"These are from the recent Famicase exhibition in Japan, where artists were tasked with coming up with their own imaginary games, then designing the imaginary cart for their imaginary game."

I wish some of these games were real!

I would totally play Argument Champion. I imagine it would be a more chaotic and freeform Phoenix Wright.

I like the two that make fun of common cart problems: 1st one, and 2nd column, 4th row.

I think this post will be the inspiration for my next movie.

Also, I agree that this would make an cool art compo. It would be awesome to see what an OCR game cart would look like.

You can buy little plastic cases shaped like Famicom cartridges. I bought a few of them on clearance from a site a few years ago, and glued down some shelf-liner inside of them to use them as carrying cases for DS/GBA games. They'd make a good canvas for something like this.

Of course, it almost might be easier to just buy a cheap lot of Famicom games off ebay and remove the labels.

Some of the real Famicom cartridges have way better artistic merit to the IMO. But maybe I'm too exposed to them from this one TV show about Famicom games I keep watching.
