It's been a long time since I've bothered to download a Super Mario World remix, not only have there been a million of them, they never change, so to speak.

Anyhow, I'm giving this one its fair judgement, and I love how calm and relaxing it is. It's the kind of music you would most likely hear in a shopping center, if you think about it. I would even go as far as saying this sounds a bit "Megaman Legends-esque", which is ALWAYS a good thing in my opinion. Good stuff here. :D

MHO: very good sounds choice (choir pads, bells, piano, analog synth bass).

Nice arrangement ! My two thumbs up!

There's nothing mind-blowing here. In terms of relaxing music, it doesn't even compare to Protricity's "Forest Birdcussion."

But as a fan of Mario music, I must say I enjoy this piece very much. Its sounds and feel are almost hinting toward Super Mario 64's Jolly Roger Bay music(which has been remixed several times on this site).

The piano sounds are high quality and I think it adds something to it.

I'm not sure I agree completely with the melody change, even though it's slight. But I guess nothing but the most loyal and hardcore Mario mixes completely please me.

Yummy. Amazing how well this turned out, especially considering that it came from a game with approximately two discrete songs in it. This preserves the feeling of the original excellently, if not doing a better job.

I would just like to say a big think you to djpretzel and all the judges who made this possible.

I appreciate the helpful and interesting comments provided by you guys.

Ok people, love me. :)

I found this to be a nice little mix. While it is on the repeatitive side, it has been perfectly arranged, and the insturmentation is pleasing to the ear. I especally liked the piano that comes in at 1:37, and again at 2:21, which add a little variation to the insturmentation of the first interation of this track.

I hear much of what made spacepony's On a Crystal Star (see if you can find it on the WIP boards) so great, including the samples, which seem to be more refined here than there. But I digress.

The general feel is soothing, which isn't much more than what DJpre .. Actually, it's quite a bit less than what DJPretzel told you. But it's true.

It's an excellent mix, and it does feel somewhat new-age-y, but it is a very excellent piece (Sarah Brightman-ish in a good way). This is what I would most like to listen to while licking a vanilla ice cream cone and sitting in some mineral hot springs at night. And On A Crystal Star should definitely be listenend to whether you like this mix or not!!

Definitely not "spectacular," but, in the words of the Teen Girl Squad, "sooo good!" Mellow music has an entirely different set of criteria for "good" sometimes, but this meets it. Mmm...

I can't think of a thing wrong with this! 8) I just woke up from a full night's sleep and I'll be damned if this doesn't make me want to just get back in bed.

Hell, the only criticism I could think of is, "remix more things!"

Well, it's about time for some more Mario mixes: this one's cool and refreshing--not too involved, yet swimmable. :)

Well there is little I can add but I'll try. The rapid panning effects work nicely in such a slow remix, reminds me of light quickly reflecting off of waves or ripples. The minor (small, not musical) digression from the main melody is not at all out of place, in fact, it's one of the main things that keep the mix afloat (or diving, however ya wanna look at it).
It did indeed sound as if it should belong in a HI-FI 3D Mario game, as PlummerinParadise brought out. (BTW: that guy is sick, do I have to share an avatar with him?)
Beauty-full stuff, keep it up AstroHorse. ... WAIT! Hmmm... :D

In simple words. This mix gives me the exact feeling I had when I was about 8 and I played Zelda: A Link to the Past, for the first time, and heard the music in Kakariko Village, and the overall feeling that town.
I'm no critic on mixes, but i really liked this one, and is really good on repeat.

I love the bass at the beginning (.10) and the very clear - crisp piano around 1:36. This song makes me think of younger years and toadstools.

This is beautiful piece, but it doesn't remind me of any song from any Mario Bros game. I know it's supposed to be of the underwater theme, but it doesn't resemble the origional at all in my opinion. Sorry but I don't really think this is a remix so much as a new, original song made from scratch.

the song is too relaxing and needs to take more incentive

Pros: Emotive retention. Crisp instrumentation. Tonal Balance.

Cons: Cheesy pads. Could use more effects.

Very serene and floaty. The vibrato effects work well for the SMW underwater theme - this most definitely has the water world feeling to it. The last repetition of the bridge starting at 3:07 almost has an outer space feel to it as well.

I liked the counterpoint harmonies and the slight variation of the main theme. Still completely recognizable but with some changes to make it interesting. I liked the arrangement with the piano that begins around 1:39 - the deeper piano tones help give this piece some nice bass.

As others have said, it's a bit on the repetitive side. I didn't care for all the vibration on the 2:21-3:04 segment, it's a little dizzying (can't explain why exactly, but I feel a little motion sick at that segment).

Great pads and bells, it really makes this feel like a nostalgic and dreamy lullaby. Another of the seemingly endless gems that I missed the first 2 times going through all of the remixes. Some of the samples are a little static, and could use some delay to give a greater depth to the mix, but really this is shimmering and beautiful.
I love the melodic changes done to it, and though it repeats a lot, it only enforces the lullaby angle. Fantastic stuff. :-)

Nice airy feel to this song. The quick panning on the pads gets pretty old on headphones, sadly. Fortunately, they don't stick around TOO long to kill the track. I actually do like the basic bass patch. It kind've gives it a real basic, no-frills feel that some of the mario tracks are known for (SMRPG comes to mind). The strings sound real nice after the two minute mark. They blend very well with the pads at that point. I do wish the bell-pads didn't come back with the panning thing later, but it's not a big deal. Nice chilled out track.

Very peaceful and relaxing. The bell chimes are great and the piano has such a good sound. It's just one of those ReMixes I could probably fall asleep to.
