Info:
This is my tribute to the Donkey Kong Country series on the SNES, but mainly to the man behind the great soundtrack, David Wise. He is one of my favorite musicproducers and have been a huge inspiration to me. All the tracks on the album are based on a sample from the soundtrack. Then I have mashed these samples to either hip hop or RnB acapellas. On top of this i have added alot of my own production like drumloops, basslines, effects, samples and synths. I also have to thank "Pinkoloss", an amazingly talented friend of mine, for making the fabulous cover art. I recommend you to visit his blog (adress is above).

So, I already told this guy he was awesome, several times, in his thread over at GYBO. So I don't need to tell him that any more. Obviously, I'm the one that bugged him to post this here, as I'm pretty sure a lot of people here will get a huge kick out of this. I am, however, posting this for the benefit of people that are thinking, "rap pellas? That sounds kind of lame...." It's not lame. It is, in fact, certifiably awesome. Do yourself a favor and download this.

P.S. Yes, this is the right forum. You did fine.

"Without the Brothers Bear" and "I wish I Had Life Balloons" are definitely my favorite on this. Don't get me wrong, this whole thing is just awesome, but those to are just epic.

Well... Aquatic Ambiance is one of my favorite songs in any video game, ever, so when I say When Diddy's Gone is my favorite mix of them, I'm sort of biased. Runaway Dixie might be a better mix, but it doesn't have Aquatic Ambiance in it.

You could mix utter crap with Aquatic Ambiance, and as long as it was in-key and in-synch crap, I'd like it. No, not In-Sync crap, though, hey, give me a pella ;).

This is an amazing concept album. And when I say "amazing," I don't mean "good," "cool" or "shocking" (though it is all those things); no, I mean that it inspires amazement. I was amazed. Speechless. It was not because you did something that I'd never seen attempted (Snoop Dogg vs. "Gormet Race" is a good example) or that the source material wasn't familiar (I had heard all those 'pieces-parts' before), but because you made it work in a way I never thought possible. Not only was the quality there (and you even made the original hip-hop sound better at times), but you kept it up throughout the album.

:nicework:

Here's hoping we'll see more from you in the future!

Three days later and I'm still listening to this stuff. I put it on every other album or so, and I just jam at work. This stuff is utter classic.

"I Wish I Had Life Balloons" and "The Way Barrels Are" are extremely addicting. The DKC music really meshes well with the lyrics. Props. :)

Download the album about a week ago and I can say that I enjoy it. I don't care for much rap or hip-hop, but several of the tracks I've been listening to regularly.

Billie Jean Kong and Raymond Wise have to be my favorites though. Excellent job on these.
