are very diverse; from rock to classical, movie/game soundtracks, electronical like house (more the progressive side of house though) and pop and jazz. Pop artists/bands I like at the moment: Jason Mraz, Snow Patrol, OneRepublic. My favorite filmcomposer is Hans Zimmer. What my goal is in the musicworld: no idea, I really like the idea of producing for artists, scoring for films and things like that. So that's why I'm starting with this education in September ;-)
What can I tell more... I've done arrangements for Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2, from the piano arrangement to an orchestral piece, without using the original published orchestral score, and am also busy with creating an orchestral piece from a solo piano piece.
Hardware/software: I just got a Macbook Pro 15" 2,66 Ghz with Logic Studio, completely new to the Apple stuff, but it feels and works very good. Before that I worked (and still work for now) with Reason and Sibelius for producing and scoring/arranging/writing. What I'm gonna do here: hope to contribute with some awesome remixes!
Hi Everyone! i'm new to OCremix as a remixer and i was just wondering if there was a spot on the site that had tips for making your remixes sound good. note me if you have any suggestions at all ^0^ thanks

Hi everybody,
While this site is definitely not new to me, these forums are. I've been enjoying OCR for about 8-9 years now off and on and video game music in general my entire life. I decided to finally register because I'm a little older now and I feel like I can finally invest some time into a community that I really do appreciate and care about.
First I want to say thank you to djpretzel and anybody else who was a part of making this site and whoever helped keep it going strong. Also all of the DJ's that have contributed to making VGM remixes. This site has brought me a lot of joy over the past years and I just wanted to acknowledge everybody for that.
Thank You.
Now a little about myself,
I grew up playing video games my entire life. I was born in the NES generation (born Aug 1985, two months later Nintendo launched in America Oct 1985). My earliest video game memory was when I was 3 years old, I played Galaga on my older brothers NES all night long until I practically peed my pants (Considering I was only 3 I probably did lol). Fast forward 20 years and I now work in the industry working a dream job as a video game tester.
I know how to read music and play the piano poorly haha, but at least well enough to teach myself a song if I wanted to learn one. A.K.A. I only ever want to learn how to play my favorite video game songs.
My music genre of choice is Electronica with the main sub genres being Trance/Eurodance/Dance which I'm not surprised since I've been listening to repetative video game music my whole life.
I love all video game genres but my favorite growing up were the amazing platform games that you don't see anymore today (marios, megamans, dk countrys, earthworm jims etc). As I grew older I started to really enjoy RPG's and now I pretty much play anything I can get my hands on since it's all considered "market research."
Anyways hello all and I hope to see you around on the site! Happy Remixing!

Grandiose Post Meridies!
I found this site about 2 weeks back while looking up information on the Chrono Trigger Soundtrack, and I can deffinately say I am pleased by what I've found on the site so far.
I think that is excellent that there is a comunity out here doing this, promoting the enhancement of musical talent as well as remembering past games, with quality control and community input.
I'm a Computer Science graduate with hopes of someday creating games (though my current career isn't really along those lines)
Currently, one of the many things I do as a hobby is creating music (no remixes yet, but I may give it a shot). I have a little over an hour of my own music in MIDI form in various stages of completion. (all created through the Free version of Anvil Studio) Nothing is near the level of quality I see on this site, so ... I'll be looking through the forums for how to take that next step in production.
I occasionally volunteer to run a local soundboard, and I've done the audio cleanup/leveling on the video releases of a few theatre productions... but don't really have any formal training doing so. If anyone knows of a program or method that will let me run a multi-track MIDI through for mixing purposes, I would be grateful.
Thank you! Pleased to meet you all!

Hoy ^^;;
Just decided maybe I should start here in getting involved with the community. I'm a long time visitor of ocr, and I actually created this account a long while back, but this is my first time really participating in the forums.
I've been playing around with music for a little while now (In garageband though +_+) and I'm trying to develop a better understanding of how music works and why things that sound good... sound good =P
I'm a seasoned artist in the visual sense of the term. I've got a deviantart (of the same name. maybe you've seen me or my stuff) but I've always wanted to get into the aural realm of art.
so I finally acted on those urges and I'm starting to work my way around the world of sound. Still learning the basics, but I trust my time here and my efforts in arranging and making music will eventually get me feeling comfortable.
I already have a background in traditional music, having taken piano for around a decade, and having played in a concert band through middle school and highschool (playing percussion). But my understanding of music theory is still microscopic compared to my experience in the visual department. But again, I hope my efforts and my time spent here will maybe one day get me to the point where I can arrange music worthy of the long list here on ocr!

Hello all! Newbie here. I've been listening to music on the site for a while, and I finally decided to check out the forums. Music isn't my main thing, but my dad was a music major in college and he's given me random little music theory lessons over the years. As far as video games go, I've been a Nintendo fanboy all my life and that will never change. I've dabbled a tiny bit in composing and arranging music, so I might try my hand at submitting a remix here at some point, but mainly I just want to hear other people's interpretations of video game music. So yeah, that's about it, I guess. I don't know what else to say...

Hi, I'm new, and after spending a few days lurking in Off Topic and alienating myself in a thread there, I have made quite an ass of myself. Apparently, being a 6 year forum veteran of Animechains.net and a 1 year veteran of MegamanX9.com's forum, I figured that I was too good to post in the newbie thread...apparently not, it appears I've already made some enemies in the Off Topic forum...so thanks to them for the GENEROUSLY warm welcome...
Otherwise,
again, I'm new to OCRemix, I was recommended by a friend who loves the music, I love music, and video games, so of course i had to come check it out, I'm one of the Administrators of the new Animechains. I do some decent Photoshop work, I've already done some over in Off Topic, another way for me to break the ice...
Thanks for having such an awesome site!

I hail from the OCR TF2 server! My brother was a fan of OCR a while ago when I started playing TF2 for srs, and I stumbled across the server and was all "oh hey it's those guys that that guy likes". Recently I've started learning guitar and music theory and asked myself, "What's a good community I could join online to foster my interest in music?" Then, while playing TF2, the answer dawned on me.

Hey everyone, I've been coming to this site for a couple of years now. I forgot my old user name so I had to make a new one. I've been playing on the TF2 server and I decided to well come back.
How's everyone?

Hi Everyone,
I am a HUGE music geek. (Failed at going to college for music engineering, but that's mainly because schooling + me = not so much...) However, I have a fairly good ear for music, and a thoroughly varied pallet.
I ran an internet radio station for several years, and am currently employed by a non-profit organization that works to connect people to civic engagement initiatives, and thus build stronger and healthier communities. I am their main tech-person-of-doom, and have been managing the back-end of their systems for two years. (Mostly focused on web-technology, but have recently branched out into writing a technology-training curriculum). Before that I ran my radio station for 3 years, and before that I was an assistant store manager @ a Gamestop (when it was still Funcoland is when I got my start.)
Anywho, I haven't had a good chance to work my creative juices in some time now, and since I've been poking around here for a while now, decided I would finally create an account and open my mouth.
Tactical RPGs & SNK Fighters (Samurai Spirits/Shodown & Last Blade specifically) are by bread & butter, however like any good gamer I have a deep grounding in the platformers of yore.
I have a decent amount of production & remix experience, and have done production for several local acts, mostly as a way to connect with people and expand their art (so yeah, I will travel with my laptop & record people for free). I started with a tascam 8-track back in my high-school days, and have since gone bozo on a MacBook Pro with Logic & an M-Audio Firewire 410, and a supplementary Behringer mixing board.
Oh wow, my "gee look imanewb" post has gone way over my comfort level in terms of ramblieness, so I am going to stop now. However, i look forward to being a part of this community (though I may be a sporadic contributor at times as my job makes me SUPER BUSY) and hope that I can get a remix that will be judge worthy in the coming months.

If by "a lame attempt at sarcastic trolling" you mean "making an alt account and pretending to be new" then yeah.
Alt accounts aren't allowed. Please use the forum for actually talking about things, rather than screwing around.
Enjoy your week off.

Hey all. I'm Ryumaru-MG, Ryumaru or just Ryu for short. I've listened to a good deal of the Sonic remixes from here, and kinda wanted to get in on the act. So if I seem like a total n00b... well, there you go. I hope I can pull off some awesome stuff here, eventually. Now, I just need to get pointed in the right direction...

Hi OCRemix forum community people!
I'm Metroidfan10, and I'm a fan of Metroid (go figure right?). I've been enjoying mixes from here since 2003, and finally decided to join in the discussion. I might even try to do some remixing of my own. I'm a guitarist, so that would probably be the media I'd use.
