Great mix, man! Its really peaceful and has an interesting atmosphere about it. I really enjoyed the cool percussive stuff. Its a very complex and emotional mix that fits really well with the feel of the game.

Great first mix and I can't wait to hear more from you!

Took long enough; i remember talking about this one at MAGfest :<

This mix is really weird for me, there are points where I am completely locked in, and then some rhythmic shift jars me out of my zone. Soundwise it's great, but it sounds to me more like a corrupted file or something than anything intentional. After repeatedly pointing it out to you on WIPs, it's still there, so I do know it's intentional, but I just don't follow I guess.

Soundwise I love the ambiance of it, and there are some great parts shifting around. The sound is very unique and with a few exceptions (not a static fan), solid.

Grats on getting your official OCR wings :-D

Very enjoyable. Definitely pulled off that serene feeling. I love that synth lead and the way it just rises out of the mix. Cool stuff, looking forward to more.

Yeah, it's high time you officially made it on the front page. You've earned it. :)

I don't know why but listening to this brought "Legend" to mind....
Anyway, really chill mix. I like how the synth strings slowly turn more and more distorted.
I really love the percussion in this too. It's felt but not heard.

This is a nice one...
I find it slightly oriental-like, which makes it even more charming to me.

I agree with both of these on my first listen. Perhaps "The Winds of Himeji" might have been somehow more appropriate :nicework:

Name aside, it's a very solid track, and I can only really echo what Broken said above me. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of your work (as well as FF XII tracks) in the coming months eh?

Just for the record too, I've been to Inismore (it's usually spelled without the 'h' but it both are accepted generally)and it really is a quiet and peaceful place. That is, until the now-annual TedFest, a local fundraising Father Ted-themed festival.

Hey man. Gratz on yer post!

Very cool mix youve done. Love the intervalls in the harp.
Great arrangement. You manage to keep the good flow through whole piece.

Great track to have in the playlist after some intensive tracks.

Really beautiful.

Gah, this brings back memories of my frustrations with FFXII.

I love the overall feel. The celtic influences definitely speak to me as an irish person. But i was a little thrown by what sounded like caribbean steel drums(?). It just kinda took me out of the soothing feel that the celtic instrumentation gave. Maybe it will grow on me.

Id love to be able to make a celtic piece with Uilleann Pipe, tin whistle, flute. They make such a beautiful sound. But i have neither the skills, nor the resources, so its great to hear celtic influences in others works.

For someone who claims to be tone-deaf, you certainly hid it well for this track :).

Grats, mate! Sounds very very cool!

Great work, Shawn. It's long overdue that we saw you on the front page. (Actually, for those who may now know, Shawn's had a track approved for months now but is waiting on the Super Dodgeball Project to be released before it can go up).

So technically, while this is his first song to go up, it's not his first song to get accepted.

Looking and listening back, I suppose my vote was really more of a Conditional YES than a NO, Resubmit. But whatever. I'm happy to see it official, bro. Great work :)

This is really good...

I'm not sure what else to say at the moment. I just really like it. I'm always a sucker for Celtic influences and fusions. This did very well in blending the variety of styles. A wonderful and vibrant soundscape.

All the times I heard this song while trying to get the Zodiac Spear...

I'm glad this one made it. But DJP, is every new game icon going to be the title screen?

wow, the stuff you did with the cymbal overtones in the middle of the piece is really fantastic! Such an interesting sound, I really like it!!! Nice mix man, congrats!

It feels like not that long ago that I finished FFXII, and it is pretty nice to see that a remix of it has already been released. Solid stuff. Glad to see a game with a great soundtrack have a great remix as its first one.

Not a bad remix. Ive been in-active on these forums for so long...that ive missed tormenting the mixers and pestering Dj Pretz.

But this remix is soothing and mellow. Not a bad tune to chill to after a extremely long night at wal-mart. Makes a hell of a bed time tune if ya catch my drift. 8 out of 10 for this tune.

Yes!!! FFXII, awesome.
This is a really nice mix, it's so relaxing and I think you did a great job.
Hope to hear more from you in the future.

Very nice choice of instruments. While the melody doesn't really do anything for me, I like listening to this just for the unusual instruments we get to hear.

GREAT mix. I loved the harp work, and it's just generally beautiful. Wonderfully interesting sounds and textures. Great work!

This song really puts me at ease and draws me in. I can't help but feel a twinge of sadness everytime I hear it, but I really enjoy the experience. It's been quite inspirational. Very nice work.

Unlike, it seems, everyone else, I'm not enjoying this, and it's the aimlessness that's tripping me. I think something in the arrangement should pin this down. The drums sound really weak, and I think it's rather the arrangement than the sound. At spots like 1:34-1:35 and 3:08-3:09 and 3:12 I'm just.. what?! Is this a scratched CD? At the same time, it's sounds quite beautiful, calm and serene.. the understated synths sounds great with the harp. There are a lot of good rhythmic ideas too, but it just tries way too hard and does not hold together.
