this remix has a really nice mood to it. reminds me of telepopmusik .. probably because of the sine-y melodic components. the guy's voice is kinda geeky, but a passable performance. the vocoding is a little rough at times, it needs some (more) compression/eq attention. not too distracting though.

sadly i don't know the original game at all or have any of the music. hopefully someone can chime in on the interpetation.

Yeah the vocals could have done with some more compression, but very nicely done overall. Enjoyed it more as the song progressed. I really got into Shenmue and I think that this does convey the feelings of Ryo well. Good stuff.

i like this. it might be a little thin on the whole but it is ultimately very pleasing. i recognize the shenmue theme, and it is most definately not a submission violation.

(that bell line at the end is derived from the theme.)

There's some instances of clipping/audio glitches like at 1:02, 1:38. Not too annoying I suppose.

Overall, the mixer did a good job with the arrangement. I had no trouble recognizing the mix. The vocals start out very ify, but soon settle in nicely. Great effects processing, I love the vocoding and the ambient washes. This actually reminds me of Days go By by Dirty Vegas. Definitely worthy of a YES.
