One track has been cut and replaced. Three others are being dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Today has been a ridiculously awesome day, thanks to everyone for all your hard work. I encourage everyone who finished a track to talk to me if they plan on submitting to the panel as I will be doing some mastering work and you have the option to submit your render or my mastered version.

Can't believe a year and a half has already gone by. The rest of the project stuff has to deal with the artwork, and July 5th will be here before you know it!

I would like to encourage any of the project musicians who have their stuff done to submit the songs to OC ReMix. As with all projects, Lucid Dreaming will be allotted some songs for a mixflood, but obviously not all songs can be included in that.

When you submit, please make sure to note that you're submitting a mix from the NiGHTS Lucid Dreaming project. This way they don't accidentally get posted, if accepted, before the project comes out. Furthermore, talk with me before you submit as I may have a mastered version of your track that you would want to submit rather to whatever final you have given me.

Alright, so, now that things are winding down, I'm getting ready for the physical release. As of right now, it is planned that I will be ordering a bunch of physicals, consisting of a double disc version of the project (no bonus disc), including most (if not all) of the art as an insert book.

I'm looking to gather about $1000 to completely pay for this batch. NONE of this money will go into anyone's pocket: I will raise money until we hit the desired amount. If I don't hit it, some way will be found to pay it off (probably out of pocket). If I do gather that much, great. Any additional money I would possibly get OVER the price of the physical distribution will be put towards the cost of shipping copies out. If I gain enough to cover all shipping and STILL have money left over, the rest will be donated directly to OC ReMix.

Let me just clarify something about the project: The music IS being released on July 5th for free to everyone over the internet, via torrent and a website with download links. The website will distribute mp3s while the torrent includes mp3s plus FLAC. The artwork will also be available online through the torrent and the website. The donation is open to anyone who wants to give, and there's that minimum amount if they wanted to get one of the physical copies as a bonus. The donations are strictly to fund the physical printing, no more no less. Nobody is getting paid for this project: not me, not the musicians, not the artists, not the website designers, nobody.

If you donate $25 or more, you will get a copy of the physical release! Donations are going to be cut off on April 1st of this year!

Preview Montage Released

Though NiGHTS: Lucid Dreaming will be released for free online later this year, physical copies of the remix album will also be produced. That will require some outside funding, which OCremix project organizer Stevo Bortz, known as Level 99, said today (http://ocremix.org/forums/showpost.php?p=750501&postcount=291) he is seeking.

“I’m looking to gather about $1000 to completely pay for this batch. The art is coming along very nicely (there's a few finished pieces, and all but about three images are without rough/final sketches) and the majority of the backend stuff is done. The website should be done around the same time as the artwork, so the project looks to be sitting very comfortably ready ahead of the release date.

There's still a month and a half or so left before the donations are going to be cut off.

Hiya! No, not being a nuisance whatsoever. The title is She can has long ears. He sent me a WIP while still working on it and, in lieu of giving it a mix title, just kind-of put it as "She Can Has Long Ears" in the filename, very similar to how lolcats speak (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolcat). He and I never actually were able to come up with a better mixtitle, so this one just stuck.

I just received, and approved, the final proofs for the physical distribution. They begin production tomorrow. I should have them in my hands around the middle of June, and I will begin promptly packing and organizing them for shipping.

Due to the restraints of the physical packaging, the art book is sandwiched between the discs, with no slit or sleeve available for storage. They are shrinkwrapped though, so everyone will get their insert. Just be careful with it after you open it ;)

If, for some reason, you get your physical copy before the release date, I would only ask that you not upload the files or spoil any of the surprises. :nicework:

Nationwide Disc (http://www.nationwidedisc.com/) is where I got them printed. These are replications (stamped discs, the silver-backed kind) instead of duplications (regular cd-rs). I got the 4-panel digipak, 2 disc/2 tray with a 24-panel artbook and full color on disc. There is an issue with their website where you sometimes can order a package that isn't physically possible: in my case, you can't get a 4-panel digipak with 2 discs and trays AND have any room for an insert to put a booklet, so be careful if you order from them and confirm at the time of your order that your configuration is feasible. The total price of my order went up because of what steps had to be taken to rectify that glitch from their system. Because of that, I can't really give the total price but I think it was around 2k monies including shipping to me (double the original price that I was raising donations for).

Less than two weeks awayyyyy!

I met with Yuji Naka and Takashi Iizuka yesterday for a chat at the UK Sonic convention 'Summer Of Sonic' and handed them both a copy of Lucid Dreaming each.

They were very impressed by the look of the physical copy but a little bit of explanation was needed. After the translator described exactly what the CD was and why we had done it they both smiled and Iizuka seemed really keen on the album, even going as far as asking me if i had more spare copies on me as he wanted to take some back with him to give to the original musicians for the game, such as Tomoko Sasaki! Unfortunately i didn't have any spare discs with me but we will most definitely be sending them out to Sonic Team japan when i get the fresh batch in.

We didn't have time for them to listen to the CD while in their presence but i sure as hell know that they'll be listening to this whole album later. Stevo man, i think they got your message :)

I saw the trailer at summer of sonic you might of saw me digi i was the one wearing a ash ketchem hat all day.
That convention was awesome and i believe i was by the sonic the comic table during the trailer in line for the yuji naka and takashi iizuka signing (barely got my stuff signed)

annnyway the trailer for the album was damn awesome seeing it on the big screen can't wait to check it out.

We're operating on EST trying to coordinate everything but, as far as I am aware, we are as set as we can possibly be at this point. Just sit tight, enjoy the day, drink some purple DRANK, and celebrate NiGHTS' birthday in other ways until the release.
