I know I've said this to certain people online, but let me just tell you that I forsee this being as big if not bigger than Kong In Concert. I have listened to just about all of the tracks and I think the mixers put/are putting an incredible amount of effort into them. It's really paying off. I'm quite proud of this project, and I see great things on the horizon.

COOL. I really like the fact that you have gone beyond the basic dark, bloody and ragged Doom-layout and tried something different.

But my suggestion would still be : make it a bit darker, bloodier and more ragged. :D

Just thought Id say Ive remastered my chemical imps track, infiltration has been updated and sent to evilhorde as a collaboration so he can put some cool guitar in it but that's to be confirmed. So TO you might have to put Evil's name next to mine on your art work. Thanks.

First off, VERY AWSOME WORK!!!

Second, this was an idea that I had a month or two ago but waited until now to bring it up. With the cover, on the shadow part of Mars (leave "DOOM" title), put the teeth part of the Orichalcon. Don't make it REALLY apparent but kind of hint at it. I'd do it but I'm;
a- not that good of a graphic artist
b- amateur level at photoshop
c- need good quality (somewhat at that size) of the Orichalcon

Now the cover is already amazing as it is, . . .
but the thought of adding the teeth in the shadow of mars to this new cover seems . . . wicked and evil.
The "dark" side = evil. Yes, I know I'm quoting Obi Wan.

ps- Doom 3 on xbox rules! Although I know it is better on the PC, I was amazed at how good of a quality the game turned out.

I still wish I could've found a chick with a red hood blowing in the wind... that would be sweet. Put it with the Mars landscape I made color balancing a desert. De-Saturate everything but the red. I had a similar idea - was going to use TO's model - but that plan fell through.

You can download anytime you want. All's you have to do is right click & save target as. Or Save or some crap like that. And, wala. You downloaded. And when the projects finally released, you can use said technique to d/l the songs off the album.

Edit: Well got word from Myth that it was okay to release a little over a minute sampler of my mix. You can use the technique to acquire it.

When DS and I originally talked a bit back we decided to let Kirby debut first. While their project seems to be slowing, they still look to finish ahead of us. That is why I haven't really been in a VAGINORMOUS (lol) hurry to finish this. I want to give Kirby project a MININININUM of two weeks before we debut.

I apologise for the lack of updates. The last remaining songs are being worked on. I'm keeping in touch with the mixers via AIM and IRC and things look to be finished soon. Then, I go and sort eveyt'ang out.

The welcoming page (no part of the image is hyperlinked yet). The size is set so that at 1024x768 (which most usually people have as their resolution) no scrolling is involved. I drastically changed it because... well... it was commented that the red is too strong (though many many others liked the red to begin with. Here is the result after going around in circles. I probably won't touch it again. I have other paid projects to work on. I don't need to worry so much about these freebies I hand out so often here at OCR.

GT, my problem with the headphones is that its postioned over Mars. I personally think that's lame. Perhaps putting the OCR logo of to the side or something might look better. Since I might not have said it before the who graphic itself is quite awesome, it's just the headphone sort of kill it.

Look, I know you guys may have your opinions on Global-Trance's design, and that's fine. You can have your opinion. I respect that. However, the fact of the matter remains: I'm running the project, and I make the final decisions.

Now, I chose G-T to design the website, gave him full creative control over it, because I know he can do a good job. Frankly, I'm satisfied with what he has turned out so far. It's just the cover page, people. Not the end of the world.

Granted, I was somewhat expecting this seeing as how Kong in Concert also recieved flack for its site design. Hell, when DJP changed OCR to the white, people complained up the shithole. However, it was his design, his decision - and in the end, it didn't really matter that a few people thought white on orange looked terrible, or the new site layout was crappy.

I hate to come down like a dictator on this issue, but a project manager needs to lay down the hammer sometimes. Shit, Prot said this project (as well as Kirby and others) would fail because we didn't have the backbones to be project managers, that we didn't have what it would take to lay down the limits when the time came, no matter who it would put us up against. Well, I know I've been lenient as a motherfucker the past few months - shit, I wasn't breathing down peoples back with deadlines and whatnot. I allowed the mixers, the people, to pace themselves. Gave them some freedom.

But now this, this is just silly. This close to release, the project doesn't need any more wrenches in the gears.

Global Trance is going to keep working on the site. Any further negative comments in this thread regarding this issue will be deleted. If you have issue with the site, or have ideas you would like to see implimented on the site, please PM or email me in a polite fashion. I will take the points I see fit and discuss them with G-T. I see no further need to aggravate someone who volunteered their time to help make this project a success.

meh, its ovbiously a not-so important reason, MN, but I think you were a bit too harsh there. The people who complained are not complaining for the heck of it, but because they want, just like you, to see this project succeeding in a big way. And mods can delete this post as well, but I think the headphones are not fitting there. If a lot of people would have told me to change something about my song that was wrong, I would have done it, because I want my job to be as satisfying as all the work from all the other people who joined the project. So I dunno why this had to be resolved in a dictatorship way.

If someone asked me to do something for their important project, I would expect criticisms and feedback but I don't think I should have to take unnecessary bitching that's completely un called for.

GT has talent, so why try and push him away from reaching a good finished design? I've seen his other art and I'd encourage him 100% to come up with better ideas rather than bitch to him till he has to get upset about it.

I don't think Hell's Keep is on the project because it was (like some other songs) minor adaptations of another song from the game. Something klm09 decided back in september.

Hell keep is E3M1, the music in E3M1 is the same as the music in E2M9, which was taken by Nousentre.

cover art is all welcome, but a decent effort is required. Stand back and think.. "if someone else made this, would I want to use it?"

Waiting on Myth still, I think the project could afford to wait a little longer, let kirby have it's time in the prime, 2 weeks is too soon, and we still have things to do.

I wish I could do it better, but the picture I used only has so much resolution, & I can't find anythings better than it. So, that's as good production wise as it's getting I'm afraid. It'll be there for whoever wants to use it though. Or if anyone more adept at photoshop wants the pdf to spruce up. I'll be more than happy to give to them.

If you don't have the images/tools to make your image better, then the best solution is to find them. Everything I do is with photoshop and random plugins and images I find for free on the web. There are tutorials and such too.

this is still a wip, i'm trying to give an extra oomph of quality to the DSOP lettering. i realize it's a pretty linear aproach for a cover but i like the overall look of it.

Fire Cracker, I like the cover alot and the simplicity makes it more solid. In my opinion I think the font for the title would look alot more proffesional resembling the DOOM lettering, I don't know how easy/hard that is but I think it would look way cooler that way.

that is the doom lettering, the doom menu lettering. unfortunately i didn't find the main DOOM font (not that i searched very thoroughly mind you). anyways i'm experimenting with making sprites from the game into patterns and placing it as a layer style.

Yeah I like the second one alot aswell. The boarder of the lettering looks odd having almost faded edges, is it possible to put a thin tint around them? Something goldish like the Doom title, that'd be wicked if you could.

Those look quite good Firecracker. My only complaint is the "Dark side of the Phobos" text. The font makes the picture look kinda "cute", and you might want to check the typography. It looks like the letters in "THE" are really crammed next to each other, when again in "DARKSIDE" or "DARK SIDE" (can´t tell which is it) it almost looks as it says D ARKSIDE because the D is so far away..

Just little nitpicking but something worth taking a look at. Its a great picture.

EH: i had noticed that before and it is a problem with the font itself not my typing, i did try to fix it but for some very odd reason the patterns on the layer styles started to mess up so i had to revert back to the slightly parted original, as for cute i don't see it, this is the direct rendition font from the menu of doom.

Edit: the patterns messing up were actually ps and my pc being whiny little bitches so the fixed one is a go :D

i think this is the pre-master version...i don't like the outer glow all that much but the burning rock effect on the patterns feels spot on for me.

also the text layers are rasterized so it can only be changed with quite a bit of effort...(i have 6 text layers to create that exact effect.)

Shiiiiiiit that looks hot! I really love what you've done now with this. The track listing looks ace, but what about the rest of the tracks? (also Myth had already write down a track listing a few pages back). The only thing that is strange is that the track number, chapter and artist columes are not lined up right. Is that intentional? You could push the track numbers back a bit and line up everything else.

the whole thing is being split into a two cd format (saw that a few pages back). The text misalignment is unintencional, but all i really wanted to try was the overall style for the text :)
