Wow, this is impressive. Of course I'm a sucker for Megaman remixes in general, and Magnet Man was one of my favorite themes. This does justice to it, and the fact that not every single instrument is a synth makes it easy for non-technoers like me to listen and enjoy. It's smooth and edgy all at the same time. Definitely recommended.

Sure I love megaman remixes (there aren't enough)
And I'm a sucker for them all...
Scratch that, I'm just a sucker.
Anyways, with that little confession out of the way, I thought it was another great mix to be added to my playlist.
This mix kicks total ass. Disco Dan, you need to make a lot more Mega Man mixes, you're sure damned good at it.

Groovy remix.
It's nice and upbeat ~ I've been waiting for a Magnet Man Remix :)

Is there any point to this? Seems like you just put nice-sounding instruments playing the original to some abysmal drum machine beat. Granted, this could be good, but I don't really see any depth to it.
That's all excusable with the intentions and styles of the song, but I've grown to expect a certain level of quality with each remix.
I'm guessing the quality in this is derived from the mood, but I just don't feel it...
(And I would probably be more forgiving if this had a real arrangement. It just seems to loop.)

Isn't this really old?
I used to have this from the days of the old ocremix. Like 3 years ago.
I liked it.

This one is quite old, I don't like it that much. Like the others said there's a lack of depth and stuff. There are plenty of much better MM3 mixes by Disco Dan, which haven't appeared on OCR yet.

As Gecko Yamori said, there are better MM3 remixes by Disco Dan which haven't been posted on OCR. Two that come to mind are his Gemini Man "Around The World" remix and his "Needle Man By Night" one. They're pretty original as well, just presented in a different flavor.
As for this particular ReMix, it's alright. I like the flavor of it, but it felt like it needed more. Yeah, it's repetitive, but you gotta keep in mind, Disco Dan has always been about keepin it real and original (which is a style I like). This is decent, but comes nowhere near the awesomeness of Blue Lightning and Metal Man Goes Clubbing.

Dear god... finally. I've already remixed my #1 favorite vg tune of all time. I could never quite decide how to do my #2 favorite, which would be Magnet Man.
One of the difficulties was that the original, no matter how cool, was very short. So you're automatically excused for the perfectly acceptable amount of repetition in this one. Anybody who is somehow magically unable to hear the variation that Disco Dan has wrung out of this, I regret to inform you that you are deaf, and it's all very sad for you. Seems like some people are too eager to piss on any work that fails to trick them into believing that the Second Coming of Christ has occurred. 'Course everybody's entitled to their opinions and all - and I feel equally entitled to wish them misfortune.
So it isn't every day that a mix of one of my top 5 favorite songs ever appears, and I downloaded this with a mixture of excitement and skepticism.
Now I'm listening to it, and smiling from ear to ear. This is fantastic, DD. There are a couple of places where the chords/slides are nothing short of gorgeous. I also love some of the echo/arp sections in the brokedown latter half - very pretty. The tempo, beat, and tone are of the only sort that I'd want to hear paired with this particular song. So I finally have a souped up Magnet Man to listen too, which I've always wanted - thanks man.
Very nice job.

i didn't like it because of the lack of creativity... which sux cuz i like magnet man's song :/
that guitar is nice though... as djpretzel said, it sounds more Hawaiian than Western
please make more mixes Disco Dan!! But also be creative plz :D

Yes there is a god!
DiscoDan as always nice work, I too am a sucker for Mega Man music, this track in particular. Very nicely done, I would have added the BreakMan whistle in there just because I love when it happens in the stage, but it was still totally bomb! Nice work!

Only one question remains...
Why did this even have to go through the judge's panel?

Go to his profile and check his homepage.
As for the mix, its well done, but I don't really like the choice of genre. That's fine though, to each his own. Nice work Dan.

Oh man i have to thank you Dan. I don't think i could have gotten through all my college art finals without this mix. (12 drawings in 2 days 8O ) Yep, it takes the right kind of music to get me goin and this was absolutely perfect. Its also a piece that im sure will be ringing in my head for weeks to come. Anyway, I think the selection was PERFECT. One of the better songs in the series. And of course, you put your own signature fun in it, which is always different but great (ala tal tal heights) I consider this one of the best mixes on the site so just keep up the good work. Cant wait for the next one.

I remember finding Disco Dan's Mega Man 3 website ages ago and downloading this. All his songs sounded the same at that time.

This tune was one of my early DD faves. Yes, it's simple - but does it need anything else? We know Dan can do epic, so why not something light on occasion?
I thought this mix had been on OCR before, but I guess I just got it from Dan's site....

Ok...
the banjo makes me think Alabama which is south and yet the guitar sounds more Nashville than Hawaiian. I have listened to my share of country of music, as opposed to you other country noobs who have mistaken for Hawaiian. Shame on you.
I liked it. Mind you, I have never heard the original, mostly because I can never get anywheres in a Megaman game. (It's too easy to die. :( )

listening...
head beating rythm...
right foot beating rythm...
feet beating rythm...
standing up and dancing...
OUCH! The drums are soooooooooo good!
Also like the beautiful chords of the syn'pad.
Conclusion: downloading other mixes by Disco Dan...
Thanks for your music, DD!

Weak. Plain weak. Normally, I wouldn't mind such a remix... but this is coming from Disco Dan, the guy who created the awesome BlueLightning and Braving Tal Tal Heights. Sure, it's an old piece... but given how hypercritical Disco Dan is of some of the remixes that are submitted to OCR, this is very disappointing.
VicksCornatto's What Hath Thou Done With This > Magnet Man Goes West.
And to think if that were submitted now, it wouldn't be accepted because of its samples. While I'm on the subject... shouldn't we be a little bit more critical of a remix's substance rather than sound quality?

Holy shit. It is finally done. Now OCR is complete. I'm so glad that this has finally been posted to OCR.
Every time I listen to this song, my ears orgasm. Something about this and Dan's Hard Knuckles completely own me.
For the guy who was asking, I'll try to host All Around the World and By Night later tonight.

I have the complete collection of Disco Dan's Mega Man 3 remixes. If anybody wants me to send them over AIM, please e-mail me (ONLY). This is so I can plan to contact you ahead of time. However, for the record, Disco Dan has personally told me that he plans to rerecord/remaster all of his MM3 mixes to be released in the future. So if you can wait off, I'm sure the goods will come around in due time.

Ahh good ole cheery mix that's good for all...cheesy yes.....but anyway this mix was very well done...all i gotta say... 8)
Hey, it's a Russian Yankee Karaoke Pub Mix! I like it. Happy, simple, bouncy craziness - so no reason to get technical on it (wouldn't have anything bad to say if I did)? =]

Magnet Man's theme was my favorite from Megaman 3, and the most memorable in my opinion. I really love the entire song, it's always so catchy. Maybe I'll have to play through Megaman 3 again just to hear the original!

The first OC Remix that I heard was MetalMan Goes Clubbing, a little a year ago, and I was instantly addicted. As soon as possible, I downloaded all of DD's mixes on the site and instantly loved them. This one is no exception. This lives up to what I have loved about DD's mixes. I am a sucker for MegaMan tunes, like many others, but this one stands out of the crowd. It took me a few listens, but i finally caught on to the western feel of the song. I love the song. Keep up the good work!

I like this piece, but the quality of it really gets on my nerves ... there is so much clipping :? it should've at least been dusted off before being posted on OCR. My 2 cents.
Rock on Disco Dan.
Since the last time I played MM3 (on emu of course), I just realized how fun of a song Magnet Man's level was. So I checked here for a remix of it and I was more than happy to come across this great remox from none other than Disco Dan himself! There are tons of things I like about this song, including the buildup of instruments and that (hmm how to word this) "slide thing" the synthesized intrument that sounds like a guitar does. Know what I mean? Kinda like a "boing" sound. Thats cool.
Nice one Dan!! :)

This is, hands down, my favorite Megaman Mix on the site, despite the lack of depth, that Geko mentioned. it helped that this is my favorite track of all the Megaman tracks ever :D
A while back I found Dan's gallery of MM3 Mixes. Good stuff, but I've been looking for days now and I can't find it again. does anyone know if the site is down and if its not, could someone pass on a link or somthing
Many many thanks, and again a most execellent mix indeed

Y'know the original version of this song is addictive enough. Now Disco Dan does THIS to it, and totally blows me away. This is definitely one of those songs that must be had. You will be bopping your head to this tune. Great job, Dan!

Sorry to be a late replyer to this topic. Anyways Magnet Man's music was always my favorite out of Megaman 3's soundtrack and I would play his stage first just to hear this tune. Now Disco Dan comes along and takes and excellent song and makes it better. I always listen to this tune whenever I drop by OCremix.com.

Positively brilliant! Sparkling with a dancable, deleriously happy beat, this remix can be truly called something brought from the Twentieth to the Twenty-First century, while still exuding that coy innocent sweetness found only in the Mega Man series.
It should be said that one the most enigmatic songs out of Mega Man 3 is Magnet Man's stage. The stage itself is break-your-controller hard, and features a villian that is both mad-looking and just plain mad (like when he uses his magnetism ability -- )It comes as a surprise, therefore, that the music for the stage is so giddily happy.
Disco Dan's superb remix for this song comes as a surprise as well. Instead of merely taking the original song and filtering it through another medium, he comes out with a tune that actually enhances the way the original feels.

Rock on Disco Dan.
There is no clipping. I've listened to this with three different sound systems (mp3 player and two computers) with headphones, earplugs, and speakers, and I simply didn't hear any. It's probably you :D

You must listen to your music too loud alot or something. I listen to this remix on a regular basis and I can assure, there is no clipping.
Seriously, this is Disco Dan we're talking about. You really think he'd submit a low quality mix. I think you'd lost your bloody mind.
No offense. :)

I'm a sucker for MegaMan remixes since MegaMan is the.... man... I do really enjoy listening to this tune but, to criticize:
1. There isn't much depth. The sound field is not filled and thus not as exciting as it could be. There are some strings but, not until the very end.
2. It sounds more Hawaiian than anything. I suppose Hawaii is west...
3. Dance has been done. Change the beat up or shorten the song's length.
4. There hasn't much changed from the original.

I listened to this a while ago and didn't like it enough to download it, but I did this time around. The "lighter" sounding instruments sounded a bit strange with the "heavier" beat in the background, but it's no biggie after a couple of listens. You probably could have gone without quite so many pitch bends with the guitar-like thing, though. Those can get irritating in mass quantity. Overall, good job.
Clumsy.

Hmm, I made a comment about clipping before, and I really don't know what I was talking about ... maybe something wrong with my speakers then. It was a while back.
Anyhow, I had to re-DL pretty much everything, and came across this again. Oh man, it's so happy. I love it; it's one of the best. ^_^

I'm not sure why, but for some reason whenever I listen to this song it conjures up mental images of Southern California; especially the city of Bakersfield. I have no idea why. Great song, though. It gets stuck in my head sometimes which is perfectly fine with me.
Fun stuff, I've had this cheerful piece on my playlist for years and years, and I don't see it going anywhere any time soon. :-)
I like how there is an extended drum break near the end of the song, it really isn't in a hurry to go anywhere (must be that laid back west coast attitude ;-), and then like a beautiful sunset (that sets in the west, of course), it gradually fades away.
Nice synths, a good beat, and a catchy and upbeat theme make this a great track.
