Adobe PhotoShop, and lots of skill. Some of the guys around here are magic with that program.
Not everybody uses PhotoShop, you know. I hear some use GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) to work their sig magic.

I personally use a combination of programs, I think it gives you the best result...I also like to use my animation studio sometimes, just for fun.

I'm glad you like it Heyo Axel. Haha, yeah, I overlayed a faded picture of Zidane over a blurred duplicate. It gives characters that blurry kind of ethereal glow. : )

Image editing programs like those mentioned above, and ofcourse practice and tutorials, thats pretty much how most of us go about making sigs and such.

Why dont you ask Sir_NutS himself? Afterall, he made the sig. If he still has the original Photoshop file (assuming he uses photoshop) then he will be able to work it in much smoother than one of us simply plastering it on.

I think its missing something but I cant figure what. I dont know... But I put some work on it and I wouldnt want to waste this. Also, notice the AK47 lettering in the background, I manage to put two layer of it, one straight and one inclined and both are readable. Eh, it's the look I wanted for it, but I had to play with the contrast to get it right, and the image lost a little quality in doing that...and..it seemed like too much work to clean up, particularly when the Cap'n's looked better anyways. :p

Personally, I do it slowly and painfully, via the eyedropper, a pencil, and a bunch of blurring, sharpening, and smudging. It works well, but takes forever.

For this kind of work, I always use the ole trusty clone brush. You must try to recreate what is behind the thing you want removed and use the clone brush to use some part of the same pic as bases for the colors, tint, luminosity, textures, etc.

If you could join them in a cool way, i'd appreciate it. If you can't get them together in one image then just do the Aria of Sorrow one. If you do both, get the words Past over the aria one and Future over the sorrow one and Linkman25 in the middle. Have it look kinda blueish and melancholic or give it a sleek look.

Actually, my style is LESS work than usual sigmakers. Ask any other skilled sigmakers, they will tell you the same thing. A fitting term describing me would be a minimalistic artist! I don't do much but I do it fairly well.

An average sig takes me about 20 minutes.
I'm just curious..'cause...mine certainly aren't generally much work.

It depends... A simple common one can take between 15 to 30 min. But complicated one can take 1 or 2 hours to make (The Seppuku by Chainsaw sig comes to mind...)

But keep in mind that I have the reputation to work unusualy fast so don't compare to me because I'm not a good standard to rely one.

Two person I know here who could do you a fabulous animated sig with this are The Coop and The Wingless but, I think they're not into the collective sigmakin' business... Probably because their own sig took already a lot of work, doing so for other would take too much time. But it's just a speculation...

Well, luminoire [sorry if that's not quite spelled right] makes some nice animated sigs, but they're a more subtle animation from what I've seen.
RedShadow has also made some pretty nice animated ones.

the only thing is it has to be:

Seriousely though, I did this one up in Paint in about ten minutes. I would appreciate a more proffesional look.
The border going around the entire sig is the electron configuration of uncharged Astantine. I would like to keep that bordering the entire sig...
Also Astantia (my screen) should be centered and I like the three rings (if you have a nice suggestion for that, it's definitely changeable!)
The At and 85 on the side are just the Atomic symbol and number for Astantine. I would like those (together or seperate) anywhere on the sig, even backwards or upside down, I don't care.
The 210 AMU is 210 Atomic Mass Units... which I also like, but isn't a must.
The cross is a nice addition, but is not necesary, I just had to fill space.
The color scheme, black red and white, I like a lot. But am definitely open to suggestions!

Other than those things, do whatever you want! I really am humble suggesting this, and full credit will be given... I just want a nice sig sitting at the bottom of my posts...

I´m not requesting a sig here, so this may be a little off-topic, but I got problems with photoshop. The Type Tool doesn´t work. Whenever I chose it and tries to use it, it just shows that square little dot. No blinking line that shows that you now can write something.
It doesn´t even work when I make a brand new paper, but it does work on other works I´ve done before, but how good is that?

Making the picture bigger results in some nasty looking distortion, so you're stuck with it at that size. Personally, I think it's fine the way it is. Most people don't like them being so big as to be intrusive and distracting.

I was planning on taking a humoristic approach to it.

I'm thinking of a Resident Evil 4 sig, with either this image:

And i want it to say somthing in the lines of:

"This holiday... Share a little."

It can be with this phrase and image, or you could play with it, as long as the main concept is Leon either taking or dealing damage (or about to) and it's about sharing. Any image you want, any pharse you want.

Also, try to give a christmas-y spin to the image itself and my name (Linkman25) could be very faded, or non-existent.

Remember, you can discard this image completely, or resize it. You have total control.

That would be satisfactory but can you make the words more easier to read? The size of Team ocremix is kind of small and it is hard to see folding@home sign. You can make the signature a little bit bigger if you want to.

Since the festivities are over (school restarting proves that) I find it apropriate to make a sig change. My sig (made by Doulifeé, thanks man) will be stored, and probably used next Christmas along with a new one. :)

So, I was wondering if you could do one based on the Hellsing anime, with my name in it. Tell me if you need images. If you could imitate the Hellsing font, or put something in it resembling Hellsing it would be perfect. I don't want anything too obvious with a character stamped on it. Something that subtly hints to Hellsing like the font, dark-redish background, or a glimpse of Alucard's glasses.

The background is just perfect Doufliée, but could you get the 25 in the same font as Linkman? It just looks odd... Apart from that it's great. I never really paid much attention to your sig, just thought it was a character from a anime I don't know seeing as we don't have many here in Portugal. But now I realize it! It IS from Hellsing! Those good ol' deadly, animated dental floss strings. Wicked. It's awesome by the way.

Basically I want what's in my current sig to look good. I based the idea off of a shirt Edge wears (WWE wrestler if you didn't know). Here's his for reference:

I like how it looks in this (http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/9052/words4fb.png) font, but anything is good, as long as it's pink. Embellishment is encouraged everywhere! Just make it not look bad. I tried to make my own sig... it was a mess.

Anyone that can come up with anything using that basic stuff, but not using the game sprites, would be much loved. :)
