I obviously judged this mix, but up until reading the writeup and Dave's point about the arrangement, it didn't really hit home with me that this was a Zeal mix. The creativity of the arrangement ideas here was a testament to how you can never call a theme overmixed; someone from the community will always find a new and interesting way to interpret a tired and true theme, and I'm always collectively proud of everyone involved when it happens. Nice work on this one, Joren, great energy!

Really nice :) I need to listen it a little more but it's my genre of track and I really like the source.
Now I need to sleep, here in Italy it's 5AM...

YAAAY! I remember seeing this on the wip forums, downloading it, and being blown away. It's about freaking time!!!
Yes, Corridor of Time has been mixed to hell and back. But this mix... It's one of the best mixes of this theme out there. (There's only one other metal/guitar version of this theme (and schala's theme, part two of that set) that I would even say is close - and that version is too repetitive to qualify, i think, to be a ReMix - but I love it in it's own way).
Anyhow, enough offtopic'ing. This mix rocks the house. If you love CT, and you hate Zeal, still... try this one on for size! The solo later on definitely has the metalica groove going on - a bit lighter, a bit fluffier, but still, good stuff. Excelent production work. Also sounds great on a pioneer car stereo at maximum volume - no distortion, so it was mixed fantastically.
Great job, and an excelent ReMix. Gogo April 09!

My contribution to this mix is that I told Tensei to hold back on the harmonized guitar for one bar; and I think it sounds better for it :3

Best rock remix since Passing of the Blue Crown (imo of course)

I remember when you asked for reviewers in the OCRWIP IRC room. It was good then. It's amazing now. I was reading djp's writeup, and saw that you said you had influence from Naruto. I was thinking "Ok, but I don't hear it..." and then bam, on cue, the shamisen kicked in.
But yeah, niiiiiice. I really love how it's not just heavy guitar, there's a lot in here.

Definitely a fresh take on a familiar theme, and it's awesome for it! The dramatic intro is fun and there's great energy and interesting little touches through the whole thing. The synth almost makes me think late MegaMan/early X series music, while the bit starting at 1:36 kinda reminds me of Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon. There's one note at 2:42 that makes the transition sound a little odd, but it's a small thing. Rockin' stuff, and proof that even the "overdone" themes still have all kinds of potential.

Definitely the kind of mix I can appreciate. It's full of energy, but with the exception of a few remixers, I've found that plain guitar mixes have kind of lost their appeal to me. That's where this mix shines - the extensive instrumentation really brings this song to a new level of awesomeness :)
I look forward to seeing what you can bring to the table in the future, and to the DKC2 remix album in particular. I'm excited to hear your track for that!
This reminds me a lot of YAMAGEN (http://devileliet.gozaru.jp/mp3_download/mp3_download_arrange.html). Who just happens to be one of my favorite arrangers ever. Awesome stuff.

ABOUT FUCKIN TIME! (end of capitals) One of my favorite mixes from recent time. Reignited my long lost nostalgic luv for the Zeal theme. Always knew Tensei had it in him to make something awesome like this; with the prowess of tweek added to the processor this one is a keeper. Kudos on a ridiculous arrangement and general aesthetic.

There's a little something for everyone in this song! Rock guitars, cello solo, synths...it really keeps you on your toes, anticipating the next transition. Only half way through the song and this one has already earned a ***** rating.

It was a really good remix. It seems to have different influences throught each part of the mix. I nice job from Joren de Bruin and Brian Arnold. Keep it up, dudes!

This has serious rock opera vibes going all over it. The Doc approves.
Also, the little solo around 2:26 makes me grin.
I can see the Sixto similarities, but you guys effectively made this mix all your own I think.
good stuff for sure- lots of variation, some very cool ideas, and that level of Tweek polish. Nice playing, and plenty of rock. This one is a keeper. :-)

This whole song is freaking epic. The first 30 seconds are awesome and the strings in this song sound great. :D Awesome, hope to hear more from you guys.

This, most definitely, RAAAAAWKS!!!
Love the epic orchestral start, and that off-key synth solo definitely adds some 'charm' to the piece.
Keep the great work Joren!
...and you as well Tweek ;)

I've had the wip of this song in my playlist for quite a while now. Good to see it show up on the main page.

Very impressive. Played this at work at the NCC -- turned a few heads, a few recognized the theme - others were surprised to hear where the source was from. It's been said before, but favorited - heavily, love the energy, solos -- everything.

This remix is truly awesome. It starts out with an epic opening and goes straight for the kill. I've always been a fan of the synth/guitar combo. Also, the section from 1:36 to 2:03 is rather fantastic and, as if that wasn't enough, the ending (IE last 12 seconds) wraps it up so well.
Superb job guys!

God this song makes me wanna play chrono trigger again. The way the guitars are introduced is pretty epic. the tune itself is just done very well.

Awesome arrangement, really awesome arrangement. When it doesn't click that it's Zeal at first, and then you're blown away by the realization, you know you have a winner.
Sweet deal.

Chrono Trigger is one of those games I never played, in turn one of the soundtracks I never listened to. It's remixes like these which make me want to play the damn game! Makes me wonder if the original track is as cool as this remix.
Love the guitar work! Absolutely awesome playing, Tensei. Epic stuff when you go all mellow mid-track and that solo towards the end makes me want to air guitar the hell out of it. Love the orchestral overlay and synth work by Tweek, very Hitoshi Sakimoto-like at some parts (2:05 in particular). Especially love the synth section 1:35 and the solos accompanying the guitar at the end.

Well, the original has a completely different feel from this remix (though it's an awesome song nevertheless!), and yes, you should definitely play Chrono Trigger. :P
Not meaning to downplay Tweek's role in this, but the synth is all me. ;)
Thanks for the comments, guys, I appreciate every single one of them!

QFE!!!! Seriously guys, my role in this was tiny in comparison to Tensei. However, I echo my joy that everyone is enjoying it!
I've been listening to OC for like ten years and I'd NEVER heard a mix like that before. Good job, man.
It's like Nightwish meets Ailsean.

The plucked instrument + strings coming in at 1:35 are awesome. Loving the breakdown at 2:03; drum roll is always awesome. Guitar solo starting at 2:58 is sick. Synth solo is totally ridiculous; I absolutely love it.
Very nice work, you two.

Damn. This just might be my favorite CoT on the site now! It never even crossed my mind to hear this in rock form. I was super impressed with the interpretation, and the execution is just madness. If there is one thing I love, it's genre-bending, and this mix delivers effortlessly in that department.
reMixes that hit me this hard don't come along often. Definitely in my top 20, sitewide. Maybe even top 10. Looks like I'll have to revisit my working list ;)

Tight, great performances!! This made me want to head bang at my chair, and then get on Guitar Hero. Overall, this mix is solid, although I wish it wasn't as "tinny" sounding. I'm wondering if guitars were recorded "Line In" on this. I'm betting with the right amps and mics, with the same performance, this could be a 10/10. The mix hurt this more than anything, but the arrangement and performance kicks ass. Bravo.
Starts out great, but right around :47 where it gets to the meat of the song, it just seems to sorta ...lose some of the energy it was building up. It kicks right back up though, so it's forgivable. Very solid remix; love the orchestral touches!

Been listening to this one again: Tensei really was channeling his inner Sixto on this one. I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference if this were in a playlist of Juan's stuff.

When I first heard this song, I couldn't pick out the source tune, but it sounded so familiar. Then I decided to look on here (I had downloaded the torrent), and I could not believe it was Corridors of Time! Then when I listened again, strangly enough, it WAS Corridors of Time! To take such a mellow tune and make it hard, fast and just badass like you did takes some extreme talent. I probably have about 600 remixes, listened to hundreds more, and this by far is my favorite and probably always will be. Awesome work!

Huh, thought I'd commented on this already...
This is seriously a great track, and I love it. One of my favorites. I almost didn't download it at first because I was all, "Corridor of Time? Not one of my favs.." but boredom came and I decided to listen to it and MINDBLOWN! This was when it first came out, mind you. An awesome take on an otherwise lackluster source (in my opinion) and it literally rocks more than Ayla's time period. (couldn't resist the awful reference) Great work! ^_^
