Let me just say, when I first started listening to this, it sounded like it would be long and borring, but then around 0:37 It started getting good.
And then I'm started to get the hang of the tune, and now I remember it, you see, I don't play MegaMan 2 that much, so I only have 2 OCRs of it.
But this one is a very good one, I gave it a 5/5 on my iTunes/iPod.
And so I give this a 9.5/10 Very UBER!
This is my first rating of a remix btw >_>;
Keep up the good work. =D

That solo choral patch used is amazing, and really makes this song something special.
A lot of Dr. Wily Castle 1 remixes are heavy, fast, and generally all the same and usually boring. But this one and Dr. Wilys wedding are both really awesome, since their slow style really deviates from the original.

I really liked this stuff, I don´t think that anyone has mentioned how tasteful the dynamics of the piano is. So I´ll do that...
Very tasteful dynamics in the piano.
The rhythmic flangered pattern in the background is sweet also. Reminds me of my old Roland JV2080, which I swapped for a classical guitar. Hard decision!
And if the author of the mix reads this: What IS that vocalpatch?! I absolutely adore it and would like to lay my hands on it.
Very nice job

Well, actually the megaman 2 wily 1 -remix I like the most is perhaps the mosh pit remix, and Wily's wedding, being more like this one, is also a bit better than this, but this isn't bad either.
I enjoyed the heck out of this one -- definite keeper. This definately gets an A+ for feel. Sound choice and overall style are just top notch.
The repetitiveness really didn't bother me at all, although I do agree with DJP that the key change at the end was a kinda iffy. It's not a bad concept, but it's too sudden; there's nothing there musically to introduce the key change.
Great stuff!
:nicework:
Edit:
Are we sure the remixer is male? I mean, the name is Joni, and the handle is SEDUCTION. Just wondering if this wasn't one of those flubs made just because there are so few female remixers...

Though I may not have mixed this song down exactly the way he did, and it indeed could have been cut down just a tad, this one of the most original remixes on the site.
The delayed piano is briliantly utiltized and it's quite amazing to see someone actually succeed in remixing this MM tune after so many have tried, with few succeeding. This is excellent work, and I hope he remixes more in the future.
J_Lidar2k51

I gotta disagree with DJP on the comment of repetitive. I ravenously listen to the MM remixes, and I will admit some of those do get redundant, but this one is not one of them. It has great flow, overlays enough different stuff around that it doesn't seem to repeat but more to just continue bringing new things as it progresses.
Hot stuff, gimme s'more ;)

Being the first megaman remix I've ever heard, I review this song as unbiased as there is possible.
I love it, the singing style thing in there is perfect, along with the piano and flange-synth. This is a masterpiece, it just sounds in parts like it's missing something, like the main instrument isn't held down long enough.
But I love it.
As I said to a friend:
"this is the kind of music you have playing while making love to a fine piece of cheese."
Cadmus
05-22-2004, 10:26 PM
definitely a solid remix. this is a tune you can love even if you've never even heard of mega man. the piano and choir voices are beautifully done. the key change at the end would not work at all IF the choir voice didn't lead it, but with the voice i think it works just fine.

It's true, that one choral part is very distinctive.
It stuck out the second I heard it.
I wasn't particularly feeling it myself though.
It does fit in with the rest of the song quite nicely, but it just sounded like a cheesy ghost wail to me.

I've been slacking when it comes to reviewing lately.
I really like this. Really downtempo, which is so ideal for the mood I'm in at the moment - that kind of, getting late on a Saturday night, had a few beers, just sitting in the dark enjoying the setting mood.
I don't know if it's my familiarity with the MM2 soundtrack that's doing it, but this song is really easy to follow in your head. When I heard it for the first time, I could almost predict what sounds would be coming up. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the choral part, not because it sounds bad, but because it's kind of a tease. You know, you get that really rippin' bit at the beginning and you're left wanting to hear it throughout the song, and all you get is a little more towards the end. But listening to the piece a few times, it makes sense, and all in all, it comes out really nice.
Gold star.

Meh i dont really play megaman games...mabye the formula got to old for me or something so i dont know the original song of this.
Other than the actual song it sounds like something you'd hear at the begining of an anime cartoon or something. The name Seduction is also a great name because when this song stopped i just wanted to keep listening. A nice slow tempo with a good piano when it kicks in. Its also one of those beats that get stuck in your head so one day when your just messing around you'll start going "do do do doo DO DO!" Normal I dont like these kind of slow tempo songs but im going to make an exception for this.
Final Score:8/10
Final Comment:Even of you dont like this style of music it STILL sounds good

I liked the voice sample very much. I've never heard anything like it.
And I liked the key change. Didn't bother me at all.
Everyone has already put in a better analysis than I could, and I don't really feel like repeating them, so I'll leave it at the most important thing:
It's a damn fine piece of music.

You know, I really suck at MegaMan games, but I must say this and that "Tickle my Wily" song are two of my favorite Remixes. Even if they are the same song done different ways.
Game music rocks. Remixes rock harder.

The piano has some dynamics behind it, but it's drowned out by the excessive delay and ends up sounding more mechanical than it should. The vocal sample is certainly unique, but I have mixed feelings about whether it meshes well with everything else or not - it's kind of akward and synthy, but it's interesting enough to be appealing. The orchestra stabs are too dark and attack a little too gradually, though: the sample being used doesn't fit in the way I think the artist intended it to. And the guitar sample isn't horrible, but it's somewhat mechanical and I think something a little more believable would work much better (or an actual guitar).
Some of the bass/drum work is pretty cool like around 3:05, but it's mostly just very repetitive. As is pretty much everything part being played: it has nice elements to it, but I really don't think it's a complete arrangement.

This is a good piece. At first I didn´t think much of it, but now I listened to it again and it works. I like it, but somehow I think that this remix has more to offer. There´s something missing, this needs more EDGE. I don´t know what I mean, but I feel like this just doesn´t build up to its potential.
But then again this is a moody song and works fine the way it is, calm and simple and without any bigger tricks up its sleeves. Maybe this has just been heard too many times (Dr Wily theme AND the bombastic piano/strings/hiphopbeat-moody style). AND just to split hairs here, the piano needs more groove. Now it sounds like sequenced and maybe a bit lifeless. BUT thats not an issue really.
But good work all in all. No one can deny that.

Very nice remix. This is one of my favorite songs from the megaman series. The length of the remix was just right, unlike Dr. Wily's Wedding which is a bit too short. A+ work, keep it up.

I lose the count of how many times I heard this song.
The piano delay fullfill every part of the song and was very good choice, given much energy for the piano.
The vocal made a good signature for the remix.
Drums, guitar and synth participate without being boring, execute the flows and transitions very well.

Excellent tune. Quality material. The Secret of Mana'ish piano is spellbinding, coupled with the live vocals. I am the first to not like the synth-guitarish sound, but that is just a personal bias, it works fine in the song. One day a remix with a live electric guitar could possibly put this in another league, which would be a difficult feat considering how nice it already is. I don't think my personal bias should affect my review of the tune, and it is definitely a 10/10 mix. Kudos!

A song full of emotion and groove. I think people need to 'chillout' and take this song in with a big breath.
Those vocals... they creep me out and amaze me at the same time. Sounds like a wolf! ooohw.
This mix is good sleepy time music, sad music, relax music, chill music etc.
9.7/10
Absolutely amazing. I don't know what prompted you to execute vocal chords in this track, but it works impeccably. The over all vibe is somewhat of an eerie, tranquil feeling.
Hats' off to you SEDUCTiON.

No Huhhuh.Äijällä on näkemystä.
I was (tired)arriving from Rovaniemi to Helsinki(Both in Finland) with train and in Lapland there
was this ruska(donnow what is it in english :?: ,leaves of the trees turn yellow and red)thing going on and I was sitting in the train and watching the this beatiful but melancholy landscape rolling by and listening this from my laptop.
There are these perfect moments in life when you are in your own
"bubble" and everything else escapes and you just hope that the bubble lasts a little longer before it pops. I had that moment in the train with this song and when the guitar comes out near the end...especially then everything was in it's place for that moment. I don't know did you intent to have a little finnish melancholy in the song, but I must admid that there it is. And I love it :D :D

I admit the style isn't for everyone. Many people I know said they didn't care for how slow it was, or the choral part...
But i can say without hesitation that this is my personal favorite OC Remix and a fantastic song that makes any list of great songs i have currently playing in my car. It strays far enough from the original song to be called its own beast, and I am very grateful it made its way to the Internet for me to enjoy.

I've mostly been exposed to some aggresive, fast-paced mixes of this particular theme. It's a nice...next to heavenly change to the whole "wily" concept. the harmony, the vocals, the guitar arrangements...just simply awesome. :D

Dude, this is totally chill man. A remix of a song that is totally different to this remix. Instead of annoying megaman noises, there are a beautiful piano which is playing along with a nice guitar arrangement together with beats in the back giving the smooth feeling that this mix is all about. This is a great remix from seduction, and I Think it´s best to follow his advice: Chill out. 8)

For some odd reason, slightly less than a minute into this piece, I can't help but feel like I want to just get up and dance and sway to it, being pushed around by the wind and the pulse of my own blood, away from others' eyes and thoughts, simply enjoying the sad energy in it. It starts about 0:55, picking up more at 1:14, then rising and falling several times as the music's intensity changes pace and focus. The slowdown just after the three minute mark is a bit of a let-down, but not entirely unwanted, as it offers its own feel and movement.
This isn't a dance piece, yet it simply makes me want to turn up the volume, kick up the bass a bit, and move. What I really feel from this piece is a "get up and dance, if only because you can" type of energy.
As for the comments about its repetition, it is, but in the way in which a glass of wine is. Though one may have several glasses of wine, spread over time or at once, it never really becomes dull or tasteless.
My only complaint is that the piece ends somewhat suddenly, in the middle of a line, as if it were cut off.
A wonderful piece, SEDUCTiON, and I hope that you return with other mixes some day.
Be Well, and Blessed Be.

i don't know if it's just me,but this would sound great wit someone singing a sad love ballad to it or somethin. makes me think of the theme from kingdom hearts.
my question is: why is it that asian girls can sing so beautifully to music like this? on a track like this, a white girl wouldn't fit cuz white girls tend to whine when they sing,a black girl wouldn't do it justice either, but u get an asian girl to sing on a track like this and Bam! i'd listen to this all the time. but that's just me. i'm lovin this track, especially the choral thing, it comes in at just the right moments. i wish i could come up wit some lyrics to this, but i don't really rap like that. anyways, good work! holy sweet ****. This is amazing. It's one of the only remixes that I literally dance to (albeit I look like Elaine from Seinfeld whilst doing so). This is truly an amazing song. I love the vocals and strong piano. Probably one of the things I love most about this song is how it's in a game type that's dominated by hardcore techno beats. Since i'm not much of a techno fan, you hit the nail on the head. djpretzel was right about the change near the end, but whatever, all is forgotten. You're very talented, and it breaks my heart that you only have one vg remix here. I bow to thee.

The vocals make the piece for me. After the first round of the singing, I spend the rest of the song waiting for it to return. The singing reminds me vividly of Princess Mononoke, and brings the beautiful imagery of that film to my mind. I've seen people bashing the chord change near the end, but I love it. It ramps up the intensity, and paired with the vocals that kick in, it sounds almost tragic. I love it. :-P

Hello, It's Joni here.
It's been almost 5 years since I made this and I, again, thank you all for your comments.
In the past 5 years I've had some radical changes in my life and so the composing has been non-existant, literally. But now I've been putting my life together again and found some new inspiration for my music, so you can expect some new remixes in few months :)
To ppl asking for Megaman 2 sheet music:
I don't have the sheet music, I made this entirely by ear. I would somehow transform this song to sheet if I could, but unfortunately the .rns(Reason song file) was destroyed along with my old HDD :(
Sincerely,

Hey ppl...
As you already noticed, I haven't kept my promise to upload a new song in the past few months(since my last post).
The thing is I've lost my creativity. I can't create music with emotion anymore. I've done couple of songs but they just don't meet my standards, so I have not uploaded them. When I made megaman 2 chillout remix, I was 16 years old and MADLY in love and that relationship crashed as fast as it started. I would give anything for her to even listen to me nowadays. And for the "radical changes in my life", they include jail, homelessness and therapy. I've been putting my life together and I am sorry for ppl waiting for new songs. Sorry.
There's no other song on here i've heard as many times as this one. Sounds like you've been through some really tough times though. I hope you get through it. Don't give up on your creativity. It might return when you least expect it.

Sounds like a whirlwind... at the same time it sounds like it's filled with emotions (though probably not love). Don't give up. Try to add more "colors" to your palette by drawing on your life experiences and see what you can come up with. Don't worry about anybody waiting.. it should really be all about you when it comes to what you make - when you're ready, your public will be there.

Aye, you're right. I read Mr. Belmont reference SEDUCTiON a while back and forgot. Love it, but still stand by my Muppets comment.
That vocal sample is siiiiick, and really helps sell this otherwise conservative arrangement. The production and soundscape is really nice, and though it's mostly just a sound upgrade, it's a really good one.
