Ooh, first review ahoy! Downloaded this song when Star released it on his site, never played the game before or heard the original, but I can compare it to the other remixes of the same song on the site. Doesn't stray too far from the source material in terms of melody, but manages to stay interesting and different throughout. Really fun, a keeper!

Dear Star Salzman,
Stop kicking ass. You're making it too hard for the rest of us. Fgt.

....ok, not really, but I love the vibe here. It's a great piece. You somehow managed to throw in a slew of windchimes without overdoing it, so kudos on that. Man I can't get over how happy this is making me feel. As awkward as it is to say that. I dig the ending. Nice work :)

The way this was sounding at around 0:33, it could've built up to a GREAT melodic trance track. While I'm sort of disappointed that that didn't happen, this is still very good. Uplifting and happy, and it incorporates reverbed trance-ish electronica with some slightly more human sounding instrumentation. Nice blend of different elements here.

You know the part around 2 minutes when it sounds like someone is singing? Teeeheee, that's me. I randomly said, "jump into the sky, like a moon over the stars going crazy, like a pie in a blackhole vortex going through subliminal messages." BTW, this song is like, over a year old. Why does it take so long to get stuff posted on OC remix?

This just made my dreary day so much better. I've always loved this game, especially the Moon track and this just kicks so much ass. Awesome job. Truly amazing work. I don't hear the aforementioned singing though....
Yeah, Mr. Salzman! Your work is great, pleasant and amused.

Yea, makes me sad when people refuse to destroy kick ass remixes by dumbing them down into fundamental trance. Oh well, ain't up to us.

Personal taste, man. There's tons of good trance out there. And I never said I didn't like it; hell, I love it.

the 30 seconds at the start REALLY made me think this was gonna be one of the 10 best remixes from this site! next to mayfortunesmileuponyou and other just remarkable mixes!
BUT then this shitty trance beat comes in and totally destroys all hope! could someone please make the rest of this song after the 30 seconds? maby some piano or other relaxing instuments in this remix?

Well, it would sound better as happy hardcore. Right now it is some weird skewing of festive electronic dance smorgasborgyborgyborgborg...
Anyways, cute.

Excellent! When playing the moon level on NES (was 14 or so) I hated that level but in the meantime I love the music ;) Great remix! Salzman! Enjoy!
Yhoko, who's still waiting for a Ducktales title song remix :-/

I think you're making personal taste a bit too high a priority over technical skills and musical competence.

I can't explain it, but this mix puts a smile on my face EVERY time. Thou hast verily kicked this song's ass.
So if i hadn't already heard this and someone told me about the ingredients of the remix, I wouldn't even have bothered listening to it, no need for happy kitschy wind chime trance beat stuff, thanks.
But wow, that trance beat joining in at 0:30 is pure bliss!
Even the chimes aren't bad.
My favorite parts are probably 1:10 with the march drums, and the key change to minor at 2:20 onwards. Great melodies.

I've had this remix for a while... I stumbled upon it on another website. Probably vgmix.
This is my favorite remix of a DuckTales song. I frequently include it when I burn dance or workout CDs for myself. It's a great blend of nostalgia from the old NES days with a great techno beat. It's also got an upbeat, cheerful feel to it.
Anyway, keep up the great work.

Wow.
There are very few remixes that I fell in love with the first time I heard them. Some of the few would be Disco Dan's "Green Amnesia" and McVaffe's "The Darkness and the Light".
This just got added to the list. It's an absolutely beautiful peice. The speed isn't too slow or quick, there aren't any instruments used which contrast negatively with the others.
On a scale of 1-10, I give this a 9. My only critique: the repetitive backbeat needs to be replaced with something a little more dynamic and this remix will be perfect.
Keep up the great work!!! This is the first Star Salzman remix I've heard. I'll certainly have to check the rest out! :D

I absolutely love this song :D
The top 3 remixes I listen to most are Sonic 3 - Her Azure Eyes, then this remix, then a tie between Mega Man 3 - Mega Man 2003 and Chrono Trigger - Calamitous Judgement.
Most of the people at this site doesn't seem to like it when songs get too trance-like, but I love it as long at it has a good melody and beat, and the Moon melody is as good as any other.
I give it 10/10, one of the best songs I've heard on this site so far.

I was thinking about how I gonna to give prestige to this remix, but I didn't know quite well what I must say, until I read this:
I can't explain it, but this mix puts a smile on my face EVERY time.
Now I have "two" smiles on my face, because so simply and accuratedly I feel the same.
It's one of the most happy tracks I've ever heard in my life.

Good song though.

This is one of the best ocr there is!
This is my favorite song from Ducktales,
and Iīm delighted that someone took the task
to make a superb techno and piano remix of it.
He aimed for the stars but instead he hit the moon,
but thatīs the best thing he has ever done.
THANK YOU ZALSMAN! :D

I'm aware this thread is already host to a substantial amount of Star-Salzman-fellating, but I had to say that I downloaded this track two days ago onto my mp3 player and got home from work very late. I was listening to music and having a smoke outside before going to sleep, and this song came on for the first time. I looked up at the moon, and really, that's all you need to do to know, beyond doubt, that there's a touch of the divine in this mix.
Nicely done, sir.

I would have to say that the best part of this mix is the original part at 3:29, where the drum kicks in a little harder, and the synth goes on a roller coaster ride. Great for driving (fast). Keep it up Salzman.
whoa, who new duck tales had such an awesome melody in there!! You did a great job with this!! Whoa man, whoa!

ZOMG my boxors have been roxored!!1! :D Great stuff
One of my favorite source tracks of all time, this is a great feeling mix that focuses on the strengths of the original writing while adding some new fun surprises. A few of the transitions were a little strange with the modulations added in, but it still works out ok in the end. Some of the original parts were a little weaker and didn't feel quite right either, but the first half of the song is super good. The ending was simple but classy; nice work there. :-D

On a first listen, my initial thoughts were that this was perhaps a little safe, especially considering Salzman's cred. However, repeat listens revealed a whole lot more than just the happy-techno cover I thought I'd stumbled upon.
I really like the shifts in tone, and the great alterations made to the pace, structure and melody itself of the source. It has to be hard to find a way to manipulate and expand such strong source material, and Salzman has done it with restraint, creativity and clarity.
This is not something that blows me out of the water, production-wise... arrangement-wise or anything-wise. But removed from my expectations, there is a crazy amount of joy to be had with this one. It's cheerfulness cranked up to full and a more interesting take on the original than the genre might lead you to believe.

Love it...just love it. There's a real 90's vibe but the arrangement is so much more intricate than just being a techno remix. There are lots of subtle little changes and transitions that add a beautiful orchestral feel. This track is really bright and cheerie You'd be hard pressed to not feel that little bit happier after hearing. Towards the end I feel the arrangement trails of a little bit and loses some of the initial interest but the start of the track is so attention grabbing that I don't care.
