So Exact Audio Copy confuses me in a couple of ways.
I know how to rip as FLAC. You press the "mp3" button off to the left. ... mp3 wut
Also, there's a way to compress WAV to FLAC, but when I click decompress WAV, there's no FLAC option... .. wut
Thanks in advance.

Have you used the External Compression tab in the compression options (F11) to set up the FLAC encoder? If you haven't, you basically just need to tell it the location where the FLAC encoder is installed. There's a setup guide here (http://xs.vc/eac/Setup/setup4.html) if you need it.

It's really just ripping to WAV and then converting to your filetype of choice. The graphic is MP3 because it's assumed that the vast majority of EAC users are going to rip to MP3.

I personally use Easy CD-DA Extractor (http://www.poikosoft.com/). It also keeps track of disc errors and such, but it seems less overkill than EAC. Easy CD-DA also has many more options and potential formats.

Fuck off. Maybe that will help the robot get the message. Probably not though.
Easy CD DA Extractor grows better with every version. It has now implemented a checksum which can be used to ensure a rip is identical when done more than once. I really think that the extractor program can provide just as faithful a rip as EAC.
