View Full Version : Enabled dual screen by mistake, help!

Somehow my friend screwed up his resolution settings and so basically the problem is that windows are appearing offscreen.

When he tries to go to the resolution settings (right click on desktop, click properties) the properties window appears offscreen so he can't see what the resolution settings are.

Any ideas on how to get things back to normal?

move the monitor cable to the other video output

Windows XP?

Right-click the desktop, click properties.

Press ALT on the keyboard. Press SPACEBAR. Press M. Press the LEFT ARROW KEY. Then move the mouse without clicking.

The Properties dialogue should snap to the mouse. Click to drop it onto the desktop.

Ah, my friend went to best buy Geek Squad. They rebooted the computer, pressing F8 and reset something. (didn't go into safemode that is)
