Nice stuff! Another FL user that proves his mettle. This mix is a beautiful string orchestral mix that never loses its audience and reminds me of the BG music to the wonderful show Pirates of Dark Water (ergh, or any other pirate show). This mix is cinematic and grandoise, filled with all the pomp and frill that any good orchestral mix should have. The precussion fits in well; the orchestral kit makes good sounds (although that cymbal crash started bugging me slightly towards the end of the mix). Still, this is well produced, well arranged and well met!

It never loses the audience, and it keeps the sense of excitement and adventure alive throughout the whole mix.

Nice work!

Great work Ty, you ol' pirate! 8)

This really captures the sea-faring feel of Wind Waker; nice stuff all around. Great variation, excellent arrangement; everything here's absolutely gorgeous!

You and I should combine efforts and do a Zelda Arrange album. XD

Great stuff! The more I listen to music here, the more I wonder why you guys haven't been recruited for soundtracks. Cinematic, good, and way better than any cookie-cutter movie soundtrack tune.

While people are making the connection to PoDW, I'm going to go ahead and say that when I was talking to Unknown, he talked about this mix as Dragon Roost Isle done in the style of the Pirate of the Caribbean score.

Interesting, because that's exactly what this remix reminded me of.

Yet another really great Wind Waker remix. :D Although I prefer DarkeSword's a bit better, I can definitely see this growing on me. So if I develop any further feelings on it, I'll be sure to let you know.

Actually, that is exactly what it reminded me of (Pirates of the Caribbean), I just didn't state it. I never connected it to PoDW, I only noted that I missed that show.

Unknown, you've done it again. This is Garde from VGMix, a big fan of your Artifact of Power Movements.

I love how the flute begins the mix. It's awesome. You've chosen excellent source material, and changed it quite a bit. This really does sound a lot like Pirates of the Carribean... You really are great at this orchestral stuff man, coordinating all the instruments together to make it feel so epic. I can imagine Link sailing and jumping off of his boat onto Dragon Roost Isle and using his grappling hook (not hookshot) to swing up to a balcony and run into the village to play the mail game (a type of gambling, without losing money :P). I loved the original version of this song, but I'd have to say that this version makes the original look pretty lame...

So... What I'm trying to say is that you kick ass, and I love this mix! :)

There's really not much I can add to what has been said. Well, except for one thing...

I really love how the ending flows right into the intro. I'm listening to it right now, and unless I'm looking, I can't tell where the piece starts and stops. Definitely one of my favorites now. Good job.

Way over my expectations here! I was really expecting a sort of...plain tropical mix or else a weirdo mix of the Pirates' music from Zelda combined with the tropical Dragon Roost Isle. Instead, what I get is this awesome mix! It's amazing, far more than I expected! It's adventurous with great percussion and an addictive melody - great!

Wow, this guy did the Artifact of Power movements? I should have expected more then ;)

I can't believe what I am hearing. Wow! This is by far one of the most fabulous mixes I have ever had the privilage to listen to.

Unknown, you have really gone out your way and made yourself the opposite of what your name applies. In my book, you are what the gaming community needs. Your take on an already awe great arangement is one that all should take notice of.

Its rare these days to find such passion in music, and you my friend have not only captured the essence of Link and his adventures, you trancended the meaning of what it is to be on an adventure. My imagination was on cloud nine while listening to this piece, and I oh so look forward to your future endevors.

I would love to see you and BenCousins get together and see what you two could come up with!

Thanks man/woman! You have truely inspired me to keep doing what I do best. Dreaming. Highly recommended!!! Big Ups!

I have nothing to add to the praise already given (though I care nothing for pirate movies, my evil brother likes that stuff.). Good orchestral mix, but not rigidly symphonic. I especially appreciate the sharp bits of brass in the right channel.

Well whatta ya know, I did have something to say.

This is one awesome mix. Just wanted to point out the in the idv3 tags it says Dragon Rost Island instead of Roost.

The remix is great and definetly has the pirates of the carribean feel. I must say I could tell you were using some free soundfonts but it sounds amazing. I really shouldn't be complaining here but the brass hits didn't sound that realistic, they sound a lot like they were sampled.

This made my day (and my spine tingle). I loved this song from LoZTWW, thanks for the wonderful remix.

I really liked this mix. I stayed true to the orginal song, yet it had a spicier feeling to it. I liked the wide range of instruments and the (conch shell?) opening.

It am suprised that there are only two mixes for The Wind Waker. With all of the great songs in it I figured there would be more. Although, the two that are out now ared both excellent.

Wow.... I don't think I've heard a better flute sample in a long, long time. Sounds like something out of the Banjo-Kazooie games, but that's another story. This one is excellent, sounds right with the Wind Waker theme without being pulled directly from the song, I'd want to play with this song instead of the normal one, always good for a Remix.

I don't like the opening percussion though. Almost sounds like the hits are completely devoid of any kind of beat, plus they almost take away the effect of the incoming higher part due to the randomness of the perc. Works much better after that point though, damn good sampling on the brass too.

I'm a sucker for the 3/4 time used as well and anyone who can effectively use a marimba gets instant points. Great ending too.

I'd much rather have this play when I float in to Dragon Roost than the in game music, frankly. :)

Remixes like this and the only other Wind Waker remix make me wonder why there aren't more Wind Waker mixes.

Absolutely incredible. I love the game, I love this remix...keep it up!!

I was going backwards and just listened to Ubik and Zyko's Asterix (http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR01125) mix, so the beginning of this sounded pretty bland by comparison. :P But this is not a dull piece. No, sir! It's great. I LOVE the piratey feel... it was captured perfectly. YARRRR!

(edit) GOD I love the rhythms. 10/10 just on the rhythms alone! Whoo.

This is so wonderfully done! Definitely in the way of the pirate! Hardly Pirates of Dark Water, but mainly Pirates of the Carribean and it worked! The arrangements were on point and it felt like an epic journey! One of my newer favorites, definitely a beautiful job on this!

:) AWSOME! At first I was like "It's aight." but since I'm an odd person, I like things the more I listen/play/do with them. It happens everytime. Just like when I played Metroid Prime. It was ok at first but really awsome after about a day of playing it!

Wow, I love it! ^_^ Some remixes I must say sometimes I get tired of about halfway through, they just get stale or repetitive to me, but this one I was sad to see end! I've still got the melody in my head, it is quite a sweeping piece that captures the feel of both pirates and Wind Waker in general quite effectively. Definitely a reccomended download.

"He's remixin' aboot pirates. It's BAAAAD luck to be remixin' aboot pirates."

Even though Unknown will soon be gone (what with the pirate's curse and all), this piece of pirate gold will live on on OCR as tribute. The flute in the beginning tells you at once that this is a thrilling, pirate-filled musical voyage. The changeups and the crescendos and decrescendos rise and fall like the deep blue sea, and this mix has swashbuckler written all over it. Beautiful orchestral arrangement filled with adventure. A must have for any OCR fan.

P.S. Sorry about all the Pirates of the Carribean references....but I couldn'd resist, mate. ;P

Wow this was made in FL?! That's 'effin amazing then! Unknown always impresses me. I love WindWaker music and this song only makes me appreciate it more! There's one sound in the begging of the song that sounds like some trance sound effect but that's cool. Awesome job on this Unknown!

Hm, this was a mix that made me think hard about what if this had actually happened in the game. It sounded exactly like what you would hear for an in-game cetimatic about a war between the dark forces of Ganon, versus the resistance on Dragon Roost Island. The whole thing is practically a battle scene cut into different parts. I could easily hear the main melody throughout the mix, and gave a sort of feeling between a fought battle and a fled battle.

Final Grade: 8.5 out of 10

Zera

The way this is composed brings just one word to my mind: Epic. It is like sailing over the vast sea, scaling the great windswept Dragon Roost Mountain, and, as stated before, a prelude to a great siege. I could see this song playing as warriors dig into the ground of the island, prepared for the onslaught of darkness that had overcome Hyrule - no matter how terrible the odds or how dark the day. Yes...the forces of darkness approaching across the sea, prepared to claim the island and it's power...truly magnificent.

You've done outstanding work here; I thank you for all your hard work and encourage you to continue on in such a wonderful fashion.

Can someone please call the New York Philharmonic?! Somehow, you get a perfect picture any sight you can imagine at the sea, whether it be a valiant royal fleet or the uber-cute cel-shaded Link all alone in the blue. All sections of the orchestra fit together perfectly, it's amazing! Just like the symphonies of the classical greats!

Pretty exciting stuff, great arrangement, and some really nice passages keep this interesting throughout. The great dynamics are the icing on this delicious cupcake, and though the samples are mind blowing, they are very well used, and the emotion of the track is pretty clear.

Very strong work, I enjoy it a lot. :-)

splendid work. this is to me just like the original, only moreso. therefore, being that the original is one of my favorite vg songs to date, this mix is excellent. apropos to the game but perfectly capable of standing on its own, this is one mix i shall certainly be visiting repeatedly. well done

I never commented on this mix? Strange.

This mix sits in an interesting area. The arrangement itself is fine, but it does seem to shed a little of the grandiose sound that the original has. It does have some of its own charm to it, but not as much as the great grand feel that the original has. It is a good example of a reinterpretation though, and I'm glad that this mix is around. The song does sound a little on the thin side though - I do wish there was some more instrumentation to it.
