Wow.. just wow. Just when I thought nobody remembers the awesome Twinkle Circuit music from Sonic Adventure 1, Darkesword justs pops out of nowhere and makes an awesome remix of it!
I don't know why you think the overlapping sounds are such a big deal djpretzel, since the transition was relatively quick and the notes sounded sorta similar between the two different music pieces.
To me, this is probably the best remix I've ever heard in OCR yet. Not because it's technically the best or the most ambitious, but it's so easy to listen to thanks to its light hearted melodies! And it's a great take on one of an overlooked game music I love! Thank you Darkesword! you made my day!

ReMix - Nothing ground-breaking. Run-of-the-mill dance music. Try beefing up the drums and picking a better lead sound, and bring it out.
WriteUp - Can we have some more unnecessarily bit words please? kthx

Am I the only one who hears bits of "Quartet" in there? It's definitely in there.

SyZyGy, the song is Panic Puppet Zone from Sonic 3D Blast, Genesis Version. Sonic Team fortunately reused the track in Sonic Adventure for the Twinkle Park theme. They did the same thing with Green Grove Zone's music, which became Windy Valley's music.
I think it was a good decision on Sonic Team's part, as the Genesis soundtrack for S3DB was quite underrated. While I liked the Saturn soundtrack, I always felt that the Genesis one had better, stronger, and catchier melodies, particularly Rusty Ruins Zone and Diamond Dust Zone.
This is a Sonic Adventure mix though, because it's a mix of two tunes from the game: Twinkle Park and Twinkle Circuit (which itself is an arrangement of Sonic's theme music, "It Doesn't Matter").
Anyway, once I get back to school, where my mixing computer is, I'll use this thread to provide a semi-detailed writeup of the different sounds I used in this mix, as well as some notes on arrangement.

yes, if i remember correctly, Sonic Adventure took much music from other games...Twinkle Park being of the opening tune of Sonic 3d Blast, The Windy Valley level(atleast the end part) taken from the first level of S3dB, Casinopolis Nights taken from NiGHTS, and...thats all i can remember at the moment...

I love DarkeSword's style. I like just about everything he's done, this being no exception. I especially like the middle sequence beginning at 1:58, probably because it has the distinctive DS style. The synth-stringish lead at 0:37 sounded a little thick and kind of messy the first time through, but it's feeling better each time I replay it. The introductory percussion break pattern at 3:21 is cool. This song may replace Yatta as the song that makes me smile every time I listen to it. You = Winnar.

Totally love this remix. :) I'm a sucker for techno/trance, but man, this is terrific. I haven't played SA either and noticed it was similar to if not the same as the Panic Puppet Act 1 music on the Genesis S3DB. It makes me want to play Adventure really badly!

... SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!
This website is the ultimate arguement against athiesm. How else could such a site exist?
I've always felt I was onto something most people in america weren't, in realizing how good game music is, but before this site, I thought I was the only guy on earth who realized how much sonic music rocks. I swear, elsewhere it's ALL square RPGs.
.... But I digress something awfull. It woulda taken some doing to distort my favorite sonic tune into something bad, and all of that doing has been put into making the song better. :D

I must admit, this is one of my favorite Sonic tunes even not mixed. DarkeSword did an awesome job on this mix, and I could easily put this as my favorite mix on this site. I give my Platinum/5stars rating out to DarkeSword.

You don't see this every day! Sega's redoing of Panic Puppet Zone Act 1 has been redone yet again! Drum instruments, the beat, underlying elements, it all comes together for one big kick @$$ mix! I also loved the way they used Sonic's theme a bit in there. Now if we can just get mixes of the better levels...
Darke - Finally, someone who really knows the Sonic history pretty well. I wonder if we'll ever get a S2 Beta mix? Bwahaha.

I don't think a Sonic 2 Beta mix will ever surface, as all music in the beta was in the final version of Sonic 2, whether in a level or the soundtest; granted, there is a Sonic Crackers mix on this site, but that music was essentially from Knuckles' Chaotix.

When I first heard this remix, I couldn't help but but be taken aback by the nostalgia of it all, because let's face it, I know nostagia when I hear it. One can't help but remember back to the original Sonic games for the Sega Genesis. This is what music for Sonic the Hedgehog is supposed to sound like! I keep picturing Sonic running at super speed, going through those huge loops when I hear this remix. I guess it is the choice of instruments, the arrangement of the music, or simply that this guy knows exactly what he's doing. I believe the latter.
This... is a remix that I am proud to have in my collection of game remixes. Hats off to ya DarkeSword...

First of all, i have to thank my friend ElfLord36 for showing me this piece in the first place because he's then Big SonicThe HedgeHog fan and i never would have ventured to this stuff on my own. What he showed me turned out to be one of those pieces that you will remember until the day you die. But then I realized that my good friend DarkeSworde had done this mix....well, that completely took me by surprise. I tried embarresing him on AIM on how much i liked the piece, but well, that just didnt do it. So i decided to post my own review here. Here I go...*clears throat*
I LOVE THIS PIECE? This is how techno should be. It's a piece with sounds that you can't identify but you spend countless hours trying just so that you can say that you did. It's one of those pieces that raises your typing form 55 wpm to 70. (Personal thing, dont ask) It's a piece that triggers your brain and send the adrenaline rushing and gushing through your body and making it feel like there's a disco ball in your pancreas. If you don't have a pancreas then, im very sorry. This piece made me get up and start bouncing on my frends bed until his mom came up and yelled at me to stop because i was going to wake the baby! It's one of those pieces that you neve rwant to stop, and that the 5:01 second seem to go like 20 seconds. It's a piece that you want to loop for 100 tracks just so you can feel that vibe and it's one of those pieces that goes along with any situation. It's one of those pieces that makes you feel alive, and makes you realize that yea, good guys may finish last (completely random..sry bout that) but to hell with the bad guys! I think if every piece of music were as good as this then i'd be never going to school and jst listining until my batterys on my cd player went dead. Then I'd have to pop it into my computor until Comcast shut down my power because i was too entranced to pay the electric and wireless bill. It's a piece that...god im going to go on forever here! Ok, im really hungry now, and i wanna go eat, so thank god that i stopped where i did cuz i was just getting warmed up. Geez thats alot to swallow in one pose....defintely my longest lol. Well, DarkeSword you done good, and i am forever in your debt for your contribution to my musical experiences...whew im feeling so light headed...all...of..a..sudden..maybe....tylenol.... o god....*starts air conducting along with music and then falls out of chair...* KLUNK!

WOW! This remix is awsome! The first thing do when I get home from school is listen to it. I've even got NODSPAW adicted to it. Wish I could remix that good. Big Sonic fan myself, but that when ever I play it now I hear the remix playing instead of the regular song. Hope u come out w/ a new one soon!

He's in my L A class watching me post this....Your mom hates techno (how true) and she'll have to suffer from DarkeSwords merciless techno beats for all of eternity! hahahaa!

This is my favorite Sonic mix. There's so much to this song that it never gets boring. I also love how he chose to put Sonic's theme into the song, great choice. I love Sonic's theme in SA, so it's another reason to love this remix. Great work, one of my favorites.

I love how you have Twinkle Park and Twinkle Circuit both in the same song, and how you made them fit together so nicely. :) This is my favorite Sonic Adventure remix so far. Hopefully you put out a lot more

I posted something on the same topic in this thread before OCRemix redesigned, but it seems to have disappeared... Anyway, I too much preferred the soundtrack from the 16-bit version of Sonic 3D Blast/Flickies Island to that of the Saturn version; it was indeed catchier and, overall, more Sonic-like, for lack of a better description on my part. Good work.

Wow. Some people say this tune's original sounds were weak?
JUST WOW...
IMO, this tune was already perfect to begin with, and had lots of smoothly flowing notes. And the melody was one of the most memorable to me. Easily one of the best Sonic or a videogame melody to me.
But then again, this remix pushes the bar and extends on the original!
It doesn't quite re-think it, but just adds a bit and extends it a bit. In essence, simply remixing it.
And that's a great enough job for a great Sonic Adventure game tune!

Since DarkeSwrord has managed to produce many nice remixes over time, I thought it would be interesting to listen to this one as well. Bubble-gum trance would be a fitting name for this, this isn't something that you would get serious too on the dance floor, but it's quite enjoyful to listen to.
However, it was at 1:57 that my opinion changed in a very drastic manner. When that melody started......I just became .......engulfed if I might say in that cute and cuddly bell synth that played one of the most hypnotizing melodies I've heard in a while.
Sadly, that moment was over quickly and the remix continued with its previous concept, but the melody appeared for a short while in the end too. But to sum it all up, this remix really really good. The trance layout isn't bad, everything works smoothly, so I'm content.
Nice job.

I'm a few years late on this one but that doesn't take away from how bad ass this mix is. Stumbled onto it in my archive and I've been enjoying it for a couple weeks, so I felt obligated to get in here and throw up a review on it.
It's fantastic. Great work DS.
Nice synths starting out- i love that analog gliding sound. :-D
Trancey synths are ok but not awesome, but the little bell chime is beautiful and fits perfectly. Beats are a bit generic but keep the track sufficiently propelled without being too heavy, and there is a decent amount of progression. Everything is nice and cheerful and speedy, like a good Sonic track should be. Nice work, Darkesword. :-D
This was the very first DarkeSword track I heard, and I think it might have been among the first 5 OC ReMix's I had ever heard. I actually remember the exact moment; I was abusing my high school's T1 connection back in 2003, as I didn't have broadband at the time, trying to download as much stuff as I could. I noticed this track when I was looking through a list of Sonic mixes and my eyes lit up, because I have loved the source ever since hearing it in 3D Blast.
This track still holds up to the test of time imo. It's got a well-rounded sound to it. Very upbeat; I'm glad that aspect of the source was kept intact, though I can't really imagine a take on Twinkle Park without that. I still dance a bit every time it comes up when I shuffle my OCR folder. Excellent stuff.
