really interesting song! Mario 64 was a really long game, kinda 'accidentally' memorized the songs...
really cool! the main synth part seems like its directly from the game... very nice!
this is one of those songs u just cant help but bang ur head to, great job!

Wow, just when I thought that this was one of those failed WIP, it shows up on OCR. Good job, I really like this remix. An excellent version of Bowser's Castle!

The Remix Was Wonderful I Feel As Though It Very Well Done. The Only Thing That I Didn't Like Is That I Was Constantly Waiting For You Go Into The Second Half Of The Real Song, I Wanted Hear How You Would Have Done It In The Remix. Also The Secod Half Of The Real Song Is Sort Of My Favorite Part.

But All In All I Really Loved It And Listened To It Over And Over Again So Far.

I Really Like How You Kept Bringing Back The Main Theme Of The Song Using Different Sounds. Then All of A Sudden It Would Fade Out Then Come Back And Snap Even Harder (That Was Cool)
And The Beat:
It Was Cool The Beat Just Getting Better And Better.

Very Good ParagonX9

And Have A Nice Day!!!!!!!

Jesus christ, capital letters much?

For my $.02, I thought the piece was well made, seemed very precise and logical, however I have to agree on the repetition. It could have used a bit more variety in the drum tracks, but with this piece in specific, I'm not surprised in the route you took.

It's a difficult piece to work with, without either veering from the real melody, or without being repetitive. I'm glad you chose to do what you did. Keep up the good work.

I agree with Dragon... while this is a fantastic mix, it would have benefited so much more from the inclusion of the second part of the song. Still, great job. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more of your work.

and for the song, I've been following ParagonX9's work for a long time now and this isn't one of his best tracks (see Danger Ahead) but I still enjoyed it because I'm a very big SM64 fan.

Okay, so I didn't get first post.. oh well..

The beginning of the track has some nice ambience, then suddenly I was caught by surprise with a slamming breakbeat that grabbed my attention. I'm not too impressed with the mix, but I can agree with the judges that it was still a well done mix. Everyone's taste differs, but this just didn't hit the spot for me. :(

I really enjoy this one. Since I'm at my job, I can wait to go home and put it bumpin on the ultimate volume. :D

Highly recommended for DnB lovers.

This would have to be my criticism as well-that was the best part of the song and to have it cut out just sounds flat.

It was a little repetitive, but a very nice dancey song. xD Overall, me likes.

I honestly thought this song had some very very wierd samples. The synths give this more of an electronic feel. I'm used to drum and bass with some acoustic instruments, but this didn't bother me at all. I really liked the pad that opens up the mix. Nice indeed. The percussion samples weren't too bad at all, but the snare just doesn't fit into the drum and bass category unlike Ubik's Tribal Warfare. This doesn't turn me off however as the sounds are very very unique.

Good job and congratulations on producing a very strong remix as a first contribution to OCR after VGMix.

A definate keeper.

This is the track that graces the #1 spot, as there's always that one track that makes me start the CD.

Yes, that opening is quite sinister. Since Nixdorux's Ghost remix will be posted here, I'm putting that one as the first track on my Halloween OCR party mix along with DJP's Psycho Underpants.

OCR Volume 6 CD for me. I have a collection.

It's been years since I played the game, so I didn't recognize the song at first. Really well done ReMix, love the beat especially.

The breakbeats fiercly kills the strangely moody original tune, but in an innovative and original way ....thumbs up :o

Wow, this is really kickin'.

This holds a spot on my OCR cds as well as my Drum'n'Bass cds.

incredable job using the same theme in such different fashions.

Mix it to the second theme of that song :D

i really liked this mix, and Im not a huge fun of this "club" type of music. If all club music is like this, then I may have found a new thing to look for in record stores. It was very cathy, and well done, one of my new favorites.

Great Job, for a moment I thought this was a ripoff from Chaoz, then I put the 2 versions togheter and realise that were the same.

I had listened to all the Super Mario 64 ReMixes, and they were pretty good. The only one that cought my attention and made me save it was 'Liquid Mario'. I came here one day, and I was surprised to see another Super Mario 64 ReMix.

It's a good song. Towards the beginning, it showed kind of a dark side of the game. When it broke into the song, I was happy to hear a fast-paced, exiting song. Although, after listening to it, I was somewhat disappointed. The song lacks ingenuity. Tough it was well put together, and the choice was good, (I don't think this song has been done before) it seemed like the composer only had a chorus. There were breaks, but it was just the same thing over and over and over. It got kind of boring to listen to it when there's only one line.

The compser is musically talented, and I think he can do a much better ReMix.

Hey, kewl! I feel like I'm chasing Bowser right now... Nah, seriously, awesome, awesome mix. I love the darker sounds in it. Gives it that...that...feel of...darkness. I reeeeally like the smooth calm to krazy fast switch. Makes ya wanna dance like no one's lookin'!!!

Yeah uh...
Hate to be criticizing on my first post, but is anyone else getting directed to a newgrounds page when this is played? It's annoying me.
Perhaps this could be fixed, maybe not, but I hope it is. I like the music, but hate the stupid directing thing.

Yase. it roxxor's my soxxors.

I was just thinking the other day that someone should remix this song.

personally, I think that there should have been more of the original motif appearing in it, but it still works this way.

Also, I think that maybe the next person to remix this song should try making a new melody based on the original one, interlace it from time to time, then bring them together. But thats just a thought. :D

Go backwards in time 10 days before this post. I was playing Super Mario 64 on my emulator and heard the original song in the Bowser Room #1. Go forward 3 days after that, and this song still has what it takes. My foot always taps without fail when this song is playing, and even a little head nodding is in order too. The main track sounds like a mix between chanting and bass, with a little bit of electric guitar. This definitely gets a 10 out of 10 fireballs.

I can't stop listening to this song!!!
If you are a fan of the Tetris Techno song?
Heavy Drum'N'Bass goodness?

This song owns honestly, such a pump up!!!

I just pulled out Mario 64 to beat the final boss to hear the song again.

Such memories :D :D :D

I second all previous comments. This remix really captures the mood of the original and the percussion really keeps it going with the intricate rhythm. The stop-go pace of this remix really keeps you engaged. Keep it going Paragon X9!

Ok, so I'm one of those people that has been coming to this site for years (since around 2002) and never posted. Time to break that trend :).

This is one of my favorite songs on OCR. I've always loved the source tune from the game, but this takes it to new levels. I guess I can see why many feel it's repetative, but I honestly think there's enough change-ups to keep it interesting. Plus, it's added a ton of energy to the original tune, which was already solid. Excellent work.

This was one, IMO, one of my few mistaken votes that I've made out of nearly 2,000 votes. I'd say maybe 4 or 5 I would change given the chance. Pretty much all of them in my first couple of months on the panel.

One of the things this mix later underscored to me was that, IMO, you should never vote down a track because it only deals with a limited portion of the source tune being used. There's no obligation to base a mix on most or all of the ideas presented in a source tune.

This piece worked with the main verses of "Koopa's Road" extremely well with a lot of interpretation and personalization, mostly in the instrumentation and mood, but also in the compositional quality of the original sections added. So thanks a lot to Jermain for helping me broaden my thinking and improve my open-mindedness as a judge.

and for the song, I've been following ParagonX9's work for a long time now and this isn't one of his best tracks (see Danger Ahead) but I still enjoyed it because I'm a very big SM64 fan.

I was going to mention that, but, good, someone else already did.

Anyway, cool, I had forgotten you had an account here. Great remix... a little repetitive at the end, but, eh, who cares. Still fun to listen to.

I'm not even usually that big a fan of d'n'b (maybe it's the breakbeat part that does it for me), but this is a great, solid mix that really gets me jamming. Awesome job here.

This isn't a mix I would describe as going places. It lingers on the one section of the source the entire time, lingering with the drum loop, lingering with synth cycles. It's fun to listen to, but it has a hard time satisfying my appetite.
Technically I see nothing wrong with this. I love the source tune, I think the samples sound great. I just have a real problem with the arrangement. It's not that I think it is boring, I'm happy to sit through this. But as far as my want for it to progress, to build or to even bridge, it underperforms. This is the sort of mix that travels its furthest in its first minute, and from then on gets overly comfortable in what it is doing.
Like I said, it's more than competent for D'n'B, not so much for game music remixing. By no means a stinker, but a little outside my tastes.

Nice loops, bro. :-)

The track does tread water for the duration, but I did have a good time with it, and cool breakdown sections mixed in with some modulations and SFX keep things interesting until it's over.

Good stuff, but not great. :-)

I discovered this on Youtube, copied as it has been multiple times onto different Youtube accounts, before I found it on OC. I always liked this remix, as I feel it gave the technological feel that the Super Mario 64 Bowser Roads (especially Bowser in The Dark World) always had. While it may not build as much as other ReMixes do, it fits the feel of the source, and the several returns to the beginning will always make me smile because of how many times Bowser in the Sky killed me and sent me flying out of that pipe. Keep up the good work!

This remix is really good, with a nice drum n' bass-style beats. I remember this is one of the first theme I heard from OC and felt amazed.
