Wow. Can this night get any better? McVaffe is my fav. remixer, and this track lives up to my high expectations. I sincerely hope he continues to send through the occasional mix, as this one truly exhibits his staying power. Fantastic.

Very very nice. I liked everything about this mix. The drums were great in the middle of the song. Yeah im not doing too good right now for words, too tired, but this was awesome. Great work man.

Great percussion. The general atmosphere is wonderful. Very flowing, something I like. Props for the instrumentation, as well. Quite catchy...good stuff. What would we do without the repeat button?

I'm gonna guess and say the last mix of the night is by DJPretzel himself. I hope so anyways. Already got some other great mixes by some great mixers...a night to be remembered.

McVaffe, sir, you never cease to amaze me. This is a phenomenal mix.

I love the time-signature change at 1:47...it provides a cool little jump out of the norm. And the variation on the theme beginning at 2:40(is that you playing the piano?) makes a perfect transition into the Light World theme. Instrumentation is top-notch as always.

It's wonderful to see another entry from you, and though it's understandable that you have other time constraints, I hope to see more from you in the future. You are truly a master at your craft. ^^

Wow, several mixes by some of my favorite remixers tonight. I'm very happy! Anyway, as expected this is a great mix, McVaffe. You are truly a master!! This mix is so mellow and soothing; I could leave it on for hours and not get tired of it. Yet it's also quite complex, as DJP said, the details are where it's at. Thanks for making this great mix, and we can only hope for more if you have the time!

Wow, I was definitely not expecting a mix like this. Much less a mix of the Dark World theme. Excellent job on this.. I really love the choice of soundfonts and their well placements. The beat comes on pretty heavy, and the little section that skips a bit caught me off guard as I heard it. Wow; McVaffe, you've really outdone yourself working on this one. Hopefully what DJ Pretzel says is not true.. We always need some talented and respectable mixers. Thanks for bringing this great stuff to the table. 8O

Edit: Wow, it even goes into the ending theme which has never been remixed on OCR before.. Has it? Excellent coverage here.. Why aren't people mixing it more often? Thanks for satisfying me completely! 8)

Very nice take on the Darkworld theme in the beginning. Just an extraordinary song overall.

But most of all, I'm just happy to see that McVaffe is still making great music. :)

Ah, great. Now Prot, DD, and McVaffe have to duke it out in hand-to-hand combat, to see who becomes my new god. Seriously, this is most definately the best night for remixes ever (with maybe one exception). I'm honoured to be given the privilage to listen to this stuff. I love you all so very much. Congratulations to all involved in launching OCR4.

To begin with, I thought I was about to hear another Zeal remix, but then the familiar Dark World theme came in and I just sat and enjoyed the ride. The bells in the background are quite nice, and I liked the synth coming in.

Cool remix. I enjoy it a lot.

This song should have a warning on it..."Do not listen to this song after eating lunch."

I could just go to sleep and dream of the TriForce while listening to this wonderful piece...or should I say...Peace.

Relaxing beyond belief, extremely high quality. Another winner from McVaffe!

MacVaffe mix! McVaffe mix! McVaffe mix!
Erm, yes. I think we get the idea, yes?
More seriously, When I downloaded this, I was awaiting a make-me-fall-out-of-my-chair piano mix. What I got instead, was a wonderful arrangement. The percus (sorry for using the french term, but I don't know the English word for generic drums), so's the harp/flute thing (my musical knowledge isn't that great) and of course, the piano r0xx0rz your b0xx0rz. This just feels so right.
I have only one thing to say. McVaffe, go get yourself hired my Myamoto, now.

This remix is like opening a present, finding something great in the box and another present wrapped inside the first one with equally awesome contents. Not only does this piece deliver an excellent Dark World remix, but it also comes packed with (finally!) a remix of the LttP credits theme, which itself contains elements of the classic Zelda overworld theme. Highly recommended, any one of these elements would be excellent, but together they are nigh unstoppable.

I was thinking to myself 'how can you even compare to Triforce Majure?', but this is friggin McVaffe, why did I even have any doubts, while I can't really write a read-along review like I did with DD's remix, I just love the way these two Zelda remixes contrast each other. Dan's being powerful and epic, and McVaffe's being somber and elegant, almost like one portrays the dungeons of Zelda, while the other is exploring the corners of Hyrule or Termina.

Love the little ocarina'd main theme at 4:00'ish. Most of this mix makes me think of Link heading down to LonLon ranch and making out with Malon . Or Link venturing to a land with strange creatures who have even stranger customs when they welcome him to their land.

Bravo.

I'm going to do this review as a stream of conciousness as I listen to the song.

0'00"- "Huh?"
0'26"- "This is different..."
0'57"- "Whoa, this is different." *begins bobbing head*
1'47"- "Nice tempo variation."
2'42"- "Damn, that's some fine piano."
3'51"- "Oh man, this is amazing."
4'41"- "He's done it again, god damn it."
5'42"- "No. It can't be over. No..."
5'54"- "My life suddenly feels without meaning."

Another amazing arrangement by McVaffe. The blending of wind and piano is seamless and soothing, and the percussion draws you in quickly. There's some nice tempo mixing, and this piece is layered in spades. I really don't know how he can do such amazing work. And he never fails to deliver. McVaffe is easily my favorite remixer, and this is why. Every so often, I'll download a song and immediately I know that it has to go on my playlists. This is one of them. Thank you for being so brilliant, McVaffe.

Interesting. These songs aren't remixed nearly enough (except the main theme naturally).

I like the intro, it kind of throws you off as to what's coming. I don't think I've heard the Darkworld theme played like that before. Neat. I like the heavier beat that comed in, as well as the choral backups.

The outro music is very well played (and the transition from Darkworld works very well). It works as a very nice intro (ironically) to the main theme.

All in all a very nice little medly.

Awesome.

Even if he didn't attach his name to this piece, this song just screams McVaffe at the top of it's lungs. It's everything a great mix should be, showing signs of both traditional and modern music. A combination that requires precise timing and alot of fine tuning.

McVaffe has done it again. This is just flat out awesome.

I usually don't review songs unless asked to do so (or hinted to do so) by the remixer, but this is an exception. 4 years ago, when I was looking for video game midis, I came across a site called RPGamer (I was new to the internet, and so I didn't know about all the RPG sites and all that stuff). Anyways, there, I found a lot of remixes submitted by people, some sucked, while others were really good. McVaffe submitted his stuff there, and I took a look at his site which was provided next to a link to one of his songs. There, I read up about how he got into mixing and about OCR. When I read about OCR, my eyes lit up and I then spent hours every day downloading remixes on my Mac (I am now on a PC), unfortunately I don't have a lot of the older stuff that had a lot of memories.

I've never written a review for your stuff, but I've always been a big fan of what you make, McVaffe. You led me to OCR without ever knowing who I was, and I can't thank you enough. Although I'm no longer a regular around here, I was able to meet some of the coolest people I'll ever see, and I was able to get some of the best music I'll ever hear (in my humble opinion). This review is a tribute to what you've done for me.

Now onto the review...

As several people know, I am an avid LoZ fan, especially a big fan of ALttP (I'm such a freak that I beat it in under 7 hours and in one sitting without dying, saving, eating, peeing, or anything else). The game you chose, and the songs you chose could not be less perfect. The Darkworld theme, the credits, and the original theme that started the entire series... Some of the best songs from the Zelda series...

As I mentioned earlier, I'm a big fan of your style, and this really is an incredible song. I'm not sure if it's your best, but it is DEFINITELY up there, and I am in love with this song. It's so calm, the transitions are perfect, and everything just works really well. Those bells are awesome, and it gives it a really nice effect. Your beat is incredible and the break at 1:05-1:06 is a nice touch. The first time I thought WinAMP was freezing , but I quickly put it back and realized it was not my computer or WinAMP .

Your instrumentation is incredible. I've always had a soft spot for flutes, and your flute is no exception. Your flute sounds incredible, and that piano does as well... Those strings work really well, and the woodwinds used to play the main theme sound beautiful. I'm so amazed with this mix... It's perfect... I can't pick up on anything wrong with it at all.

Excellent job, McVaffe. One of your best pieces yet, if not your best. This is a great way to start off OCR4 :). I'm sorry to hear that you most likely have no intention of making more remixes :(, but I understand the situation of moving on to more important things in life. Good luck with whatever you are doing/going to do, I'm sure that if you spend as much time and effort as you have with your music, you will be sure to succeed in whatever it is that you do.

Have peace.

Edit: One last thing I'd like to add. Not very many songs bring tears to my eyes, but this one did. I know of maybe 3 or 4 other remixes that have done this, and I just wanted to say that this song is really beautiful. Those bells or whatever kind of chromatic percussion it is, that flute, the piano, and just the whole damn instrumentation is so incredible that it made my eyes water... Very few songs can pull that kind of emotion from me... Amazing, McVaffe... Amazing...

McVaffe, your work, as always, is gorgeous. The transition at 1:45 is very nice. Over all, this is a very clean-sounding mix, and like all of your other work, is not only enjoyed by myself but the entire OC Community as well. Thanks for giving us another masterpiece.

First it was Forest Birdcussion by the one and only Protricity2k. Now, this MOFO makes this? What do I mean you say? Both songs made my jaw drop. McVaffe's first 2004 remix (of many many more I hope) had me hooked like a glove. I had been a fan of his work, but this epic remix ranks equally now along side my favorite remix at tis site, Forest Birdcussion. GOOD JOB.

Awesome! At first, I thought this was just a novel interpretation of the dark world theme. Cool samples, excellent arrangement, etc. Like djp said, it made Zelda sound like Zeal. Neat.

But then... then the volume dropped and the credits theme kicked in. I confess that I got a little misty-eyed over here. This is probably my all-time favorite piece of videogame music, and it did my cold, withered heart good to finally see it on OCR. Classic McVaffe piano paired with those phat beatz the kids are so fond of today. It just doesn't get much better than that. The track's been looping ever since. Thanks for submitting this, McVaffe. While I'm at it... thanks for creating such a great site, djp.

I know I'll get around to downloading the rest of the tracks that were posted today, but I don't think I've quite heard my fill of this one yet. :)

Although this takes a backseat to Disco Dan's new LttP remix, it is still brilliant in its own right. A great mix that goes beyond just the Dark World theme. My favorite McVaffe remix is still Tetris's "McVaffeQuasi Ultimix", though.

For the record, neither McV nor myself were aware of the others' intentions of remixing zelda 3 pieces. And I'm glad we weren't. Because this is quite beautiful and haunting. McV has never had trouble picking instruments that sound right together and then writing GOOD parts for them, and this is no exception. Nice time signature changes also. From 4/4 to 5/4 to 3/4 to 6/4. And I only wish I had beaten this game more recently, 'cause I don't recognize that ending theme for the life of me. Beautiful regardless. A seamless mix of styles. Awesome ending. I feel like I'm not saying exactly what I'm meaning here, so I'll cut it short. But seriously. Great work Vaf. Glad to see you've still got time to sound awesome!

This piece is utterly amazing. The drums are varied and always perfect, the transitions are oh-so-smooth, and the changes in tempo are eternally appropriate. This remix really reminds me why I love the Zelda series so much.

Anyway, TheDarknessandtheLight is easily my favorite new mix of this year. It's an emotional piece that really exemplifies the Zelda series perfectly. McVaffe, thanks for creating a superb arrangement; whenever I think of Zelda: A Link to the Past, I'll definitely hear this in my head.

I was excited when I saw we had something new from McVaffe. If we don't hear from him again in awhile (which seems likely), this is still a good note to go off on. Absolutely awesome mix. It's been awhile since we've gotten some good Zelda 3 love, and now we have two amazing mixes posted in the same day. It's no unappreciated.

I really liekd the tak eonthe darkworld them at the begginning. the take on the main theme at the end was great too but that middle segment..the end credits....frankly.. it can only be described as legendary. WOW! This is incredible! Not only is is a awesome arrangement of favorite Koji Kondo theme ("Dark World"), but it seemlessly blends with the excellent Credits theme and famous Light World theme. The instruments are spec-tacular! I want to hear more instruments like these. Man, I can't give a review worthy of this. Just take a listen and enjoy it yourself. :D

Any chance of somebody hooking me up with a higher-quality version of this song? (I'm talking bitrate here.) I'll even take the raw WAV if somebody has it.

I practically died when I saw a new McVaffe mix up on the front page when OCR4 went live. McVaffe is my favorite remixer by a long shot, and as I've mentioned in other reviews, I pretty much *expect* each new song I hear by him to be kickass. And from his remixes, to his original stuff, and to this new release, he has never failed to be awesome.

This is a really fantastic medley, with the usual superb, well-implemented choice of instruments. The time signature changes and transition are well done, and the flow of the song is never broken. It's rare to hear someone use meaty drums with a full orchestral suite and ethnic percussion, but somehow, McVaffe does it, and does it well. Not only is the arrangement most excellent, really bringing out the best in the original themes and varying them, but the execution is flawless.

two thumbs up!

This kicks Disco Dan's new remix's ass! ;)

It's not perfect, though. I would have used a different instrument for the flute part, just because the looping on that sample is very repetitious and sort of annoying. It's a very good mix!

Man, I didnt have access to the internet for almost two weeks, and I come back and the site has its new layout AND there are a ton of new mixes by wonderful remixers. Naturally, after seeing that McVaffe had a new mix up I downloaded it right away. What's really awesome is parts of it were in the McV 2003 preview so it was cool hearing the full length song. The bells are really cool, it gives it a unique feel. The whole song is smooth, and the parts fit together nicely. The song is laid back and relaxing, sounds reminescent(sp?). Awesome work as usual Mike, I'm so glad you got around to doing this.

When I saw that McVaffe was back, and that it was with some LTTP stuff(one of my favorate Zelda games easily), that along with all the other new stuff on the site made me want to cream my pants. Even better, it includes the credit roll theme which I've desperately wanted someone to remix forever. This is absolutely beatiful, the drums are really cool, the flute and piano sound awesome, and the arrangement is jaw dropping. This is easily the best new remix I've heard in a while(although KRool Intentions also owns my life).

It really says something when a single remix can inspire even the laziest person to undergo that annoying process called 'registration'. Despite the fact that I've visited this site for who knows how long, and am indeed a hardcore groupie for McVaffe, this remix just tops it all off for me. I can't sit aside and pass up the chance of commenting on his pure genius any longer. Excellent, excellent listening. I'm not being biased, either, his remixing is simply amazing! I'm not very good at critiquing, but can assuredly reflect my personal opinion for this lovely collaboration of sound. I was wondering when I'd see your name on the updates page again! Thank you for this heavenly addition to my ever-growing video game MP3 list ;-). When can we get married?

I really can't say anything other than what everyone else has said--this is a gorgeous remix, hands down. I've only been surfing around OCR for about a week, but I've quickly come to the conclusion that McVaffe is a god.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of the ending theme of the game, which I love and unfortunately don't get to hear much anymore since I'm usually away from my system. The transitions between sections are flawless, and just... wow. Excellent, excellent remix here.

Am I the only one who sees this?

I can picture this music being used in a movie in two difference scenarios...mostly when the music hits 2:40

One: Used for one of them endings to a movie that gets so emotional it makes even grown men cry.

two: Used in a flashback towards the end of a movie when a main character dies and all the other characters start remembering the good ole days with the character...and a lot of things are moving in semi slow motion and everyone is happy.

Maybe it's just me...but anyway, McVaffe did one hell of a great job on this mix, but that's no surprise :)

man this is exactly what i thought of when listening to this song. this entire piece can qualify as the ending music to the next zelda game. imagine this piece playing on the background while we see some ending scenes of zelda (about time we have a satisfying 6min ending instead of the usual 60 second ones). damn McVaffe, email your resume with this remix attached and Miyamoto-san will hire you in a heart beat.

Upon further review, I have deemed that this piece is still amazing, and easily in the top five of the 200 songs I have downloaded from this site. And ater listening to it, oh... 40 times now, I've figured out why this is such a wonderful piece. It's powerfully evocative, an emotional intensifier. If I'm happy when I listen to this song, life is good. If I'm down when I listen to this song, it will make me cry. It's hard to do that. Really hard. But McVaffe continues to make it look easy. Hats off to McVaffe.

I really loved this remix! Everything is perfect! The transition between the songs are magnificient and the choice of the songs was absolutly brilliant! There is one thing though that I considered to be not corrected, but noticed for futures remix: the drum beat in the background is always the same, no matter what is the symphony playing.........Except that, the song is just fabulous! Good job!

Beautiful song. I'm a huge fan of musicians who are able to blend light and dark tones in one piece, and this is one remix that deserves several listens before it can be completely appreciated. From the sparse intro, the transition is so smooth that you don't even notice how atmospheric and rich it has become until you're completely enveloped in it.

I don't normally comment on the ReMixes here but I couldn't not compliment you, McVaffe. Thanks.

From my last comment here, my affection towards this song has only grown. I've copied it to my 3300 and listened to it when travelling on public transport and watching the summery scenery. There is something special about this song that makes me feel the phantasy in the Zelda series so close, as if I were in the mythical world of Hyrule myself. It's an eerie feeling that makes me think about a perfect Zelda game with vast forests and neverending possibilities... :)

Uh... That sounded kinda no-life. Any way, great piece. http://www.vesabbs.com/images/smiles/applause.gif We want more! http://koti.welho.com/jhiden/pics/jogismileys/resp.jpg

As much of a fan as I am of McVaffe and Zelda, especially ALttP, this song wasn't a fast hitter for me. It took me two listens to say "Hey, that's a pretty neat concept." What I didn't like was the chime/bell thingies in the beginning. The melody they play is cool, but the sound just isn't...fluid with rest of the song. Also, the change in tempo and such at 1:50 was odd at first, but that was just because it was unexpected. After another listen, again, it sounded really cool. One thing I did really like about it is the mellow tempo and general vibe that the flute gave off. And the transition to the credit music was a really, really nice touch. I've always loved that theme, and the way it's remixed here is splendid. So, overall, I'd give it an 8/10. Not the best, but still pretty damn good. Way to go McVaffe.

Honestly, i think McVaffe's stuff, could be played on the radio. in fact, i'm a DJ for a online radio station called Digital Evolution Radio. i'll be PMing DJP in a few about possibly being able to stream some OCR's

At first I really didn't like this mix at all, but then I listened to it a few more times and it really started to grow on me. This is a beautiful mix with a lot of depth, great job :o

This piece is full of transitions and changes in time signature and it still comes together very well. While I agree that the piano part is very emotional, my favorite part is in the beginning. The far Eastern touch here really makes me imagine Link in the dark world for the first time, where everything looks strange and foreign to him. And it's not too often when an OC Remix paints a very vivid picture of the game for me. Another job well done by McVaffe.

I love this song and i love this remix but at 1:47 the timing is off and it just bugs me

I really like this song. My system is tweaked in a special fashion that, imho, makes music sound the way I want it to sound - and this piece hits it perfectly. Good strong bass, nice familiar melody... I like it.

A+

I wish to be quoted on this.

Very nice... I especially like the way it incorporates the main theme near the end, and the tempo changes and such.

Did anyone else notice, from about the four minute mark to near the end of the song, that weird clickish sound at the beginning of each new segment (a segment, as in a full "1-2-3-4" in 4/4 time, I forgot the actual term for it)? It's probably just part of the song and meant to be there and stuff, but I dunno; it just seemed kind of odd/out of place to me. But other than that, though... Yeah, I really like this mix.

And a "yay" for the possible misuse of semicolons!

the song starts in 4/4 time signature

at 1:47 theres a time sig change to 5/4

and then at 2:02 it changes to 3/4

i bet none of you noticed that!

well maybe you did but i know i didnt

sneaky mcvaffe, thats why 1:47 sounds so off

and then theres an obvious but sweet time change at 4:00

thats 3 different time sig changes in one song, wow

sweet song vaffy, keep em coming

as much love as mcvaffe gets i dont think this song has gotten what its deserved. ive listened to it probably around 50 times or more so far, and i would say its the best song on OCremix.org.

at around 2:41 when the piano takes off... i begin to float... at 3:16, when it gets more layered, i feel like im flying, then at 3:34 the piano really starts shaking things up, and it all starts coming back. it hits me so hard at this point, i start feeling that inner-peace-at-one-with-the-universe type of feeling, where you feel in love with everything, and it makes me want to just curl up into the fetal position and cry. out of joy. god damn. thanks for this song.

The only thing I didn't dig about this mix was the time signature change, which is suspect is 5/4. *Listens again* Yeah, it's definitely 5/4. Anyway, the time change only really bugged me the first time I listened, and now that I understand how to bob my head to it, it's all good. Very nice work from the guy who consistentley provides very nice work.

I think I'm going to go watch Kill Bill. :)

I like this a lot. Might even put it on a sleep CD. The one thing I noticed was that the clanky things in the background kinda sound like Schala's Theme from Chrono Trigger. Not that that's a bad thing.

Beautiful when the piano comes in too. 10/10 easily.

Very nice work. Actually, the bass track on this particular song is too low for my car's sub. Looks like it's time for an upgrade! Anyways, this song really makes one feel at peace, especially with the bass maxxed out. Turn it up, lean back, and enjoy it.

This remix takes on a little heard tune from the Zelda series. This song is from the title sequence of Zelda 3, and it is one of the more elegant sequences. The OCR composer really does this song justice, adding the expected drum beat that permeates so many OCR songs. It works very well. Excellent song

This is freaking brilliant! 8O
When I first downloaded it, I couldnīt recognize the latter part, because I was still trying to clear the game, and when I did I remembered this mix immediately.
Love the piano you play Vaffe.

This is a really spooky song in the beginning hearing those Thai bells. But once the song progresses, it is quite soothing to listen to. Great remix.

Aha! See? Not heavy rock this time... :P

Aaaanyways... here we have yet another of my favourite remixes on this site... by one of my favourite remixers McVaffe! (Even though I very much HATE the McAfee virus scanner... and McVaffe's remixing name reminds me of it.)

McVaffe touches on one of those themes that I'm downright surprised there hasn't been more remixes of... the dark world theme! The song is just awsome in its original form and has a lot of potential for more uses... much like this remix shows in its first half.

Speaking of the beginning section of the song... the thai bell intro to this song really reminds me of that EXTREMELY over-remixed Chrono Trigger song for the floating land of Zeal. The intro is indeed appropriate... but it'll always give me that feel.

This song is so incredibly peaceful and easy-listening... its perfect for when you're just relaxing and taking it easy... or maybe just trying to catch a quick nap.

Every piece of this mix is well put together and very solid. There's no noticeable glitches anywhere at all. It's really a shame that this seems to be the last remix that McVaffe is going to submit here at OC... he really knows what he's doing when it comes to these arrangements.

I've had this song on my playlist ever since the first time I heard it, and I don't think it's going anywhere for awhile since it's one of, if not my favourite easy-listening songs in my collection. I'll just have to keep a lookout on McVaffe's homepage for any signs of new remixes.

This is one of those songs that I highly recommend to everybody!

The TSUZUMI in the compound meter in the middle of the piece!!! I LOVE IT INSTANTLY!!!

This guy gets really creative in the variation of the melodies, and in the meters. Caught me by surprise. I can see this arrangement's namesake. Excellent work in modulating between major and minor and vice versa.

Interesting intro, and development of the arrangement.

LOVE the fact that you used one of my ears' most treasured sounds.

This is still the best Zelda Remix I have ever downloaded. It's the Darkworld Theme that makes it my favorite. Just everything about the song is fantastic.
Wish McVaffe would make a comeback.

I'm a big fan of McVaffe, and his latest, hopefully not last, submission here does not disappoint. The beauty and grace of this mix leaves me in awe, and the song he used was perfect for the style used. This song stands among my top ten. Hmmm...I may have to upgrade that list for 20...50?? Crap.

Beautiful mix.

I can't help but wonder - did the title come from Book VI, Line 636 of William Wordsworth's "The Prelude"?

First off: Bell at the beginning was like heaven. I don't know why, but that was sweet. I enjoyed the transition near the middle of the song and it really does sound like the darkness and the light. This may not be McVaffe's best ReMix, but it's definantly my favorite.

This mix is incredible, easily among the very best on the entire site. Both the dark world and light world themes are handled expertly, but the thing I really love about this mix is the piano in the transition, which is just brilliant. Absolutely freaking beautiful. Then it goes into one of the most well known, most stirring themes in all of gaming and you can't not smile.

Without a doubt, one of my favourite mixes on the site. It's one of those songs that goes far and beyond what you would come to expect from a mixer creating music for an unpaying fanbase.
A medley at heart; but you'd almost never know it. McVaffe uses polar opposites in approach (contemporary and classic instruments, flowing consistancy zagged with time signature switches, and the titular light and shade in sound) to draw us into every new section and to redesign our memories of these pretty familiar tunes. The three themes are married so well to eachother and to the distinct concept of the piece, it makes it hard the mix to beat in terms of medleys. I think the most important aspect of the whole thing is that it eventually comes full circle and brings us back to the initial context from the intro, cementing the mixes identity and ensuring that this isn't just a scrapbooking of three ideas McVaffe had while listenig to the LttP soundtrack. Each section bleeds into the other, further enriching the already top-notch arrangements of classic LttP tunes. In particular, the credits theme struck the strongest chord with me, accentuating the original's nuances with that equisite McVaffe piano performance.
If I could give this more of a glowing review, I would. Mixes that surpass this one are pretty rare(although it does still happen, so there is still a reason to keep on listening).

Excellent sounds chosen, and the typical attention to detail. McVaffe has the (very prestigious, i'm certain ;-) )distinction of having the most saved remixes from OCR on my hard drive. Of course, he's done a ton of remixes, which certainly can't hurt things, but when they are all consistently so high quality, it's a lot more obvious why. Those in a lot of ways he plays it close to the source, there are always nice details and touches that make them distinctly his.

Good stuff, and well worth listening to. :-)

This reminds me a lot of the music you'd find in Dark Cloud 2/Dark Chronicle (especially of Tree Spirit Jurak (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq6cRmk-SPc&feature=related)). I love that OST, so I love this remix :-D
