The game I get random urges to play... X-com. I'll be sitting around doing something, and suddenly I'll have this urge to do a speedrun of X-com. It's a little disturbing, even if it is the most perfect game in existence.

Every so often I really get in the mood to play some SSFII:Turbo, Smash Bros. Melee, or Zelda: Ocarina of Time. When I was younger, I'd get impulse feelings to replay various Final Fantasy games.

Pretty much any game from my childhood. This includes a lot of obscure NES games like Startropics 1 and 2, Rainbow Islands, and not-so-obscure Zelda II.

I do have to be in a particular mood to play a game to fully enjoy it... For instance, Final Fantasy III is probably one of my favorite games of all time, but if I just pick it up and play it, I might get bored if I'm not in the right mood.

DDR. Every time I drive by the arcade I get hit with Paranoia that they took the trip machine. Then I get a Healing vision. only to realize that the Captain has been Jacked. .

I find that this happens to me more often than not. Wanting to play a specific game at a specific time. Usually I want to play Eternal Sonata around 7 PM and a fighter before or after that... 8-O

Even though I haven't done it in a few years now, towards New Years I get the urge to play through Zelda ALttP, since I used to do a yearly psuedo-speedrun-one-sitting type deal with it.

It really depends on my environment. When I used to have GGPO on my computer, I would play Street Fighter Alpha 2 on a whim.

Now that my gamecube is in my room, I get random urges to play super smash bros. melee, resident evil 4, or sonic mega collection.

I completely relate to the "i want it the moment I get rid of it" syndrome, which is why I hesitate on throwing stuff away or selling it a lot. But oh well, sometimes we all need money and/or more room to store shit.

The random-impulse happened to me really badly for weeks with three casual games: Bejeweled, Peggle, and Plants Vs. Zombies. I dunno what kind of crack popcap puts in their stuff, but it made me want to play them constantly for weeks.

And right now, I want to go and beat all 6 original NES Megaman games.

A few months ago I did that with Mega Man 2 and was surprised at how quickly I got through it - no save states or anything.

A couple weeks ago I impulsively started Chrono Trigger. I've never beaten it before, but I've just passed the furthest point I have before and am about to resurrect Zorro - er, Crono.

Thanks to the Steam Indie games package, I had the impulse all-day Monday and part of the day Tuesday to play World of Goo. It was so bad that, in order to qwell part of it, I downloaded and listened to the soundtrack in the car. :shock:

Lately I've been really wanting to play FFVII for some reason. I never had it when it was new but I have an old PC copy to play now. Never got very far the last time I picked it up, but I just kind of want to start over and see if I can complete it.

And every time I'm driving to work in the morning and see a full moon in the sky, I want to play Ocarina of Time. It's that gorgeous title screen.
