Embedded video parsing has been added to the forums.

We realize this is something that may be abused (and WILL be heavily moderated for abuse!), but the considerable pros outweigh the potential cons.

Please report any issues here.

Is there/will there be an option to disable this in the User CP?

It doesn't come with the plugin, so no. I'll request that as a feature for the plugin, but that's up to the author. If tons of people hate it, I'll just disable it; otherwise, Greasemonkey, etc. could probably be used to disable it - it's pure Javascript, AFAIK.

A unique tag would have been preferable (to me at least), but I like this. :nicework:

We've had something like this on the Anime Remix forums for a while now, pretty handy actually! For things like the "Incredible Internet Videos" thread here, or other stuff.

And yeah HOPEFULLY abuse of this is minimal :P

I am so tempted to rick roll everyone. Of course, that would probably be considered "abuse" wouldn't it?

EDIT: Why isn't this thread in Announcements?

Minor functionality changes, particularly to the forums, aren't usually put in announcements AFAIK...

It's not THAT big of a deal in terms of site dev. Go hang around the new composer pages. :-P
