playstation 2 expansion bay

i read somewhere that some of the newer games could use the hard drive in a PS2's expansion bay to significantly reduce loading times. is this true? specifically, i'm talking about GOW1 and 2, FFX, FFXII, KH1, KH2, and shadow of the colossus.

You would probably be best served getting something like the PS2 harddrive loader; that allows you to dump essentially ISOs to the internal harddrive, boot of a disc, and then load them as though they were mounted.
