Simple piano, simple drumloop, simple accompaniment. Simple altogether. Much of the original composition is left out; while subtractive arrangement works, this arrangement is simply subtractive, without any benefits. On a less technical note, it also just sounds dull, and the poor mixing of that drumloop doesn't help.

High quality samples sound nice, but without any piano skills or understandings of sustain pedals, they end up sounding very fake/amateur. Other than that, this is a rather simplified version of the original + a lame drumloop. Cmon.

i agree that the piano sounds dry and lifeless.

the arrangement isn't bad to listen to, but it doesn't bring much new to the table.

i really don't like the string lead, and those bends sound especially awkward.

I'm gonna have to agree on this one. I've heard good Mustin and this doesn't sound like it. And while I respect the constant striving to use instruments in new and innovative ways, I really don't feel this combination meshes well. The piano IS very dry and while there are definite articulations in velocity, it's not much. The pitch bends ARE a bit queer, for the most part with one or two that sound natural. I don't see that this arrangement brings enough new or exciting to the table to pass it. And the part about it being boring, while a bit subjective, I feel, applies well. Sorry.
