Stunning. The sample quality is outstanding. Unique and original while still being able to integrate the CT themes seamlessly into the composition was nice.
The consistent beat makes this a great piece to bob your head too! Nice work

Computer? I don't believe it. Unless you talking about engineering. 8O
Hear a remix of one of the best orchestral tracks for SNES getting better will always be a pleasure. The square staff certanly will producer a track close to this if they had 1.5 of RAM.
Latin Grammy, yeah, this guy deserve it. But I believe that he is far beyond this point.

My word, this song is amazing!
Jared you really have a fantastic grasp of how to arrange for an orchestra well, and the quality of your samples is as good as you can get without cramming a whole orchestra into your desktop (there isn't something you're not telling us is there?)
One of my favourite bits has to be right near the start where the theme comes in, it's just so like the way one of John Williams' wild west arrangements starts.

Though it is very orchestral, this is one of those songs that just make you want to get up and dance...Heheheh.
Kudos.

This song really reminds me of John Williams' music. Just the way transitions are obvious, yet decieving as recurring themes keep popping their heads up. This song is verry good. I love the use of backup percussion as a lead perc. instrument. Play this to you're music teacher. 3:58-4:18 is my favorite part.

Ahh, this song has finally made it to this site. I've been loving this song ever since I heard a short clip from it when it was still a WIP at the Northern Sounds boards. Normally when I listen an orchestral song, I can find something about it that I don't like (sample quality, sample usage, arrangement, dynamics, ect.) but when I heard this song, it was pretty much as close to perfect as a song could get for me (aside from the fact that it ends). Great Job.

I thought the same thing :). I downloaded this back in October on vgmix, and I still can't stop listening to it. Everytime I hear it, I have to play it at least twice. I've already reccommended it to a lot of my friends, which is something that I rarely do with any kind of music. This really is the mix that all orchestral arrangements should stive to be like. Simply beautiful.
I give it a 10 out of 10ish.

Actually, I would assign this mix to sounding more like Aaron Copeland instead of John Williams (Williams has probably gotten a lot of inspiration from Copeland anyway). I mean EXACTLY like Aaron Copeland. He loved making the orchestra do tripilets and the xylophone stuff, while big brassy melody plays on. It's perfect! For those that don't know he wrote the famous song they use in those "Beef: It's what's for dinner" commercials. Anyway, great all around. Since I'm a big Copeland fan, I'm not complaining in the slightest!!

Long time no see, Jared! It's good to see one of the orchestral OCR mixing titans back at work on some great stuff. I haven't talked to you in a long time, but I hope all is well.
Favorite part's 4:00, and as always, you have the huge climax covered perfectly. 8O

Odd. The majority of this song definitely reminds me of SimCity music. It fits right into their soundtracks.

A great theme, and well covered here. It does sound like something could possibly be in the Super Smash Bro. games.
- I thought the main line in areas was kinda quiet at points, but everything just progressed nicely without anything overpowering each other.
I happen to be going to a Wind Ensemble Concert in just a bit, so this set me in the mood
nice mellenial fair nearing the end. great work

EXCELLENT job with the samples/whatever you used. extremely realistic. phenominal.
wonderfully cinematic. i love the chimes at 3:20ish. in fact, the whole transition there is fantastic.
now, if only you could have thrown some pitch-bending in your KI remix

Ok, it's me or my headphones are crapping out on me. The levels seem off, especially the booming timpanis and the pizzicatto strings as they are just taking a toll on them. I don't know if it is my headphones byt just playing with the volumes just doesn't help. I certainly don't think it's the samples nor the stereo panning, just the levels at which everything are set.
Time to go listen to some more orchestral pieces on these headphones and I'll get back to you all.

This sounds awesome! now all we need is an orchestral arrangement of World Revolution, then I'd be happy.

Wow what an amazing remix. Great quality very nicely arranged and flows really well and has a very unique sound to it. As said before it does remind me of John Williams work.

I disagree it being John Williams-ish. Very much NOT so.. Seems like any orchestral sound is instantly linked to John Williams  ...
Not my favorite JH remix, but great samples, pretty creative arrangement as well, but I was hoping for some more *sweeping* parts with brass/string chorales holding the melody for an extended period to give it a more uplifting shape. Now THAT would be John Williams.
Regardless, good work.

Heh, that reminds me..
My sister, a longtime musician and composer who graduated Princeton having studied music (along with Russian), had asked me to do some mastering work for her on some of her recordings. As I finished one, I said I was going to test its final volume level compared to some other orchestral music, and I picked this remix out. Keep in mind she is someone who has studied music for about two decades now, in-depth. About 10 seconds into the mix, she asked me "Is this Williams?" :D

Yeah, it sounds more like Bugs Bunny (who was the composer for that cartoon's music) and Aaron Copeland to me.
If Chrono were a Nintendo character, and he had a stage in SSBM, this would totally be the music for it.

Very nice. I was sold at the very beginning, and kept attentive throughout with an interesting kind of stacotto (sp?) rhythm. Good stuff.

1:42 - 3:16 - Awesome original composition here, and that's just one part of the track.
You could take the noticable CT stuff out of the picture completely and this arrangement would still shine as an excellent piece of music.
When accounting for everything that's present here, this becomes one of the small percent of orchestrated songs I really like (I have tough standards).
Jared, this kicks ass. :D

I've had it up to here with unoriginal CT mixes, so I was a little tentative downloading this, but those opening notes were sure a pleasant surprise! And - surprise! - I liked the rest of it, too. I really like that you didn't bring in an obvious direct port of the game melody until later, at the climax of the piece. Good effect. Very American-orchestral style, especially on percussion use.
I love this song. It definitely captured a feeling of exploration, like soaring around and looking at stuff from real real high. Like, from a plane or airship of some sort. Very cinematic feeling to it.

Nothing else can be said except this guy is the master of the mix. The people who run this board should change his title to that.
Every piece he has done has set a new benchmark for others to try TRY to achive. Once again Perfection personified.

I posted a review of this nearly a year and a half ago, and I gotta say, the novelty of this song still hasn't worn off. If I got stuck on a desert island and could only bring with me a CD of 10 remixes, this would still be one of the first ones to go on the disc.

I've loved this remix from the time it was posted and still going. I love the 'frontier' sound, like one of the old frontier movies. It's fantastic, and one of the more original CT mixes on the site. Please download this if you love old Western movies, and even if you don't, it's an amazing remix in it's own right, something I never get tired of listening to.
Pretty nice brass- not every attack is solid, but the fact that overall it's sounding pretty natural is a great skill limitus. Well done. :-)
Arrangement is way hot, with a lot of great ideas thrown in, and a solid mixing job as well.
This is some fantastic work, definitely a keeper.

This is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, Chrono Trigger remix. I love it so much I could listen to it on repeat all day! The beginning reminds me of something from Disney World. The attention to detail and quality is incredible, it is like it is performed live. The mixture of instruments is also perfect in my opinion.
It is crazy to think this is back from 2004 considering how high quality it is compared to some others from around then.
Jared where are you?! This can't be your final remix!!!!
