So while perusing games on Gametrailers, I looked at what I assumed was a relatively unknown game called Metal Rage. Much to my surprise, no less than twenty seconds in, I hear a VERY familiar and rather long effect from a completely different game. Check it out for yourself

Sounds like a stock library sound edited and layered with something else.

Yeah, I've heard a similar sound in one (or both?) of the starfox games, and the metroid level in ssbm (I would assume it's probably in a metroid game too?)

I'm going to go with stock sound effect as well.

Instantly recognized it as from Star Fox.
If you listen closely enough you can even hear the voice saying "Incoming enemy fighters; prepare for launch."

I miss that game; I bought a wii, and have been searching for the game ever since (since I never had a GC). I'd kill for one, but all the ones on ebay aren't PAL :|

Who said I didn't play any of the other games? I have played assault (and beaten it), I just don't happen to have enjoyed it nearly as much as 64.

The dinosaur planet game was ok I guess.
