The Wingless posted this in the review topic of his One Girl in All the World remix, and deleted it. I was wondering if I'd ever hear it again, and luckily, I did. :D I like this remix a *little* bit better than the other one. Not sure why, but I guess I just like the happy, hip-hop feeling of this. ...Yep. I'm done. :P

I really like the beginning of this one. My personal tastes are such that I'm not fond of drums except in very specific situations. So whenever the drums pop in, I kinda sigh and wish they'd go away. Then they do go away for a spell, and return once more later on. If only they'd stay away!

But yeah... I'm big on the anti-drum thing. I'm of the opinion that the instruments themselves usually provide enough punctuation to provide a beat, and often do a much better job of it than drums do.

I'll give this mix an 8.9/10 for the half of this mix without drums, and a 7.9/10 for the half with drums, for an 8.4 overall.

But take my review with a grain of salt, being heavily biased as it is.

lol. When i fired up this remix my little brother thought that i was playing the sims. I like the happy feel about this remix. Your remixes are fantastic, Wingless, and they have always been.

Maybe I'm just imagining it, but I thought of the Sunken Ship in Mario 64 when I heard this. I think it's because there's a striking resemblance in the piano work in Pearl Song and this mix. This might be stating the obvious since they were both done by The Wingless. I liked this mix, but I think my relating it to Pearl Song kind of killed it's uniqueness in my mind. (Reason being that Pearl Song is easily one of my favorite OCRs)

I actually really liked One Girl in All the World a lot better. I though that remix was an absolute masterpiece.

I'm afraid I can't say I particularly like this piece. It sounds like One Girl In All The World distorted to be something it's not. Just like society distorted me to the point where I see the (I hope) completely unintentional sexual imagery in the new title.

yeah, same here... this is like the leftovers in comparison, even though its still really good. its hard not to compare them when wingless made them just about the same time and named them similarly... either way. outside of comarisons made, this is good work standing alone. i haven't heard a bad remix by wingless yet...

Oh man, I love that organ! Now that that's out of the way, I just wanna say I really liked this piece. Everything about it is just so polished, so well-arranged. And the instrument choice is filled with variety and yet still works. I mean, is that a harpsichord in there? One thing that I found strange, not necessarily wrong, was the drums. Why the muffledness and low-quality sound? It adds something, sure, but I think cleaner drums just would've worked better. Then again, I'm not the Wingless, so I got nothin'. Just a sweet mix, man. Keep it up. :nicework:

Even though this song is meant to compliment "One Girl in All the World", I don't think that makes it necessary to compare them to each other in a sense of which one is better. Both are fantastic - each just puts its own spin on things. They have different focuses - while "One Girl in All the World" seems to focus on the feeling of one girl isolated in a vaste unknown place, giving a lonely undertone, "All the World in One Girl" is more introspective. It shows an underlying, simple happiness and beauty. It's cheerful, but not obnoxiously so. The piano is light and intricate, flowing beautifully throughout the piece, and the organ is a lovely, lively addition that suits the song well. There seems to be quite a variety of instruments that are perfectly blended together. The drums don't do much, but they're subtle and carry the piece without "intruding", so I haven't a problem with them.

I initially heard this one right after listening to "One Girl in All the World" and at first didn't like it as much. But after a few listens, it felt to me that "One Girl in All the World" was meant to carry a feeling of exploration, power and loneliness, and "All the World in One Girl" was of a more inward, thoughtful, comforting and simply happy focus. They're two different looks at one thing, which is what remixing in general focuses on - a different take on something. The feel of one might appeal to some more than others, but both pieces are excellent in their own right and each compliments the other perfectly.

He did pull it after a few weeks, but I was fortunate to have downloaded it while he put it on here.

I already said on the "other version" reviews that these were both A+ in my book. I loved this one slightly more actually, and it's still not getting old. The "Noctis Luminae" version of the song on his site is even better.

Subtility is not in this mix's vocab, the piano and organ rifts just fly at you while the solo clarinet and good drums round out this mix. As I was thinking about the mix after school I realized that this mix's piano had a lot of potential, I guess that simpler is beter sometimes, go figure  Any way there is one perfect word to describe this mix bubbly (shudder)

I really like this one. I got all his songs from here and his website, and I've been listening to this one the most for a few weeks. I really enjoyed the bubbly feel, and the drums just sound cool to me. I wish I knew what to call that effect on the drums. I agree though, the interval at 0:44 is really strange and it doesn't work for the peice.

I don't like how the :44 before it is a tune that repeats more times than necessary.

I like this! It makes me smile when I listen to it. :) Reminds me of metroid, yet keeps a nice happy mood through the whole thing. I like both of the mixes, "One Girl in all the world" and "All the World in One Girl". They go really nice together, and apart as well.

I was kind of afraid of this mix when I first read about it. Bubbly? Metroid? I didn't think I could stand that combination.
But it's not bubble-gummy or sugar glazed super happy like I feared it was.
"One Girl in All the World" had this feeling that Samus realized how lonely she was. I imagined her walking alone, with a mission, and yet somewhat saddened that there was nobody there to share this with her.
But this song was the opposite. It was if Samus realized that things weren't so bad, and put a bit of boost in her step.
The song still retains the beautiful piano that One Girl in All the World did. I think you'll be surprised how drastically different this is mood-wise without sacrificing the prettiness of the original.

The wingless has sure grown from his life force remix. I'm just cleaning up the orgasmic mess i made when i heard this new addition by The Wingless. Holy hell those are some awe inspiring samples, and the use of them clearly shows careful study of playing them. the keyboarding and composition of the piano and organ makes the wingless look like a pro. sigh.. if only i could be this good! -_- the break down intro at 2:54-2:57 was well thought out and gave me goose bumps!

my only regret is that the drumbeat is filtered. i was hoping it was full filter off, highs on eq way up, and crispy. but thats my taste for this genre of music.

Maybe she just met the etecoons?

After the first listen, I seriously considered deleting this mix from my HD. That would have been a mistake.

Further listening has shown that, far from being "companion-peices" ATWIOG & OGIATW ought to be kept as far away from each other as possible, otherwise the second one you listen to will sound wrong.

Great joearb! :D

Groovalistic. The organ and piano are perfect

The transition at 0:44, where the next section that comes in causes dissonance with the stuff before... it can be understood in the context of what's going on, not the end of the world, but for all y'all remixers out there, that's a thing to be careful to avoid. It's something you'd get marked down for in a music theory class! :P

And the transition right before 3:00, it felt like it was going to have a tempo change... a "hung" note, as djpretzel put it.

That don't keep me from appreciating a good bit of music when I hear it though.

No, I meant specifically at :44. Not after, that's fine... just that precise note at :44.

I still haven't found it :) Of course, I've only played Prime and Fusion, but I hoped it would be a theme that was used in one of those games too like Magmoor.

This is one of the few songs that actually makes me a little sad that it's over. I heard the hung note that was spoken of, but it doesn't change the song overall in any way. The overall feel of this is good. This would be an awesome background music for the game instead. I could listen to this over and over again. It's a very good remix. The clarinet(I think)adds a good sound that keeps the happy upbeat remix a little down to earth.

The song was alright by itself. I thought it was a cool idea posting it soon after "One Girl in all the World" since the two contrast one another in terms of style, yet seemed to mesh well when heard back to back. Mad props to The Wingless for yet another masterpiece!

I'm amazed there aren't more comments/reviews of this song. I'll throw my two in...

I don't want to offend anyone, but Mr. Burnett (The Wingless) is my favorite remixer on this site. But then again, I'm a complete piano whore when it comes to musical instruments I enjoy hearing done to a drumbeat.

This song is no exception to my tastes. Throwing out at the beginning with a theme, to the backdrop of Brinstar.

I can't say much about the song other than it flows very well, and is generally enjoyable to listen to. Light and bubbly is right. Not dance music, but not quite easy-listening. Maybe piano pop? Something along those lines.

Anyway, this gets my highest-rated stamp of approval. I'm lovin' it.

I am just blown away by the interpretation(s) of this song. I always hated the Maridia theme when I played Super Metroid because it was so slow, repetitve, and boring. Wingless has made two arrangements of the theme, both of which are surprisingly great to listen to, and they have remained favorites of mine since they were first posted. In fact, I had my first kiss with my girlfriend to this song, and we promptly started making out. Actually, this may become "our song" later in our relationship. Thanks Wingless for giving me the opportunity to express my feelings with your beautiful, emotional song.

I love how much movement is going on throughout this song, and I especially love the subtle reoccurring themes from the original melody changing from instrument to instrument. An absolutely amazing song, and I look forward to more remixes in the future.

Not only is this the best video game remix I've ever heard (and I've been frequenting OCRemix and VGMix for years), but this song touched me more than any other piece of music that I've heard throughout my life. I've managed to get over my depression by listening to this song on a daily basis for the last year. I love the upbeat melody and piano work in the background of this song. The only other song on the site which comes close to this masterpiece is its counterpart - 'One Girl in All the World' - which happens to be my second favorite song on the site. My favorite parts of 'All the World in One Girl' are the parts that start at 0:45, 1:12, 1:47, and 3:14. The ending is beautiful, too.

100/100 - Best song on OCRemix! Best remix ever! Better than 'One Girl in All the World'!

Is there any chance of seeing 'All the Girl in One World' or 'One World in All the Girl' in the future?

There are a lot of mixes I love. OCR is a treasure trove of beautiful music. Yet... This song makes me happy. Despite finding many beautiful songs when I discovered OCR, not many mixes have done that. In fact, this may be the sole exception. The melody is simple, bubbly, light, airy, and very, very beautiful. I never initially enjoy a Wingless mix. That's his beauty, I think. When I hear a Wingless song for the first time, I'm not in the right state of consciousness to receive it. I hear it, but I don't hear it. But, at some point in time, maybe even weeks, months later, I do finally hear it, and can see the often simple beauty that had eluded me for so long before. Eutopia Pegasi, and the counterpart to this very song, are perfect (ly beautiful) examples. Each Wingless mix comes at the time when it is needed. And this mix is something I will always need. In times of darkness or depression, this mix can remind me of the beauty of the world (in one girl).

Because each time I listen to this song, I smile, and because of that, I feel that, in many ways, this song is the best I have found on OCR to date. Smiles don't always come easily, and to find a piece of art that always makes one smile, no matter if smiles come easy or hard at that time, is to find a piece of happiness.

Usually by this point in my commentary, I tell the mixer in question, "Good job," and congratulate him/her on finely crafting a wonderful piece of work. But in this comment I feel I have to say something radically different, to Wingless:
Thank you, for the smiles.

(And good job, of course. ;) )

Great stuff wingless, I am always amazed at your work, and I like the happy/ calming feeling that this one brings. I like your twin song scheme too, I think that this song would be best if I were playing a game of solitaire or something. Or if this were the song that played while i was put on hold, it would fit perfectly and make me feel much better. Don't ask me why I put these songs in their "best scenario from my point of view" But who know, maybe there's someone out there just searching for the right time and place to listen to a certain remix......Ya, I feel stupid now. Now that's what I call a damn good review.

You beat me to it! Drat! I was going to say that the following section (for reference, taken from Kureejii Lea's review on page 1) put into words exactly what I thought:

"'All the World in One Girl' is more introspective. The drums don't do much, but they're subtle and carry the piece without 'intruding', so I haven't a problem with them."

I'd add too the bit about not recognizing the Brinstar theme until I made a conscious effort to hear it--except for the part at 2:04. I heard that right away, and it has always been my favorite part. It's like angel food cake on piano. :-)

I love this piece and am very grateful for its existence.

Edit: By the by, this art piece compliments the music beautifully--even though it's titled for the counterpart. Be sure to enlarge to picture.

I can see it before me! A humorous track with phat beatz and digitized voices that nobody with an internet connection will be able to avoid.
"Now playing: The Wingless - Super Metroid All Your World Are Belong To Girl OC ReMix"

Good job on this track though, it is really amazing to hear something with this positive emotion and so much going on all the time considering the source! There really are no limits to what you can do (except the submission rules then, huhu).

Compared to "One Girl in All the World", this is more playful and less atmospheric, and as a companion piece it works nicely. Smooth, sentimental, and very nice.

I see this mix has been around for a while, but I just discovered it a month ago when I decided I would listen to all the OCRemixes that I had downloaded but never got a chance to hear.

Since that time it has been on all my playlists. You do a great job of achieving a nice light and relaxed feel throughout the entire piece. That to me is its greatest selling point. I absolutely love mixes like this especially since there seem to be only a small number of them.

Great job! :)

Truly a beautiful piece. I think I'll have to have it played at my wedding when I finally find my one girl in all the world :)Wrong one :-P. The twin to this one has that title...
Anyways, for a little critiquing of this song.
First off, I'd like to say that this is probably my favorite ReMix of all time. I really don't hear many cons to mention, so I guess I'll just start with listing all the wonderful things about it!
Great piano. I love its line, and I wish I had the music to it, although it is repeated enough that someone could probably pretty easily figure it out on the piano. I personally liked the length and such of this song, but people I showed it to (the philistines!) didn't really like it. This is the major downside of this song, which they all pointed out: It repeats a lot. This could get annoying if you didn't enjoy the section it repeats to start with. While there may be some variation, it's not enough to really tell without some serious digging.
I liked the strings coming in at 2:48 - it adds some nice variation from the theme that's been looping. Also the three different minor variations on the theme that are looped throughout the entire piece. Also, I have to say - endings are hard. This song, however, managed to NAIL that ending! Great job, Wingless! 9.5/10!

Since everyone else is comparing it, i'll do so too, and I prefer this one. The sequencing is pretty damn mechanical sounding, but I still love the track. Some really nice textures throughout, and a good sense of progression. I especially liked the piano and the small melodies tucked away in the arpeggios. That's one of my favorite things bout music, and if only the piano sounded more natural, this one would be one of my all-time favorites. It still is a worthy track and is worth checking out, however, despite my wishes for a smoother performance.

Contining my travel through all the metroid mixes I haven't listened to yet (and thereby listening to some very old ones), this one is quite unique. I love how you took this popular theme in two very distinct directions. One goes in the fairly typical and recognizable direction, yet does that justice.

But I think the really great part about this one is that it gives it a completely new feel, and is still recognizable, yet amazingly new. Really unique.
