I completely agree with DJP when I say this mix is "Godd stuff"!
Seriously though, I think this mix rocks a lot more than some of SGX's mixes, which are awesome in their own different way. Any speak-and-spell uses makes me smile, and this mix as a whole has me grinning ear to ear. Great ReMix!
It's one of my favorites. I've had this since SGX posted the final over 6 months ago. :P

This has been a regular on my playlist since it was originally posted in the WIP forum, and I have been actively watching the "Judges Decisions" forum for this song ever since, probably more eagerly than SGX himself! And then I've heard his 2nd DDR mix that I can only assume he has also submitted... I will be eagerly awaiting that as well.
It's only fair for me to say that when he was originally posting this as a work in progress, I had a few issues with his rapping at one or two points, and those issues are still in effect. The beginning few lines have some "flow" issues, where the words aren't driving enough... there are stuttering hesitations that I wish could have been smoothed out a bit. But besides that... this is great.
Way to go SGX, looking forewards to seeing "A" on OCR too! Here's to your continued success in all that you attempt to accomplish!

I'm a DDR fan and I love this remix!
Rating: 8/10
living in japan, it's pretty easy to find video games such as dance dance revolution, pop'n music, and guitar freaks, drum mania and beatmania.
actually "easy to find" should be replaced with "impossible to miss!".
likewise can be said for their soundtracks. you can go to any store that sells music, and find a song from your favorite dance/beat related video game.
oddly enough, this so-called "video game music" isn't made just for the game.
for instance, in beatmania 4, you can find a good song titled "the race" by an artist known as captain jack.
captain jack doesn't make video game music.
he makes dance music.
i have 2 of his cds.
basically, this is a remix of a real dance song here in japan.
i don't think this blurs the line.
i think it crosses it completely.

Excepting that this song was made by an inhouse group that does music SPECIFICALLY for DDR. They are not a techno dance group, but rather a game music group like any other that we remix. Granted DDR most definitely uses a LOT of music from the commercial world, music that is not DDR exclusive, but this song is.

OMFG I love this song....this is prolly the greatest interpretation of this song that could ever be done....i cant wait til i see another one....that voice is almost haunting.....and the speakan spell was a nice addition too....this rocks....I jsut pulled out my PS1 (dont tell nintendo i sold out) and started playin DDR again....what a song....

I'm pretty sure this song was first introduced on DDR 4th mix.
I agree with the guy that can't wait for the "A" remix by the same person. This one has a good piano thing going for it at the beginning, but I think the rest is pretty repetitive, looking at the different sections the original has that this mix goes into with different samples, the tempo change, and different lyrics (besides some other little nuances) as the only variations. At least, that's what I hear when I listen, being a long listener of the original. Definitely has more variations than what I'm saying.
If this made it, I now fully expect the aforementioned "A" mix from Beatmania IIDX 7th Style (a series being DDR's grandaddy) to be posted sometime. There are way more liberties taken there. The original B4U also plays on 6th Style IIDX, but that was after it was on DDR 4th mix.

Pity that step file (posted above) is for Heavy difficulty only (I'd even hazard it's CHALLENGE difficulty)... I can only do about 6, sometimes 7 step dances, which mostly rests in the Standard difficulty level. Sometimes I think that stepfile makers forget that people still exist who aren't gods at the game yet...
I suppose sincee I'm complaining, I should go and make my own steps for standard and light mode... foo. Hope I can manage something...

What I really liked about this music was the beginning. It was , to say the least, perfect. I loved the piano entry and then it goes into the music and what not. Awesome :D

Allowing this mix might just open the flood gates to the DDR portion of the site. =P All of Naoki's stuff is Konami original, and it's gonna be interesting to see what goes down. But anyway, I am listening to the mix right now and it's really, really good. I wouldn't be surprised if I found this mix on StepMania/DWI within a week.
There is something wonderful about hanging out with your friends at a bad pizza joint in suburban maryland and crowding around the DDR machine, watching two friends duke it out for almost an hour. I might suck at DDR but the energy of the game is dispersed around to the spectators as well, which is why it is so fun and so popular. The music of DDR is filled with energy and fun.
That much said, I love SGX's mixes. As for MC's piano at the beginning of this mix, it is cold as ice, beautiful and fills the time in perfectly leading up to the song, which i have to say, is pretty damn cool.
SGX's lyrics fit the hard beat perfectly. The song itself is a perfect DDR mix. I cant say much against this. My personal favorite part being :20, when the main song comes in.
Great work. This will be on my playlist for some time.

I liked this song, never expected anyone to remix DDR.
Although the rapping at the beggining was a slight bit choppy, and sometimes
too many channels at once, it still comes out sounding pretty professinal. Really a good piece of work, nice job :)

This has been on mah playlist for a good 6 months now, and I still love it. I know all the lyrics and when I rap along, I make sure to sound as white as possible, to capture the feel SGX has. In all seriousness though, I really do love this mix and while I used to think there was too much distortion on the vocals, I've become accustomed to it and wouldn't have it any other way now. Real glad to finally see this on OCR.

Ok man, I absolutely have to give you mad props for trying something as ballsy as this. For the atmosphere and tone of the remix (one of pure fun) it's perfect. Once again you have proven your talent. I look forward to your next remix. I have all of them so far, including the extended Save Me, which I regard as one of the greatest trance mixes ever.

I love the melody in the remix - inspired memories of the first time I passed B4U. :)
In any case, I hope this opens the floodgates to more DDR songs - most songs that are worth their arrows are made by the living god that is Naoki Maeda, so here's hoping.
Hilarious remix, to the least. I loved the original B4U, so this was no exception either. The song is really uniquely mixed - I thought you couldn't make this kind of remixes from DDR songs, maybe because there hasn't been any around. Nevertheless, great stuff SGX!
Oh, about the remixing issue of who one can remix - here's a list of artists that you can (subject to change without notice, personal injuries for body and mind possible); 180, 190´, 200, 270, 290, .3k, Omega, Z, ZZ, Re-Venge / RevenG, De-Sire, 8-bit, 2MB, Naoki, Naoki Underground, mitsu-O! and Luv Unlimited. The list can go on longer, but my mind is numb, because I'm awake at a painstaking 9:30AM, but as far as I remember - all the Konami Originals are DDR-only songs, and what I give respect to -- all the artists listed earlier, plus a lot more, are done by the same person. 8)
Oops, sidetrack! Sorry.

Okay, maybe I'm retarded, or maybe nobody else sees my point, but here it goes.
SGX, I commend you for opening the DDR floodgates. I have been waiting a while for somebody to remix a DDR song, and here it is.
Sadly, I'm dismayed by this mix. B4U is a "get up and dance" type song. It moves you. Even more so for the B4 Za Beat Mix. It's supposed to be fast and filled with energy! This mix needs tempo, I just can't enjoy that song unless it goes so fast.
Congratulations on being the first DDR mixer on OCR, but I just can't enjoy slow music
Am I the only one?

I doubt you are, but I do not agree. Many of my favorite DDR songs are the slower ones. They're fun to dance to, and even more so to listen to. I must say I very much enjoy this mix of B4U, while I do agree that the original is very upbeat, this slower take is very elegant and very enjoyable to hear and to play.

SGX, I'm your biggest fangirl. I love this song, I even memorized the lyrics. I loved it ever since it was released on FFR, and then Arch0wl released the DWI for it for SM.
Great job man.

Heh, so you want more of the same then? I was tryin to do something different with the song. Listen to the original if you want fast. :D

Naoki Maeda = win (There's also KTZ, NM, and many other names he goes by. @.@ )
Anyway, I see this as not so much a song to play DDR to as a song to just listen to. Maybe it would be good as a credits theme or something, but other than that it probably strays farther from the original than any other DDR remix I've heard. This is a nice change.
Do an orion.78 remix! :D

Coupled with stepmania steps, 4f73r m3 is like sex with two people at once. SGX rapping > vanilla ice. gg. Too bad he's not as good at ddr as meh. narb.
Teh song owns tho, and that's all that's important, really.

Awesomeness... I knew I got StepMania for a reason. I couldn't find it anywhere on FFR, though.
EDIT: But I don't think anyone could actually play that step file, given that it's almost completely covered with steps! Either that or my StepMania is just bugging out, but it works fine for everything else.

Mad props echoing most - nice to see some DDRs get remixed.
But I agree with general sentiment. B4U is a get up and dance jam, not really this. But its good, standing alone, nonetheless. Just hard to listen to this then the real song. :)

excellent. i didn't really care much for the original B4U song, but i rather like this remix. perhapse because it's slower? i dunno, it just tickles my taste. good rapping too white boy, lol.
Do an orion.78 remix! :D
dude, i would shit myself. the AMeuro mix of that always has me hopping.
Do an orion.78 remix! :D
Damn. I would crap my pants for such a remix. I'd love to hear what SGX'd would do to that horrible singing :D - for some reason, I just can't stop thinking of the original, which Dhsu's sig image would fit better than a fist in the butt! I mean, look at it (http://personal.utulsa.edu/~david-hsu/dhsu.jpg)! The faceless guy from Spirited Away + orion.78 singing = best combo ever
I've already done 2 ddr mixes which is 1 more than I meant to do in the first place. I usually try to do only 1 mix from a game. If you wanna check out the second mix, its a mix of "A" by DJ Amuro. Its at my website.

Hmmm, I have to say I like that one a lot better.
Am I the only one who can't turn music into lyrics? I think all the non-vocal techno has eroded the speech-parsing parts of my brain :(
Lyrics to this would be greatly appreciated!
S G X somethin somethin somethin... blah :)
Ok, my lyrics:
I've got it on, don't stop me now
SuperGreenX won't make you frown
Check my sounds you know they can't be dissed
there aren't too many that can flow like this
Its thumpin, jumpin at you
and the rhythm is gonna get through
do I need to say any more
tell me what you feel, yo here I go
Jump jump jump, DDR
Yo everybody feel the beat with DDR
Jam jam jam DDR
everybody dance, let's get down
Could it be that you wanna be more like me
no shame, I bring my game, its just me to please
now I'm gonna bust this phat rhyme out
put your hands in the air, move em all around
can you feel the beat down in your soul
don't fight the feeling, just let it go
S G X is bringin it down
I wanna see you move when you hear my sound
The original B4U lyrics (from animelyrics.com)
Let's get it on don't stop us now
When we step on the scene
We came to get down
Check the moves you know they can't be dissed
Ain't 2 many that can flow like this
We humming, coming at ya!
And the rhythm gonna get ya!
Need I, should I say no more
Tell me what the deal?
Yo check my flow!!!
*Jump Jump Jump D.D.R.
Yo everybody feel the beat with D.D.R.
Jam Jam Jam D.D.R.
Everybody dance let's get down
Could it be that you wanna be more like me
No shame, I bring my pain for the year 2 G's
Now we gonna turn this party out
Put your hands in the air move 'em all around
Can you feel the beat down in your soul
Don't fight the feeling just let it go
4, 3, 2, 1 let's count it down
Wanna see you move we you hear that sound
neither versions are that great 8)
I like it, I like it :)
Great job on the whole thing.

Let it be said before I comment any further, I hate rap, and I hate DDR even more. The mix is good and the lyrics from what I am hearing are being brought out quite well considering how shitty they are heh heh. If pretzel is allowed to try and sing I think we can forgive SGX for trying to rap... heh heh. Wonderful piano work and overall a nice feeling brought out with the mix... never heard the original, but I think I can survive with just hearing this mix on my playlist.

SGX, you are hands down one of the best artists on OCR.
I freakin' love this song. I can't get enough of it. I've had it on repeat (along with your other DDR song) in my mp3 player since OCR released it. And since I'm in a half-sober posting mood on a Friday night waiting for 10:00 to roll around, I just felt the need to post this since I happen to be listening to the song right this very minute.
Very very cool. It makes me want to dance around my apartment. Which I'll probably do in a few minutes.
Keep it up (btw, Synesthetic is pretty damn good too!)

I think this song is very well done , imho. Plus the ddr subject material is something that i have not seen as heavily remixed around here. A lot of people don't seem to like ddr very much... well if you don't like it do as SuperGreenX did and make a great remix like his that you like better. So there.

I shouldve downloaded this sooner :P I absolutely love it. The piano intro is majestic. Sequenced amazingly, great job MC. The whole song is great, and even though pretty similar to original, it provides plenty of variation. Lyrics are done well in my opinion. The effects on the lyrics are cool, and in the second half of the song have some cool additions. (dont know really what to call it). Anyway, this is my favorite from SGX, keep it up.

Freakin'.....awesome.
The piano part makes this only 2 times more awesome.
This would sound like some official DDR remix!
Heh, the little step up was just a gimmick to tack on time, eh? :P (Just kidding.)
Also, the part at the beginning sounds a bit like something from FFR.... (the menu system, that is.)
Also, on the suject of DDR songs, on the ReMix page for this, djpretzel mention how most DDR songs are not true game music, does this include the Max series of songs? (Max., MAX300, MaxX Unimited, Legend of Max....)

I believe that all the 10's are konami originals (have you heard of "Z" "ZZ" "omega" or any artists like that) generally DDR songs feel more like they should end at that minute and a half point because they were made to, not just cut short with an ending tacked on (when you hear some of the full versions of DDR songs you know what I mean, Rhythm and Police has a crazt section they had to cut) If you have konamix, the instruction booklet has a list of people who work for konami as well as alternate names for them (up to 5th mix obviously)
Anyways... The song sounds pretty good, the lyrics are as somewhat unintelligible as the orignal (you can pick out some words here and there)... definately a little on the slow energy-less side though, as great as it is a little less filtering on the voice and a touch more energy would have brought it way up... not bad though, definately gonna stay on my harddrive

Whatever version is in Konamix was the basis for this song I think. I'm not really a DDR connosuir (omg spelling) so I don't really know what mix is what.
edit: and to clarify, that version has a key change.

The piano bit at the beginning is some bit...(edited for content - very good ^^) work. Props to MC.
I like how you were able to slow down the original fast-tempoed B4U into the remix. It sounds like an entirely different song, almost, but with enough reliance to show the remix factor. Not that it's a good or bad thing, just noteworthy. I don't think you're relying on the original song too much, and what's the point of a remix if it's an entirely new song? But anyway.
Lyrics... well, okay, they were lame. ^^ But they flowed, I'll give you that.
Complaints? None come to mind. I've been able to listen to it on repeat for a while several times since I downloaded it. Although I dunno, the ending is kinda iffy. Just seems like a cut would've worked better than a fade-out. But that's just me, and nothing that makes it not worth listening to.
Cookie points:
-The "play" before the piano bit was a nice touch.
-Nice spin on the title.

A very nice mix. Smooth combination of piano elements and soulful tempo, this song digs deep into B4U and rearranges it's content, creating a fresh and overall awesome flow. B4U, which was intended to be a body-moving high beat dance song, has been skillfully elevated to a higher level by MC. The remixer has managed to slow the beat to a comfortable level, and transfered key tunes in B4U using new instruments that add impact to the sound. It's is truly an enjoyable listen, even if you are not a DDR player.

I really like this mix. The piano, electronic and otherwise, is well executed, and the rhyming, while a bit cheesy, draws me into the song well. I also though the simple text "S-G-X-X-X, M-C..." was a nice touch. Overall, fun to listen to, and generally cool. A good ReMix for a good song. Highly reccomended, especially for DDR fans.

Love the rapping SGX. I even love the distortion effects over-top of your voice. The techno effects and strings and beats really get the party going.
If only I could have reviewed this at VGmix, I would have given it Stuff of the Legends right there.
A Classic!
EDIT: I think it's the relation of the strings and the beats that hold this mix together. Good stuff.

heh some things i liked in this song: the beginning, the middle, the end. some things i didnt like in this song: *thinks for a few days* ah, the drum beat.... later in the song after SGX says "JUMP JUMP JUMP DDR" theres a wierd little part in the drums.... the drums stop during the JJJDDR part, but then after that they do a little double-triplet-double thing... it just doesnt seem to fit in the song... oh well (sry, im a drummer... i gotta be the best i can be hehe) but hey... this song is still on my 'very strangely large list of extremely good songs' list.... all in all, just get the damn song.

I have to admit I wasn't sure what to expect when listening to this, and I'm still not sure what to think other than I might like this. I had to go back and check against the source because I'm not to familiar with it, and wow... Seeing where it was versus seeing it now. I have to admit this track is highly impressive. This mix of strings and techno works so strangely together and yet works beautifully. To misquote Yahtzee, download and listen to this because you aren't going to find anything else like it.
I didn't frown while listening to this, so I guess that the advertising is legit. I think the string stabs are a little slow on the attack, but this is a really nice rendition to a theme I have spent countless quarters "dancing" to. :-)
Beats sounded good, rapping was passable, and the synths were nice. The transition into the modulation was excellent, and I really dug that double triplet in the drums; it really caught my attention.
Nice work from an awesome mixer. :-)
