very smooth....and the violin playing in the background was great sounding and really carries the piece...at 2:14 when the synth comes back in it feels very good...I am going to leave this in my playlist for a long time along with Malcos' Super Hang-On track.

At first, I didn't know what to think of this remix. That is to say, up to about the first twelve seconds I didn't know. After that, I fell absolutely in love with it! Most of the remixes I've heard of this song are extremely depressing, but Electric Clouds-- a very fitting name-- is . . . uplifting, and I'll definitely be listening to this remix for a very long time! ^^

This song, for whatever reason, makes me feel like Chrono Trigger was on the NES, with the way the electronic sound went. Then came the violin, which made it sound like it was originally released on the PS. Melodic, rythmic, and overall a delight to listen to. Aaahhhhh....the NES....

Those snaps, or clicks, or whatever they were, they ruined the song for me right away.

If it wasn't for those it might be a good song, I dunno, I coulsn't finish listening to it.

well i was skeptical when i looked at the title, but when i finished downloading the song, it blew me away. the use of the synths made it feel retro, yet new at the same time. very oxymoronic in a good way. and regarding the clicks or snaps or whatever, i think it was a good touch because it sounded like a barbersharp quartet keeping up with the beat. keep up the good work. :o

This is really awesome, it also really reminds me of a japanese group named M-Flo that makes some tight music in the genre that this almost sounds like. THey even use the keyboard chord things...man >_> YOu need some vocals in this song.

Wow, this is truely upbeat and beautifully done. Although I was afraid as soon as I saw the word "Zeal", I was going to hear a remix that sounded like the ten thousand others OCR hosts. I'm glad I was wrong; Zeal done in an upbeat jazz genre.. Nice idea! I also love all the finger snappin' goodness. Let's not forget the almighty violin! :P

Wow, how very sad. I'm glad I'm not bothered from great tracks by weird silly reasons.

Disliking the snapping isn't a weird silly reason. I know a couple songs that are pretty irritating because they have some thing constantly going. A song that he didn't listen to wholly and then it's reviewed by the same person is stupid and silly, though. I still listen to those couple songs every now and then.

The song has been transformed into po!'s genre of music pretty well. I like the beginning, but like the guy above I guess the snapping just puts me in a mood to not like such a genre anymore. But they go away soon and then the violin comes in (which is the only reason I'd see to give this highly recommended). I definitely like how the snapping is replaced with a drum that sounds similar to such, but still I'm not much a fan of po! and his thang as everyone else.

I don't really know why there's a violin in this kind of piece, but it sounds good. Sorry for my horrible reviewing skills (I think I need to put that in my sig as well).

very relaxing and the violon and in general the quality of the instruments uplevel that song - definetly a professional remix.

btw this theme always reminds me of Outrun.. i wonder why :)maybe because the rhodes melody is quiet similar to the "last wave" song (not splash wave).

I'll copy my VGMix review. There can never be too many remixes of any song.

Indeed, po!, you have created a Zeal remix worthy to rank as one of the highest in quality and perfection. Perhaps evoking some of the more refined aspects of the song and Zeal itself, this song truly floats in the clouds; it has a certain air of peace about it. It isn't shiningly illustrious, nor bogged in earthiness -- it seems to hang in the balance, a sweetly divine, mellow song that has a place in the firmament above.

A silver lining to an ideal place and song. Excellent work, po! You've managed to add yet another dimension to the concept of Zeal, and as I have said myself -- There can never be too many remixes of a single song, as infinite interpretations and styles to express a piece exist. This shall rank high in my collection.

Melodic, but kind of slow.
The harsh snaps ruined it for me too. Maybe tone those down, get some echo on them.

This remix really has a distinct "cloudy" feeling to it. It's floaty, pleasing, and filled with ambience. This is something you could play at some chic hair salon...it makes good background music.

All in all, definitely worth a listen or two. Or three. Or four...

As I've said before, I love pieces that work despite being very "empty". Texx sound's "I Love the Airport" (http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR01046) and Bazooie's "Theme" from Wizards and Warriors (http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR01034) are some of my favorite on the site. So this was a great listen. The feel from this is so unique. It's sort of electro-jazzy grooviness that still gives off an energy. The violin solo might seem out of place, but it really gives the piece a sweet bridge. The only thing I find a bit...odd...is the snapping. It's so out front. It kinda cuts through and then the lack of reverb makes it awkward. But other than minute little detail, this song's fantastic. Definitely going on my next mix CD. Oh, and po!, I missed you. Make more songs, please. ^_^

I was kinda skeptical about downloading it at first because I am not a big fan of CT music, but I did anyway. This remix really is great. The violin part was my favorite, because violin is my favorite instrument. But.. I have to agree.. I don't like the snaps/clicks/whatever it is either. It's kind of loud, and gets irritating after a while. My opinion.

Indeed, but the instruments still sound to artificial. Pretty boring panning... i don't recommend you to listen to this.

I simply love the feel I get when I listen to this remix... as Zeality said, "you have added another dimension to the concept of Zeal," and when I hear a remix that has accomplished that, it has my interest immediately. great work.

I disagree with dethgrwl.

The synth melody and the violin sound very natural.
Po! plays them smoothly, and it makes a great contrast with
the drums sounding quite mechanical, "square"-programmed.

The e-piano chords change from usual and simple major and minor ones,
that you can ear in a lot of other mix.

(sorry for my too bad english writing...)

This emoticon does not do my feelings justice: :D
I am in love with this song, one of the best I've heard in a while, definitely my favourite CT mix thus far (KLuTz is in another category).
So smooth, shows such musical comprehension, the chord progressions are perfect, the samples are high quality and the variations of the melody are spot on.
10/10 Gorgeous, make more like it!

Okay, I will warn you now, I tend to be unduly harsh on all but the most excellent pieces. However, though it didn't really sound BAD, I honestly did NOT like this piece and cannot recommend it. Good chord progression, yes, good countermelody, yes, but it was, as well as I can describe, lukewarm. Not hot, as is Temporal Distortion and Incredible Singing Robot, nor cold, as in the original Time Circuits or Blue Skies Over Guardia, but somewhere halfway between, and I really don't like that. Once again, I cannot recommend this piece.

God I love this mix

Po does a great job on this one! So laid back, relaxing. I love Po!'s work!

The first part reminds of Thread's of Fate.

In fact this whole song reminds of something. It feels like I know the song even though I've only played Chrono Trigger for 5 mins.

Sure I have heard it over 3 dozen times, but I thought I would say it anyway... po! you can have my #4 baby! 11/10! I may be no music aficiando by any means but something this tasteful and snazzy deserves much greater praise and imitation! Thanks again!

Something this upbeat yet relaxing is really hard to come by, and it's just an overall great theme to mix. 9.5 outta 10 for an awesome rhythm and sweet violin harmony!

I liked this a lot... I put it on the first CD I burned of remixes from this site. Like a lot of people, Time Circuits was one of my favorite VGM tracks ever, and this is a really neat version.

The chords and beat are kind of hip-hop/jazz style, and the violin is a nice touch.

It's got a great groove.

like the rhodes to the past remix, i LOVE this particular sonic choice... these 2 mixes are quite similar, and if you enjoyed this one, try Fatty Acid's Rhodes to the Past remix in the chrono trigger section... VERY similar in leads...

i LOVE this remix's slightly upbeat jazzy feel.. it has that "im happy but not overjoyed, yet slightly relieved" feel to it... great relaxing music

GREAT job po! and keep up the good work

The original was good to, but this one was definitly more happier, if you know what I mean... You donīt? Well listen anyway.

The xylofone in the beginning got my interest from the very beginning, and later one came the calm and soothing synth. I guess everybody already said this 135,7 times, but Iīm saying it again: that violin IS beautiful.

Keep it up po!-dude. 8)

I said I would never write one of these, but this song has compelled me to go back on that promise. Words can't express how much I love this song. The beat is great, the lead synth is awesome, the violin is wonderful, but what really makes this song my favorite OC Remix is the electric piano chords. They add so much depth to the song. Whenever I listen to this song, I feel like it takes me to another place, and that's the highest compliment I can pay to a song. Whenever I want to introduce someone to OCR, this is the song I use. Excellent work po!.

I'm not too good with technicalities in terms of how to rate a song (but I'm learning). I love this song none-the-less. It brought back fond memories. The beat is steady, catchy, and the melody of the song is absolutely dream-like. The synth in my opinion was well arranged, as well as the violin. Best remix of all the "Zeal" ones out there. Keep it coming!

This sounds cliche I know, but this track is absolutely beautiful. The choice of style (modern jazz) complements the exceptional violin playing, and the arrangment is nothing short of amzing. I love how there is a kind of play between the up-beat sound percussion/bass and the mellow acoustics of the violin. The real kicker for me is the fact that even the synth that is used frequently in the peice doesn't distract, but adds to the over all flow.

Amazing. I only wish I'd discovered this piece earlier.

Loved this remix. It's definitely something quiet and sensual. There's definitely something different about that square lead you give the melody to. It's a lot more round...

It would be interesting to hear Guardia's Forest theme in this genre.

Couldn't agree more. Sometimes, I just listen to that violin solo over and over. But then I remember that the rest of the song is awesome too. It's like... catchy elevator music or something. I dunno.

po!'s unique style is portrayed perfectly in this rearrangement, and though a little repetitive, it doesn't disappoint. The beautiful chord structures in combination with the drums and violin turn a classic Chrono Trigger song into a track that is one of my favorites. Nice work.

Delicious chords in this piece. It really gives the song an interesting variety from the original. I've downloaded a lot of CT mixes in the last week (and there are a TON of this particular song) and this one just jumped out at me. I can't describe it, but something about the chords just feels "right".

Great feel to this one, and a really smooth way of representing a pretty classic theme. I'd almost prefer more violin, as those sections were my favorite, but the synth lead was nice too, and the little guitar bends were nice too- very good use of not-so-stellar samples. They are like a seasoning.
This is a really good way to do a remix, with a solid groove, and then pile on lots of excellent details, like the hard panned bells.

Great stuff! :D
