Yeah... This is still my favorite remix from the Kong In Concert CD's. I really never liked the original track in DKC, but Adhesive_Boy changes it into something amazing. It just has this indescribable quality to it; it makes me feel happy and good every time I listen to it.

Dude, the cello does it for me, this mix is like awesome to the 10th power. And the way he finds new and interesting ways to play with the beat, its just pure awesomeness.

One of the best songs on the SOUNDtrack. Very unique. What I especially like is how well arranged the song is. Consider the original. As far as I'm concerned its total crap. Yet this brought it out in very cool new ways. Its almost like a compo-limitation remix with killer results.

This remix is AWESOME. Can't get enough of it. Um...I love the xylo (as well as the cello, but that's been mentioned). The cello reminds me of "Elenor Rigby" by the Beetles. I don't know if that was an influence or not, because that's just another song I've come across recently. But whatever the case, as a whole, it's a great mellow track!

I find myself walking back from my classes humming the bass line (also introduced by the cello) and reaching home barely in time to satisfy my craving for this song. As much as I love the cello playing and realize that it probably took a lot more effort to record, for me the most genius part of the entire song is the badass bass. This is also one of my favorites from KIC, great work Adhesive_Boy.

Probably one of my favorite remixes from Adhesive_Boy and off Kong in Concert. The cello is just fantastic and the mellow-groove feel of the whole song is great. I loop this song all the time while I am studying or zoning out during hectic times. Awesome work!

I heard the one off the Kong in Concert page. It didn't do it for me since it's not my cup of tea, but the arrangement's executed quite nicely seeing my grandmother dug it.

Yes, my grandma listens to VG Frequency every Saturday night while I'm chiilin' with the guys and since she has a bad CD burner requests me to burn them for her.

Wow. It's about time we actually got something in this vein. I'm going to throw this in the playlist and see how it does.

Just going to reiterate the general consensus and say that this is probably one of my favorite tracks of of KiC as well as my new favorite AB track. Well constructed, with some really gorgeous cello.

PS: In his write up, DJP forgets to mention GL's KiC song, also on the site.

I didn't know Double A's grandma liked my radio show. It attracts all types. :-P Glad she enjoys it, Aaron.

Yeah, as far as rearrangements go, Jack's was by far the most impressive to me on Kong in Concert. As a mere listener, I enjoy Prophecy's the most, but Adhesive Boy's relatively few and far between remixes have all been unorthodox rearrangement ideas along with great execution. Pretty unique sounds compared to what else is available here at OC, and just amazing work overall.

Ever since I heard the first wip of this, it's been one of my favorite mixes of the project. The minimal source material is used to great effect, and every part of the song seems to come together almost uncannily perfect. Beautiful cello tops this one off. Thumbs up for another great A_B mix.

It's been a LONG time since I've found a remix that I can call "Breathtaking". This, folks, is thankfully one of those mixes.
I've always loved the original piece, and to hear it remixed in such a good way makes me drool.
I can't wait for more Donkey Kong Country mixes!
I love DKC music! :D

Definately my fav. mix on the album...reminded me of radiohead...just plain smooth; it takes a while to realize that it is so good.

This and the two Protricity mixes were my favorite on the album. My only qualm about this song is the relative lack of presence of the percussion. This really isn't a problem, as the song style doesn't demand it.

Wow. Just wow.

Very cool, very well done. Right when I heard the cello come in around 0:57 (hate to be unoriginal in commentary) I knew this song was gonna be amazing.

Was anyone else reminded of Crouching Tiger/Hero by this? I dunno, it just sorta rang bells in the back of my head.

Once again, an excellent piece, and highly reccomended.

I didn't like the drum loop/beat too much but the cello and everything else was amazing! great work! adhesive boy does the coolest stuff!

I hated the original tune, but Adhesive Boy did a nice job making something great out of it. The cello is played very nicely. Then the first moment the beat comes...yeah. I definitely want to hear a rap with this. It's quite mellow and a bit ethereal. Great work here.

Yeah, that scared me in a good way after I found out what she does on Saturday nights, Liontamer. Back to the song on a positive note, on the actual version on KiC, I dug the bit from 1:50 to 2:30. The beat, the chello, and the panning chugging industrial sound-thingy at 2:21 got me hooked a bit until 2:35. I can listen to it, for a while even though it's not my type of music. I think what has this remix grow on me are the 1940'ish type string sample pads. They are very very lush sounding which keeps me hooked to this piece of work.

Maybe I should look into your next work after all.

By far my favourite of all the Donkey Kong remixes!
I listen to it as much as to all other donkey related remixes!

Didn't know what to expect from this. The beginning had me wondering, but 1 minute into it, everything starts coming together, and you know it's gonna be good.

I keep getting all the KiC mixes confused, but I'm gonna do my best to seperate this one out, cause it is quite good! excellent work.

Adhesive Boy never disappoints. This is excellent, particularly the detail in the "second" theme, at the start of the third minute. Great stuff as always AB.

ooooooooooooo...love, love, love the beginning :D It is sooo nice...*melting*. -_GASP_-This majorely rocks...it has an awesome triphop feel (hint: I LOVE triphop). Oh, this track needs some Tricky lyrics! It's got that bittersweet/coming f/a deep depression mood...ahhhh, I love this times9. K, this is the grooviest DKC theme mix *heart, heart*

Wow. This ReMix PERFECTLY encaptures the feel of the cave levels on DKC. For anyone who has grown up with the game, or at least played it and savoured the music and graphics the really do try to capture the essence of the wild jungles, forests, caves and other terrains covering Africa, this music perfectly encaptures my idea of CAVE. Beautiful, restful and CAVE.

Although this doesn't feature AB's usual tight drumwork this still stands as one of my favorites. It's so moody and very very ambient. The cello really makes this piece sing. It is really great in the car too. Good work AB!

Wow, this song is marvelous. It may start a little slowish, but if you just have patience, you can experience the full glory of this remix. Beautiful cello cooperating with drumbeats, synths and some cool marimba makes this one of the best, adhesive boy really sticked to this one and finished it graetly. And if you liked this, you REALLY have to check out the Kong concert.

I cannot set up links, so you just have to go to djpretzel´s review like everybody else.
Adhesive boy, until we meet again. 8)

I didn't like the original DKC song this was based on, but it's a good mix. I liked the arpeggios at 1:45. Overall it's nice and smooth .. What is that weird background sound panning at 2:20? Very realistic strings in the forground around 3:00 but the background strings sound fake and squeal a little. I likes the melody around 3:20 but the bass is overpowering the treble a little too much. I like how you subtlely worked a couple samples from the original. It's a well done inside reference.

It's a decent mix.

I've had this song for months now, but I think it deserves a comment here now simply for the fact that this song contains such a beautiful intro. Cool yet so soft, it draws you in so carefully. I just find it strange that it still sounds absolutely perfect, it still gives me that feeling of exactly what it is being. I can't think of any other song that does that, I think "carefully" was the keyword there. The intro doesn't ask anything of you, and gets it so right that many months later I find myself wondering how a song exists that still makes me feel like it did the first time I heard it. I never really thought people could do that.

Nostalgia abounds in this piece doesn't it? It takes those beautiful natural "cavey" tones and draws them even taunter, and that cello just sends shivers down my spine!

I don't know what to say, to be honest, that hasn't already been said.

This is a masterpiece.

Overall, this is a good mix. It starts off slow, but builds nicely over the first minute. I loved how the song layered all of the instruments, especially when the strings were added about a minute in; the song comes together very nicely at this point. The chimes at 2:25 really brings you back to DKC. After that point, the mix was nice, but you begin to lose the sense of being in a cave, which is what I think draws the listener into the song. However, it does not detract from from a very nice mix. Great job.

Has a typical remix feel to it...

EXCEPT... the usage of real instruments. The cello definitely takes the cake. Also, the improvised melody with the keyboard instruments. In the middle, there's a quiet but prominent suitcase piano instrument... can't put my leg on it right now, but it gives the melody a kind of cozy feel to it. Right about that point it gives me the feeling of sitting down, eating or enjoying coffee at a busy diner in the middle of a large city. There's bustling all about, but I'm able to sit down and talk and/or read the paper...

I truly love this song - the opening is absolutely beautiful! The smooth synths, the jungly xylo (i think) and the deep cello all come together to produce such a subtle beauty. It's astounding!

Has a typical remix feel to it...
I have to disagree here - this feels pretty unconventional, partly due to the chosen source material, but it feels completely cohesive and organic. While the cello is nice, it's not just the live instruments that gives this mix personality. Every element of the soundscape comes together to make this mix memorable and unique.

One of my favorite DKC remixes, killer job! :-D

Adhesive_Boy, where did you go? The world needs more amazing remixes from you.

This song is nostalgia overload - one of the most well-realized DKC mixes on the site imo. I think the hi-passed strings at 2:40 might be mixed slightly too high, but in no way does it hurt the track. Superb production and arrangment ideas make for a moody, nostalgic, and oh-so-subtly haunting listen.

Really a unique and chilled out sound on display here, with some very well done and deliberate pacing. The cello playing was very nice, and the soundscape surrounding it is very cool. I'd have liked to have heard even more cello, but even as-is, this is a mix that holds up really well.

Fantastic....the xylo beat was probably the part of this and bravo on adding real chello to it. You know, a mix that makes me like the source a little more than I used to makes it greater than some other mixes do to me. The fact that I never cared about the original until I heard this says something. Good job.

This was one of my favourites from Kong in Concert, and that's saying something considering I couldn't for the life of me remember this source in the slightest. Usually the ReMixes I relate to most I have some sort of connection with the original source, but not this one. The slow pace of the intro and masterful execution of the cello and xylophone give this mellow remix an assurance that if you listen patiently, you will be rewarded.

The drum beats at 1:36 and 1:46 are great, and then when the song quietens down and builds up again bringing in that bell sound it's just lovely. A really nice change of pace, and a surprisingly good arrangement considering the weak source material.

Everything about this mix screams professionalism at me. The string solos, the percussion, the old-timey strings and sound effects. Not too surprising considering the album as a whole was fantastic. Well done!

Just as with GeckoYamori and so many others, Adhesive Boy's another remixer I'd hoped to hear more from over the years. This song has _NEVER_ left my playlist. It's beautiful, and captivating...and cavey.
