Rozo says: NEW FORUM! Go there! (http://kngi.org/forum/)

Tracklist updated. If I, for any reason, placed your track in the list of available tracks and you're still/are going back to work on it - lemme know asap. My notes are a mess, as always, so I may have mislabeled a source as open.

Missing from the list of open tracks is a batch of tracks we're unsure of. Need to talk to some ppl before I can safely free them.

The following are tracks free to take. Some may be taken by remixers already, if so, they're here because we feel they should be represented by more than one remix; in some cases it is because the remixer was dissatisfied with it but is unable or unwilling to revise it. Some tracks may also be in use in multi-source remixes, and will then be included here if we feel their usage in those remixes isn't enough. If you see a track you want to remix for the project PM/IM/email me.

1-03 Ordinary People
1-06 Axe Bring Storm
1-08 Witchmakers
1-18 Don't Hunt the Fairy (I have an old ugly wip if anyone wants a half-done arrangement to draw from)
2-06 Intolerance
2-07 Different Road
2-19 Obsession
3-07 Black Soup
3-10 Electric Talk
3-14 The Sacrifice pt II
3-20 Long Goodbye

We hope all remixers will be able to finish their tracks.

If you had a track claimed and it is now open, let me know you're still working on it (and will finish it) and you've reclaimed it as yours.

Hello together ^^

We proudly present you a remix project that covers the soundtrack of the famous SNES action RPG, "Seiken Densetsu 3", aka "Secret of Mana 2".

With a plan to enhance, extend, and elaborate on the music in the game, Songs of Light and Darkness is meant to be in keeping with the general tone of the original soundtrack, but updated to modern standards and with the personal touch of fans of the game, its music, and game music in general. We ask that the remixers remain true to the feel of their source track, but take it far beyond the limitations of in-game arrangements and the SNES' sound quality and music capabilities.

That means no glitchy, chippy, trancey, synthy stuff. We want stuff in the direction of orchestral/rock/jazz/folk/world music, and whatever else that isn't electronica. Synth soundscapes, synth rock, electronic-y jazz and stuff like that... well we want to hear it first. Also remixers, try to use as much of the source as possible. Judges like that, we like that, and you ought to like that. :D

The scope of the Seiken Densetsu 3 remix project is enormous, as it's a 60-track OST that we'd like fully remixed (but probably won't). The project has no release date set atm. With the current activity and the project release queue, a release before summer 2010 is unlikely. Unless y'all get to work on it now. :D

Project staff:
Usa, main coordinator and project director
Rozovian, co-coordinator

We now have a new forum at KNGI (http://kngi.org/forum/). Log in/register, and post where you're supposed to say you're supposed to be there if you're supposed to be there. Expect a full tracklist to be posted there, along with info on... stuff.

Download the SPC-format soundtrack (http://solad.thasauce.net/solad-spc.rar). We use the official soundtrack names as opposed to common spc-archives. Right-click and save target as. Note that the name and number of tracks on our tracklists corresponds to their name and number on the OST cds, not the SPC archives available on zophar.net and other sites.

current deadline: individual (get your own today!!)

If we haven't heard from you in a while, get in touch. The project's still running, so we want your tracks. If you haven't got an update to show us, at least let us know you haven't forgotten about us. And should you have forgotten about us and now remember - let us know you weren't just ignoring us. :D

Remixers, please PM/IM/email Usa or myself asap and let us know your thoughts about and behind your remixes, stuff like that. What are you illustrating with this remix, an event, an emotional setting, a location, a character...? What you thought of the source track, something like that. That goes for everyone who's got a track in the project. We need it for the website.

We also need some information about you, the remixer. A brief bio, formal or informal. This will also be used on the project website.

ALSO, make sure you've sent us a WAV of your finished track(s).

We want:
-your track as a wav, aif, or other high-quality format
-info about you (see above)
-info about the track (see above)

-signature banners-

Sig banners for the remixers. Right-click and copy the url to the image, then insert that within IMG tags. If you link them anywhere, link them to this thread, not to the project forum.

http://solad.thasauce.net/images/banner1.jpg http://solad.thasauce.net/images/banner2.jpg http://solad.thasauce.net/images/banner3.jpg

-last notes-

Help us complete this old little project.
We're _still_ recruiting remixers.
We are among the oldest still running ocr remix projects.
Don't spread your in-project tracks to ppl outside the project. #OCRWIP is okay if it's not too crowded, OCR WIP board is not.
Usa's is on vacation, be back early August. I'm not on vacation, gimme your tracks!
Let us know how you're doing, how your tracks are going.

I'm glad to see I'm in the blue.

Also, there's a track missing. 1-19: Legend. Fable is 1-20.

Also, also, I talked with Jeremy Robson - he has a ReMix of "Ordinary People" posted - and he said that if anyone wants to play it, he's willing to contribute a piano reduction of his mix.

I might do another track

I can't really work on Damn Damn Drum anymore, unless you want me to redo the whole thing from scratch [I never really like doing this], so the status on that one is up to you. I'm OK with the quality I guess, and I can just release it if you don't want it :3

Seems like I can post to thread again. Yay!

Anyway, we've shortened the first post. The full tracklist is gonna stay secret for now, hidden in our private forum. Which, btw, is moved. Check the first post.

01-19-2008, 10:15 PM
In case someone didn't notice - our forum is back up, and we'd like everyone to post their wips again so we know who's still alive and awake and aboard and so on.

Speaking of which, me and Usa, we want to hear your wips so we know where you're headed and can tell you if we want something like that in the project or not. it's better to do that before you've done two-three minutes of material, so show us your pre-wips!

For other info, read the first post.

Rozovian
01-30-2008, 11:22 AM
Bump, we're recruiting. And if you're already in the project, we want to hear what you've done so far.

For anyone considering joining, Usa said he's got great software instruments (aka samples with settings), so all you need to know is how to arrange, and we (he) can fix the rest.

I never post in the forums. Let me say that much right now.

That being said...

PLEASE do an awesome job on this remix project! And...PLEASE PLEASE don't forget my all time favorite from SD3: Meridian Child!

Rozovian
02-12-2008, 09:15 PM
Argh! I know I asked about it ages ago, but I can't find it in my msn chatlogs. Usa's absence is partially attributed to the bad kind of illness, partially to school and work occupying loads of his time. I know a thing or two about photography, so I know it's loads of work.

I'll ask when I get a hold of him. I gotta talk to him anyway about what we think of Jago's cool WiP.

just cause the songs i have worked on so far have a certain feel to them; doesn't mean i am restricted to any specific genre. what kind of genre are you going for. if you are not accepting electronic subs im sorry but i don't have the resources to make anything sound super realistic. i have made lots of songs varying from rock to trance so i am flexible. just tell me what you are going for on this project and i will try to produce something great.

Rozovian
04-04-2008, 10:14 AM
We're not banning electronica, we just want the project to feel more like the OST. Related genres, similar sound. If you can write good MIDI for any of these tracks (albeit with limited samples), Usa can render them with better sounding instruments and hand them right back to you for mix.

Rock, solo piano, jazz, orchestral, ethnic/world, metal, country (maybe)...
Trance, dance, techno, DnB...
Unles you're colorblind, that should get you the general idea of the preferred genres, tho you might get some idea from listening to the OST too (see first post).

Write some good MIDI and you're in. :P

Just to tell everyone in the project, Decision Bell is up and ready for critiquing in the WIP forums. Hope you enjoy it! =p

I was hoping I could get DrumUltimA on that one, or work on it myself, but sure, go ahead. I'm not at my own computer atm, so I can't check my notes, but I recall it not being taken. Now it is, and it's yours.

Consider the possibility of collaborating on it, I have a few ideas for it that I'll send to you once I get around to writing them down in midi.

Alright Raven WIP is up on the boards as well. Thanks to usa and roz for the critiquing on my eqing on the Decision Bell one. I have to admit I did go a little overboard. It was just too refreshing to hear a clear sound after sticking with the muddied version for such a long time =p

Okay, minor update. We've made some structural changes to how we're gonna complete the project, tho nothing's set in stone yet, we'll post a bigger update about that later.

I'm just gonna say that now that we're finally managed to block out the spambots, we can start focusing on actual members. I know Blue Nocturne recently joined, but if there is anyone else whose project forum account haven't been activated, let me know. I have to find you among 300 spambots, so let me know when you joined and what you name is so I can find the activation mail.

The Joker

So, apprarently I'm a spambot! Why, you might ask, well, silly rabbit, I didn't pass the spambot challenge on the forums!

But, yeah, I don't remember my old login (if it's still even viable), so i decided to make a new account, & got rejected* by the spam detecter. So, yeah, I've strated working on a new version of my track on the count that my 360 is in for repairs & I have some free time open now. So, any help would be awesomes!

Nah man, we're trying to go for a less synthetic sound. The strings in there could fit nicely onto the project, but the noise and many synths don't quite fit. It's great, tho.

That's pretty slick. If you wanna keep working on it and try and get it into the project, I honestly think you could just change the instruments and leave most of the notes alone minus a few tweeks. I'm hearing acoustic percussion of some sort like hand drums or a rock or brush kit... some B3 organ action for that bouncy backing synth... electric bass or an upright... maybe a piano in there somewhere... and of course leave the strings as they are.

Not that I don't like the electronic version. I've listened to it, like, 12 times already. It's just that I think if you can't get it accepted as a single track, you should try and make it work for something else. Even if the final product sounds a lot different than the original, I don't think it would be much of a stretch to make it fit in with the SD3 project. You're really onto something with this one, and I'd hate to see it stranded in someone's "finished songs" folder. It has an awesome groove that really works no matter what the genre is.

Even if you don't wanna change that dramatically from the original idea, keep trying to make it fit somewhere it'll get the recognition it deserves. I haven't heard a song with a groove that tasty in a while.

I want to add my WIP for POSITIVE.

Radiate Me - A Brief Dream of Victory.

I realize the intent of this album is to expand on the original source and keep it close to Kikuta's vision. Well, there's only so much source in this song that can be done in a triumphant stab that Kikuta himself did not already do, and it wasn't working out until I tried it in a very ambient, dreamlike and then later acoustic drum and string heavy fashion before making it dreamlike again.

This was inspired by a Tangerine Dream song I have and by other works from Kikuta himself - particularly "Close Your Eyelids", "Farewell song", "Vivid" and bits of Secret of Mana+. He loved to play with song structure, so I do that here and keep it sounding like Seiken Densetsu - F major with ambience and a Vibe lead. I wanted to make it seem like a dream, with the ambient part symbolizing sleep, the dream of victory (leading up to the acoustic bits), the sudden wake up (2:00) and then falling back to sleep (outro).

I hope this is acceptable. Thank you.

Get rid of the link. This isn't a thread for wips, we've got a dysfunctional forum for that.

I do like what you've done with this, but I gotta check with Usa before I can safely say it's in. I think it is, tho.

It needs a bit of work cleaning up the sound, there's a lot of piercing frequencies during the first minute, and there's a bunch of clicks and other issues we gotta deal with, but hey, I'm impressed. The arrangement is more than I expected from this track.

So get rid of the link. I think you're in. :D

This is just a gentle reminder for you people to get your tracks done. And, there's still available tracks, for anyone interested. Our release probably won't be until the other projects in queue are released, so there's time... But not much.

I'm starting to agree with whoever said the projects forum is where projects go to die.

Jago
11-15-2008, 08:37 PM
Am I in a hurry to get my track in? I remember you saying that I wasn't part of the first release, but if you need my track, let me know. I'm in the process of (FINALLY!) completing my deployment in Iraq, but I've had to ship some stuff back early, including my MIDI controller. If necessary, I'll use the piano roll, though that won't be much fun.

Rozovian

Depending on when the other projects are released and we can have our first release, we might be able to release more than one disc in that release. Work on it when you get back.

Just takin' the new sd3 info sig for a test drive around the thread. Gotta make it prettier, but it serves the purpose of being a big, black attractive blot on the page, that hopefully will trigger some activity among the project remixers. We now have something of a deadline. Show me you've got something, or the track goes free around xmas.

I'm hoping to update the tracklist long before then. And of course after. At least you see a few tracks we're interested in covering atm.

Also, the stuff about tracks scheduled for release #1. Forget that. We'll take anything you've got, so if you've got a wip, show me. We don't have a fixed release date yet, but we'd like to start marking tracks as finished, and we've scrapped the planned release tracklist we had before.

There's also a new track wip on our somewhat defunct project forum. Go have a look, if you've got access.

As for the pic, yeah. I just realized/remembered that macs have a lighter gamma value, so it's gotta be pretty dark for the rest of you. I'll see what color changes I can come up with. Might have to copy OA's white bg style, even.

Bmup.

First post as well as info image updated. We're still recruiting, and with a few remixers having dropped tracks, we've got a few new interesting ones available.

I've PMd a bunch of you, but if I managed to forget something or someone... uh, ask? I know I've got messy notes, I managed to omit a track claimed by Junkmonkey. That's why you should let me your your progress, so I don't have to rely on my notes. :P :D

Also, read the first post if you're on the project. Seriously. It's been updated. Lots of info you should have read before, and a little new info as well.

Examples:
Info you should know from before: You're not done until we have a good wav of your track.
Info you should have read before: We now have deadlines. Current deadline is 20th, a progress report.
Info you couldn't have read before: We also want a short bio to use on the website.

It's been what, like, a year since I joined the project, and we're still making progress at our usual rate? Some would call that a successful transition. :D Not me. I want more progress!!

I'm actually seeing more activity than I expected. Sadly, it's still not much. ppl, you wanted in, you're in, so get them tracks done!

In other news, I'm gonna be a pretty busy the upcoming few months, and Usa probably won't have much more spare time on this side of new year's than he had on the other. Still, the project is rolling on, we've got a few new remixers, a few tracks taken. First page will be updated... soon-ish. So will my sig image progress... news... ad... thingy.

We're hoping to release in late spring, tho I suspect that's a bit optimistic. Still, with the activity we _are_ seeing, it's not impossible.

For ppl too lazy to read all the above: If you're in the project, get your track done and send us the track or a link to it asap.

Hopefully I'll send you an update this coming weekend. I've had some serious shit happen at work that it's tied me down. Let's just say that my supervisor had an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate, a big no-no in the military. Thanks to that issue, I assumed the supervisory position, and it's kicking my ass right now. Yeah, I'm not happy at the supervisor either, for this was a huge surprise and not in a good way.

Rozovian
01-26-2009, 10:52 PM
The great thing about "asap" is that if it's so flexible. If it's not possible for a week, that's fine, it's still within the parameters the expression sets. :D Next weekend. Looking forward to it.

Then again, that argument is so not valid if you tell me you won't have time to work on your track until June. 2010. :P

Pretty sure Usa didn't start this until after SoS (in fact it was that project that inspired him, if I recall correctly), which means he definitely didn't start before Around the World.

Not that this project hasn't been around for a very long time, but it's not as old as you might think. :<

Rozovian
02-06-2009, 11:26 AM
There's a couple of custom sigs in the first post, musician only tho. Should get Usa to make promotion sigs as well.

Or you can grab mine. :D I update it with progress info and whatever. Ripped the idea from OA.

As for taking tracks and having the skill for it, do it for fun. If we feel it's not good enough and we can't help get it good enough, you will have made a nice remix yourself. If it does get good enough... we'll all be happier. :D

No deadline set atm. Let me know which track you want, and show me a wip of it within a week or so. Might be a good idea to PM me about the style and genre and approach, etc. you're going for first.

Speaking of which, there are people who would have failed most deadlines had we set (I mean enforced) any. We will be making their tracks available if these remixers fail to reply within... a month. Maybe. Couple of weeks. Depends on whether or not we like what we've heard.

edit: ok, got it. It's yours. Don't worry too much about that old genre restriction thing. Just don't make it too artificial and glitchy sounding.

In other news, we're planning a promo reel and need more music for that. We'll use wip stuff, sure, but we want fresh wips.

Abadoss was probably mentioned because we've talked about his track in the thread. Big surprise that the guy whose track we've talked about is in the project. ;) Maybe you should do more tracks for the project, dude. :D

Weird how I wasn't mentioned. Maybe they're hoping there won't be an eggshaker on the album. That might actually spur me to get mah remixes done.

Anyway, summer's coming, fast. That means everybody's gonna be busy, and then everybody's gonna be lazy. I'm gonna write a list of the tracks we need to have on this project, then check their progress and plan to release the project after they're done. That means, sadly, that there may be tracks that won't be finished in time, and we're not gonna use unfinished tracks on an official ocr project.

Then again, it might mean people (myself included) will actually pick up the pace and GET TEH REMIXES DONE!!

Just curious, but how is everything else coming along for the project like artwork and the release site? Is everything almost complete, or not even?

Rozovian

That has been Usa's part of the project lately. From what I remember when we last talked about it, he said he'd do the site, we've both got a few artist connections, and when it comes to the rest of the tracks, we got another near-finished track today. :D

We're considering different release plans atm, but we're not planning to release it before fall. It depends on the ocr project queue and stuff like that. The sooner we get tracks in, the sooner we'll know. (meaning: get ur trax in kthx)

May 34th, What the fuck!?

And Rozo, honey, I'm TOTALLY going to seriously start Closed Garden here soon, late June or early-mid July.

Sometime, we need to figure out how I can polish up Radiate Me. My mixing has gotten better, but I'm so sick of tweaking obsessively I just want to die some days. We'll get to that soon.

Project popularity +0.1! (it all counts!)

Now, keep up the remixing and I look forward to seeing this project come together soon, can't wait to see what someone comes up with for Obsession, and the Sacrifice series.

Just to give you a rough idea of the project timeline as far as I know it, FF4 comes out on July 18th. Xenogears and DKC 2 aren't set in stone as to the release dates, but Xenogears is likely to come out in September/October, and DKC 2 in November/December. After those, there aren't any with particular time periods slated as far as I'm aware. Of course it's a good idea to verify these things with Larry first, as there could always be updates from other projects I'm not aware of.

The SPC-format soundtrack is here (http://solad.thasauce.net/solad-spc.rar). Get chipamp or (if you're on mac) Audio Overload to listen.

These tracks are, if my notes are correct, free:

116 Oh I'm a Flamelet
301 Can You Fly Sister?
307 Black Soup
314 The Sacrifice pt II
319 Return to Forever

These are covered in multitrack remixes, old remixes, or they're tracks we're not sure the remixer is still working on. Also free to take:

113 Damn Damn Drum
205 Female Turbulence
219 Obsession
305 Weird Counterpoint
311 Religion Thunder
317 Farewell Song

You're impurfekt from the seikens board, right? Did I invite you to the project? I know I was gonna. If not I must have forgotten. Yeah, you're welcome to join.

Everybody's doing Innocent Sea. :P All right, they're yours. Focus on Return to Forever, tho. ;)

We're going for a kind'a non-electronic overall sound, so if you were planning on something unts unts beep beep, show me an early version and I'll let you know before you've gotten to far whether it'll work on the project. We do make occasional exceptions when we think the track will work with the others.

FF4 had everything and the kitchen synth, we've got a more narrow focus. Drop me an early version by email or PM or something so I know what you're going for and I'll let you know how it'll work on the project.

Well I just saw the list of what wasn't taken and listened to them all :) I will do as you suggest and focus on Return to Forever first.

No worries on the sound. My intent was to keep them clean and as natural sounding as possible. I do usually have a pad or synth in there somewhere though (if I feel it improves the overall composition). Definitely no "untz untz". I try and stay close to the original mood with my remixes.

I'll work up basic versions of both perhaps They seem much less complex musically than the original Secret of Mana pieces I worked with on my Mana EP. I'll PM something in a few days.

Thanks mate!

I just finished listening to the FF4 remix collection. I must say I wish it had been organized better. I think the majority of casual fans may find it a rather tedious listen. Not due to it's length, but rather to it's chaotic blend of styles. I found myself skipping every track that included electric guitars (I simply cannot stand them in instrumental music) and a few other tracks as well. In effect, the mood was constantly being disrupted and reminding me I was listening to a jumble of music instead of a beautiful RPG score. And I have to add that "Evoking the Dawn" (3-07) was easily the best piece on the collection.

If this project can flow in a more natural manner it will certainly be to everyone's benefit. I understand that is difficult to pull off given the number of artists involved. But surely we can do a better job than others have done. As there seems to be no shortage of artists, perhaps you can afford to be a bit picky ;)

What program will you guys be using for this project?:?

Rozovian
07-21-2009, 07:33 PM
Everybody uses their own. Personally, I use Logic.

Dunno how old you are or what your music experience is but from the questions you've asked I'd guess you're fairly young and haven't done that much music, at least not on computer. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't really understand the relevance of the question. Are you thinking of joining so we'd supply you with a copy of the software we use? That would be inconvenient, counter-productive and unnecessary as most ppl who make music have their own programs... And illegal. Besides, it takes time to learn the program, so it wouldn't be a good idea to get people with no experience on the project since they'd need help all the time.

I think you'd be better off practicing and playing with demos of software, hanging out in Workshop and learning both writing and mixing. Check out the guides and tutorials, free software posts, etc...

Bonryu
07-21-2009, 09:45 PM
Its no problem Im 19 and no I have not done much. But im willing to learn more and help out with this project any way that I can. The programs that im familiarizing myself with at this point are Reaper and paulstretch.

Rozovian
07-21-2009, 09:53 PM
You're welcome to join if you can convince me you'll do a good enough track in keeping with the project direction. Unfortunately, if you're only now starting to familiarize yourself with the programs, i would suggest you hang out on our originals and remix feedback boards, post some stuff you're working on, hear what ppl think of them, and improve. That takes time, even with critique and support.

You can PM me when you post something on the wip boards, I'll let you know what I think. If you want to get on the project, you gotta convince me you can deliver, you know.

All right it's yours. Off to page 1 to get it off the list. :D

You should know we've got a version of it on the project already, but the remixer in question lost the project file. It remains as a bonus track unless the remixer asks for it to not be included. Just FYI, shouldn't really matter to you.

Dunno. he made it, the project stagnated, he had it posted, the project is back alive... I talked to him about it, talked to Usa about it, don't remember what we decided on. The list of available tracks doesn't actually say which tracks we include or don't, so we might use it. Dunno.

Regardless, it _is_ free to take. Would be nice to have an even more awesome take on it... or just a different take. nothing says we can't have both Nocturnal and someone else's rendition.

*ahem* Not here either, sorry. We use email, PMs, and stuff. :D

Learning curve... it depends on your workflow. if you use patterns a lot you might have some problem adapting to regions/loops... or not, totally depends on your workflow. Depends on what new DAW you get too.

In any case, you'll have to learn the interface and probably find new favorite instruments to use (or figure out how to import your old ones, if possible). Same with effects. It should be more a nuisance than a problem, tho - they all read midi and make music. :D

Listening to your wip now, PM you a response in a bit.

Looks like someone needs to be disciplined =p
Anyhoo, this remix is pretty neat, samples are sort of an issue with me tho; I'm not really partial to the square wave sound, it doesn't really mix with the feel of the mix to me...could just be me. But I'm thinking that making it grungier and saw-like might help it to fit in better and not stick out like a sore wanker
Moreover, I'm thinking that the drums could be made to sound more IN YOUR FACE sounding instead of mainstream pop-rock ish. Especially for the kind of source material, one would expect well...more energy, this one seems kinda laid back to me, although the low guitar rhythm does off set that a bit.

I think this is a great start though, keep at it :)...and PM us next time, instead of posting on this thread since this project is supposed to be a dirty little secret :<

And Rozo...STOP BEING AFK you lazy Finn!!

Rozovian,

So I'm perhaps 2/3 of the way finished transcribing the notes for "Return to Forever" and wondering; are you aiming for a particular length with these tracks? I ask because the original piece is 8:36 and the last 4 minutes are quite repetitive (not sure if that's the credits or epilogue or what).

Normally, when I remix game music I remove a lot of the repetition to keep things interesting. I'm guessing in this case I'd cut at least two minutes off the end.

Rozovian
07-31-2009, 09:50 PM
Cut whatever repetition you need, rewrite parts if necessary... it's a remix, there's room for artistic liberties, personal creative changes, stuff like that.

Lemme hear it when you can show me.

That would be cool.

We could easily have this project done by christmas if everyone would get working on their tracks.

Oh, I don't think I'm good enough to get onto any project yet. I just meant that I like keeping up with the "Progress charts" of all the various OCR projects and seeing which artists are involved with each track. Things like that :-P

Well, there _are_ three open tracks on the first post in the thread. If those won't do, any requests on what kind of tracks you're interested in doing (ie town, boss theme/battle, area with monsters to fight)? Also, pm me something non-electronic (as in not techno/dance/chip/synth) you've done.

Feeling better already. A little. ;)

:? get better Rozo. That's an order.

My bad, Emunator. Misread your post. My sick made me do it. If you want to try tho, we'll provide feedback along the way. If you can't mix it, we can take your arrangement and put our sounds on it and mix it for you.

Thanks Alex. I'm feeling better, and my fever is going up. Immune system operational. Head, throat, sides aching. The doctor (not necessarily a qualified physician) might prescribe wips and wavs, gentlemen. Help me out here. :D

Updated tracklist. Sucks having to open tracks, makes me feel like the project is moving the wrong direction.

Oh well... new tracks, ppl! Any takers?

I also started a new sorting system for wips and progress demos. Should make this behemoth easier to manage. I would appreciate if you all dropped me wips so I can put it to good use. Especially if you haven't sent me anything the past few months.

Will do. I honestly am considering taking a day off of work sometime in September to just work on all my mixes from 8 AM until Midnight. It'll make remixing much more serious business. I'll have a WIP to you....soon....

I hat myself for not having done anything with Farewell Song yet... *sigh* well, first to finish my other one, then I'll start on farewell song again

Or just show me you can work fast and good. ;)

And l99... Appreciating the plan. :D

I've been telling myself over and over, no more projects, no new commitments. But.....

If pu doesn't take farewell song, I'll give it a shot. I'm thinking celtic ballad.

Hm, I'll listen to the open tracks and see if I like anything. Just can't get the tracklist of SD3 into my head.

Sorry pu. I'm not gonna have you cage-fight Tauce over it. I don't mind having two remixes of it (tho I prefer having one of each of the other tracks first). Who finishes first? :D

I like how you're thinking, Tauce. Welcome aboard.

This honestly is probably the best way to do it; I have an idea, but I won't know until I sit down to record how well it will actually work out.

Hey Nase, didn't see you there. Yeah, see if you find anything you want your name on. :D

I work better under pressure anyway :P I'm curious to see what our different takes our going to be Taucer (though what I now have is very ballad-ish aswell)

Just posting to remind everybody that we're not going away. I've been doing some guesswork and I think we're at about 50% now. Many track done, many tracks almost... and then there's tracks I want your wips for. Hard to say exactly where we're at tho, as so many tracks are close but not quite there yet, and then there's the matter of remixers who have been incommunicado for a while now.

If you're supposed to do a track for a project, do it asap. Especially if you're supposed to do tracks for more than one. Especially if this project is one of them. :D

A couple more remixes are almost done, just going over some final crits and hoping Usa will have the time to come online and listen in case there's something I missed.

Ten days with no posts here, and the thread sinks under tons of other project threads. Great to see activity on so many projects, but it'd be nice to have more activity on this one. We're old, we're half way there, we could easily wrap this up within a few months if everybody would pick up and finish their tracks.

On a side note, I'm getting close to finishing my boss themes track, which means I can move on to to work on all the other project tracks I've claimed.

I think it's kind of funny that I signed up for the specific project forums but, apparently, y'all don't use them anymore!!! I've been dead trying to come up with my arrangement for Damn Damn Drum, cause nothing's clicking. If I don't get any actual progress by the end of next week, I may just release the track since it's doing nothing in my hands. I'd consider swapping for another in this case, but yeah, this is just a heads up. We are now entering the OCR Swamp of Projects, which gives Florida swamps a run for their money! :nicework:

I've left notices all over the place that the old forum isn't really much in use. Been thinking about talking to Kyle about getting room on kngi's forums where half the other projects seem to be based.

On the flip side, it would be interesting for everyone involved to hear the album without having much of an idea about what everybody else has done. Certainly made the ff4 album release a bigger experience for me. I heard one or two tracks besides my own before the release.

We'll see about the forum.

But yeah, you're welcome to switch tracks if you want.
