If anyone's interested in the reason resource file I've posted some info in this thread:

http://remix.overclocked.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16841

It will work in Reason 2.0 and 2.5..

BTW, this is supposed to sound like mid-90's eurodance in case anyone couldn't figure that out from the filename..

Pretty cool stuff. Everything is done quite well and is skillfully put together. Diggin it. Maybe a bit more variety in synth tones would have been cool, but its a very sweet mix. Nice.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't hear Green Hill zone at all. It's okay I guess. Prolly won't be listening to for much longer. Don't really like it.

Wow, I like this. There are enough liberties taken with it to keep it interesting, but the theme is still there. That and I like both techno and Sonic so I think I'll keep this one.

After hearing this song time and time again I never imagined this being a song like this. I like it coo :)

Oh man, I was starting a remix of this song a little while ago and had a very similar idea, but I doubt it would have turned out as good as this, very VERY nice

5 stars! Very good mix!

15 seconds into this thing I was dancing around my room. Stylistically flawless as far as I can hear... it doesn't try to do too much, just feels the beat, throws the melody out there, and twirls a little on the side. I especially like the effect near the end with the ring-collection sound! =P Djpretzel says it's just long enough... nah, I don't think so. I'd like to hear a longer version of this track where it REALLY gets into a trance groove. I find that no matter how good the track is, it still takes a while to pull you all the way in.

I especially like all the funky sound effects near the end, also...
Very cool. Melody has enough variety for me.

Reeeally nice, but I'm liking this track just because its plain good stuff regardless of the Green Hill tune in it, more like it just gives the tune a point to be here. Green Hill Zone didn't excite me much anyway (other than its oldschool appeal), but this is a sweet and unexpected way of hearing it. (Now that Vectorman mix I lurved...)

While it was stereotypical, predictable and all the other things dance music seems to naturally possess, I still thought it was good. Especially when the ring noise appears at the end.

Sweetness, this is definitely a favorite o' mine. I didn't really like the green hill zone music much, but this makes it sound friggen awesome. Great job!

Now, if Sega would have done Time Traveling in Sonic 1, this woulda definitely fit in it, my guess as kind of a "Bad Future" type thing? I first thought it kind of went with something to do with Eggman. Anyway, I can't describe most stuff, except for the kickin' beat that just pulls you into the groove. That, and around 02:33 I can tell that variations are starting to be used of the original ring sound (Nice! 200-*shot*) So, you will definitely like this, for the most part. I command you to, for I have the almighty pie! ...Well you don't have to look like that!

Overall: Damn good. Going on my next CD!

I COULD LISTEN TO THIS FOR HOURS UPON END <----- my quote.. quote me on that..

I quoted you, so there.

On a totally different note, I could swear I know Jonodude from somewhere else.

This song is amazing. I've listened to it as it was built in the WIP Forum. Throughout its time there, I knew it was going to be a very standout piece. I could have never known how right I was going to be. This is certainly my favorite in the long line of awesome Sonic remixes. I usually dont love the Sonic remixes, but the last few have been really good, and this one tops all of them. I rank this up there with Devil's Mask, the best Ninja Gaiden remix ever. Thank you Rayza, this is remixing perfection.

Well, to be truthful I wasn't really a big fan of techno and I'm still not. At first I thought this song would be repetitive over and over again like any song but it mixes it up once in a while and some stuff of it is good but still its not to my taste but hey! If you like it and want to d/l it fine with me. Its just my opinion on techno mixes. This song ain't so bad

I just gotta say its about time there was a "Green Hill" remix.
Especially in a techno funk-ish style.Rayza you've definitely done an awesome job with this timeless track.

It's about time!

I like this track... It seems like there's a lot of original stuff mixed in that wasn't part of the theme, but I definitley recognize the theme in there.

First off, I'd like to congratulate Rayza on this great mix. It's about time there was a Green Hill mix on this site.

Secondly, I've really never been a fan of actual eurodance/trance music. This track, however, strays a bit, in using the Green Hill melody QUITE well (and with a key change ^_^), and the background whistly synth is kind of neat as well. The best part is the end, where the ring sound is used as harmonies.

Overall, this is a great mix that shouldn't be passed up by fans of techno/trance/eurodance, or fans of Sonic music in particular. Great stuff, Rayza. 9 out of 10. Good stuff.

I agree. spot on bit of remixing. somewhere between culture beat and sash, eurodancey with trance stylings. I love the drop at 1.45, it lets you stop dancing and just hold your hands in the air and smile at a mate...

And how could people not hear the sonic theme in there? ITS THERE! JUST THERE! (points)

Eoroclub95 as a title sort of undersells it tho, the word fusion should be in there somewhere. Maybe even Ibiza.

10/10.

I... love... this... mix!!

I remember the tune distinctly, since it was also in the GameGear version of the game (which is the only one I have), but I never imagined it being remixed like this. This is one of my favorite styles of music, and this remix is one of the best tracks in this style that I've ever heard...

Amazing work... never thought Sonic could be remixed into trance music... looks like I've been proven wrong.

My only complaint is that the ending seems a bit abrupt and strange, other than that, it's just about flawless ^_^

Well to be fair it's not trance. Its eurodance, but thanks for the comments.. :)

This song was definitely a great one to listen to. The build ups and emotion were well conveyed through the song. The background was so erie, and yet so appealing.
The lyrical aspects of the song that appeared seemed a bit unneceassary, though.
This is a great song though, and is definitely worth the download time to hear it.

88%. Great Job!

I can't really find anything that would define this as a "eurodance", but for some odd reason it still fits the title perfectly...

As for the mix itself, it's really nice. Not too repititious, and other than a nicely placed break around 1:25, it doesn't go up or down hardly any. Good stuff.

90%.

Scatman John, Maxx, Haddaway and Eiffel65 all rolled into one with a bit of Sonic flavouring in there. This definitely exceeded my expectations. You can just imagine DJ Bobo MC'ing occasionally in this beauty. It's like a perfect mix of all the elements that made the 90's so great, yet it doesn't sound dated at all. The gated choir chords are subtle but satisfying, and the varied saw wave riffs and melodies take you right back. Even the newly written chord sequence is so European that it's scary. This song reminded me of how pleased I am that I live in England. Big up yourself, Rayza, I won't forget this one. 5/5.

An excellent offering -- the styling made me nostalgic for the mid-90's club scene of Snap and Amber and (as the poster before said) Haddaway. A particularly unique piece of work -- merited for its creative and droll handling of an old tune.

This seems to be you at your absolute best! A labour of an incredibly deep love. And I LOVE IT!!!
This remix is absolutely brilliant!!! The re-interpretation of the melody is fantastic- not straying to far, yet at the same time, feeling like a natural progression into what could be a called a 'second verse' (for lack of a better desc. You know, when the singer starts the second verse, but the melody they are singing changes to build it up a bit.) I especially love the distant hi-synth line at 2:05, which soungs VERY SEGA of Japan-y to me (I'm a sucker for anything even REMOTELY 'SEGA of Japan'!!!). Also, the sub melody you have going on at 2:33, in which you use what sounds like the 'Sonic-Picks-Up-Rings' sound effect from the game; turning it into an instrument.

Incredibly clever.

The Euroclub sound is great- I'm definetely digging it.
Actually, I've played the song in the background while I was running the game emulation, and you'd be amazed how much faster Sonic seems to feel!!!
Great work mate- you've done the song, and composer proud. Hope to hear you on Avex one day...

Much has already been said. This is an excellent remix, bar none. Cool new take on the chord progression, effective, non-annoying samples; awesome sub-melody around 2:10, expansion of the main melody. Takes an easily cliched genre and inserts new life. As has been mentioned, the "rings" noise sample is above and beyond the call of duty. Kudos. 10/10

I've been going back to review my favorite songs lately, and this thread came up. yay.

A classic in my ears, and a must have for all sonic game and music fans alike. Seemlessly smooth euro mix with a creative use of the Ring SFX in the song. MY only gripe is the ending, but I've listened to it so many times, it is just natural. so i guess no prob than

Excellent. Ex-cel-lent!

I love this song. I'd in fact say it's the best Sonic remix I heard yet. I like everything from the beat to the sound effects and the thrown-in voices. I prefer this remix when concentrating hard on programming issues or just to relax..

Rating: 9 out of 10 (it's just too short ^^)

btw: My favorite parts are: 0:50, 1:07, 2:02, 2:33-2:50

Masterpiece. I _have_ to say it again, this remix is just awesome! Truly, the only negative point is that it's "only" 3:09 long - thus I need to listen to it twice or more each time :-)

Gotta love you for that one, Rayza ^^;

Love love love this remix. I usually hate remixes that sound almost nothing like the originals, but this is at least in my top three favorites on the site. The ring sound effects are a great touch.

I was thinking more along the lines of clubmix than eurodance when I title and later on heard this remix. Although I live in Europe, I certainly don't know about this. What I do know is that this is good trance.

It has speed, good selection of beats and samples, and as DJP mentioned, variation through the whole arrangement so that it doesn't get too boring. I liked it when everything calmed down and the started over again at 1:24, and since most of the synths I hear can be tracked to some good trance hits I know about, then this is a fine example of what the 90's brought forth in its melodic inspiration.

But to sum it up, I think I'll just quote this guy:

I COULD LISTEN TO THIS FOR HOURS UPON END

It's true y'know.

This is the kind of song that will get you your techno trance fix, well a quick one. This is one of those tracks that you could play in your car with someone who dosent like games but likes trance and they would be suprised to hear that it came from a game.

This is lovely! I havn't heard any other Green Hill remixes and I don't know why! Its one of my favorite sonic tracks and I really would love to here more variations. I like this one alot. Pumps me up.

I don't know why the judges here always like these things short. Impatient and so hard to please! I like my mixes to be loooong so I can be in a trance listening to it for a good 6 minutes to an hour even. Good music is my high.

Well, this is the only remix of Green Hill? I'm surprised that's it!

It's cool, being a techno beat and all. It kind of has a progression similar to Da Rude's Sandstorm...

does anyone remember the mortal kombat movie music... uknow the rave track, oh sorry , u guys call it techno................ ok so u got that in ur head............k, keep it there.... ..now liten to this remix again.............cool huh.

anyway its an ok remix. i mean the whole trance thing works really well.
but when the actuall melody comes in it kinda ruins it for me.
dont get me wrong i love the green hills music.
but not in this track. its a bit too cheesy quaver.:<

I really don't care for it. Sega Genesis was the first console I owned, and Sonic and Road Rash were the only games I had for it for quite a long time. I think this track could totally be done as a hard rock/grunge track, with a wailing guitar covering the melody. I suppose it would be good if you like the genre. Personally, I hate trance/techno/club music. I'd much rather hear something that sounds like music, not a fork in a blender.

Aah, back to my usual habit of commenting on things 3+ years after they're posted. Anyway.

Awesome mix, and although you kinda crushed the opening, which was my favourite part of Green Hill, the use of the "ring get" sound was awesome!

A really great Green Hill mix that has helped inspire me to remix the song myself. Good backing synths, some nice counter melodies and main melody variations, and a cool pitch-shifted ring sound section all leads up to good times with Sonic and the gang!
