What did you think? Post your opinion of this ReMix.
Pretty fresh and original. The second half was my favorite as I thought the first half was kinda lacking some flow and in my opinion, the volume cut effects were somewhat exorbitant. But the rest of the stuff in here is great. You messed with pretty much every element of the original a little bit and made it something very interesting to listen to. Keep up the good stuff!

I actually liked all the sound manipulation in this piece...as I rule I've never really cared for the kung fu "ah!" or whatever you want to call it...and that sometimes rubs me the wrong way in this piece...but what do I know? I'm just a consumer not a remixer...
Other than that, I'd have to say that I really like it, it has some really good energy! Good stuff!

:? Sounds a little too cluttered for my liking. Something about the bass bothers me, too. I guess I've got a sensitive ear, though. Timing seems illogical in places. There's some clashes with notes at the end, something I've noticed Sir Nuts does fairly frequently in many songs I've heard from him. The percussion and breaks keep it interesting, but overall, there's a tad too many issues within the song that bring it down. Alright overall, but it could have done with some patching up before the final submission.

It's 7:45 AM Eastern time and there're already 4 posts? Wow we have some serious insomniacs here. Anyways, I like how energetic this remix is. Sometimes though, the percussion which should be the base of the song goes off and gives the song a strangely disconnected feel. That only happens a few ties though, and overall this is pretty good.

Yo...check the location! It may be 7:45 Eastern...but what time is it in Japan?
First of all CONGRATS S|R NUTS! High energy remix going on in here. Samples not too bad, easy to notice its Fruity loops for some reason. Cauple of wrong(ish) notes. And yea, like the other guy said, repetitive without being repetitve....it made sens. Well, nothing else I can say but..its a very fun remix and it deserves to be on OC.

Ehh.... Aesthetically, I don't like those little "uh!"s that are infused in the song. I really like the take on the melody, but I think skull got it right when he said "too cluttered".
In the creative effort, the feel of the piece is lost.
Not a keeper, by any means. Sorry.

I always enjoy Nuts' stuff. It always sounds so tricked out. This is definately not a piece to have on in the background though; it requires the full attention of the listener. Very good stuff.
Ah yes...another IronMix on OCR, so considering this was done in a week, very hot stuff. Great job.

heh, thanks for the comments. I must admit that this is not my best work, but it's still good. And remember, this was done in a week for IMC #12. SO I worked on it only 5 or 6 hours. heh, but anyways, expect more mixes from me posted in ocr, and more ironmixes too!!

This mix was a very interesting twist to the original. Very nicely done. It sounds a lot more lively than the other Metropolis theme, more like the sound of a busy, active city. At times, though, I think it dulls some of the original aspects that used to stick out in my head while I played the game; it very nearly makes me feel as though I am listening to a different song. But still, nice job.

I'm going to be completely honest. This sucks.
I'll elaborate. The sounds used were HIGHLY annoying, the arranging was HIGHLY repetitive, and it was HIGHLY cluttered.
Sorry, but in my opinion, I don't see why this was posted.

I wouldn't say this exactly sucks, it is probably the worst song I've heard in the main OCRemix library in quite a while. The sounds are indeed *really* annoying. At least I did learn from this that you can use bad instruments or a repetitive melody and still make a good mix... as long as you don't put the two together.

I liked this song, the drums are really cool and fast, radically groovy in my opinion. I liked the bass, i liked the crazy wacky panning effects, it just seemed cool to hear so many effects all in on song. Great job.

Heh, I guess it's a love it or hate it mix lol.
I'm just glad that some people liked it. Even if it were just one person, I still would be happy just knowing that he really enjoyed something made by me ^_^.

Not one to be able comment professionally on the loops and theory behind this I do say that it sounds all the better after multiple listenings. It grows on you and that is the kinda music that is so fun.

Hey, I really like the idea here. Cool starts and stops.
But damn - the samples are bad. Sounds like it's all preset sounds or something.
Gotta do better on the samples/sounds. Otherwise, cool arrangement. Never would have thought to do this song.

I really enjoy this mix. The synth's and drums are really satisfying and just have a lot of energy. The beat is very well done and I think that Sir Nuts did a good job with creating a fun song.
Definitely one of my favorites from the site. I have to admit I'm surprised that some people are saying they think it isn't even good enough to be posted :?

damn this is good. you listen to it a few times and it gets better... pretty catchy. i dunno, maybe its just partly the nostalgia factor, but nice representation of the Metropolis music- good work.

Excellent remix! One of my favorites to date. Catchy tune, nice effects, sufficient variety with what is given to work with.
Be sure to listen with headphones! As it makes the dropouts and fades much more pronounced and trippy.
If this wasn't obviously a game remix it would be pretty good to play at a rave or some such party.

Ehh.... Aesthetically, I don't like those little "uh!"s that are infused in the song. .
I second that, but the rest is awesome. I guess Im in the "love it" side of the arguement for this song.
Seriously I cant think of anything wrong about this piece except the "uh" parts...

owww....
Now its good to begin with...then the main melody synths come in. They irritate me immensley.
The whole thing sounds off beat when the (quite frankly, overused and irritating) "uh" sounds come in...I know it isnt, but they give that imperssion.
The thing pans left to right frantically...occasionally pulled off well but for the most of the time it just makes it worse.
The whole thing sounds hugely cluttered and repetetive...
¿Honestly pretz, what is this even doing here?

Definately one of my favourite remixes on this site. The original song had plenty to work with and S|r Nuts pulls it all off really well (IMO). I don't have any grudges at all against any part of this song and it doesn't get repetitive which is usually the biggest issue in any song. I hope I can hear more from this guy. There's a real split in opinions here: you either love this song or you don't, it seems.

I don't know how people can say that it is the worst remix on Overclocked, that's a bit harsh. What about Vegita's Mega Man "remixes?" Overall, I liked it, although it is very repetitve.

Geez, I'm glad I listened to this before I looked at the comments. So much negativity! And yet, this is on the top of my playlist, as it has been for a while now. I love it!

8) Hi I must Be honnest, ive heard a lot or remixes on this site and i think this is in my top 5.
The dynamics and adventure this remix offers are unique. The drums and the base are "Solid", I love the pan effects and the melody is enhanced from the original but still obvious where the song was originated from.
Not Bad for 6 hours work. :D 10/ 10
It's songs like this that only come around once in awhile. They may not be the most technically astounding (To me it is:), but the help remixers just starting out to see what one day could be. And the fact that all this was done in a week, when it takes me five times that amount just to figure out what I want to do with the melody. The effects and chopping are truly impressive, and the overall feel of this song compared to the original is very different (which in my opinion, is what a remix is supposed to do). What can I say, 10/10. Very good.

This really brings me back.
Makes me remember whatchting my big brother playing the sonic games, it was wonerfull just whatching.
(I still can't beat metropolis zone, it's sad, really xD)
It sticks to the original game's beat and general idea- but it makes it so much better.
The 'uh!'s are a little cheesey, but only when you only listen to them. They really add to the mix when you listen to the mix a whole, not parts. I think they make the mix sound better, but that is just my opinion.

Weeeeeeeee! this is fun! I've got this on my mp3 player at the moment (i'm in college and they don't let you download stuff)
There's so much energy in this, its unbelievable! the bit at 1:00 where it jumps between headphones is great! makes me turn my head to follow the music without thinking! great mix, definitly a keeper!

OMG This is one of the best mixes EVER! This
mix is the reason i got into OCR.
I actually found this track by mistake. I was looking
on Media Guide (I know, what was i thinking?) for
"Sonic the hedgehog" as a joke (soz) and found this.
Best Mix Ever. Thank you S|r NutS, you got me into
OCRemixing.
Oh, and any day now, I'll be submitting my first Mix:
I won't tell you what it is, coz you'll nick the idea

Remember listening to this one back when it came out. Ultimately, I'd say it's a keeper. Excellent arrangement, good use of preset sounds. Why we love Mike.

This song is fantastic. I'm not sure how anyone can get annoyed by these sounds and then like half the overdone ReMix's out there; these sound great... the song honestly reminds me of the first time I saw a city at night as a kid. Flashing lights everywhere, cars shooting by, trucks veering down the road, and so much... stuff. This mix captures that overwhelming feeling while sounding sort of "clean"... the high-pitched sounds remind me less of a heavy underground and more of the shiny richness of a big city.
Although the "UH!" noises sound out of place : /.
Overall, the deliberate low beats and the perky, "look at that! And that!" mental camera panning of the high noises rocks and just feels like a Metropolis.

Definately sounds like someone went crazy with presets, but crazy in a good way. All the audio twists and tweaks give the sounds, and the melody itself, tremendous life. I really don't have a problem with the sample quality; I think this would be an entirely different mix if the samples were of the highest quality, which isn't exactly to say it would be better off.
I also liked the various panning ideas, although I couldn't help but catch a slew of timing errors. But they are only noticeable to me when I want to notice them.
Great use of energetic arrangement; something we don't see quite enough of here. This mix can be accused of lot of things, but failing to supply fun, energy and nostalgia is not one of them. I always have a great time listening to this.
Some fun and bouncy synth-pop work here, with a nicely developing beat, and some uber filtered leads.
Cool bassline, and for being an older track, it clicks pretty well.
The breakdown with the panning synth that stutters all over pretty much makes this mix. Very cool stuff.

:-D Knowing the very little about music genres that I do, I want to call this a funky trip hop piece. Regardless of what style it is, I really like it. Its upbeat and the pauses in the music make it seem faster for some reason.
