The anime is based on a fantasy classic that predates Berserk and actually influenced the creation of Berserk (which says a lot by itself).

I still love FF6, FF7 and even Lost Odyssey's OSTs by Uematsu, but each and every track in the anime gives me the chills. I thought people said he was over the hill? LULZ

For such an amazing opening song, I'm surprised nobody put up a high quality one.

Sounds all right, but I think I prefer the main theme he wrote for SSBB over this, and that's to say nothing of the many awesome themes he wrote over the course of his FF career (or many other games).

I guess my fandom of the entire soundtrack can't really be shown in only the opening intro I guess. I mean, some of the tracks just sound outright haunting. Definitely not the Uematsu I was used to. And yeah, it does sound a bit like Jeremy Soule. I think that's sort of the point since Guin Saga is a dour fantasy.

I started watching Guin Saga yesterday. I had no idea wtf it was about so I wiki'd it, and when I found out that the music was being done by Nobuo Uematsu, I was all over it.

I guess nobody really paid attention to it :\
