Gears of War 2

i know that this is an rpg-bias forum, but has anyone else picked up gears 2? i turned in fable 2, fable, and another crappy xbox original game and wound up getting money BACK when i bought it, thanks to gamestop's 20% turn-in deal and my card.

i think it's awesome - about as good as the original gears. better vehicular sequences, much more balanced gameplay. too bad shotgun dodging is gone, cause i SUCK at multi now.

and horde is possible the greatest multiplayer experience i've had on xbox live.

The screenshots I've seen for Gears 2 look amazing. I'm picking it up along with Mirror's Edge this weekend, but for now I just can't seem to stop playing Fallout 3.

It was definitely fun, though I felt like I was playing Gears of War 1 the entire time. I guess there's not much room to improve on the original. Co-op makes the game for me. I don't think it's nearly as fun playing it single-player. I haven't had a chance to play multiplayer, since I don't own the game (or a 360 for that matter).

GoW1 feels like a stroll through the park compared to this one. The online is amazing (any mode) as long as you can connect the stupid thing.

played with zeklan for a while today - we did well until he left and my team of four got seperated and rushed by bloodmounts. still made it to level 20 without too much fooling.

I have never had a game make me think "holy shit" so many times in one sitting. My mouth was hanging open for the entire ending scene.

Epic has one of the most amazing art teams in this industry. :shock:

The finale was just an overflowing mass of flesh and blood and manliness. The entire campaign came off as hilarious. In a good way. Just such ridiculous action scenes.

cole's entrance was appropriately epic. i see him even more than marcus in multiplayer.

Multiplayer is AWESOME when i can actually find people to play with. This matchmaking system is terrible.

epic says that they're looking into why it takes so long - and that they're working on it. i still haven't found it to be much worse than halo 3's wait time for matches.

honestly? that's why you use the sticks, not the legacy pad =) seriously, don't return it. i'm terrible at aiming too, and i beat the game.

I'd love to play some matches online, but it seems impossible to get a game going. :\

Right now, the only thing to do is connect, disconnect, connect, etc etc. If you wait 20 seconds, then that means you should refresh.

they're still working on it, but supposedly they identified the issue and are working on fixing it.
