View Full Version : Live Performers offer and request thread
GrayLightning
12-01-2004, 12:52 AM
This thread is intended to match potential performers and mixers under one thread. Recently there have been several performers offering their services in various capacities. While this is noble and welcome, having several performers create their own threads for the topic might become not feasible.
Performers and mixers should post here to either offer their services or for the latter to look for live performers.

I'm here to offer a variety of performance for whoever needs it.
 I personally can do anything on saxophone (I've got a soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass sax at my disposal). I can read just about anything you feed to me on paper or MIDI, i can lsiten and play out a solo on a different instrument if you recorded it and need it on a sax, and I can do improv over just about anything you've got. Understand - i was ranked first overall on alto and soprano sax for two years in the New York State School Music Association's ranking system for the allstate bands and stuff. trust me - i can handle anything you've got.
EDIT - sample available at www.soundclick.com/theprophetofmephisto. The song is called 'Legend of the Saxes'. There is also 'Canvas of Dreams'. Both of these songs are available at Veggiemix through my name there, 'The Prophet'.
 As well as this, i do bass guitar, string bass, some piano work, and some guitar work. I also sing anything from bass to tenor voice.
EDIT - now, I can do trumpet and trombone, some basic tuba.
EDIT 2 - add vocals in general, for male voice. I've got a pretty wide range. I recently acquired the equipment to record for voice, so add that in hurr.
EDIT 3 - Add in a little french horn, violin, clarinet, and flute. Hooray for instrumental teaching methods classes!
 I have a professional studio available for anyone who needs good recordings live of anything.
I've got a wide range of piano, vocal, and instrumental options available to me for anything needed. If you're an orchestral writer, there's a chance I can get the college orchestra or band to perform it and record it if it is good enough.
 I also do a wide range of effecting, remastering, etc. on Fruityloops. I've got available to me Reason, z3ta+, Acid...basically anything y'all need.
 I do a lot of composition too - if you're a performer and want a song in a certain style, i'll see what I can do for you.
EDIT3 - If you want examples of my composition, check out my soundclick site. its going to have the best showing of my talent, or check out my CD. both will have a good example of my compositional skills.
 I have several recordings showcasing different skills that I have that you can get from me if you ask. Just pm or im or email me and i'll get you mp3s.
Remember...
A live sax part...sounds a hell of a lot better than any synthetic sax you can find.

I offer a wide range of services, including bass guitar (fretted or fretless) and guitar....IM me for details!!!
btw, I am better at bass than guitar
I play sax. I hava a tenor and an alto, and I'll be getting a soprano shortly, most likely for Christmas. I also play electric bass, but those can sound good synthesized, whereas sax can't.

Awesome resources. By the way, like Mephisto above, it would be nice if everyone specified if they have good recording equiptment or not.
When I get a studio mic, i can offer rapping skills. I havent recorded a good rap in forever (Pheonix Down doesnt count cause that was shit)

I'm usually willing to offer guitar parts where needed. I like to think it's at least semi-professionally done, and I'm improving every day.
My only requirement is I have to like the arrangement :P.
I like to think I'm getting somewhat decent at final production too, just listen to my latest releases for that. If you like my work and want me to help out, let me know.

Hey, I've been playing piano for about 7 years, and I do live solo piano recordings every so often. I use my piano instructor's recording equipment for my recordings, which is almost studio quality. However, I can only do a recording every few months, so I'll have to have a substantial amount of remixes to perform before I can do it. Probably somewhere around 5-6 is a good amount.
I will only perform your piece if you have the sheet music with proper notation and dynamics, and a simple midi preview to go along with it.
I will also only perform it if it is a complex piece. If I think it to be too simple, I won't play it for you, sorry.
Don't worry about a piece being too complex. So long as you don't try to have my play 8 note chords with one hand at an insane tempo, I'll manage.
If I find a problem with your mix, I will contact you asking permission to fix or improve it.
Please take note that since I must have time to practice the pieces, and I won't perform them until I have a grouping of about 5-6 pieces that I can play well, and it may take quite a long time before I can get around to recording your piece (and I will usually have a remix of my own to perform while I'm doing the recording. So if I don't have my own remix to perform, you'll have to wait until I do, or until I decide to perform your piece regardless).
I specialize in classical style music from the classical and romantic periods, but I have had a little jazz experience. I will not perform abstract pieces unless I make an exception (which would be very rare).
Finally, here is a small sampling of some of my songs I recorded awhile ago. (sorry, I have to use soundclick to store my songs)

I hope I can be of service to you! PM me if you are interested.

I play upright bass and violin. I can do quite a bit on the bass, anyhting plucked or bowed, people often mistake it for a cello.
I'm decent on violin, I can play easy leads or record backing strings.
Some of my reordings are at www.geocities.com/pingosimon
I rarely check the OCR forums, so if you want to get in touch with me, IM me a tpingosimon, or email pingosimon at hotmail
I can also record electric bass.

I play guitar, irish whistle, and keyboards.
Acoustic guitar is my specialty. I'm very proficient at finger picking, especially that folky-country-type stuff (see my "Town Life" collab with djp). I'm okay but not spectacular at classical. And, of course, I can do plain ole' chord strumming just fine.
I can do electric guitar reasonably well. Either rythm or lead work is fine with me. I'm not all that great at high-speed shredding, but I can generally do more mellow melodic work pretty well.
I can also write a guitar part to go along with your mix.
In addition to guitars, I play irish whistles and keyboards.
On Irish whistle, I'm reasonably good. My whistle is a high D whistle, but unlike a pan flute, an Irish whistle can hit sharps/flats, so if your stuff is in another key I may still be able to play it (D and G are the easiest keys for me, though). I'll give pretty much anything a try. An irish whistle has about a 2 octave range. The lowest note I can hit is D one octave above middle C.
I have also now aquired a low whistle, which plays in the same key, but one octave lower. It sounds unbelievably sexy.
I'm planning on buying a lower whistle as well. I'll edit this post again once I have it.
Here's a list of what gear I have available:
-A Yamaha s03 keyboard synth (has pretty good piano patches)
-A Yamaha FG-80 steel-stringed acoustic guitar
-A Line6 Variax 300 steel-stringed acoustic modeling guitar
-A soundhole pickup
-A Shure SM57 microphone
-E-MU 1212m audiocard
-A Squier Standard Stratocaster electric guitar
-An SFX-02 Tweak Fuzz pedal
-Crate VTX15 electric guitar amp
-A Mackie 1202-VLZ mixer
-A Feadog high D irish whistle
-A Humphrey Journeyman high D irish whistle
-A Burke low D irish whistle
-A Chilean pan flute
For electric guitars, I generally use VST amp modelers (either Guitar Suite or Amplitube) rather than my real amp, as they usually sound much better.
I cannot read lead tabs or sheet music. I'll be learning the parts by ear.

I can play classical guitar (like the sheet music & nylon string type) and I can also offer my vocal skills.
I'm gonna go ahead and say that includes singing, rapping, beatboxing, and various kinds of scat.
I would also consider my improvisational mixing arrangement and creative ability to all be moderate - good.
Is anyone actually going to use this suprisingly good resource of performers? 8O I would LOVE to play a part in ANY kind of collaboration.

Give this thread a little time to be recognized. If I see people asking for live instrumentation in WIP's I point them here. I can offer Electric guitar with a lot of available effects [got an effects board]. I suppose you can hit me on aim or MSN sometime, and I'd be able to whip up a quick sample. The only example of my Cello playing would be on VGmix and I'm not sure if it's still up. And plus, I don't have a good mic at the moment, but I may be able to siphon some stuff from University next year.

I'm re-working a recently rejected mix(here (http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=49313)) and am looking for someone to do the guitar live. AIM works best for me with regards to working things out. I should also note that there's one chord that's not really possible on a normally tuned guitar; in fact, the low note of it is a Bb I think, and I don't think detuning the strings is gonna work for it. Anyway, so if anyone wants to help with this, you know where to reach me.
Yo, I've been playing piano for about 11 1/2 years. I was trained in classical up until a year or two ago, but I dabble in things like rock, jazz, video game music, more contemporary stuff, etc. I can play by ear pretty well.
I have a pretty decent recording setup now. M-Audio Delta 66 i/o box, Alesis 12 channel mixer, two M-Audio Solaris condenser mics, and a medium grand Baldwin piano.
If you wanna hear some of my playing, you can go here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/7/mikuonpianomusic.htm
I haven't really recorded/uploaded much in the way of technically difficult stuff up there, but the most recently uploaded track there (Reminiscence, new stereo recording) is a decent representation of the sound quality of recordings I'm capable of currently (aside from the clipping).
EDIT: I just recorded and added Fantasie Impromptu to my soundclick page. It's far from the best performance that's ever been done of it... but well that's me for you. ^^
GAH, just heard some sort of loud pop at 3:16. I've no idea how that got there or what caused it. Didn't hear it while recording... aw well. I'm not putting that recording on a CD or anything.
Can't say I'm proficient in every style of playing, but if you need my help I'll do my best.
EDIT: Just noticed, Silverwolf, on your soundclick site, it says "Prelude in Eb" but isn't it E?
P.S. Nice playing. I like that piece. ^_^ Although the fade-out at the end was kinda a let down. =(

We might need someone else to perform tracks for the FFT Piano Collections Project(in the Site Projects forum). bladiator's going to take care of quite a few but if we had a second to balance out the workload, it'd be nice.
I'd be glad to give it a try if you guys need some help.

I sing. I can cover pretty much the normal male range (I'm a high baritone who has sung both bass and tenor on many occasions, cause they were needed). Apparently I'm relatively good at it, too, as I've gotten into various regional (and in one case, state) audition-only choral groups over the years. Don't know much at all about processing, though, so I would just record a raw wav file and send it along for mixing and mastering. I think I can at least manage to get my crappy mic to avoid bugging out long enough to record a song if someone asked ;).

Everybody, I think as well as listing what you have to offer as far as performance, you should also list what you have available as far as gear, because unfortunately, that's sometimes just as important. If you're the best singer/guitarist/saxist/whatever in the world, it's still useless to the rest of us unless we know you can get a quality recording of it. Demos are also a good idea, if possible.
I am looking for a female vocalist, with access to a microphone, asap. Leave a message on my AIM or PM me, please. Thanks.
I MIGHT be interested in getting someone who can do a laid back jazz improv solo and is able to record well.
No trumpets because if I have a trumpet part in the song I'll play it my damn self. Any other (jazz) instrument I might be interested in. email/pm/aim me. Have samples and whatnot. This is just a quick idea at this point, and I'm just gauging if there is interest.

Hey,
I play piano. Have a real one, or a keyboard that I have hooked up to my laptop with some notation software. I can play basically anything you can get onto sheet music for me. I can also spice MIDI files up a bit with the notation software. BTW, the keyboard supports multiple instruments, so hopefully that will help. Just holler if I can be of service... People are generous by helping me out with starting to remix, so I would like to contribute somewhere as well.

Are there any live drummers here who have their own drumsets and decent recording equipment? I'm looking for one for a mix that I'm going to do. I play guitar and the mix is basically gonna be a hard rock version. Proficienty in bass pedal speed would be a definite plus.
Or if not that, anyone have access to really good drum samples? That would be fine as well.

HA! So's everyone else with ears and a penis.
On the topic of female vocalists I have this to say, get a good mike yourself (if you don't already have one) and go to a nearby college campus or something advertising that you'll pay/hold auditions... there's lots of girls that want to sing *cough-american idol-cough*.
I've got a request though, and I think some people might be able to meet it; can anyone play some soft sexy muted trumpet? Not the kind with the buzz, but the muzak kind. (http://www.trumpetcollege.com/audio/luskclip1a.WAV)

After much positive feedback on Streets of Tracheon (http://www.lggaming.com/user/xerol/songs/sot-final.mp3), I've decided the next place to go is a live version. Bladiator's going to do the piano part first, and then from there I'll get the other parts(since the piano part pretty much remains constant, it'd be something for the other instrumentalists to play along with and be able to stay synched up).
I haven't finished making sheets yet, but here's the complete list:
Complete Sheet Music(21 pages) (http://www.lggaming.com/user/xerol/songs/sot-complete.pdf)
Piano Sheets(3 pages) (http://www.lggaming.com/user/xerol/songs/sot-piano.pdf)
Guitar Sheets(2 pages) (http://www.lggaming.com/user/xerol/songs/sot-guitar.pdf)
Oboe
Flute
Violin
Low String instrument("Bass" on complete sheets)
Right now I need an acoustic guitarist to do the guitar part, since the piano part's probably going to be ready either within a few minutes or a couple of weeks. But there's some pretty fast 16th-note runs there so you might want to practice first.
After that I'd need people to do the winds and strings. I can probably take a replacement or two, although the flute's pretty much a given that I'll need one.
A few notes on the song:
-The song's actually 106 bpm, not 110(at least the mp3 version is). Blad's gonna play at 106, so we'll go with that.
-The ending is a little messed up on the sheets, basically it slows to about 80, although once again I changed that in the mp3. Like I said, it's up to how Bladiator interprets it.
-It's about 4:15-4:30, note the repeat back to measure 13.
Anyway, I appreciate any help I get in advance, I just love this song to death and can't wait to hear the live version when it's done(and I'm sure a few other people do too).
EDIT: Ok, the piano part's ready. http://www.lggaming.com/user/xerol/escape is where the file is, and where I'm going to put the individual track files as I get them in.

Hiya.
I'm in need of good rock/funkmetal singer.
You know Rage Against the Machine? Good. There's

I'm making this Tekken 3 remix of

it would sound great with vocals.
http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=53136
I have this kind of idea:
at 0:15, when the drums kick in, there could be
some kind of "yee-OH!" kind of scream,
"Heey!" scream at 0:24 when the bass kicks in,
some whispering thingies in the quiet part at
0:32 and finally, the first verse at 0:40.
Then, after it, the main riff repeats at 0:57,
and there would be some "hell yeah!" "yeaaaah!"
kind of screams. Think you can handle it?
Then you're my man :D

Hey guys. I'm just posting to offer my services as a vocalist. I'm mostly interested in rock remixes, but can handle other projects as well. I can change my voice to suit a number of different styles, and my range isn't too bad either. If I like what you're doing, and you like what I'm doing, cool. I consider myself available to audition. Basically, I'm not asking anyone to commit themselves to using my vocals when you show me your work until you decide if I'm absolutely right for your project. I usually create an initial scratch track so you can get an idea of what I would sound like on top of your music.
FYI, I can offer clean, dry audio files of my voice when requested so that you can do all the mixing yourself, or leave the vocal processing up to me. Your choice.
I record using a very nice mic (Shure KSM44) running through a pre-amp and dbx compressor/limiter/gate, then into Sonar 5.2 PE for tracking.
Take a listen to a few examples of my vocal work and see what you think for yourself...
1. Star Ocean - "Summertime" (http://www.vgmusic.com/~pong/Hale-Bopp/HB_StarOcean_Summertime.mp3)
2. "Delicious" (http://www.vgmusic.com/~pong/Hale-Bopp/Delicious.mp3) (original)
3. Tales of Phantasia - "Beyond Absentminded" (http://hale.voidaudio.net/Beyond_Absentminded.mp3)
I'll try and add more samples as soon as I have anything new to offer.

Hi, i'm desperately seeking a vocalist, male or female, to provide the vocal tracks for my latest WIP - an 80's pop remix of the theme to the Sega CD game 'Road Avenger'...
Here's the link to the WIP:)
http://www.vgmix.com/song_view.php?song_id=3615
the source tune is also available at the link listed above; as is the lyrics to my mix... the source contains vocals, and the lyrics i have re-written fit in almost exactly with those in the source tune, so learning the lyrics should be very easy.
If you are interested, send me a message, or email me at
akumajobelmont@yahoo.com.au
Thanks
Robbie.
I rap. Finally got a decent setup so I can record pretty well. Anyone need a rapper? I have a wide range of influences and I can fit most needs.

I play guitar.
Mainly I do metal, but (hopefully) can do other styles as well.
I've played guitar for almost a year now, and can do
sweeps, mid-fast melodies, back guitars etc.
My guitar is ESP KH-202 and for sounds, I use
Guitar Rig.
My stuff for recording isn't the best, but I can get
a reasonable quality out. Clean, non-distorted sounds
are pretty hard to make, but I can try those too.
Just PM me and we'll discuss about it

 5 years of clarinet experience.

I offer these skills, and I have a violin, clarinet, and a piano and a keyboard.
I currently don't have a real mic, (I have one, I'm not sure how good it is, people tell me its good). But one recommended to record a violin should cover the main instruments i offer.

Ok, I've been trying to get ahold of a female vocalist since christmas, and everyone's crapped out on me so far...so...here goes my plea to the forums.
I've got an original song I've been writing, and I need a girl who can sing the harmony. (I'll be singing the melody myself)
So, if you can open your mouth and make notes that don't suck come out, and you're a girl, your help would be much appreciated.
Rather than post a link to the song or something, I'll just provide my e-mail.
hatebunny@gmail.com and you can e-mail me if you're interested, or PM me on here. I'd link to the song, but I don't really feel like having people listen to it if they're not willing to commit to working with me on it.
Once you get in contact with me, I'll send you the necessary files (lyrics, song, parts, etc) to see what you can do with it. If you haven't got any recording software, but do have a microphone, I can probably pull some strings in that department too. Don't worry about how crappy your setup is either. As long as I can hear it and understand it, It's worth a try. I'm pretty good with sound editing/engineering already, so no worries about background noise or things like that.
The mood is pretty melancholy, and the words are pretty similar, so...if it sounds like your cup of tea, go for it. You'll get a happy little credit beside my name on my website, and...that's about it really...other than the glory of being in a song that someone else wrote. wee.
So, PM me or email me. I'm always open. feel free to sign me up for spam, I don't really care.

I'm looking for male and female vocalists. Requirements include at least a DECENT recording setup (minimal fuzz/hiss) - no mastering software or anything. Female vocalists can be alto or soprano, preferably with a solid amount of experience, familiar with vocals used in electronic music (trance, dance, big beat, etc). Male vocalists have the same requirements; the voice timbre should be rough, edgy, deeper.
Check out Legion of Boom or Tweekend by The Crystal Method for examples of the types of vocals I'm looking for.
I'm willing to shell out a reasonable sum of money if someone is able to help me out here.

I'm working on a death metal remix of a song from Clive Barker's Undying, and frankly I don't have the voice for the kind of brutal vocals I have in mind. If you can do vox in the style of Pestilence (old or new, doesn't matter), Morbid Angel or the like (no "nu-metal," please...must be brutal grindcore), PM me. Thanks in advance. If you have a real bass and can play it, that's a bonus. My pitch-transposed guitar isn't quite right. :)

We'll I've think I've got the right place to be posting this, hopefully anyway.
So I was thinking about doing a collab with me as the lyricist and one of you talented remixers out there doing the remix.
Well I've got an example of what I can do here, but sadly for the moment no mic to record my voice.
One Last Chance,
One Last Hero,
Let's start this trance,

Tryin' to earn a dollar,
Workin' as a Soldier without Cause,

Looking for someone to collab on some Street Fighter II songs. Some oneshot clips are here:
Trying to go for a Sinatra kind of vocal sound for Ryu's Ending (http://savefile.com/projects2.php?fid=8235946&pid=677352). Didn't come out quite right, as my usual vocal style is screaming =/.
Did a little diddle on violin to give an idea of my sound if anyone wants some real violin work done on
Vega's Ending (http://savefile.com/projects2.php?fid=9236123&pid=677352). Yes. I know it's slightly flat, but .. :/. Oneshot.
Oneshot.
Oneshot.
Um.. Balrog's Theme (http://savefile.com/projects2.php?fid=9890958&pid=677352). I can NOT translate this into English without sounding outrageously corny :/.
Not that it's not corny in Japanese, but.. less so. :/
Anyways. Standard's not exactly professional on these because I just ripped them out one after another. B
I also want to do a Chester Bennington-style song for Gouki's mix.. slightly creepy, with random screaming :P.
If anyone wants to collab with me, get in touch. Cheers.

I'm actually on a Techno-Orchestral-Rock project that has mantained me occupied for several weeks from now.
I'd be very interested in contacting any singer (Preferable female) that domains "Yemenite" style. (That kind of singing that we can hear in Gladiator OST, Star Wars Episode 3 OST, Troy OST, Minority Report OST,etc... Is some sort of arab chant(you can hear it at mosques too))
If somebody's interested, please send me a message.

Hey guys, glad someone thought up this topic. I want to play for you people.
I'm a percussionist. I play all aspects of percussion, including set. But the thing I specialize in is mallet percussion-- specifically mallet jazz. I've heard a good amount of vibraphone in mixes here that has been synth, and I always think to myself "well, I would've played vibes for him/her!" So uh, I recorded something for you guys really quick. Sorry the mic quality is so bad, I recorded this directly into my crappy computer mic XD. Also there's a lot of clipping, so that sucks too. If I play for you, it won't sound that bad- I could probably easily get my hands on a better mic. And sorry about the occasional bad note-- I'm in the process of revamping my technique. I've had some bad hand problems lately.
So take a listen! It's my audition, shall we say :D
http://drumultima.home.comcast.net/ocr.mp3
Also, if you wanna hear some other stuff by me, you can check out my group from high school at http://www.myspace.com/dtstrio . If that doesn't do it, check out some other stuff at http://drumultima.home.comcast.net/miscmusic.html . That may not be done uploading though depending on how fast you are.
Alright, hope you enjoy and consider me! :D

Gawd, I love vibraphones. I've never really used them much in my mixes, but I really should.
I'll keep you in mind.

haha, dude. don't set yourself up for another Magininja (http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=63650);)
Hmm. Your recording quality blows chunks of holy hell, but since you go to Peabody (omg meetup), i assume you'll be able to find better recording stuffs...even, BORROW some from our beloved pixietricks ;)
I've got a mix i might want to talk to you about...your jazz vibes will come in handy (again, with better recordedness).
PS: stay away from singing. ;)

Added to my earlier post:
I now play irish whistle and pan flute.
On pan flute, I'm not particularly good, but if you have simple stuff you want me to do I'll be happy to take a stab at it as long as it's in the key of G.
On Irish whistle, I'm reasonably good. My whistle is in D (high), but unlike the pan flute I can hit sharp notes on it, so if your stuff is in another key I may still be able to play it. I'll give pretty much anything a try.

 I can pretty much play anything but if you want something done really good its my sax or singing.(any type of sax) or my wood flute and grand piano but mostly go with the sax. Also i have well defined editing skills so if anyone needs anything edited or needs looking over its with me.
 Requirements? dont really need them. i will pretty much take anything as long as its playable. I will contact you if i believe anything might need changing and such. But if you could it would be helpful if you could send sheet music and if not midi, then after that give me some idea of what it sounds like but for the most part just make it simple for me and it will get back to you faster.

I need a eukalele player (actually, any higher-pitched guitar-like intrument would work).
The part is pretty simple; just strummed chords to a celtic rythm.
EDIT: Any folky guitar-like instrument would probably work. Mandolin, bouzouki, etc. Higher would be better, but if you play a lower instrument, let me know as well.
I guess I'll probably end up just using my guitar capoed up into the higher range, but I'd prefer something more authentic.

I don't play clarinet, someone might want to edit that in the list.
My violin recording isn't too great, so if you want to use me for violin or strings, keep it simple.
I can do all sorts of bass, I have electric, electric fretless, and string bass. I can pluck or bow the string bass, and, depending on the piece, I can get into the cello rane, so maybe put me down for simple cello parts.

Ok, i'm going to need a live violinist to play a few parts for Hidden Palace, for the S3&K Project (Project Chaos). The parts I need played aren't particularly hard at all, and both of them are around 10-15 seconds long. I don't need a master violinist or anything, but the parts do need to be played well, and if you don't have the worlds best mic setup either thats okay....even though one of the parts is a solo, there's plenty going on in the music so no noise or anything should be too exposed.
Here's one of the pieces. The other is very similar.

Alright, I just got a new performance synth, so Im currently available to play keyboard (Jazz/Funk/Rock/Electronica)
I can play by ear, and I can more than adequately record the performance.
For reference the synth is a Yamaha S90 ES
Its got some GREAT keyboard capabilities (Clavi, Wurlitzer, EP, Piano, Rhodes), and some of the most believable piano I have ever heard out of a performance stage keyboard.
Added to that is some very thick heavy bass and lots of way wierd SFX and Melodic SFX and electronica patches.
If you have an arrangment in mind, Ill talk to you about it and see if we can work something out together.
But I would LOVE to get some dedicated playing time on this towards some sort of end result.

I'm a singer looking to do some work with people on remixes, since all of my remixes seem to come out bad.. but I really like singing, and I'm good at it (I'm told; not just basing my opinion on extreme egotism). I just don't have the knack for creation.
Anyhow, I'm classically trained (2 years), with about 6 years of choir under my belt (part of that being in one of the best high school music programs in Michigan). I sing bass and baritone, and I've got a few tenor notes if they're needed. I sing in a lot of styles, so just ask. Only thing I'm not too good at is rocking out; my voice was never fit to rock. =\
I'll edit this post soon with some samples.
I am oboist, but NOT good :? I don't have a good chances to record anything, but if someone needs oboe sound I would be glad to help :)

HELP WANTED
I really really really really would like an electric guitarist. An air guitar solo guitarist to be a bit more specific. You don't have to play really fast or make something extremely complicated (though it would be cool if you can).
I need no more then 2 minutes of solo work. I've pretty much 'made' the notation and such, I just need awesome sound and awesome guitar playing.
Anyone who is interested please PM me, please if possible include an example of what you can do and how long it will take for you to do it.
Thanks =)

I'm making an anime music chipdisk. If you don't know what a chipdisk is, it's a music disk with a bunch of chiptunes on it [in a music module format like .mod or .it].
Anyway, anyone able to work in any module format [.mod, .it, .s3m, .xm] is welcome. If you're interested, PM me.
My project is for Anime ReMix, and basically I am chipifying a multitude of opening themes from anime.
If you're interested in this TOTALLY ALREADY AWESOME PROJECT, please PM me.

I offer my voice and 5 years of choir experience and my own musical studies to OCRemixers.
I am a soprano and used to be much more Pop then anything, but I've evolved into something else that I wouldn't know what to call myself now. I guess I would be varied vocals because I can do quite a range from bass, melody, and soprano. I do have sound clips of my voice, but they aren't the best in the world due to my crappy recording equipment at home. If you want to give a listen I'm more then willing to let you hear what I have.
Samples I have:
Clean Lyrics to Devil's Never Cry
Nightwish's Sleeping Sun
Nightwish's Sleepwalker
Moonlight Shadow
Tsu Ba Sa (Opening to Lunar. I also had Luna's boatsong but I don't have a clue where that file went.)
Stray Child from .Hack//SIGN
Dreams Come True - English version
Hym of the Fayth from FF10
And I think that covers all the samples I would have avaliable aside from the songs I wrote lyrics to. Drop me a line if you need me.
If you want to hear some of the others I listed just ask. Keep in mind some of these recordings are fairly old and now I'm not even satisfied with how some of them sound. Here's the link to where I've uploaded the sound bits, hope it works.
http://www.putfile.com/lucreshia_cd
I do and I don't have the ability to get myself professional quality recorded. I could go to the school and see if there is any higher upper classmen who would like to do a little project like that. This is just a little extra piece of resource I have though and I just thought I'd put it out there.

Well there you go I edited my last post to have the link to where I've uploaded my sound clips. Crappy recording stuff doesn't do justice to my voice at all. It sounds way better, but that is what I get for using my Karaoke Revolution headset and my Windows Sound recorder. *rolls eyes*

Fishy the Electric guitarist at your service:
I can play pretty much anything you can throw at me. Years of being a Steve vai/joe satriani/dream theater fan have made sure of that.
I have very fine guitars which have that "plug in em and omg, suddenly your amp sounds nice!" quality to them aswell as lots of Line 6 modelling and recording equiptment.
To get a good idea of my abilities (and the sound quality i can get) see my FF7 birth of a god remix (make sure its the latest version) in the WIP section or e-mail for more samples.

Ok, i've been working on an FF7 remix but everyone tells me the same thing: guitars = awesome, drums = not.
I need someone, preferably a drummer, to help me out, or even better, record some live ones for me. I've also done a mix of the FF8 battle theme however this one would be a lot harder for live drums as the song is in 5/4, however, if you feel up to the challenge please PM me as its the only thing stopping me from submitting.
You get full credit for the drum parts when i submit, unless you can submit under two names in which case i'll be happy to split credit 50/50 for the whole thing :).

Ok, so I've been around here for a few years. I haven't really done much other than post some old WIPs and read the forums though. However, I think I'd like to try collabing with somebody and providing some male vocals.
I recorded something within 5 minutes to sort of allow you to gauge my vocal abilities. Most problems with this (and there are some) could be refined if I had worked on it more than a few minutes.

I'm a baritone bordering on tenor. My vocal tone blends well with horns, strings, and the like.
When singing falsetto, I can also pull off a very convincing soprano when necessary. Sadly, there is no vocal clip of this feat as of yet (though if you'd like one for any reason, I'd be happy to comply).
But there is a recording of my masculine voice, and it's posted below for any who may be interested.

So, yeah, if anybody needs an operatic male voice, I'm a willing option.

I should probably post here, I seem to have missed this.
I'm offering vocals, around a mezzo soprano range, though I can go well into alto with little problems. The unfortunate thing is that I don't have the best equipment for recording, but as of next school year I should be able to get into the recording studio at my college.
I should mention, I'm really mostly a folk song-type singer, though I've dabbled in pop and techno styles. I'm always willing to try something new though.
Feel free to check out the stuff in my sig.

Most songs, sadly, lack voiceacting, or quality thereof.
I'm an actor, interested in doing voiceacting for song, movies and games. I feel this is a grand way to start out, and at the same time help out the music community I love.
As of right now, the only thing I won't do, is singing. That'll probably be the best for all of us
I have been actively engaged in amatuer acting for the last 7 years, usually doing at least 4 plays or musicals a year, and I have a lot of experience with many different kinds of acting, such as improvised ad-lib acting, musicals, plays, movies, within many different kinds of genres, such as comedy, tragedy, classic, absurd, sci-fi/dystopian, satire, etc., working with very different crews, from ages 10 to 60, and amounts of people ranging from 4 persons, to full-fledged with around 100 people involved, at many different locations, both interiors such as great theaters, trains, etc., and exteriors such as streets, and big outdoor stages.
I think that about covers it. Feel free to contact me(preferably via an Instant Messenger service) if you want some more information, or you're in need of voiceacting for a project.

I noticed there are no drummers listed in the first post. So, which is the case here; drummers are
a. useless because drums are so easy to fake?
b. too shy to present themselves in this thread?
c. too scarce in game music communities?
Some songs on OCR could have used drummers, I tell you. Especially this (http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01224/) one.

Electric guitarist here :D
Some recordings:
http://www.myspace.com/thealienparadox
I'm pretty versatile in all styles from rock, metal, jazz, blues, etc. I can also play bass, mandolin, acoustic guitar, and some minimal keyboard.
I can read music and all that pretty stuff and I specialize in solos. Not the "Yngwie consecutive 16th note triplets at 200BPM" type of solos, but more of the melodic stuff. Like Steve Vai. But, I know when the heck ot back off and let the song take its course.
And I love video game music.

...another electric guitarist here.
I'm working on a major in music with lots of professional and amature recording experience. I generally spend most of my time in the progressive, blues, and jazz idioms, but I dabble in all styles. If you need something really ripping, I can help with that as well.
I can offer myself as an acoustic guitarist and mandolin player, but as far as bass, nylon string, etc goes- I have to make arrangements to borrow equipment. I have a fair bit of classical training (approx grade 6-7, if you 're familiar with the Canadian conservatory), but if you want that kinda stuff I have to know well in advance. I have to grow and shape nails, borrow a nylon string, etc.
The video in my signature shows one dimension of my playing (technical...aka shred), coincidentally--it's what I do the least of! Just let me know what you need, and we can talk it over.

The site is officially live lolgetit?, sans a style and a sophisticated search tool. However, it works for what it is right now, and over time I'll gradually add features as needed/wanted.
Search is simple: just type what you want in the box and hit enter. It will match for the exact term you type in, but not case-sensitive. Eventually I'll get a nice boolean-enabled search in there.
