So... today is a pretty good day. I got a midi the other day and have been working on its sound. We consider it pretty much finished, just needs Usa's approval.

I also got a supposedly finished track in my pm inbox. That makes two finished tracks, pending final crits and nitpick fixes and stuff. It's almost as if the project is actually moving forward!

I think all sources, including those bonus sources I added to it, are claimed now. I don't see any tracks marked as red, so either I screwed up the tracklist or we've gotten some cool ppl on board.

However, I wanna see something done about those black, orange, and cyan tracks. I like the purple and green, and especially blue. More of those plz.

By the next deadline, I'll redo the colors scheme to make it really obvious which tracks aren't done. We could be done by summer (and the album could be out as soon* as 2015), guys and gals, keep up the good work. :D

It's the 16th in my time zone. This means there's about 24+12 hours until I clean up the tracklist. If I haven't heard an updated track from you this year, you're definitely off the tracklist until I do. (and then you're back on)

It's so we can use just one color for available tracks and not confuse anyone wanting a track you're sitting on. I don't mind doubles of any source, but I do mind way too long delays. While I'm terrible at contacting y'all and reminding you, we have an assistant director who's a lot better at that. But even if we haven't contacted you (you should give us an email address to reach you by, it makes stuff A LOT easier for us), we love you and want your track.

When your track is done, there's three more things we want from you:
- some comments on the track, the source, the process of making it
- your bio, formal or informal, not too long
- your ok to use the track, link to the consent form coming later

The last part is the most important, but the other two are great to have. Your profile will look silly without them. As for your tracks' comments, I can just make stuff up. ;)

I don't know why mine, Ergo's and Theophany's collab is still marked purple; unless you think it needs a major overhaul (which I won't be able to provide right now due to a faulty computer) the last thing I sent you was about 90-95% done :\ Hope there's no miscommunication, but I've taken the song about as far as I can on my own. Theophany's got the song and needs to give it a final mix, but if there needs to be drastic changes to the track itself, I'd like to hear about it :-) Other than that, you should mark our track as green :-P

UPDATE! PROGRESS! FINALLY!

I've removed a color (and there are no red tracks, either). The tracklist should now be a lot easier to approach to see what's available and what isn't. We want those orange tracks remixed, and we don't care who does them as long as they're good. Veterans, work faster, gimme progress. Newcomers, work, gimme progress. Progress, ppl! :D

We also have a consent form thing that you guys _need to fill out_ if you want your track(s) on the album. This, along with 4 other things we want from you, is a bit down in the first post.

Most of our tracks were completed before I even saw this thing, so I don't expect you all to know about it.

In other words: new thing, sign, or else... ;)

In a worst-case scenario, we are able to combine the results of the form with any other consent statements you get via other means. It is just much much WAY much easier if everyone signs the new thing, since the table it goes into is sortable and can be easily checked against a project's roster for consistency.

No. Subbing to OCR is fine as long as you make sure that it says in your submission e-mail that this is for the SD3 project. They'll hold the mix until the release of the project.

I haven't really done to much more to my track.

It's basically the same, however, I'm thinking about having a friend (Anielca22) add some of her awesome singing skillz. I would like to see if that would be ok, and also, if it is ok, we may need help with EQing and whatnot. I've never done this kind of thing before.

In any case, you've now gotten some feedback on those tracks.

I won't be able to do much project- or even internet-related the next two weeks, but I'll still be able to get online on my phone. If you need to reach me, the best way (besides joining me in the Finnish archipelago) is by email, to my gmail address, which you have if you've given me your in the past two years or so. Facebook PMs is another option. Hotmail and ocr PMs aren't as convenient to check from an old iphone, so I probably won't check those as often. And don't expect to see me on AIM, except around the weekend. Maybe.

Good afternoon everyone - You might remember me as Meteo Xavier. My account is re-activated largely for the purpose of working here on SD3.

As you know, I'm #2 man on this project now, and that means when Rozovian is on vacation or busy or dead as he seems to be more and more these days, I'm the man you want to talk to for your SD3 project needs. Biases of the past need not apply, my primary goal is kicking ass on this project and getting progress made for the album and for you.

Awesomeness, welcome back. :D if you really need to know, you should perhaps consider another track, cuz we're not sure. Last year's playthrough was interrupted by my hard drive crash, and I haven't heard it yet in the more recent one. I'd assume it's at some point... when they're leaving the Mana Holyland... maybe? :) Could be ending/credits/epilogue, considering its placement on the rsn, but as it wasn't on the OSV seikens didn't have any info.

Anyone know for sure?

I did some compositions back in university, and I'm interested in getting back into the scene. As a huge fan of the Seiken Densetsu games, how can I get involved in this project? I see that 305 - Weird Counterpoint is not yet taken...

Weird Counterpoint does have a WIP on it already but apparently Rozo didn't update to include that. Hard for me to judge since there are project people I haven't gotten back to yet because I can't ever find time for it (I'm at work right now as an example).

I think youtube has made it easier for folks... Find a gameplay footage on youtube that has their licensing set to allow their video to be remixed or reused, and nab it from that. But honestly, it shouldn't matter... I think Jose used Youtube footage for the Teen Agent trailer for OCR... I think there'd only be a problem if you tried to profit off of it but that's not even worth mentioning because I know you aren't. So. *shrug*. I've seen some good SD3 footage on Youtube, go for it!

Let's put his back up in the purple because, as far as I'm concerned, the arrangement is pretty killer as is at the moment though he wants to do some more with it. It just needs more mixing and some attention to the samples, but it's a purple as far as I'm concerned.

We should have more progress there in a couple weeks or so.

I'm not Rozo, but I think you should do what you feel is right as the musician. If you think it does not need any more work, then finished it is; if you think it could use more work, well... it's not like the entire album is waiting on you. You have time (just not forever). There are some tracks that haven't been finished, some that haven't even been claimed; plus I need to do the arts. >o>

I've just been adding sound design elements and mixing. Rozo had some concerns about source usage before so that's more what I was asking about in terms of being cool with the arrangement; I can go further with the sound design if Rozo likes the way it's sounding, or it can be scaled back if he doesn't. I didn't mean to sound like my arrangement was rushed or unfinished; I still have some final touches I want to put on, for sure, but Meteo asked me to render out a wav in the meantime just to lock the track in (because my source was in jeopardy of getting opened up to someone else). Like you were saying there's still time, so I can update the wav a little closer to eval if I don't get to everything this week (which Meteo was saying too). Still... Emu's DK3 album is currently in eval, so I'm trying to at least lock in my sd3 track before I finish up my DK3 tunes.

To put a better clarification on what Theo's talking about, I talked with him privately and listened to his version of The Sacrifice Part II - thought the arrangement was fine as is.

The source track itself is so weird, in my opinion, that it's almost impossible for me or us to judge it as anything other than a kick-ass somewhat novelty track (hell, thats all the source IS), instead of trying to see where it fits in the album or as a postable Ocremix. It's just a weird track that requires some creativity to balance what can WORK and what is POTENTIAL.

So I figured we'd get one of both. I asked him to send me a better mixed version of what he has now, and said if he wanted to continue on with it as his time and energy permits, he could do that too and sub it out. Either way, we end up with a track that works in general.

I just wanted to clarify that in case there was confusion. I'm very f'n tired of tracks on here not being complete when they're so damn close it hurts, so it's time to get creative and get more finished tracks in.

You probably just have too many instruments. If mixing doesn't help, then it's the arrangement you need to fix. Sometimes you have to cut back and trust that it's going to achieve the sound you're going for (especially if you're working in a frustrated self-critical mode which is highly detrimental to confidence and, eventually, the song itself).

Archangel, utilize your stereo field and EQ. If the project is too intense to run then export the wavs of your individual instrument tracks and mix them in a different project--or just work on mixing the crowded section in its own file with wavs. You can pan and EQ instruments to come through clearly while not being in the same sonic space or frequency range. EQ and panning don't have to be static. Engineer/automate that specific section and make it work. I'm no mixing pro, but that's my advice.

Remixers, I'm planning a hard deadline on the last day of February (29th iirc, I'll check later). A day when big promises are void, long-time claims are lost, and almost finished tracks are opened. I call it an "angry" deadline. :D it basically turns the project into a free-for-all regarding tracks that have been started before the new year. So finish your tracks. Cuz I want to finish the project.

On a less threatening note, Meteo got me the updated consent list, so now I have a greater variety of tracks to choose from for the previews... which I know I've been promising for quite a while now. I have the art selected, just gotta pick the tracks I wanna show. One remixer has requested he not be part of any preview, anyone else have a problem being included? On a related happy note, I got over whatever mixer's block has been keeping me from making progress with my almost completed collab with Mozzaratti. It is now a few nitpicks away from complete. That's pretty close. When that's done, nobody on this project can use the excuse "but Rozo hasn't done a track yet". And then I'll also sign the consent form - which all remixers on the project better sign, asap.

As for the insider preview, I have everything I need for it, the art, the music, I just... can't decide what tracks i wanna share with you remixers whose emails I have. But now that you know I have it all, it can't be long... right?

I hadn't listened to it in so long, I forgot how good it is... I've known I have needed to do a final spitshine to it but for some reason I thought it was a lot rougher than it actually is. It's actually purty good and I think I could fix it up right nice with the experience I got nows. I should definitely be able to get it to you within the month, and we can go from there for whatever. Just letting you know I'm gonna be good for it and not to cut it.
