For a web project I'm doing, I need to know how to take a jpg and create separate clickable or scroll-over objects from their proximity on the screen. It would be similar to facebook's scroll-over tags with names, except I would like to load a small image along with more detailed information about the component. Would this be a flash function? Java? Can it be done in HTML?
Thanks!

If I understand what you want, using the map tag and then add a title to each area will achieve the desired result.
see http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_map.asp for more information.

Flash is wonderful for games or media(audio/video) but personally, it's garbage for everything else. If you're using flash for site navigation or content displaying (minus games/audio/video) you really need to burn in hell. Needing a plug-in and an app just to navigate a website is ridiculas, then there is the problem with bookmarks. I could rant further....but I'm lazy and it looks like you are good to go anyways, so good luck.
