First of all, there's no need for this mix to be 7 mins, it just gets really repetitve near the end of the mix.

Most of the piece is very empty, very sparse sounding. There are also major, major off-key issues. I'm confused because there are parts where the bassline so does not fit with the rest of the tune (from 4.20 for example) and then you have other parts where everything sounds fine (from 5.16 for example).

Now I've never really played Wave Race 64 so I'm not familiar with the music, could a large part of this be a midi rip perhaps? Anyway,

There is an extreme amount of repitition here. The song follows the original quite closely. The drums are limiting. There are some strong off key issues.

I would work on drums as well as the melodic aspects. Gotta watch those Keys.

this takes WAY too long to get started. the first two minutes or so are just beach noise and a lonely melody. the bassline during the first transition is off-key. the harmony is very basic, there isnt a whole lot going on at any given point in the mix.

i'm bored 4 minutes in. there's more questionable harmony all thru the song. there really is just not enough development.

5:04 the chime line is in the wrong key, and it just sounds wierd.

6 minutes in and i'm REALLY bored. this song never escalates.

The bass is too loud and some its notes don't seem to fit.
